And that's what I call a youtube video jam packed with useful advice and to the point, instead of irrelevant bs junk. THANK YOU!
Glad you like it!!
There certainly is a lot of information but for a noob and with playback x.5 its still hard to catch.
That front-faces and accumulate tip made be subscribe. Thank you
Thanks!!
SOOOOO HELPFUL!!! - That tip for 'front faces only' is a GODSEND - I was going MAD wondering WHY TF the mesh was distorting BEHIND where I was sculpting!!!
glad it helped!
Short and useful, full ready-to-start guide. Usually I'm not "like" on youtube but, man you deserve it.
my like was 800 btw
Thank you so much!
After dozens of videos, I found what I was looking for, thanks for the quick explanation. 🙏🙏
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for showing this very helpful tutorial and happy sculpting with blender.

I don't know if it's helpful to you, but ctrl+space on the desired window also maximizes it without having to close or reshuffle windows, hitting ctrl+space again will toggle back and forth.
Yes, I know about that. But thanks for sharing : )
Great tut!!!
Thank you!
i thought ill never going to sculpt. your video is short not boring and explains all of the information that required quicky and practically not like the other teaching boolsh*t tutorials, thanks
thanks for watching.
Thank you

How to set up hotkeys? Like specifically how to set up dragging with mouse buttons
that's awesome!!!
Thanks!
how do you set up a graphics display for blender, great videos
I have a Cinque 27QHDT, I cannot get volume to apply with the pen, the mouse works fine, I should be slapping great chucks on but it's just like a paint brush.
Can you create a video for how to setup the hotkeys for sculpting mode? It's difficult to figure out what setup is needed, middle mouse button for drag isn't useful when sculpting. pan / rotate / zoom needs to be connected to the pen + hotkey but from the start this is not the initial setup for the hotkeys.
Great help thx. How do you increase the UI zoom? Like on Windows the 3 dot menu on the top right click to increase 100% or 120% etc ?
do you mean how large the fonts etc are within Blender?
if so, you can change that in:
edit tab - preferences - interface - resolution scale
Obrigado!!!
you're welcome!
How can I add more pressure to the Wacom pen ? With my finger works well but with the pen…not so much volume
very useful thank you!
what stand do you use for your huion tablet?
My Huion tablet comes with a stand built into it.
Hey Ryan, what about the focal lens? Do you adjust it higher from the standard 50mm? How do you stop your sculpts from looking different in perspective view vs ortho view? Or do you just work in ortho solely?
PS: thank you for all the helpful and clear content you create!!
I like to use a focal length of 80, I think it just looks nice. And I stay in perspective view when sculpting. I don't use orthographic view for sculpting. Glad you find my videos helpful!
@@RyanKingArt thank you very much for your reply Ryan!
Hey bro do u have a full beginner tutorial of blender?
Yes I do, but its a little outdated. I made it over a year ago.
Is it possible to make a lesson on how to set up the computer? what setting for better performance etc ?
thanks for this
Hmm, I don't really know what settings I would change for better performance.
I'm in 3.0 and I do not see "Accumulate" under Brush settings. Has this moved or under a different name now?
No, its still there. It might be the brush you have selected. Try using the clay strips brush.
Great video. Two questions. Will these settings save inside of blender? and Also do you have a video on what are the best express keys to setup on a drawing tablet or know where I can find on?
You can save them by saving the startup file. My drawing tablet doesn't have any programmable keys, other then the pen buttons, so I just use default, and then use my keyboard.
Do you happen to know why my cursor is red in sculpt mode? It's not letting me sculpt my mesh with any other tool except the one that let's you grab the mesh..🤔
wow, thanks! this helped a lot!
Glad it helped!
my setup change for every blend file cause i just need random things all the times xD
Yeah, lol.
Why can’t I sculpt/draw a face on a rounded cube?
When I click on one of the surfaces nothing happens but when I click on the edges they move around…
I just want to draw a face on the side of the cube cause my character has a cube for a head. Can someone help me with this please?
Do you have any modifiers on the object. You need to apply all modifiers before you start sculpting. Also, you might like to turn on the Dyntopo feature. That way, it will add clay as you sculpt, so you shouldn't have that issue with not being able to sculpt on the faces.
@@RyanKingArt i have this issue too , and i do everything u said but it didn't work
hello, I find your videos interesting and I have been following you for a while. I am using a drawing as a subject and image in the blender workspace to sculpt an object. but the object that I sculpt covers my view of the dusegno ... is there a way to decrease the opacity of the object to be sculpted to make it slightly transparent and look at the drawing so as to follow the shapes you want to sculpt?
Hmm, I can think of one thing that you could try. In the top left of the 3d view, there is a, toggle X ray mode button. Its an icon of two squares. Click that, and you should be able to see through your mesh.
@@RyanKingArt hi thanks, I tried but I didn't find the toogle X-Ray ... I tried another way with in nodes .. I used the mix-shader including the material used and the transparent shader in the input ... in fact at the output I could have the transparency of the material, which transparency can I change (in the edit on the right of the material) in the transparency functionality. anyway thanks anyway! yours is a great tutorial channel for first-time sculpting steps
That's a cool idea. I use the canvass in Fusion 360 as guide to sketches. So same thing would be good in Blender. I like to make an offset plane then sketch on that. It's not necessary, but seems to keep the design in order for me. Blender should ahve the same feature, and maybe called something else.
i just purchased a display tablet, how do you navigate blender? do you use mouse and keyboard alongside your tablet? its kinda annoying swapping back and forth
No, you can use the buttons on the pen, to move around. And you can also hold down the control and shift keys, while clicking with the tablet pen buttons, to zoom and pan.
@@RyanKingArt I have setup "emulate 3 button mouse", so i can pan and zoom with Ctrl+Alt_+Shift but i still find myself using my keyboard alot, to resize my brush and to undo changes etc. feels a bit wierd, maybe i will get used to it. I have 2 buttons on my pen, one of them acts as middle mouse button so i can move around when i press it. The other acts like Ctrl so it swaps from extrude/indent on my brush. Does this sound right?
@@ripsy most common way is one button as middle mouse click, and the other as right click. You don't need emulate three button mouse, that's for mac users i think. To zoom, it's just middle mouse + control and swipe pen up or down. For pan, it's middle mouse on pen + shift key and move pen. For orbit it's just middle mouse and move pen.
Some Tablets have extra shortcut keys on the tablet itself, but personally find it easier to use the keyboard. Yeah the keyboard can be annoying, especially when you can't see the keys due to the angle etc, but there are waaay too many shortcuts to accommodate them all even on a tablet with extra keys.
I find it best to put my keyboard and tablet at and angle from each other as it makes it easier to keep my left hand rested on the keys I use most, that way I learned where to press without having to look in most cases, and also makes it so the tablet and kb are closer together.
Hopefully that helps.
Thanks, got the hang of it now. Just takes a bit to get comfortable with it
It would be much easier to follow if you use the plugin that shows what keypresses you're making
ahh yeah sorry I didn't turn on the screen cast keys in this video.
Whats the difference between Ico Sphere and the default sculpture Sphere? Why not use the default sculpture Sphere?
The Ico Sphere has more even geometry, while the normal sphere has more vertices on the top and bottom. Either one works, but I just prefer the ico sphere.
@@RyanKingArt Thanks for the info 👍👍👍👍
Nice video mate.
Please upload on Udemy as well. Not everyone use gumroad.
Thanks! I will look into Udemy.
why my object is not brown colour
I think that's because you need to change the matcap.
how do you get to icosphere settings there isn't an option for me in the bottom left
you could just add a regular sphere instead.
How do I get my blender screen to show up on my display tablet?
Hmm, is your tablet displaying anything? If so, you should just be able to drag it over into the window. Check your Display or monitor settings on your computer, to make sure the tablet is set up right.
@@RyanKingArt I haven't received it in the mail yet, I was just curious.
@@andrewvirtue5048 Ahh ok.
@@andrewvirtue5048 Yeah it works just like a regular monitor, but you can draw on it.
can I do without a display tablet I have drawing tablet with no screen
Yes, using a pad tablet with no screen works great too : )
Hey I'm new, I have a problem with sculpting. After a series of modifications to the cube with various tools, I can no longer sculpt it. How can I fix this?
hmm, hard to know what the problem is when I can't see the blend file.
@@RyanKingArt Can I send you the blend file and where can I send it?
Hello Ryan! I'm thinking about buying a pen tablet to learn sculpting! Do you think levels of pressure is a important aspect? I have the option to buy a 2048 or a 4096 with the same size, what's your thoughts?
Hello! Yes, I think having pen pressure on a tablet is very important. Tablets with either 2048 or 4096 levels of pressure will be fine. Just as long as you have some pen pressure, it will really help!
@@RyanKingArt Thank you man! ;)
Do you have any advice on how to set up a Wacom Tablet for Linux Mint?
It automatically works when I plug it in to my computer. I can use it but I can't figure out how to get change any of the settings or anything. There is a graphics tablet option in my menu but when I click on it nothing happens. (Sorry, I know this is borderline what you do on your channel)
If you go to your menu and search for graphics tablet, There should be a "graphics tablet" setting on Linux Mint. If you play around with those settings, hopefully that will work.
alright question, how do i do that thing where you sculpt on one side it mirrors on the other side
I go over that at: 2:09 in the video.
@@RyanKingArt k thx, i mustve missed it
hey thank you for the tips, I was wondering if you have tips for left handed artists, I struggle managing keyboard shortcuts (most are on left side of the keyboard) Also, I happen to have same tablet as you and that got me to wonder what shortcuts you mapped on the pen buttons?
thanks
Hello. Thanks for watching the video. I am actually left handed as well. I place my keyboard on the right side of the tablet, and use my right hand to press the control and shift and other keys with my right hand. And I use my left hand for sculpting with my tablet. I show how I do this in my Sculpting Beginner Tutorial. As far as the pen buttons go, I just left them as the defaults. So my front pen button acts as the middle mouse button, and the back pen button acts at the right mouse button. Hope this helps.
I have a question, how do you keep both sides of a model visible when using the sculpt mode on a model you made previosly? Everytime I activate simetry when sculpting it cuts the model in half and only shows me one side. Its really annoying and I couldnt dind anything to solve the problem
You might have the mirror modifier on your object. Try applying the mirror modifier before you go into sculpt mode.
Hi Ryan, I have an issue that every time I get into orthographic view then I press alt to move around, it always cause my object to disappear and I have to scale a good amount of distance so that I can get back to see my object in the perspective view. Do you have any idea how to get the distance between those views way closer so that I can navigate better?. By the way, I don't think the focal length has anything to do here. Thank you so much!
Hmm, I've not had this issue before. If you press 5 on the numpad, that will toggle orthographic and perspective view. Also, you could just scale your object smaller. Does this happen in every blender file? Or just one?
Where can I check the size of my model? I can't find it, but I fear I may be using a scale waaay to small and when I try to 3D print it loses detail. THX!
if you press T, in the 3d view, that will open the side panel. Then you can click on the measure tool, and measure your model.
@@RyanKingArt Wow! Super helpful!! I will try it. Thank you so much!!
I still don't understand how people can mirrored half side while sculpting
Oh. You don't understand? Do you do traditional sculpting?
@@RyanKingArt i just learned how to sculp, when i try to make some shape, it didn't mirrored on the other side just like you did or other did
@@crissarodaeli3793 Oh, did you turn on the symmetry?
Fun and all but I can’t even delete the thing at 7 seconds 😭
Press A, to select everything. Then click on X, and then click on Delete. You can also use the delete key.
I think, what people rather wanna know is how to setup Blender, such that it looks like yours, when you go into Shading? You know, such that it initially splits vetically, it doesn't have this ugly default world and is completely gray. I really don't get it
I cant use sculping
oh ok. why not?
Пояему он выглядит как Папич?...
Hiii i don't even know if my comment will be seen one day lmao but I can't sculpting in blender (even if it's with my mouse) and it sucks
Can you explain in more detail? What exactly isn't working when you try to sculpt? did you add a high detailed mesh so that it has detail to work with when your sculpting?
@@RyanKingArt Hi! I 'm surprise you responded to me
When I'm trying to sculpt it does nothing special, even if I change the radius, or strength, I tried with the hardness too but nothing change (and it happens when I'm using my mouse or graphic tablet)
Humm I'm a little beginner for sculpting on blender and i don't really know how to add a high detailed mesh I searched the term you are using but I don't find something interesting to help me
I have bought your product Dark Scifi, and now I want to ask about my problem, can you show your email, because I want to send image
Hello. Please contact me through the product support from where you bought the model, and I will help you with any problems you have.
@@RyanKingArt oke thanks bro
@@RyanKingArt hey bro, my problem is resolved, so if you have message from turbosquid, you can igrone, thanks
@@ahmadbaihaqqi4309 Alright, thanks for letting me know.
HOW do you delete EVERYTHING though?
You say what you do, but you don't say HOW you do things.
I gotta find some tutorials that explain things in a bit more detail.. cause this isn't helping.
You can't just say what you're doing, say what your clicking.
I'm sitting here trying to follow along because that's how i learn, but then you lose me cause you're not saying how you're doing things, just what you're doing.
Well, you see, This tutorial was not made for complete beginners. I'm assuming that people watching this know the basic shortcut keys. I would highly recommend watching my Sculpting For Beginners Tutorial: ruclips.net/video/VYuUlQO-kYE/видео.html
This tutorial is just a quick setup guide for people that already know the basics of sculpting.
Also, I have a complete blender beginner tutorial series on my channel, if you'd like a good overview of the basics of blender.
Oh and to answer your question. You Use the A key, to select and deselect. So just press the A key a few times until everything is selected. Then you press the X key, and then click on the delete option that will appear. That will delete everything that is selected.
Very useful, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
