Hello! Sorry but I don’t understand if with the AirPods Pro 2 usb c case we are still able to use MagSafe chargers or for them we need to remove that cover.. thanks!
Is there any case like this for iphones? Maybe just making the chin longer and even a possibility to add a headphine jack at 90 degrees? I have been thinkin abt it but getting the chip is hard.
He says while buying from knockoff websites. Knockoff Chinese products are some of the biggest contributors to ewaste. People are less likely to throw out outdated real products than cheap knockoff counterparts
Studies show that the more expensive consumer electrics are the less likely they end up as ewaste. Bottom line is his supporting the cheap Chinese electronics industry, while good for your wallet is not good for the environment 😂
The repair/upgrade home manufacter market is Probably one of the easiest businesses to get into successfully, if you have good ideas and the willingness to learn the skills and invest in the right equipment/connections…
@bobweiram6321 difference is that the equipment allows future projects to be made at small scale and for cheap so it greatly helps with inovation. also if an improved design is made then injection molding would make changing the case design very difficult
@@oggilein1 you get it! Also for 12k I could maybe barely pay to cut molds for one model of AirPods. I just released 6 different models and I'm not done yet ;) Sandblasting robot was a no brainer
Nice one! Just bought one, as I now don't have an iPhone with Lightning anymore. Great possibility for an upgrade without purchasing the same AirPods just for USB-C
Finally a RUclipsr maker that sells his work. I know there are many out there, but a lot of them have the tools, have the engineering genius, but just make stuff for themselves. Those are the worst kind of videos. Good job mate 👏👏👏
10:10 "New Airpods Pro 4 can now stand up, and for only $50 more" could very well be a new feature and "Apple innovation". Congratulations on your work man, all of us who have ever dealt with electronic problems and solutions know ALL the work that is behind it.
So gangster. Can’t believe the power we have today in our little workshops. I thought my 3d print farm was crazy but this guy is making his own electronics.
Wow. I bought the upgrade kit a year+ ago and before I got around to fitting it (I was waiting for the batteries to die before I risked the task, not realising batteries are hard to get) one of the internal mics came loose, so active noise cancelling now gives a knocking noise when I move. So I had to get new, usb C version. My old ones work without ANC, so it’s a good time to upgrade that old case now anyways… but the only problem is I can’t find the flex cable! Beautiful engineering ❤
Such cool products. Bought the usbc conversion kit for the airpodax a couple weeks ago and it works perfect for me. This is a great solution for people that dont want to void their warranty. Keep it up!!
Dude is back and did it again made something really cool and make sure you patient the design cause even though most case companies never thought of this they might be watching and possibly stealing your idea
I usually just use my wireless fast charger for my AirPod pros, but I do want to get a case for them. Only one feature missing to make your case perfect is adding a mag safe/lock for drop protection if you intend to upgrade the design in the future :)
This is a very good project and im suprised on the prices being that low for what they are! i personally don't use airpods but if i did i think this would be my go to case
Really cool project! For me personally I would love to have USB-C on all of my devices, but specifically for my Airpods Pro case I really love charging it wirelessly with either the regular wireless charger or the Apple Watch charger and I have either with a USB-C plug on the end. I don't remember when I last charged my Airpods cabled. My iPhone (13 mini), on the other hand, is another story. If I want to charge it fast or if I need to use it in a car for CarPlay I need to remember to bring that pesky lightning cable. Same for my Magic Keyboard.
I'll definitely consider the Airpod Max internal USB-C design. I couldn't believe they went for Lightning. The other 2 things I wish they did was add a physical on/off button because the time it takes to go into standby is shocking and I'm not putting them in the case every time. Finally, why would they not put wireless charging in the headband so you could hand them up when not in use and they charge? It's like Apple purposely give us the weakest iteration each time to try and sell more units.
As much as i love apple products, i bet it's exactly how they are designed. They probably start with a neat full fledged design, with all the bells and whistles, and remove features so they can add them back in the next three to four years, one at a time. How could they sell you a new model every year if last year’s one was already perfect?
One year ago I posted a comment on your AirPods Pro kit assembly guide video asking for this, I don’t really know if you saw that :b but I’m really glad you’ve finally done it. I don’t really have the money to buy that right now, but thank you for making this real ! :)
This looks great, really cool work. Personally I'd prefer if you designed it with the USB-C connector pointed towards one of the sides to preserve the slim shape of the case (and thus its pocketability), though I guess that's a matter of taste more than anything. Having it stand up is far less important than having it slip easily into and out of a pocket IMO. Nonetheless, amazing work!
Just got mine in the mail and this man is a god. Such a fun example of a quality hack. Got both the max and the airpods version for like $90 total. Saved me the $400 upgrade.
I’m kind of shocked that automated blast cabinet isn’t a pressure pot based system for what I assume that price tag must be otherwise. That would really help with consistency.
Ordered my AirPods Pro case. Looking forward to receiving it. Curious if there’s a chance we’ll get iPhone adapters for 12-14 as well. Would love to order some USB C adapter cases for my iPhone 12s.
I have two questions for you: 1. Can you integrate the usb-c port into the replacement shell? Everything would be more compact 2. Can you create something for the powerbeats pro? Thank you!!
I like this idea and it is very useful thank you for sharing. But I have another idea to share with you. In this case if there is a locking system that locks the hinge that would be nice because sometimes when we drop our airports earphones doesn't stay in case. I have dropped my airports in a shopping mall and the left and right pair fell from stairs and then I had to go down floor and pick them up, all the people who are watching and laughed 😅
Cool video, subbed. Also, 6:06 for these cases its common for manufacturers to put a small round plastic sticker on the component for the suction cup to hold on to. Maybe not helpful in your case when you make alot of boards, but for a small batch size it could work.
Just bought one. I am happy to support your work as this is super inspiring really. I am also an ex-EPFL in Zürich and it would be my pleasure to invite you for a beer if you pass by Zurich
It may be out of the scope of your channel, but I would love to see how you designed the AirPods Max 3D model. As someone who designs for 3D printing myself, I’ve always struggled to recreate intricate models with so many curves and shapes. I think it would make for very interesting content. Thanks a lot!
This was like someone read my thoughts. I’ve had my Airpods Max for a few years and love them, but now all my other devices have USB-C so it is the only reason to keep that cable around. Watched your video and immediately ordered one. Can’t wait to get it! Thanks RUclips algorithm!
Could bring the USB-C to the OG port even closer if you make the PCB split in half. So, you have them make you a long FPCB, with a split down the middle, and in manufacturing, you twist it so that the port ends up inside that split, with the two tracks either side, like a ram's horns.
watched the entire video but that plug in adapter on the airpods max was the cherry on top. incredible work as always edit: AND THE STAND UP! FCKKK YOU'RE A LEGEND
I've been wanting to upgrade both sets of my pros for since your original project a year or so ago, never got around to it. In that time both sets have unfortunately become junk, the airpods themselves are so fragile, lots of weird diagraph shaking and noises. Well done, wish I could use it to keep these going!
This is so awesome, I just discovered your channel and subbed! I also have a ton of prototyping & mfg equipment, but have yet to pull the trigger on a Fuse. Great work 💪
hey, I wonder, are you gonna make a new iteration with a much smoother outer shell from now and a hole/extension for carabiner loops/keychains? I would consider buying that in future.
Haven't had anyone complain about the texture yet, quite the opposite actually. But I can understand that it's not for everyone. Stay tuned for the next video where you might see a different finish. For the carabiner thing, yes, but can't tell you when right now. I'm still ironing out the production process and when I'm really confortable with it I will start making new features available :)
These could sell like crazy, i just feel the finish and colour is a bit unsightly. I'm sure getting a good finish is hard to get in your own shed. If they had a shiny white plastic that mimics the original case, and have optional designs with flowers and stuff they'd sell like crazy. Make them more apple like with good designs, create a catchy brand, make tiktoks etc lmao. gl
i'd love if you'd do a case for phone that turn lightning to usb-c like that ! Got a old iphone 5s that i just don't care using because it's the only lightning cable item i got

I have been thinkin abt it but getting the chip is hard.
Now we need an iPhone case for the same purpose - keeping a perfectly fine working device longer without buying a new one.
absolutely!
i actually think that may be in development; at 10:04, if you slow it to 0.25x, it looks like an image of a prototype for the iphone :)
What do you mean, lightning cables are still being sold and probably will be for much longer than these devices weill be supported/usable.
@@hails god damn, nice catch!
@@DoubleU555 I don't want to buy a single lightning cable anymore in my life.
I am so happy to see the reduce reuse repair recycle trend getting bigger across the internet
By adding more plastic, that does not add up. The best way to reduce and reuse is just carry on with a lightning connector.

worries about being out €500 ... buys €12k sandblasting robot.
For 12K, he could have gone with injection molding, bringing the BOM cost of the case down to a few pennies. 😂

Could have gone injection molding way
The ammount of skills and effort to get it looking so clean is insane
concept of a plan is crazy
7:13 felt that. 100$ more on faster shipping just to loose everything
My boy is gonna take a trip to space just for a 2 second clip of narration
Nice one! Just bought one, as I now don't have an iPhone with Lightning anymore. Great possibility for an upgrade without purchasing the same AirPods just for USB-C
Waste of money when you can just buy an adapter for a few dollars
Good job for helping millions of people gain access to usb C without buying a new device
Why buy his product when you can buy a simple adapter that works with everything , I swear no brain with anyone here
Finally a RUclipsr maker that sells his work. I know there are many out there, but a lot of them have the tools, have the engineering genius, but just make stuff for themselves.

The fact you just casually buy the media blaster just makes me mad jealous LMAO
Also the fact you have SLM printing and PCB reflow stuff

The Concept of a plan joke killed me

"I don't know, I'm not an engineer yet"
CONCEPT OF A PLAN😭😭
Based 45
No idea how this guy is able to amaze me over and over again!
“Concept of a plan”! I love it.
Exceptional humor.
Great design.
Perfect video.
I definetly want to see your workshop :)
Insane the kind of production possibilities you have in your studio. Also thanks for making these mods
7:40 the case looks like Tim Cook’s face when he finds out you’re doing what his overpaid engineers in Cupertino couldn’t do 😅
Didn't want to do. That would burn a hole in their pockets. This ain't like when Lancia was forced to buyback their cars.
I'd say the engineers would have loved to to it. its the douchebag exec who want to shaft everyone who cause the sillyness.
I don’t think any engineer regardless of pay could replace the lightning port on my AirPods from the other side of the country.
lmao
Were instructed to do.
Loved the concept of a plan reference
every video is getting better and better
Good job bro
7:36 those cases look VERY optimistic and happy to be a part of the design process. XD
also, you're truly an inspiring engineer and i mean it as the greatest complement i can possibly give out
This is just a gift to humanity. While also making you that money. It just doesn’t get better.
I'm a product design student and seeing these makes me so jealous and inspired at the same time. Love the work!
Good job Exploring the Simulation's grandma! 👍
THEY CAN STAND UP?!?!?!
Kudos to your ingenuity and limitless bank account.
Especially the second part
I am an Android guy, but as an engineer, I do admire this kind of work and dedication. thanks for the great video

Half of the reason for buying AirPods over other alternatives for me was the slim charging case. Great idea for people who put cases on the case.
