I am amazed by the knowledge this guy has in Blender. He knows geometry nodes, modeling, and rigging and is very good at animation. Congratulations on your hard work.
Thank you for this, it was very informative. I love your wiggle distortion effect combined with noise, fantastic! Do you have a tutorial where you elaborate on this further? This is one of my fave Blender channels.👍
I've been waiting for this! Thank you! Also a surreal feeling when I saw my name! This is pure Gold information. I'll be re-watching this and returning to it the future to refresh my memory. Sync to visible range is a game changer! the workflow its super helpful and touching on the NLA editor is what I've been needing. I've gotten to the step I need it and use it if I really have to. It helps when I can figure it out this helps a lot. But its quirks are confusing!!!! I'll embrace it now! I've wasted hours looking for the information you gave so perfectly in just a few minutes . And awesome tips at the end! Thanks again!
Can you make another video breaking down on animating in blender, like how the keyframes work, how exporting animation works because this video is useful
Thanks for sharing this, Joey..... super helpful and great ideas in this video :) I'm making my own animation stuff too and always on the look out for tips like these ones :)
I’m relatively new to 3d and have always wondered how to pull off that “line boil” affect in 3d. I’m using maya but REALLY need an incentive to switch to blender
As always, incredible content and 100% relatable, after a lot of failed animations I decided to stop pursuing human animation, but I might return to it with this tips. (You can see my horrible animation attempts in my 1 year progression vid), btw I also tried to automatically animate hand movements with kinda IK but for the fingers, it didn't result as expected but maybe you coyld talk a little bit more about automatic animation
One thing about the NLA editor that personally annoys me in a major way is that it's one of the last places in Blender with a CONSISTENT crash point, at least on my end. Maybe it's something wonky with my setup but still. If you move more than one strip at a time, it crashes Blender. Consistently.
I feel really stupid now that I realized that the NLA editor is basically Maya's animation layers system I thought Blender didn't have... I've been doing things so wrong this whole time...
In your defense, the NLA editor is confusing and not very good. You can do great things with it, but it seems like a lot of people don't know what it's capable of
Hey I was wondering if you can make a Accessory/Weapon tutorial for rigs. I have this pirate hat I want to use for my character however I have trouble thinking about how if the character wants to take it off.
why my animation which is made in action editor in dope sheet in blender is replaced by a new pose I made in pose library and when I delete that new pose all things work well So What I have to do to create a new body pose in blender????
For anyone who's an expert in this subject: I want to try a learn blender but my laptop is not good. It can run spore and currently has about 50-60 GB free (I think), would that be enough storage for blender to function properly? Edit: I have finally got a better Laptop!

YOU CAN USE LAYERS?! OMFG I'VE BEEN DOING THIS ON ONE LAYER FOR YEARS 😂😂😂
pose library for lip sycing, great idea
I’ve become a recent fan of this channel. Just such a wealth of knowledge, I’m legitimately excited when I see a new upload
So helpful Joey- if you aren't geting paid to animate/create yet, you should (deserve to) be.
Thanks! Luckily I'm able to support myself on these RUclips videos, Patreon, and digital download sales.
12:44 what is that goofy dance bro 😭 I LOVE IT
this is the best example of working smarter and not harder, man the more you make the quicker the next video using the same stuff is , awesome !!!!
Your channel is one of the best I found on RUclips 👏 the explanation is very comprehensive
I'm excited for your new, upcoming, lego video!
Either way, your advice is one of the best. Thanks for all these videos.
Imma spend the next 10 years developing my yt channel , you're a great help right now
This is all really helpful. Great video as always :)
This video is really helpful in the sense that I can see just how much Blender can do in a "under the hood" sense.
Heck yeah, can't wait to take this advice in the new year
that jitter/wiggle geonodes setup was really helpful. I'm sure I'll use a few more of these tricks as well, many thanks for sharing.
i love your videos man keep up the hardwork they are awesome.
Thanks!
2:23 I choked on my tea.
Nice!!! NLA is challenging, however, the idea lies in making such tasks easier.
You make it look really easy thank you for this amazing videos !!!
THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES OVER! all of this info is so very appreciated!!!
Thats the best tutorial of how to make things in one place
Thank you for this, it was very informative. I love your wiggle distortion effect combined with noise, fantastic! Do you have a tutorial where you elaborate on this further? This is one of my fave Blender channels.👍
Thanks! I can put a video about the wiggle distortion on my second channel soon
Terrific! I look forward to it.Thanks.@@JoeyCarlino
That's a lot of work man, respect.
Thank you for your efforts, your videos while short are very practical and contain useful content... Thank you very much ❤
Love your vids Joey! They have been huge help to me as a beginner!
I've been waiting since the last vid for exactly this moment
This is so sick!
My head is gonna blow, I can’t watch it in one approach)

Thanks for another amazing video Joey!
good stuff and fun to see your workflow
Love your videos, man. Happy holidays!
Thanks for the tips! It really helps me out in learning Blender!
Really been enjoying your videos, I've used Blender in the bast (pre 3.0) and your tutorials are a great way of relearning things
That's a lot of a lot to take in on one go... methinks I'll be coming back to this video quite a bit over time until I find my own workflow. 😳😅
From new years I decided to remake one of my aniamtions as I figured I improved
Finally!!! "The start"
Happy new year 🙃
Awesome work bro 10/10 👏🏻🙂
Great as always. Apart from all the amazing Blender help you provide your sense of humor is fantastic!
10/10 intro
Your lip syncing looks really good. I know why now.
Can you make another video breaking down on animating in blender, like how the keyframes work, how exporting animation works because this video is useful
I need to learn how to make that face switching rig
Can you pls make a tutorial on how you ise the wiggle 2 addon pls🙏
I'll put one on the second channel soon
@@JoeyCarlino Thank you ✨
Awesome thanks!!
10/10 video imo (even though its very different from how i do things lol)
i can see this helping people! and even learned abit from this so thats cool
14:54 Biblicly accurate Joey
Can you do a tutorial for the eye switching node set up and the drivers?
Maybe on the second channel
Thanks for sharing this, Joey..... super helpful and great ideas in this video :)
I'm making my own animation stuff too and always on the look out for tips like these ones :)
Thanks blender for making a software so great for free men! nice vid
I’m relatively new to 3d and have always wondered how to pull off that “line boil” affect in 3d. I’m using maya but REALLY need an incentive to switch to blender
it is possible to convert the character for vtuber purposes?

I was so worried that Blender didn’t have animation layers 😭😭😭
In Max, it’s a standard part of our work flow
One thing about the NLA editor that personally annoys me in a major way is that it's one of the last places in Blender with a CONSISTENT crash point, at least on my end. Maybe it's something wonky with my setup but still.

I haven't noticed that, but it doesn't surprise me at all, haha. I'm really looking forward to the redesign

Awesome
hearing my friend's music like immediately caught me so off guard woah. nobonoko
Hey I was wondering if you can make a Accessory/Weapon tutorial for rigs. I have this pirate hat I want to use for my character however I have trouble thinking about how if the character wants to take it off.
Look up the child of constraint, that's what you want
@@JoeyCarlino thanks :)
Is your character's blinking also automated and controlled through the NLA editor?
The blinking is automated with geometry nodes. You can see the setup when I talk about eye switching
@@JoeyCarlino Thank you!
My character rig uses nothing but shape keys for the mouth. I have drivers and bones set up to change the mouth shape.
why my animation which is made in action editor in dope sheet in blender is replaced by a new pose I made in pose library and when I delete that new pose all things work well So What I have to do to create a new body pose in blender????
how did you do the wavy dot background?
If its the one I'm thinking of, then its a plane being displaced with geometry nodes, with things instanced on all the points
How do you make the power Point presentations?
Davinci resolve for the text stuff, the animation is with blender
HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR AVATAR AUDIO
For anyone who's an expert in this subject: I want to try a learn blender but my laptop is not good. It can run spore and currently has about 50-60 GB free (I think), would that be enough storage for blender to function properly?
Edit: I have finally got a better Laptop!
yeah, you don't need much storage to learn blender. The laptop I learned on had 250gb total, 8gb ram, and a bad integrated GPU
Of course
woah
proud to be the 2,000th like :3
pog
whats better render as png or avi jpeg or is it just prefrence
I render as png, but exr is good too. Polyfjord has a helpful video about it
