To anyone interested, programs used are: Maya (most likely) by Lana, Blender 3D for the rest
omg ty
Not most likely, most definitely
it is maya
As an animator, this is BULL SHIT
@@ReadyMack-g I'm glad RUclips didn't censor you, but I don't understand what you have issue with.
I thought he was going to animate something in 10 minutes and then in 10 years💀
Moment of silence for all us who thought the same 💀
Haha
I watched this video because that title had no sense 😂😂😂

I love how the guy that doesn't know Blender is having the most fun, completely entertained by the nonsense he's pulling 😂
his work was subpar though.. i felt sorry for him.
@@ninibupu Doesn't matter. He had fun, he learned something new. The only thing you did, was waste 20 minutes of your time and give unconstructive criticism.
this guy felt sorry for a guy whos having fun???
@@ninibupu ???
@@ninibupu damn you must be an unhappy person
I do love her tip: let the first and last impression tell a story. This sounds like a game changer. I do think of using this in writing. Thank you
it applies in writing for every single page…. obviously you want every page to tell (add) onto the story??😭 is that not just common sense
@@nk794it's so obvious that it's kinda good to think about it more
Yeah, that's also what stood out to me. Very lovely advice.
Stephen: "Maybe he just hung out"
Atrioc: "WARPED HIS MIND AND BODY AND SOUL"
I feel like this series should really just be "two industry 'professionals' bully atrioc"
wdym they getting humbled by atrioc
the cybergun
I’d agree with you, but the dude’s having so much fun every step of the way that it’s honestly kinda hard to feel bad for him lol. He’s having the time of his life
calling them professionals is literal but a little to much,
@@jinz4246one of them is definitely a professional
That lady is so talented
The way she sees how his head needs to be and the tweaks seem so seamless. I wish I was her.
Start now, practice 10 years and you can do things maybe like her.
@@616Metalhead616 Exactly!
todos sao talentosos o caso e que algun estao a brincar
Yeah I agree her skills really impressed me
Bro you think 10 years of animation is “talent”?
this video series needs to never stop.

I love how much personality Lana gave little liam here
I like how she’s casually doing extra shit and it’s so effortless 😂
A little something I think they should have mentioned; the 2 guys were using the "world" control for the motion and jumping for their characters, and Lana left hers in place. Animating with that control is honestly one of the most difficult things. Major props for the attempt dudes.
Thank you!!!
lmaooooo something about 10 min guy having the most creative ideas paired with his severe inexperience is making for the funniest shit I've seen all day
Relatable tbh 😭
@@pepitocovid-91 no deadass, his was basically my first experiences in blender. “That doesn’t work, don’t know why lmao”
shes so good man. I LOVEEE seeing industry professionals flex their skills outside of their job
I love how she was kind of nervous, but after seeing the other animations her confidence sky rockets
I think we saw the complete 4 levels of mastery here. I love the freedom that the 10 year and the 10 minute artist has. The ten week artist seems too constrained, but has a really solid jump.
i think the matter with the ten week artist is that he's in a mindset of improving, rather than expressing, so he's paying a lot of attention to real-life mechanics rather than interesting animation. he's not quite able to express himself, but he's applying knowledge.
Exactly! This is a perfect demonstration.
Yes. That one is the most frustrating phases of learning animation and I think the longest one lol
@@MrJayVFX Actually it was ten days not weeks and they were 3 people so 3 levels of mastery
two people are animating, one guy is just bored.
accurate!
Quem está entediado? O cara de 10 minutos? kkkkk
who is bored? lol
@@Zinzinnovichthe guy who made the guy walk on a wall twice and unrealistic stuff
@@mrman55555 what do you mean his was the most realistic
what's interesting to me is that atrioc and lana both have the same freeform approach, and the guy in the middle is doing stuff very carefully and sort of 'procedurally'. it sort of shows the learning process, you know?
great insight
it's like that bell curve meme, lol
I LOVE how Lana gave Liam so much personality, even though she only had to make him jump from one place to another. The poses are so smart, and I could definitely infer some things about him. UGH she’s so talented!!!
Can someone PLEASE tell Pixar to stop asking me for Atrioc's contact info?
Take a hint. Sheesh.
Haha, funny.
cybergun
why does pixar want his contact info? just tell him ITS PIXAR what would they want???
You should do a cod themed mission animation

Im a student at university for 1 year now for Computer Animation. Been enjoying these colabs! My teenage son has been animating in Blender much longer than i have been using Maya and i thought about me and him going at it. Self taught teen using Blender vs 1 year animation student using Maya. Would be fun. Cant wait to see what you guys come up with next.
maya focuses like much in animations
While blender is like both in modeling and animating
Modeling in maya is pain
@@FileName2 Maybe it's because I was taught but modeling in Maya for me is hella easy. Literally just WRE keys. Right click is a menu, shift right click is a menu. Done. I try to model in Blender and everything is so far apart to access it makes it confusing. Obviously if I spend more time using blender it will be ome easy. My son when he models he is hopping through all the shortcuts just as fast as I am in Maya. So it comes down to if you spend the time. Sculpting and modeling in Maya is pretty much the exact same as Blender. Capability wise I mean. But we use ZBrush to focus on sculpting. I prefer Nomad Sculpt on my iPad personally.
@@FileName2I feel that many criticize Maya’s features without giving them a fair chance. It's like dismissing the benefits of going to the gym because it's initially challenging.
@@AppNastyif you've started in Maya stick to it buddy. The truth is a lot of small sutios use blender because its free, so they profit more. Big studios use Autodesk. Regardless which software is “better”.
One last thing, there is a lot and I mean a lot of misinformation online on how to model, texture ext… surrounding blender. Alot of people use blender for a few months think they are an expert and make tutorials that encourage bad practice.
4:56 "So im just gonna shift him forward. UAHGHGG"
atrioc is smashing it when i first did 3d animation i was placing cubes everywhere and i had no idea what to do
There's 0 chance this is just from 10 minutes practice, hes obviously practiced at least hours.
I gotta say though, the idea from Atrioc is amazing. Like it absolutely looks scuffed, but you gotta respect the creativity. If he could animate as smoothly as Lana then it would have looked so cool
damn the 10 minutes guy have done a lot of fun things,he's such a crack and now I want to do a walljump animation hahahaha, thanks him for gaving me the idea
The ten minutes one is how my spine feels.
Lana is amazing, i watched her video of animating a character at blizzard i think, it was really helpful.
She’s so incredibly talented!!
Been trying to learn blender so my algorithm is filled with 3d videos and I definitely didn't expect Glizzy Hands himself to pop up in a video about animation lmao
Love how the cyber gun continues to be mentioned in these videos 😂
I started learning animation recently and this was really cathartic! Been enjoying the series a lot but excited for what you do next
Two people are trynna make it as ealistic as possible one guy is trynna animate spider man
The third one clearly is a pro animator lol. The movements and speed fluctuation are perfect.
She didn't get assistant director for nothing haha
I did not expect to see former BlizzLana here. Loved her work on Heroes of the Storm.
11:50 HELP I CAN’T💀🤣
Lana has you are my hero, thanks for working on the StarCraft 2 animations
Hey! I had a few classes in uni with Lana. Not surprised she's kicking ass as an animator.
this series is the only reason ive watched this channel, please keep going.
Isto: animation complete, good job me
Professional: I’m Nothing I’m trash
Atrioc: BAAAAAHAHAHAHAH
I love these videos; it's so humbling to see how everyone has a good time knowing what they can and can not do.
that transition at 13:00 was kinda smooth
Nice eye.
underrated
4:58 you know you did something bad when you control z something that fast
This is a great concept! It shows the difference in skill which is something so useful to see. You often don't understand WHY something works so well until you see it side by side with something made by less experienced people. I really appreciate you putting yourself out there and show how a lack of skill is no reason to not try stuff your unfamiliar with. It's a great mindset for developing your expertise.
As a side note: What a great approach to engaging with your community by creating content not focused on your games. I really feel you bring something unique that many other devs don't and I wish you that it reflects in your growth!
PS: That final composition looks amazing and I love how you've shown both your inexperience and your astounding skills! That sound design was - ugh! - so _crispy_
Lana, I wish I could download your animation knowledge/experience into my head. Nicely done
this was my exact thought 😂
Props to the 10 minute guy going in hard
Just so you guys know, this concept is pure gold. I was shocked to see there's only 3 of these, but I would happily watch these videos where it's just different projects and you guys are competing on to do the best with your own levels of experience. I would even suggest doing videos using Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator. As someone actively learning about these softwares it was a really nice break to watch these types of videos because I got to learn how the experts did it differently but still relate with the newbie. If you keep this series going I guarantee you'll hit a million subscribers.
Really goes to show that Atrioc must have been great at his job in marketing if I was by far the most excited to see his presentation
i give the handstand flip wall run a 10
14:36 for ppl who wanna skip everything and just see there animations when the first guy go's 15:11 next guy 16:23 Final animation 17:36.
Oof wish I'd seen this before
im obsessed with this series

9:35 "what if I put the cybergun in the background" had me on the floor 🤣
Seeing the finished 10 year animation gave me chills. Just goes to show if you keep doing something for long enough getting better is just a happy consequence.
I had so much fun watching this, I hope you guys continue with this in the future!
😳☝️ And then his neck pops out 🗣️
I need to follow more animator/developers on twitch. I love watching this stuff.
Damn, no wonder why Spirit Blossom Ahri's animations are so smooth!
As someone named Liam, I can agree we do wallrun and handstands!
"SO I'm just going to shift him foward" .... "EUGHHHHHHH"
15:16 Thats a very nice idea with the parcour, i like it 👍 And it gives me joy, if somebody is having fun in trying something new and doodleling around, that's the spirit 😄
16:21 Wow, such a huge improvement in just 2 days, amazing 😲 you definitely have talent and are very smart, keep it up 👍
17:30 Awesome. Just awesome 🔥🔥🔥 But to be honest, I have expected this level of quality from a professional Animation-Veteran, who worked at Blizzard and Riot Games for that long 😏 But the best part for me is, that she's giving advise to others 😊
Guy who animated 10 mins is just me when i try to build something good
Atrioc: Having fun until he breaks it
Stephen: Trying to make it look realistic
Lana: Giving the character personality
I loved it💜💜
14:42 for results
3:45 BRO DID THE GRIDDY
if I don't see me jump correctly I shall send a strongly worded letter to blender to remove the file - me aka person called liam
omg lana animated my fav lux skin?? and ive found this vid for a school assignment because i wanna do animation as well, i think this is a sign....
I think it’s interesting how this shows the different perspectives/progressions learning how to do animation in general! The 10 minute guy is just having fun. He’s not worried about the technically of it all, he’s just having fun. The 10 day guy is following the basic rules and making it look more realistic (for lack of a better explanation) simply getting from point A to point B. Finally, the 10 year chick makes it follow some of those rules (A to B) while also having fun with it and making it stylized.
11:50 i laughed so hard but still admired
"So I'm actually just gonna shift him forward... AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHH"
"So I'm just gonna actually shift him forward- *gasp* " That was the funniest thing I've ever heard
" I used to work at blizzard..."
I'm sorry you had to go through that hell
Please keep doing more videos espcially with Atrioc!!
17:26 her participation in this video in a nutshell
the best part in the whole this in "IVE AINIMATED A KICK"
Since the very first second of the video I thought Atrioc will subdivide everything into madness again
15:11 - The guy wearing a cap just murdered the character 😂 I can't 🤣 At some point during his animation, I actually started feeling sorry for the avatar 😂
I'm more impressed by the other guy who has been animating for just 10 days. Dude is great!
Did not expect that collab but love it
Woman who started at Blizzard....I am so sorry to hear that
Very awesome wit, I really love that flex pose in the mid of air lol
All three demonstrated admirable traits, each in their own right, indicative of why they've seen success in their respective fields.
Atrioc: Ability to maintain a humble and cheery attitude towards a hopeless task; not many have the character to direct and sustain the mood and attitude to be fun and entertaining like he has.
Stephen: Wrestling with unbridled potential of what could be done yet not having the skill to realise it. Courage to invest time to learn and practice an unfamiliar craft yet still risk failure and poor results.
Lana: Matured, seasoned skill. Being able to articulate the reasons behind why she does what she does indicates the years of dedication that've went into learning and honing the artistry of her craft.
AY, but with only 10 minutes of experience it’s is really dope.
I love the stuff like the first guy cause it's just a dude having fun learning something new. Obviously the pro fuckin nailed it, but I love the free spirited 'fuck it' we go big with the first guy haha. Good stuff all around
if i was one of them i would've made it so when they jump he hits the edge of the cliff with his stomach starts falling and then pulls himself up
nice little foley at the end there ^_^ cool video, pretty sure it came from youtube recommended. Keep up the good work.
Lana didn't have to flex so hard 😂
I didn't know any of you guys before, but if Atrioc's the one making the animations for your game, I'm playing it.😎 (it was so funny to watch)
You all did amazing!! Lana's animation was soo good!!
I'm new to blender and animations, only did 2 in my whole life, years apart & self taught other than some short tutorials, but somehow I think I'm closer to Stephen's level of animating already, in the sense of smoothness and stuff (but i dont know a lot of things n stuff), I really wanna practice more but I dont have the time😭
Should've gotten a 10 weeks / months
I was crying in laughter as the 10 day guy was talking about how the 10 minutes guy had done a super simple animation was hanging out and cutting to said animator XDDD
14:39 Playblast! How did I forget that concept! It was the second most helpful thing I had learnt back in animation class (first being the 12 principles). Thank you for reminding me of it. I hope Blender has that option too, since I had to switch to it from Maya and Max.
i feel like 10 month animator is missing to really tell how the progression aprox goes.
I liek the 10 min part of the thumb a lot better. Adds an artistic touch to show the rig controls.
I’ve been animating for probably about a year maybe just short and character animation is the hardest thing.
this should be a netflix series I love it so much
0:05 AYOO What is Stephen doin. The guy who trolled someone 😂😂😂
I just got suggested this video by the RUclips algorithm (literally from a NERD song) so I have no idea who any of these people are lol but this was awesome!
Entertaining enough to have a *first-time* viewer sit through a 20 minute video?! That's a gift - a shame to squander it by not continuing the series! But at least I can go watch the others for the first time now 😊
All I see is Schlatts distant cousin and I don't know if that's a compliment or an insult
10min dude is hilarious who is he? i literally cackled many times
His youtube is Atrioc. Does mostly business/gaming stuff but is really funny
honestly imo the animator of 10 years could have done a tuck and roll at the end it would of looked really cool!
the ten years one made liam look zesty
It’s been a real pleasure (skipping to the end) seeing the results. Very entertaining.
The final one is literally neon 360 into el primo dive with chamber teleport animation at the end. If u know u know.
10 min animator put his soul in this project hahaslkdjfah I loved that guy
