This is the first tutorial I've watched on this as a beginner that actually explains what brushes are being used and WHY they are being used. Most others go over the basics of the brushes then just swap back and forth without really explaining why they chose to use that brush for that particular part of the sculpt, and this one really helped define what each brush is good for and why. A lot of the time I've been watching these it's just like, me trying to figure out what the heck they are even doing and being frustrated because I'm trying to follow along but getting completely different results, and it's entirely because they understand the dynamics of the brush way better than I do. This helped a lot, because it explains what the brush is actually doing while it's being used and I wish more tutorials would do that. Thanks!
Not only a clear and succinct description of how Blender sculpting works, but a very informative lesson on facial sculpting too. How you did the ears was fascinating. Excellent!
Finally a clear use of dynamic topology that leaves the mesh clean, without uncontrolled overcoming vertices!! I've been waiting for this for so much long.. Thank you very much!!

I've watched a few dozen sculpt videos, done a few tutorials. I think yours is the best so far in understanding the basics. After watching it, with in 15 minutes. I've had the closets thing to a head I've ever had outside of attempting poly modeling. While far from what I want or perfect. It's the closeest thing I've ever made to being something that if I never finish I'm proud of XD Aka progress from pure nothing to something recognizable as a creature of some type. Thanks a ton :)

Great tutorial :D. I'm not novice at Blender but this video teach me some concepts that i didn't know. Thank you so much ^^. Whould you do another video teaching about retopology? It would be fantastic :).
I just went straight into sculpting a skull in blender and the one issue I have is the resolution. So this is very helpful. I draw in real life so translating that to 3d isn't difficult but using a software is challenging. I'm still trying to learn how to set up hot keys on my tablet so I'm working a mouse and tablet at the same time which makes working more tedious but I'm okay with that for now since I'm just learning. My intention for 3d software is to design characters and set pieces for 3D printing.
With sculpting it's best to go from huge to details. There's no mention of layers separating these. Used to use mudbox to do so. Still good overall explanation to sculpting.
