- Found the 'FPS Aim Assist Pack' and it has these precision aiming rings you can add around your joysticks to increase the resistance. They actually look kinda useful, has anyone used these before and if so, what do you think of them?

I've got some high rise on my controller right now lol Hi Mick!
I just returned mine. Xbox kept popping up a message saying I need to turn on my controller even tho it was already on. It wouldn’t stop popping up that message no matter what until I took these rings off. Then everything started working again. I had the different size options in 1 pack from Kontrol Freeks off of Amazon. Just returned them 2 days ago.
@@itsmznatnatbitchez that is really strange my kontrol freaks dont give me any problems

Helps when u overdrag and keeps aim more consistent

@norcobick moves in lefty controls
@@-aid4084 Do you really play like that ?
@@Speedyx485 I switched to lefty controls, the 4th option. Since I'm on pc I have my triggers swapped so they are normal again. This was made so that I could aim with one hand and shoot with the other since I couldn't tap my trigger quickly without messing my aim up. I'm relearning how to aim, but it's going well. I just have to find the motivation.

Those are called precision rings and they’re fantastic. I would try all three on your aim stick to se which one is best for you. But I definitely don’t recommend them for your movement stick.
bro i tried playing with those but it was so hard to look around and didn’t even help my aim.
@@jimmyz2102did u try n double yer sens?
Hey Mick, for these you run the taller stick on the aim stick, and the smaller one on the walking stick. You only put the precision rings on the aim stick. Using these on your movement stick will actually slow you down. The point is that you increase your look sensitivity substantially so you can make fine adjustments aswell as fast turns with the aim stick. The taller stick gives you a wider range of movement for more accuracy, and the resistance rings assist in this. Try to increase your sensitivity by about 30%, and turn all of your deadzones down low! Hope this helps.
Which ring would you suggest? Also, what’s dead zone? I’m going to try your suggestion tomorrow. Thanks
@@he-mansuncle7661 I like the Foam rings. The harder ones are my preference. But you can buy multipacks that contain them all so you can get a feel for all types too see what works for you! I run my deadzone on 5. But what you want to do it turn it as far down as you can, without any stick drift. So if you experience stick drift turn the deadzone up by 1, until the drift is eliminated. Hope this helps!
@@VolanicASH Thanks! I bought the 3 pack that Mick got. Hoping that will help my natural drift lol
@@he-mansuncle7661 It will just make you more precise. Finer movements thus better aim! The best of luck pal.
@@he-mansuncle7661 deadzone is basically how far you have to push your stick for it to work. If you use a really high deadzone it makes it a lot harder to make small adjustments because you’d have to push you’re stick about halfway to the side before your aim adjust. Idk if that makes sense but just try a really high deadzone and a really low deadzone and you’ll understand it
It definitely helps with aiming. I got these when playing Time Splitters 2 I forgot how loose and floaty the aim was in the game as you can’t fine tune it in game.
Mentioning playing timesplitters. Ah a man of culture.
One of the greatest games ever! Was it the duel shotguns that destroyed I can’t remember anymore.
I like the extenders, they really do make sticks more comfortable.
I havent used the rings but I have tried using the extended thumbsticks. in my experience playing halo, they really do help with precision.
Would be good for racing games too
Faxx
but when your going top speed and you hit a sharp turn 🤣
Don't tell me that hasn't happened before
If you need enough precision to use these you're probably playng AC or Beamng, the only other game i can think of is the 05 most wanted because you need to turn slightly otherwise your front weels slow you down and you turn less.
Get a logitech wheel. There cheap and good
@@slippinjimmy4678 cheap?? They sell for 200
@@slippinjimmy4678 i mean, they're not that cheap compared to a controller and require a dedicated space, racing wheels are not for everyone, and they're for very specific games because if you expect NFS to play well with a wheel you're gonna be dissapointed.
They sold junk sponge shavings for an exorberant price.
I use these when I’m sniping. They really do help if you lack control of your thumbs. Other than if you’re a run and gun type player you won’t need these.
Ngl I like it for racing games more than anything. Helps to not be so fidgety
Those things totally work took a little getting used to and some fine tuning on the sensitivity but definitely recommend them
I think this have additional benefit of reducing wear especially on switch pro controllers where the wear turn the plastic into plastic dust. In my case it even caused the analog stick to drift because of the dust
True
My plastic literally melting
I used kontrol freaks soft precision rings(those rings) on xbox and they work alright. You mainly only use them on the camera stick but the rings have many flaws and inconsistentcies. They slide up the sticks and activate before inter deadzones engage or crunch half the material while the stick is fully tilted with the rings being slightly lifted up needing a thumb grip to keep them down that little bit extra room. Then as well you need to set them up with the new outer deadzones or crank sensitivity upto max. Which many games it is to slow at max without over max sensitivity or many games don't have deadzones to set. Some games aiming feels wonky, games like fortnite you can't emote. If you have to remove and reinstall you need to be careful they don't break or roll up. Some games they work great if you have multiple controllers and one can only be used for that game. Older very lose sticks i can say it tightens up aim nicely though. Your not flopping around a stringy stick to aim while rpgs less tension sounds nice. They will probably be best with Elite controllers but they have adjustable analog stick tension. Preformance differs to me from not doing well to amazing depending on how they work out
These are great I don't understand all the hate. But the thing with most of the rings is that they limit the max range of the sticks, so be prepared to jack up your acceleration, sensitivity and/or reduce the max stick deadzone. They work well in games that have lots of controller customization settings like warzone, not so well in games that dont.
Thanks for the heads up champion!
I had a similar experience with the rings, and ended up feeling they aren't worth it. The restricted range drove me nuts. I like the stick extenders, though. I use a a short broad one on my left stick and a longer one on my right stick for greater finesse.
“Some are soft some are hard” no truer words have ever been spoken
😅
There really good for holding your aim steady like when you beam at long range
As some who has adjustable tension on their sticks in their controller and played with max tension. Your aim is way more consistent with almost no tension and a wide thunb stick. High tension will cause you to over shoot where you’re turning to, as you push way harder on the stick that with low tension. Its the same logic as running a light weight mouse over a 100+g mouse.
i learned this the hard way
Bro said everything except his experience
boys….TRUST ME on this! You need to get the purple Kontrol Freeks…it 100% makes your aim better….especially if you have a DualSense control….the joysticks are way too stiff and isn’t precise.
After a few months with Freeks…my KD last season on Apex is 1.4/avg Damage/546…now this season it’s 2.0 KD with 658 avg Damage….definitely worth it
They seem like they would absolutely work and makes complete sense actually...
But I've had seasons on pubg 5+ KD 500+ avg dmg
then the next season It was high 3 kd high 300's dmg...
THEN (lol) the next season 6kd 600+ dmg...
My point is that when you have such a high KD and DMG like your stats its not always the same and fluctuates so it's not a big difference... however when you been playin games specifically like pubg apex (aim sensitivity is super important requires muscle memory and the recoil control takes time to master)
You DO notice the slightest difference/improvements with your aim...
with that said it's such an awesome idea and I'm definitely gonna try it out... and im willing to bet the end of next season your stats will be even better!
Sorry for the long ass novel i usually don't type that much lol
Aim assist andy
This might also give you more precise steering in racing games, I'd be interested in trying it...
These are something that are to each’s own. I personally tried the precision rings and don’t like the feel of them and I also don’t struggle with over drag in FPS games and have an overall good control on recoil. However, these tools can definitely make all the difference for people who can get used to the feel of them
I have had those aim rings on my controller for like 3 years... they definitely help. The stick extension thing helps a lot too. Together those 2 are pretty amazing for fine tuning your aim. But I got mine from "control freek" might be the same company... I've always heard them called "control freeks" rather than thumbstick extender things lol
I’ve always was wondering if they were any good I’ve seen them a lot
They're ment to help aim in shooters with high sensitivity aim so you can modulate the rotation speed of the camera changing the amount of force you need to use to go all the way. Shooters are played this way because when you don't have a mouse you need to do this in order to be able to turn around quickly when someone's on your back, but it can be really challenging to play that way.
Been using rings for almost two years. Was a huge game changer! I only use one on my right stick. Will never attempt to play CoD or hell, any game without it again.
Looks like a solution to a problem I never had.
love them struggled so hard with aiming on controller and after the precision ring and low rise thumb my aim is waaaay better so accurate perfect for presicion aiming :)
Precision rings take a portion of your outer range of motion in the stick. Its basically just budget tension.
Keep it off the left stick and put one on the right stick. It would help you stay consistent and would reduce the chance of getting back stick drift on the right
The most expensive way to get stick drift
@@JubbLaRacing seeing as they seem to fall apart easily, it wouldn't surprise me if the foam got stuck under the joy sicks
I have these only to keep dust from getting into the joystick mechanism to help prevent joystick drift.
It somewhat helps
edit: It also helps get rid of snap back too,
it just depends on how much resistance you want.
I would think they do the opposite and add to the debris under the joy stick from all the friction. I could be wrong.
I like the red one better than the other ones
used to run them both when i played console. low rise on left with no ring with a high rise on the right with a medium density ring. I'd turn aim assist *off* thats how much they helped
Damn
The foam pieces are junk. Don’t waste your money people. Just stick to PlayStation controllers if you prefer firmer thumbsticks. Kontrol are cool. 100% not needed, but for some people. It helps them aim easier. If you’re already good at games. This stuff won’t magically make you better.
I recommend getting better🗿
It’s much harder on consoles to aim and stop at the right time.
So...buy a pc?

I'm on halo infinite and using the medium rings. To give you an idea, I'm on full sensitivity and accelration with 0% move dead zones and yet max sens isn't enough to bring me back to my original speed before the rings. 9/10 for me.
Maybe its good for games with sensitive movements. Like navigateing a character on ice or playing a shooter game with high sensitivity aim
You should make a full review with gameplay using those
In a stick that doesn’t have hall sensors that could’ve very well just caused your stick drift. So not only did you have to pay 20 bucks for some thing that was essentially pointless, it broke your controller
"Helps aim" proceeds to put one on the left thumbstick
I using the Precision-Rings for Long-Range-Precision Gunfights. It helps a lot, also wen youre in panic the Aim shake less.
What i think is that $20 for 6 rubber donuts are way to expensive
$20? I’ve always seen them be 9 buck for 2 rings and 10 bucks for 6 rings
I had mine for 3€
Well I made mine out of foam I found around my home
I thought the analog extenders were dumb at first but now It feels wierd to play without it lol
Same
Speaking from experience, the extended thumbsticks are nice… but, ONLY if you got paddles on the back of your controller. Otherwise it feels like your thumb has to travel a mile to get to the face buttons which isn’t all that good in FPS games
I have the resistance rings. I had a ton of problems overshooting aim in games, especially rainbow six, where there is absolutely no aim assist at all. The same day I started to use the rings my kd jumped a good 0.9
Do a before and after of your aim
100 percent konrol freek precision rings are amazing little things I use to purple ones only thing is if you play with a custom pad and you have higher sticks just an FYI make sure you get 2 as with heightened sticks one doesn’t do anything just falls out of place
With PS and X I feel it unnecessary, but Switch analog is no joke. Definitely need these
20 Dollhairs for a stick and foam💀😂💀
For more precision aiming
I would go ahead and use one ring on aiming because you don’t want to make your movement slower but you do for aiming
That foam seems like stick drift just waiting to happen
The ring things would be cool for cruising in Forza
its hard to get used to but left one needs to go , and you need to tinker around alot with sensetivity settings
My man said ' but is it even legal " 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
No no no, you’re supposed to put all three aim rings on each joystick, and both of those extensions on the right joystick.
Fucks up the controller after a while. Gives you stick drift 100% soon on my 3 controller in 1 year bc of these.
They do help correct you from over aiming, and overcorrecting when you shoot. (Ads) But they wear off quick.
I need some of these, but don’t use on left stick because they will slow your strafe
I have 1 year using that and it’s 🔥
It’s dependent on the player, I used to use KontrolFreeks because the height felt nice at the time. Now I much prefer the lower stick but bigger contact patch. The foam isn’t for every game and play style. It’s if you absolutely want thicker sticks.
(Tl:dr):could also save sticks from stick drift? It could because it would kinda prevent you from slamming them around.
hard to say.. as a fast movement player the extended sticks on my aim thumb was tough.. bc its so raised and sticky its hard to press buttons quickly with that thumb.. i rock it on my left stick and keep the right one how it is
I got the red one it’s different then precision rings wich are very sticky but this one’s ( the red one ) is very good wich the precise amount of resistance
You don't pit those on your left stick it will hinder your movement. It go's on your right stick for aiming. And they do work.
Idk why people buy these products when they can simply spend more time tuning their sensitivity and get the same results.
When i played on console, I went from a 2 or 3 sensitivity to a 8 or 9, def recommend kontrolfreeks
When you buy these, sadly remind yourself that you can't hang with the people that don't need these...you know, the players that can still slay with just a regular controller.
🤣🤣🤣
Or you can but you want more fine inputs. That's like saying because you use an elite or scuff controller you're bad. Even though pros have used them since 369 days.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind a set of ones that made it to where the thumbsticks didn't move at all. Would give me peace of mind when my Switch Pro controller is loose in my backpack when I travel.
glistco makes a product (Joy Guardians) that does that. I saw it and came back to let you know.
for racing games i think this a good
My favorite aim assist is a piece of clear tape with a red dot in the middle of the screen
That’s actually such a good invention. Contradicting/opposing motions/contractions, always allow for more precision.
Bro is the boss of yappsville
Or mouthsville
I wouldn't call it an assist but as a heavy hand player I like the idea of resistance in the analogue
Not me admiring his Xbox controller thinking it was the best controller I’ve ever seen
With all these videos about controller mods that "make you better" it's getting to the point of just saying "if you buy this product, a blind alien with no legs and has hair only on its fingertips has better aim than you".
Jokes aside, I like these modification vids, as they validate me for not having to use these stuff lol
They are really good I use both of those and they help a lot
I would say it didn’t improve your aim but change the way how you aim. More resistance makes you push harder. This will help for people that have trouble with gently push for precision aim. For me I already adjusted with these tools so, for me it worked great but it too pricey.
It also protect your controller from dust getting inside analog stick but however, if you didn’t play every day that ring will collect more dust instead.
This would be good for when you put your controller down for a long time to help with stopping stick drift
Cool until it fuggs up your left stick causing it to drift.
I got these exact ones and the stick extenders work great but the other things after they rip they will make Ur controller squeak
How to sell literal garbage scraps for $20.
I only use them in my RS because that’s the typical aiming joystick
Bought this a while ago I use it without the foam rings it’s just better
I've had customers end up with stick drift with the soft ones. The residue ended up getting into the controller jamming the thumbsticks
The comment I was looking for. Always was skeptical of getting the rings because once they wear down the dust goes into the thumbstick module.
You have to put the black one and or the red or blue one
I'm not paying 20 dollars for 50 cent manufacturing costs
Good mid to long range recoil control. Terribly handicaps close range trying quick rotations. Even on higher sense if the stick can't get over fast enough your cooked
Never use these on your left stick and they block full range of motion meaning you won't be able to reach full lock with the stick anymore.
I use Kontrol Freeks thumb grips on all of my controllees. I can't play without them lol
Helps when you don't know how to press the pause button and change the sensitivity
Bro ur not supposed to put any on L3/left joystick, it's supposed to help ur AIM (it's only supposed to be used for the right joysticks)
Not really. You can adjust aim by also moving, while maintaining the cross hair still.
They work great but ONLY ON YOUR RIGHT STICK.. it will slow movement and work against you if put on your left stick. Don't make that mistake..
That’s gonna fall apart and little particles will get down in the mechanism and cause stick drift
Why does he sound like that rock guy from Thor?
These things do work but they cause stick drift to happen much sooner when used.
I love being called “champion”
These would be amazing for Forza to prevent accidental oversteer
