I'm currently following the donut tutorial and I've done exactly what you've said but the inflate tool is affecting the donut instead of the icing. Please help!
Yeah, used that approach and when I try to paint plane with texture to make a terrain tile out of it, whenever I follow what you say it forget it's material and texture...
@@MichaelBullo Not working. At least in Blener 4, tbh don't know if the method used has textures and materials in mind. In the moment I try to sculpt the way you show, texture hide away.
@@ggshout3019 I’ve been re-reading your post and I think I might now understand your issue. When you activate Dyntopo you might want to read the message that appears. Among things that it breaks are UVs, which is what Blender uses to map faces to your textures.
ive found some of the tips very helpful, thankyou but my sculpting sorta just decrease or does the opposite of the desired paintbrush, like it deflates the mesh, thankyou again
For anyone whose Sculpt Mode brush suddenly stop affecting their model, and they find this otherwise useless video, check if you have chosen a Shape Key other than Basis. The brush will not work until you select away from the model's shape keys. You're welcome! :)
@@splitdragon3004 There could be lots of different things going on with your model. I suggest you post a screen shot of your model along with the issue on a Blender forum. Best of luck.

Are the donut and the icing separate objects? If so, it sounds like you have the wrong one selected when you went into Sculpt mode.
Life saver! Thanks alot.
Awesome. Thank you.
Thank you so much, you saved my sanity
Happy to have helped you from going crazy ;) Thank you.

I don't follow. Do you have an issue or is it working?

If you are using the Draw brush, perhaps your Direction is set to negative instead of positive. Look at the options running along the top of Blender.
I can't find the smooth shading option in the Dyntopo option :(
Did you go back into Object Mode?
thx
Cheers

Thanks mate. Best of luck learning sculpting in Blender.
I don’t even have sculpt as an option on the top left and it won’t work
Can you provide more details? Do you have a mesh selected?
didnt work for me stil cant sculpt
Are you starting with a brand new file?
*insert thank you Michael Scott scene*
That's what she said
its turning into a cube every time
Are you starting with a cube?
that stretched my mess so that did not help
I don't understand. Have you tried this with the default cube?
@@MichaelBullo How do we fix it if we dont want to use a default cube? Like a whole model and it wont let you draw
