as soon as i saw this video i knew who won.
to put it simply: General Grievous was made into the second greatest jedi killer of all time. Proxy was a training droid.

Alfreduss i know i'm rather late, but i've always liked to think his "cowardice" came from the contract he agreed on, since if he died it'll likely be terminated, which would mean his people would suffer the consequences.
So in my headcannon he fled to live another day to keep the contract up and help his people...but that's just my headcannon. ^^

For anyone who says Proxy could win through the Obi Wan module, Obi Wan was literally channeling and giving himself to the Force to beat Grievous and had to switch to a blaster. While Proxy can make calculations and emulate Force Push, I don't think that calculations are as effective as literally seeing the future through the Force.
Also, whenever PROXY turned to Obi-Wan module he was nearly one-shotted by Galen and then later easily defeated by Darth Vader.
Yup. Grievous can blend styles and adapt accordingly.
Proxy's "adaptations" are switching to preset styles, and can't blend them.
@@AntoineBandele Obi-wan's style is pretty much useless without the force, Form 3 relies completely on the force to be effective this was a fight i dont think should have even been questioned because yes while Proxy could emulate every fighting style he has and switch between them Grevious fought actual jedi and killed them, he contended with every style and was taught them all by dooku one of the greatest duelist's of his time the only person probably on par with Dooku's dueling would be Mace windu because his style would use Dooku's darkside against him, even Yoda struggled to hold his own against his apprentice.

Antoine Bandele Yes but a cyborg isn't a droid. A cyborg is a combination of a living being and a robotic body or in this case even brain modification. I mean he is not completly programmed.

While I will say you don't give PROXY enough credit, I will agree that in a duel the General would rip PROXY limb from metal limb.
I gave PROXY the credit he presented for himself. He was out-dueled by Galen and Vader. He was outright stomped by Vader.

Anyone remember that time that Grievous was taken down by Gungans in the Clone Wars Tv show? Its sad to see that after he was so cool in the original animated series killing 2 jedi a padawan and knocking two others in critical condition in one fight.

Y'know, condsidering that Grevious was a crack shot with a slugthrower I'm surprised he never used one. Since Jedi can't deflect it as easily, do not wear armor, not to mention a slug would not be able to pierce his. It seems perfect for his Jedi Hunting role over a blaster.
UPDATE: Thanks to a suggestion from Trevor Philips, Vader vs Grievous will be featured next season ... in a *new version of the VS* I have planned next season.

Grievous is one of the best sharp shooters in the galaxy.
He was so good with the rifle that his people raised him to demigod status...

Grievous also often keeps a blaster close at hand which he often uses as a surprise attack.

James DeLano he was only a bad copy so he could build up starkiller's abilities and if he went full on starkiller would be defeated easily so he would of acted like a weaker version of the person he was mimicking
JJ Beast Training Star Killer was an after thought. His prime directive was to KILL star killer. So Proxy was always going full power.
Darth Maul vs General Grievous sounds like a far better battle to me

Tom Grocutt It wasn't technically seen. lol But yes, they did fight twice. I wouldn't say Maul won. He Force pushed Grievous out of the area and through a wall. Grievous recovered from it while Maul ran to help Mother Talzin. I'd still like to see a proper fight between them though.

Maul just couldn't afford to keep fighting Grievous, but it's in no way a victory. It's not Maul defeated Grievous, since Grievous was fine. It wasn't a strategic victory either, since Grievous was able to return to the fray, and, without Maul to hold him back, kill Talzin. It was at best a brief upper hand.
It's no more a legit victory for Maul than their first bout was a legit victory for Grievous, just because Maul got kicked down and then ran away. Would also add that Grievous never actually used his third or fourth sabers in the fight.
General Grievous is the anti Jar Jar Binks. As in he is the best that the prequel trilogy gave us.
In concept he was cool, but in the movies and TCW he was rather lame.

general grievous is one of the greatest characters in the prequel trilogy
Grievous's weakness with lightsaber was long endurance duels and defensive styles, I think. Obi wan's defense style picked Grievous apart "bit-by-bit". Grievous lost that duel to Obi wan because he was basically disarmed by kenobi. He only succeeded by escaping though... Grievous had the advantage of being very unpredictable however due to multiple arms and cybernetics.
I would love to see the Bounty Hunter showdown, Durge vs Boba Fett (Legends canon)
+Tyler Jeffers There is nothing Boba could do against Durge. It took a sun to kill the monster. Boba does not have enough fire power to bring Durge down.
Well if anything else I would like to see Durge in a battle. I personally don't know, it has been said that Boba Fett was the Best Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy, same said of Durge but I would still like to see him in a match against someone worthy

As far as being underpowered, yes Antoine you are right. TCW's version of Grievous was almost to embarrassing to watch.
On a side note, Cyborgs are different than Droid. Grievous is much like. Vader, more machine than man, but has biological components
I would also argue that Grievous's prime is not ROTS. In the film, when going up against Kenobi he was swiftly outmatched in terms of lightsaber combat, but during his first appearance he was an unstoppable killing machine

Grievous was intended to be Dooku's errand boy. The ultimate Jedi killer, and in 1 novel he even manages to duel Mace Windu to a stalemate. but yeah, every other appearance except for 2003 CW he's pathetic

This was so sad. Proxy was my favorite droid. It's like he actually has a heart. Well, a as close to a heart as a droid could get.

Actually he swore vengeance against the jedi because his planet was in a war with the opposite army some sort of insect army that started the war. Then the insects convinced the Republic to help then saying Grevious's species started it. However Greivius didn't know this and the Republic helped the insect army win and he got really mad and what u said

It is extremely sad that Genndy Tartakovksy's rendition of General Grievous didn't stick with Lucas and carry on in the film and the clone wars series. Perhaps at the time the CGI would have been too expensive to carry on this depiction. Regardless the VERY tame version that was molded after Tartakovsky's depiction made one wonder how he was even a legitimate physical threat to Jedi. When you saw Genndy's version you could see how this cyborg was legit threat to Jedi. You saw the unorthodox fighting, you saw his unrivaled speed, you saw his ability to strike fear by his lurking, horror movie-esque tactics.
Had Lucas kept this rendition of Grievous Eppisode 3 would've been a better film.
It would have also made Kenobi's victory over him more fulfilling.
Counterpoint: Legends grievous would have to have been extremely visceral, and the ultimate goal of Star Wars was to keep it under the pg rating. Also blood effects were extremely hard to do at the time without using practical effects, which were largely avoided throughout the prequels
General Grievous vs Pong Krell
The Verdict: They both adapt to their opponent's style, and the general has intuition of a sentient being on top of his programming. Proxy just can't keep up to him in combat.
This is why Grevious is my favorite Star Wars character.

That would be outside of PROXY's programming and physical capabilities. He only turned into humanoids around his height. That's why you don't see Paratus, Yoda, or Grievous.

Let's all be honest here the only reason Obi-Wan won in episode III was plot armor, I would also like to add in an unfinished Clone Wars episode Grievous beat Obi-Wan in 2 seconds. Obi-Wan would escape later by Anakin's rescue.
In my opinion if Grievous had the ability to use the Force, he would be the best jedi/dark jedi/sith in the Galaxy.

+The Cool Persian Pretty much. Grievous had several opportunities to kill Kenobi including literally walking right past a gun while the Jedi was hanging unarmed over a ledge. That whole fight seemed pretty short and awkward to me, but I think alot of it was the fact that a four-armed cgi character was fighting a real actor and the fact that, going in, Kenobi had to win to maintain continuity. But, much like the prequels in general, it sure wasn't very satisfying and seemed awfully contrived.
i agree. but the movies made him a coward. sadly. the same thing with vader. sidious knew that he'd be the best sith/jedi the world had seen ( ep 3 ) but it turned out that he gets beaten by his son only training less than one year? :(

That's nothing. How about the fact that they also seemed to build about 2/3s of a Death Star out in some remote corner of the galaxy in between movies? Or how an entire legion of the Empire's best troops, even outfitted with walking tanks, were defeated by a bunch of f-ing overgrown teddy bears with pointy sticks and rocks?
TCW Grievous was made WAY too underpowered. When I saw him struggling to quickly gain the upper hand against Ahsoka, I was done. Losing to Ventress was bad enough, but the fact that he was only shown beating a Jedi Knight and cheating to beat Eeth Koth, I lost hope in how they were portraying him.
He was supposed to be a tactical genius, easily able to match Counsel Members' lightsaber and force abilities with just sabers and his mechanical body. Grievous could ramp up his attacks to hit 18 times per second. At the end of his training, he was even able to go as far as to push Dooku back until Dooku started applying force abilities in their practice. He bested Asajj Ventress and took control of the Droid Army + he rivaled the famous Obi-wan and traded victories and defeats with him on the battle field. The jedi thought of him as a monster and many of them fell to his blade.
Although no longer canon, he easily killed Adi Gallia (fuck Savage... Grievous would tear him apart).
So.... lets ignore the CANON of grievous, and just go with Legends? Normally I disagree, however, since Proxy is strictly Legends, I am comfortable with it.
Also Clone Wars Grievous was not that bad. He still match Obi Wan, Maul in the short duels, and that one Jedi Council member that Savage killed. Whats her name? lol.
That's the only reason I made it Legends. Because this is in context of two Legends.

You forgot the part of grevious background where the Jedi starved his people to death when they wanted to strike vengeance against the people who genocided his people. Also he is a cyborg even though he is mostly more machine.

The Munn hired Grievous and as payment offered a Marshal plan to rebuild Grievous's homeworld with Banking clan capital. The clone wars worked out great for Grievous's native species with those Munn war reparations.

+Tom Grocutt Windu vs Kenobi has to be done on this channel. Antoine's the only one who can make it unbiased and emphasize how close the fight would be. Despite what people may think, a fight between the two would be a lot closer than most would think.

At one point in the expanded universe I remember grievous getting an upgrade that put extremely powerful gravity manipulators in his hands, allowing him to use a less powerful version of the force, this made him almost unstoppable.

What music to do you for the physical abilities?
IMO Grievous never really fights himself, much like Kenobi giving himself to the force I believe Grievous's computer fights more than himself
From my point of view Grievous could never really be beaten offensively (like Windu tried) as his computer would simply adapt and match whatever is thrown at him
I also do not believe Grievous truly controlled his actions combat. Simple commands like "Faster" against Kenobi or "Stronger" were about the level control he had, while his combat algorithms handled the rest
This would explain why Kenobi was the only Jedi who could defeat him, as his purely defensive stance gave Grievous nothing to adapt too.

Kylo Ren is not well defined as a combatant. We’ve only seen him in one duel, a duel which was mired in circumstance by way of plot convenience, injury and psychological turmoil.

No matter how skilled Kylo Ren is, he can't fight a Jedi as powerful as Starkiller.

Remember what Darth Palpatine said to Vader "He has more powerful then ever" if it wasn't for The Dark Side. Lord Starkiller will now will become Doubles Has Powerful then a Jedi and a Sith. But he's not the number one most powerful by his chaos.

William Myers true but this is because the real ones had actual force powers. Proxy doesn't but neither does grievous. It's possible proxy will still lose but at least it would be a very close match if he was able to fight just like grievous can. Grievous will just have more combat experience unless proxy knows everything that he knew so yea lol.
