My father made controllers for people with disabilities when I was a kid. He got into it bc he lost his leg in a car accident and understood the day to day problems of stuff like that. Most people who acquire disabilities have a period of mourning and despair before adjusting to a new normal and finding they can usually still do the things they love with patience and creativity.
Losing an arm, breaking a leg, a brain injury, and YET you still got up again to continue doing what you love. That right there, is so damn powerful from you. Mad respect to you 👏👏👏
Damn losing an Arm as a Gamer would be my worst Nightmare (after losing Eyesight probably), but you pushed through and made the best out of it. Mad Respect.
To think of it mostly game controller design for normal hands, my friend has few fingers his best option is to play mobile games, or PC instead ,since the button more customizeable but of course to use mouse you need grip and 2 finger atleast 😗
@@kiwoxgen9929 to use a mouse u just need a single finger actually lol.. unless u play shooters or something (aim with right mouse button and shooting with left mouse button together pressed etc). But yea games like Age of empires or rts games u can play one handed quite easily even if u only have 2 fingers
Really appreciate you putting this video out. I couldn't imagine going through something like this possibly and losing access to my favorite hobby. I hope more companies make accessibility products for all sorts of gamers.
This shows how disabilities are real on their own when considered in a vacuum, however it is WORSENED by inaccessible surroundings. Adaptation is core to our survival AND thriving. It's important that we build things so everyone can be part of the fun.
This is important. Gaming isn't a fade or a joke of an industry. Gaming can be therapy, it can tell hundreds of storys a thousand time more interesting then any live action tv show or book, and as far as i can tell its now a billion dollar industry that not going away. So to see a man take himself in a lowpoint and keep to gaming despite having an injury that would have ended most gamers enjoyment, its inspiring.
Book? No. I appreciate other medias/mediums for leading me to literature. But for me and others like me fiction/stories are superior in text, in books, expressed in literature. It's more portable and cheaper. It doesnt need electricity and other accessories. It's the ultimate physical media. I'll give an example. I played the witcher 3 but the books is much more superior and original. Stories in books has more philosophy and details and has more freedom. In literature it utilizes language to the max so it can produce other arts like making a visual/performance arts from the scenes from a book and making music, melody, poetry from it. Classic literature is the foundation of modern media if not for it we won't have the other medias. Books are also much more personal, if you don't have aphantasia and can make sense, imagine, relate to what you're reading. The quality of title of choice will also be one the main factor if not the main.
I had a classmate who was missing an arm. Felt awkward asking him about it, but he said it was alright and that he was born without one. Seeing someone who is missing an arm from an accident is just a tad different. Can't imagine what your experience was like losing it, but I'm glad to see that you can get to a point where you can shrug it off. You can totally get by with one arm, there's just more steps. It's awesome seeing videos like this. I got really bad arthritis in my right hand after COVID and couldn't play two-handed games because it would hurt like hell. The normal treatments didn't work and I didn't have the money to try many assets for one-handed people. A nice guy that had a 3D printer got me the controller asset that you can't charge without removing the asset 😂 and I couldn't get used to it, but the Nintendo switch one (very simple one that I found on RUclips) worked well for more simple games. Aside from that, I started getting games that you could play with just one hand, like RPG-makers, some point and click ones etc and could manage. It really helped and I found some gems. I'm on a better treatment now that is finally working, but it's been two years and it's amazing how you just get used to stuff and do what you can. Thanks for sharing information on what you can do to keep playing games even if you can't use one of your hands. Great, inspirational, simply amazing! Hope you play lots and lots of great games!

Accessibility is a topic that is always proposed in college projects for designers (at least here in Brazil), and with designers we are always concerned with the ergonomics of the product. Maybe bringing the topic to this group will guarantee you better results, if you were Brazilian I would even bring the problem to my college. It may not be perfect, but great that you got at least a solution, I love playing and I hope you keep playing and having fun too!

As a disabled gamer myself (arm paralysis since birth) I literally taught myself how to use a controller as is with just one hand. To give you a small idea of how it works for a Switch Pro controller, my palm controls the left analog stick and my fingers handle the triggers and face buttons. Took me a while to adjust to it but now it feels like second nature for me regardless of game genre. Seeing how positive you are about the injury, and being able to crack funny jokes about it, makes me think you absolutely deserve the views you're getting right now! I hope the subs pour in my man, keep living life!
My thoughts exactly, I can't even imagine what its like to lose a arm let alone cope with it so well. I remember a lady I was in rehab with breaking down and crying because she lost both her legs in a car crash, I can only imagine the beginning was just as hard for Champutee. I broke 3 limbs getting ejected out of a car. Seat belt snapped in half(luckily, engine ended up in the drivers seat), only had a functioning right leg, took 3 months before I could walk or use my hands mostly correctly. Dude great video. My left arm suffered an injury at birth that has drastically affected my ability to do things I love, like forcing me to play left-handed guitar, avoid sports, as well as put up with scrutiny from people throughout life. So glad you mentioned the disability compatable gaming options. I worked at gamestop and my location was only one in our area that knew about and sold adaptive (complicated explanation as to why) and we would always mentuon to those with disabilities about some of these and the joy in peoples eyes when they realized anyone could play if it was more known was always amazing. For an example that isnt known too much microsoft knows the adaptive isn't amazing for some disabilities and actually has a software set up where 2 controllers can be set up so that both act as one controller! (This is so a second person can press the buttons for another that they aren't able while both have their own controller and the first person has priority on their controls.)
Your humor about this literally had me on the floor, i nearly lost my arm at the hospital and i still remember begging them to try anything to save it… because i like using it for video games! 😄
Love your positivity in a tough situation I work in an office role and injured my finger outside of work. Book?

You somehow took a tragic event that many people would literally never recover mentally from the same event and made that topic into something more lighthearted to give more insight how the hell you manage to keep up with games after missing a limb that is LITERALLY requires 2 because most peripherals are designed that way. Hope i can see more content of yours either related to this topic or branch out to other kind of videos as well. I can already see the joke/pun potential you could have with whatever game you are playing especially with friends who take the whole thing as lighthearted as your portray in this video.
Greetings from Greece! Have a nice day
Thank you so much!!!! Really appreciate it :))))
He is a precious lil bean 🥺🩷
No you are🥺
No randy shes to young you ....@@randymarsh9488
Dude great video. My left arm suffered an injury at birth that has drastically affected my ability to do things I love, like forcing me to play left-handed guitar, avoid sports, as well as put up with scrutiny from people throughout life.
But seeing videos like this really remind me of how things could be so much worst, and for that I seriously applaud your ability to hop online and make a video about the reality of things going forward. Not to mention the great humor sprinkled throughout. Definitely can see your channel poppin off brother!
Very fucking awesome to see someone who lost their arm not giving up and trying to adapt. Also you already seemed to be well seasoned with editing and scripting too that I couldn’t believe this was your FIRST video!!! Can’t wait to see more 🔥
Actually hilarious, best way to deal with something awful is with comedy my guy
I’m glad I stumbled across this. One of my biggest fears is just being able to never play video games again due to the lack of an arm I’m sorry for what you’ve had to go through. Game on brother
Holy smokes, ur a legend!!! I’m like 30 seconds in and ur energy or ur situation is amazing!!! Good for u and ur mental!!! ❤❤❤❤
I was surprised that this was your first video. You hit all the checkboxes as I am concerned.
Good personality, good timing on the editing, good overal vibe. Wholesome and positivity boosting without it taking over the topic itself. I’m subscribed and curious what you’ll upload next. This was a very good introduction.
My thoughts exactly he's got excellent vibes right out of the gate and a good sense of production value
and he edited the vid one handed
I literally thought "this can't be his first video, he seems too confortable and funny"... damn! All the best man, you're an inspiration.
As a person with a disability, an advocate, and a gamer, I am so glad to see this video and the progress in adaptive controllers. This video was enlightening.
As a Phish fan, I want to ask if you're going to either Vegas or Mondegreen. Let me know!
From what I've seen, any of the USB adapters that let you use Xbox controllers on Switch should also work with the adaptive controller. Apparently the Magic-NS will work with a number of controllers and will output wired Switch Pro inputs.
This has been a fear of mine for so many years. Thank you for making this. I feel a comfort from this.
We need to protect this man at all costs
why
Why he’s been bless by god
Clearly you haven't been doing a good job since buddy lost his arm.
To late to say that now..
Shut up with that cliche trendy ass statement
I was taken aback when you said this was your first video. This is already pro-level production. Great job!!
Retweeeet!! So good
Because the person editing is probably a pro
I'm from Latvia and I didn't even know such devices existed.
Glad to see that your sense of humor has not disappeared with the severe injury. I wish you all the best
Hope you get your arm back soon ❤much love
Bro I didn’t believe this was your first video until I looked at your channel. This is insane work. I’m sure I’m not the first to say it, but you’re a natural. You keep this up and you’ll be one of the bigs. I mean you already have almost 15k in 6 days! Very positive and humorous video, thank you
Dude this is your FIRST video??? The quality was great and you are genuinely super entertaining to watch, and getting this far with just ONE video is crazy. I do feel really sorry for you and know that must be extremely life changing, but you will make it really far if you continue making videos ❤️
Hand down - this is one of the most original and down to earth videos I've seen in a while. Good on you for being so comical with the situation. And you have a great story. Bravo.
What you did there, I saw it 🖐️
Single handedly the best video about videogame controller accessibility
I sorry about your accident, and I’m happy that you are able to game again. Your carefree attitude to it is pretty inspiring.
Your humor about this literally had me on the floor, i nearly lost my arm at the hospital and i still remember begging them to try anything to save it… because i like using it for video games! 😄
Love your positivity in a tough situation
I work in an office role and injured my finger outside of work. It was a minor inconvenience and started to wonder what if I had just a finger amputated the differences it would make to both work and gaming and having to adapt
It’s remarkable to see you go through trial and error and promote companies to innovate for inclusion of non mainstream customers
