You know what's weird? 3.4 had a Create Pose button in the side panel, but it got removed for seemingly no reason. It's insanely annoying and I hope it makes a return
sometimes things bug out. So I am guessing they encountountered a problem that was going to corrupt their entire program or something and werent able to fix it in time. I say this because, for example, fortnite has a lot of stuff in it and many times during a season, they remove certain items for their ground breaking bugs. So, they had to remove it. All, in all, I just hope that they bring back easier options in blender and it stays there.
Literally went to a tech school for 2 years to learn how to make 3D models and animation, and I just learned more in 10 minutes than I did in that entire 2 years. Wow.
Same, went to interactive animation course in SAE Institute Amsterdam. Garbage college, essentially boiled down to "here watch these youtube videos". To be fair that was 3DSmax and Maya, and Blender is a whole lot more user friendly and easier imo.
@@Wolta im trying to get into more professional 3d animation, and ive been doing it as a side thing for a while and i kind of have basic concepts of blender and know a little on cinema 4d but would you i can keep using blender as my software of choice because out of every 3d Animation softwares ive used its by far the simplest and easiest to learn new things on
Man, this videos are actually top tier, I've seen almost all of the subjects you mentioned but never glued them together, this is a cohesive and complete video, thank you as always!
This video is so comprehensive, its like a survival guide for Blender animation. I've been animating in Blender for a few years now, but there are things in this video that just blew my mind. I actually feel like I leveled up my animation workflow skill tree just from watching this. Thank you for making this video, Joey.
Another solid tutorial! I really appreciate how easy it is to understand, Blender has SO MANY features that make it so powerful but pretty overwhelming at first but these guides really help us get the hang of it!
I've went through University and I'm still learning about 3D character animation everyday. Your rigging and animation videos are so clear, to the point and very helpful!
Since I've found your channel, I've sped up my learning process amazingly fast. Of course I'm no professional by now, but being able to actualy do things in just 2 months of learning blender feels amazing.
whenever i watch these videos i always find the most life altering tip ever. i didn’t know the breakdown tool existed. i never even look at that side of the screen.
I gave up 3D animation a long time ago due to how hard character animation is but, even though I stopped I still watch your character animation tutorials they are so simple and maybe I'll try going back again🥰
I feel like Im learning at the pace you put out videos. NLA editor is completely outside my awareness, the animation modifiers sound great, wiggle bones and live recording sounds like the kind of gmod energy Im missing! All great stuff!
I’m getting my first computer in a few weeks and I’m really excited! I’ve been animating for a few years, but not enough to be a “good” animator, and it’s only 2D animation that I’ve done. I will definitely be revisiting this video for when I get the computer and can download Blender 😆 Thank you!!
Everytime I see one of your videos, wether new or rewatching it, I get SO hyped to go back into blender. This is not an exception, I have a lowpoly model I want to finish, making it from 0 with custom rig basic rig, but this will help me a lot for an advanced rig! Also need to figure out the animated textures and stuff.
Im like 5 mins in and your animation is just like a kid talking shit in ps1 days and i love it. I legitimately forgot how to insert key frames cuz it's a while but all this information is glorious!
Your point about learning from other types of videos is absolutely true. I’m only recently moving from 3DsMAX to Blender but even when I was using Max I was still referencing a lot of Blender videos and adapting them to Max
I like this. Also if any one reading this who is an artist. Sadly it's a trade off if the goal is to reach a point where your own work satisfied you. even with a rigged character it requires a little skill development just to have decent character acting, that's if the goal is that sense of satisfaction with your work.... The funny thing about shortcuts is they are more impactful if you KNOW what the long cut is all about. The worst thing is taking the short cut at the incorrect section of work flow.
started 3d animation not even a day ago and i didnt know hot to animate ty so much now the only thing i need to learn is to put a background into my model and how to do models my self instead of getting one online for free i can already do textures and all just now modeling your channel is the best tuturial channel i have seen tysm
Another free alternative to Miximos auto rig is Accurig and their is a free plug in tht converts the rig to Rigify and you can use rigify controls except for the face rig for now
Some really cool hot keys and shortcuts that I am now aware of, didn’t know you could drag video reference like that! I like how you laid out the different ways to approach animation, I’m going to have to watch this a couple times in the future, definitely a must watch
This is a treasure for someone who has no idea about animation! I'm coming from audio but wanted to get more into making anim and games so that helped me a lot
thank you so much. i'm trying to learn to animate in blender after years of using maya, and the different interface was killing me. this explained basically all the commands that i had in maya (the pose library, motions trail etc) and that i just couldn't find in blender in less than 15 minutes. so i guess it's not only for impatient people but also for animators in crisis lol, good job!
Thanks again your other videos showed me how to save poses as a library I just needed a way to put them together this is exactly what I needed for my game.
"Practice smarter not harder", I like the way that is said as if it were always an option. Being smart usually comes long after doing the hard work. The only short cut I know is to have a teacher walk you through the steps because they are already smarter. The rest of us have to keep working hard hoping to get smart.
i am so impatient i have to comment before the video starts, but i know itll be great your channel has been teaching me a lot so thanks a bunch pal edit: now that ive watched it i gotta say this one is wonderfully funny too these are such a joy to watch
God the frustration of having an idea and not knowing where to start to get it to reality. This will be useful eventually, but I don't know what step of knowledge this is.
1:05 oh my god. commit that to memory. im gonna have to commit this entire video to memory. i was animating by moving bone by bone and while it was fun. Y.E.A.H. time consuming
You seem to be really good at what you do. Thanks for this video. I am thinking about making a small project in unreal with low poly models and animations/models like in ps1 times. I suppose my skillset will be good enough for this. They never used complicated stuff like IK and so on. And to make the project feel like good old days its important to leave out technical advancements.

I miss that button. A lot.
Weird move, because Blender has always been known for its super intuitive GUI that any newbie can just figure out on their own...

8:51 The animation with Egman was made in SFM and Jitter was precisely used, the function of which allows the model’s bones to twitch chaotically.
