Gentleman’s Agreement This is the first video of yours I’ve seen. At age 74, I have recurring bladder cancer and an enlarged prostate. Your video is … Clear. Concise. Helpful. Thank you.
Gentlemen’s Agreement! Hi Eric, last year I was having to get up and go to the loo up to 10 times per night. It was ruining my life because as soon as I got back to bed I felt like I had to go again! I was constantly tired and exhausted. It sneaks up on you so you don’t notice it for a while. Eventually I went to the doctor and had an ultrasound and sure enough, at 54 years old I had an enlarged prostate. I was admitted to hospital and had TURP surgery and it’s totally changed my life! It took a month to fully recover but seriously, don’t be worried about having the surgery or even just getting checked. Get checked up and fix it! You won’t be sorry!!! Thanks for the videos Eric! Craig - Geelong
Thanks Craig, I appreciate your comment and I’m glad to hear you’re doing well! Completely agree, every guy should be getting checked. If you’re ever in Melbourne, give us a shout hello@drericleckie.com
Thanks for your understanding explanation. I am clocking 72yrs this coming August. I watched your video last year i cant remember the month. I kept on using siting and relax which did not work properly at the end of last year. Eventually from no wher i just found that standing and leaning using a hand to the wall worked perfect for me until now i am still doing that . I thought it might do a bad side effect on me but with your to days explanation i thank you very much . i have so far subscribed to yur channel now to access me get more of your information to keep me going fully emptied. Onca again thank you so much GOD BLESS YOU ALL THE TIME.❤❤
Wow! So glad I found you. I'm 77 yrs old and have discovered a lot of what you just taught. However, that said, you have connected dots that I hadn't. Thank you, I can't wait to apply the rest of your advise.
Gentleman's agreement. Yes, I do have BPH. I found the hand on the wall posture myself, but I didn't double void. Thanks for this video, and I'll do the exercises too. I'm 70 years young!
Gentlemen's Agreement. Hi Eric. I'm 72 and have just had a "Rezum" procedure done on my prostate. Of course I had to wear a catheter. When they removed it I went home and was told to come back the same day if I had a slow or "dribble" stream. I went back and had it reinserted not sure I really needed to do that since I did have some flow. I have watched your 2 videos on how to relax and double void your bladder. I think this will help when I have the Foley removed again. Thanks for your informative videos!
Thanks Jerry, I appreciate you! If you need more specific help and guidance please book in for a free call with me. Happy to help: calendly.com/dr_eric_leckie/20min
Great advice here which I was actually doing anyway... because that relaxed method does work... apart from the posture it's surprising how much mental attitude can affect pee flow....in other words if you're worried and tense and have convinced yourself there's a big problem....pee flow will be affected.....the big take away here is...relax and don't be tense..👍
Ditto! ALL THE ABOVE. 77 yo and like you had figured out those same things, but also like you, not the wall leaning contribution. I can't wait to see if that benefits. And you are so right, a major factor is your brain! Especially when required to 'hold it'! haha
I tried your sitting down technique and it works. It was surprising just how much pee was still in there after I thought I was done. I have to admit I keep forgetting to do it. This standing up method seems very much easier. I have booked in for a prostate check and being 56 years old I very much think this is the cause of my frequent urination problem (I am getting up twice a night). I also have kidney stones which may also be an issue.

O O thanks I have been standing for a while now One year ago I went through radiation treatment for prostate cancer had 5 treatments every other day I had to stand up and hold the wall . Since the treatment standing up has been the best way for me to urinate also your experience are great 😊 Thanks 😊
I’m 71 3/4. I found the two stage on my own. I thought it wasn’t good. I actually found it funny. What’s next ? 3 stages? Love it! Gentleman’s Agreement! 👍💪🥂
Thanks again Dr.E. As usual, your content is "right on" and your method of presentation is unique and most complete. I am all over the ,"Gentleman's Agreement."
@@DrEricLeckie I suggest an alternate approach to complete evacuation of the bladder. After first urination, put your left hand under flowing water of the tap and try to urinate by putting mild pressure. Within one minute, urine will start coming out of you penis. If needed, give mild jerk.
Excellent ! -hand on wall RELAX and bend knees - you may need to wait a bit for the second flow though -so go to a stall if one is available - move away from urinal -if away from home go to stall- no question! be AWAY from urinal ! Obviously go to Doc for Prostate Check! Never heard of the perineum upward pressure ! Interesting ! Women do these pelvic floor stuff all the time - men need to listen - you are educating us - thanks .
Hi Eric, I had my TURP last March and I have been very fortunate with the outcome. I now sleep throughout the night without having to get up to pee and I can now hold my water when travelling until I reach a toilet. The key to my success (in addition to following the advice in your videos), is to do Kegel exercises both before and after the operation.I still do them more than a year after my op.I did them three times a day before the op. I now do twenty of them once a day post op. If to want to lift heavy weights with your arms them exercise your biceps. If you want your waterworks to retain your urine until you can get to a toilet then do Kegel exercises. I'm living proof the exercise works. 👍
Just had TURP surgery a week ago, today i did a void test and still not completely emptying my bladder. I drink more than 64 0z of water daily so i am going to try Dr Leckies technique, Thanks for the useful info

Gentleman's agreement. Thanks so much for the info! Some really useful tips. I have had a Turp and things were better for a few months then I started to struggle to urinate again. Went back to the doctors and they found some scaring so I had another operation to fix that. That was a few weeks ago and things were better but I have started to struggle again to empty my bladder. Going back to the doctors tomorrow and I think they are going to suggest intermittent catheterization. Going to also try some of these techniques.

OK - someone has to make a hand-washing comment - It's a good idea to wash your hands BEFORE peeing. If you enter stall with dirty hands and then touch yourself in several places - what is the sense of washing AFTER? I'd rather have clean hands when handling sensitive equipment. Great videos!

Thank you so much for the good video but for me at night I go to toilet 4--5 times could you please help me to over come this problem . Thank you!
Haha someone had to do it 😂. Let’s start the debate!
Correct advice / have Bph / have to release gas while standing prior to peeing/ gas seems to exacerbate and trigger urgency.
Excellent stuff great delivery!
Much appreciated!
Good stuff Doc 👍
