Sculpt not working in blender

- This video may or may not be your solution to why you cannot sculpt but since the recent 3.4 updates, I had an issue where I could not sculpt at all! I randomly took a leap of faith and figured out I can't sculpt because I needed to apply a skin modifier.
if you cant sculpt and you use a skin modifier, select the drop-down menu to skin modifier and apply the skin modifier. for me, this solved my issue.

Attention! shape keys can block mesh when you use sculp mode.
Make sure you are using the correct shape keys layer
How?
Changing the shape key value from 0.00 to 1.00 fixed my problem
You have to apply all modifiers if you're sculpting.

@cadmix6163 you have to go into sculpt mode.
Youll see edit mode, object mode. Hit the drop down and selct sculpt

Thank you for this video i was having the same problem don't why none pf the so called expert blender content creators haven't addressed this when it comes to sculpting
it was weir because i updated the software and i then had this issue. lost like 3 months

@Fudgeballs88 yes i just one day started pressing buttons and realized it allowed to to sculpt after applying modifier

This worked for me: in sculpt mode press ALT+M (to unmask the mesh)

Thanks. Everytime I try to use dynotopo, it cuts my sculpt in half and makes it not so smooth.Literally, I click dyntopo and it immediately does that, then I try remesh and it blow it full of holes.

mine still isn't working I switched files like the other guy did and I am still having problems I went to my settings to and nothing in there was casing the problem

@@Riots32 are you in sculpt mode? Have you selected the item before going into sculpt mode.

It keeps just crashing my blender and it won’t let me add any modifiers
I dont know what computer specs you're running, but crashing its commonly due to not enough rams. Or a low-end computer. You need a super computer to do blender
For my case there is not modifier added
Make sure you have all updates, that or you may have to append that project to a new blender project.
I need help I installed blender on my surface pro 8 and sculpt isn't working.
Please describe your computer spec.
I believe you computer is an app processor. Blender is not an app.
You pretty much have a tablet
@@OmniAmity ive seen vids on the surface pro using blender before the device runs it but for some reason sculpt mode isn't working? I'm trying to sculpt but the surface of the object isn't getting edited when click n drag over an area.
Similar to yours on 0:24 but I don't think I have any skin modify on i recently installed blender

I believe its a drop down menu. Topleft. You have to be in sculpt mode. Selct sculpt from top horizontal bar. If not press the pmus sign, add sculpt to horizontal bar.

@@OmniAmity Thank you so much for your response! So if I click on sculpting on the top horizontal bar, and then click on the left drop down bar, I still only have “object mode” and “edit mode” available. Sculpt mode isn’t an option. It’s so weird. My object is mesh so it should work.
@callikeating3618 select your object it should have an orange highlight on it. That or press control A or shift A one of thoes Should highlight your object and allow you to see scult mode.

This video was created during a different version on blender. This may not solve issues with the new version updates.
With that said thier cpuld be many reasons why you specifically are not able to sculpt
