The Time General Grievous KIDNAPPED Ventress (How Grievous Became Separatist Army Leader)- Star Wars

- Опубликовано: 11 янв 2021
- In the days immediately after the Battle of Geonosis, which sparked the Clone Wars, Darth Sidious and his apprentice Count Dooku wanted to put their three best warriors head to head in a challenge to see who should lead the Separatist droid army against the Republic Clone Troopers. To do this, Count Dooku unleashed the wild General Grievous inside of a dark, labyrinth, before sending the other two candidates, Asajj Ventress and Durge in to search for him, and whoever came out alive would be granted the rank of Supreme Commander of the Droid Army.
I’m going to breakdown how General Grievous Kindapped Asajj Ventress and became the Separatist Army leader.
So the story begins in a dark, creepy labyrinth somewhere in the outer rim, where Count Dooku has sent two of his best warriors, Ventress and Durge to search the entire area, after telling them he has sensed someone inside.
Once Ventress makes her way inside, she contacts her master through her commlink and tells him that she still doesn’t sense anyone inside the area. As she continues looking around, she says that perhaps the security sensors are malfunctioning, but as Dooku is monitoring her progress from a series of security screens, he tells that she is wrong. Someone is aboard the dark station, and she must continue her search until she uncovers the mysterious being.
Ventress follows Dooku’s order, and moves through the dark halls of the station, until eventually arriving at the trophy room, where a variety of stuffed creatures and other beings are being stored as prizes for victory in combat. Creepily, you can also see a collection of lightsabers and even some Jedi robes. One of the robes is even coloured purple, so let me know down below which Jedi you think that one might have belonged to. There was actually a Jedi who wore purple during the time of the old republic, so I’d love to hear what you guys think.
Following this, she contacts Durge, who is the direct competition to Ventress and Grievous, although she doesn’t know it. At this point, neither of them know who Grievous even is, as he is as he a fresh recruit of Count Dooku and we’re at a very early point in the war. Technically Grievous was actually at the battle of Geonosis, but he was hidden deep in the dark catacombs below, and slaughtered every single jedi who saw him, so his presence wasn’t discovered until later. Durge quickly tells her that he just moved into the gallery room and is moving in her direction, hoping to trap whoever is inside this creepy place between the two of them. Durge then goes on to say that he still thinks this whole operation is a waste of time, but before he can even finish his sentence, a jolt of pain surges through his body as he is shocked by an electro-staff, seemingly out of nowhere. It is of course Grievous himself, who has been unleashed by Dooku.
Grievous simply calls Durge pathetic, before grabbing the bounty hunter by the neck and snapping it. Going even further, grievous, Grabs durge and slams him into nearby artefacts, glass objects, strange devices and even a vehicle, putting him in a world of hurt.
As ventress rushed on to the scene, she asks him who the figure is that they are hunting, but Durge just can’t answer because he never got good look at the mysterious figure. Ventress however, doesn’t let this stop her, before she rips off her robe and leaps through the air, igniting her red lightsabers jumping up above the room. As she is inspecting the area to find the creepy being, a dark figure appears behind her, before horrifically bashing her head, sending her plummeting down to the floor of the room. Luckily for her, Durge is able to catch Ventress Mid air, and even complements the mysterious creature’s speed, but they have once again lost him.
As the two recover from his attack, they agree that they need to stay close, and Durge asks “Who do you think this is? A Renegade Jedi?” Развлечения

Grievous in 2003's cline wars: terrifying doge
In the clone wars show we were told grievious was a threat but constantly shown the opposite. I’m glad we got to see grievous being a true monster in this comic.
You should try the original clone wars show from 2003, it perfectly make the transition between episode 2 and 3 while actually showing how strong Grievous is.
@@51dodoc Oh don't you worry I have rewatched that series a good deal because of Grievous. Thanks for the recommendation though.
I really wish they would actually do canon Grievous justice. It sounded like Lucas himself hated grievous as a character, since he wanted him to be a pathetic villain.
Grievous really was the future. His terrifying presence and ruthless strategies largely paved the way to allow the empire to step in with promises of security from seperatists and droids.
Durge gets beheaded and all he says is ouch?!
Man this guy is awesome and seeing him and Greveous Duke it out is pretty epic!
@General Grievous The Galactic Hero that is incredibly specific
I wish that the clone wars showed Durge as a Separatist Bounty Hunter, that would have given so much potential. At least we have 2003 clone wars with him. Also this is an awesome comic
They considered bringing him into the series But they realized they didn’t have the budget to animate him and his freaky regenerative abilities.
Yea grievous, ventress and dooku sort of become villain of the week, each was over used.
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 I heard that they tought Durge was to "violent" for the show, so they created Cad Bane in his place

Whilst Greivous was able decapitate Durge with ease in this comic, albeit momentarily, I still found him to be quite an intriguing character due to his species’ ability to regenerate. He was, in my opinion, an illustrious minor antagonist in the original Clone Wars and I wish we got to see more of him.

Why do Grievous and Ventress always have beef with each other?
I imagine its a competition to be Dooku’s favorite. Its not like they had much to get along over other than their mutual jedi hate.
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 until Ventress fell in love with a Jedi.
@@CometCopy wait what
Sith aren't supposed to have more than one apprentice/underling because of the risk of them teaming up to overthrow their master. While I'm sure their rivalry was naturally formed to some extent, I imagine Dooku purposefully pitted them against each other to keep himself from potentially being overthrown. Fat lot of good that did him in the end, since he was betrayed by his own master, and had he not been so focused on his own skin, he might have been able to take over from Sidious with their added help. That's a very emphasized "might have" though, since Sidious himself was OP as hell, and there's no guarantee he wouldn't have still been able to school them all even if they'd been perfectly coordinated
@@Cornin33 He's talking about Ventress falling in love with Quinlan Vos.
I remember reading this story when I was a kid. It made Grievous such a badass.
Finally, I have been waiting for someone to cover this comic, this is what Grievous should still be, an extremely competent General, and an extremely dangerous warrior able to kill many Jedi and other powerful beings with relative ease, it still makes me mad that he was nerfed in the Clone Wars and his original well written backstory was tossed out for one where Grievous’s hate of the Jedi is not justified and he is just REALLY petty instead.
@@cwylfre Good, glad to see Grievous is slowly creeping his way to having his character and reputation redeemed, I like the Clone Wars but their are things I hate in it, the two very major ones were how Grievous was treated and the throw away line of Jango not being Mandalorian. Luckily The Mandalorian has fixed that dumb mistake so Jango and Boba are now mandos again (I know Fett haters are still fighting Boba being a Mando but I'm sure he is, he may not follow the "creed", which already varies wildly between different Death Watch factions, but instead he likely follows the Supercommando Codex of the True Mandalorians instead, since Boba is not Death Watch so he does not need to follow whatever rules they made up.) I can only hope Grievous will eventually be fixed as well. Also good to hear that Dash Rendar and Kyle Katarn are canon to (in some form), now all we need is for Starkiller to be canon, which shouldn't be hard since The Force Unleashed still fits into Rebels, someone had to make the Rebel Alliance, which the Ghost crew had no idea existed at first.
@@kingcobra9726 After the amount of backlash TFU, I don't see them ever bringing it back sadly. But I do see that as a positive because let's face it. We all know it'd be a copy of the legends version, just done worse.
Grevious, himself, is also a man of culture.
Sucks we never saw Durge in clone wars
There were so many bounty hunters already so I think that's the reason why he didn't appear.
There were a lot of great things that never showed up in the The Clone Wars but there were also things that should have not been there as well. Fond memories from that series but it could have been even more better when i look at it today. Worst offense was the butchering of Grievous as a character, i cannot appreciate the treatment he received.
we see him in Star Wars: Clone Wars.
@@averagejoeschmoe9186 Grievous deserved more but he was ok in it
@@autismobinch135 well that's your opinion, that's fair enough and by all means I thought the same when The clone wars came out at the time but in hindsight I have come to a different conclusion. Seeing the 2003 series I was even more convinced that Filoni did him dirty. He was reduced from a badass to a moustache-stroking villain vowing to return again in next week's episode.

Kudos to you for an interesting Star Wars lore video!! I'm aware the source material is from an unknown Star Wars comic book (you never show your source materials), but I'm impressed that it was drawn very similarly to the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series shown on Cartoon Network back in early 2000s before the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated movie in 2008 (both are considered Canon by Disney)!!! Both were great shows!!
Back in the days when Grievous was an absolute unit

I love this comic cuz the movies never actually show the strength of grievous the animated 2003 show did but still they just show him as a war criminal which he is but he runs away all the time in this he just beat dirge the Jedi barely can deal with him I wish grievous would actually be shown his true power but he never gets the chance
He didn't run away much in the 2003 original clone wars show, most of the times it's his opponents running from him.
Legends knew how to handle Grievous. These days, characters are put down and neglected for the “all powerful Darth Vader.” I missed the old days where they weren’t telling us who to like and who to think less of. Grievous is a complex character, which goes to say he’s my favorite. Everything about him was original. My interest in Star Wars isn’t gone or minimal, but it has reduced significantly by the way they handled him in most areas than others.

Does anyone know where I can buy/read this comic? I absolutely adore the art style they went with for the 2003 clone wars series
This seems like among us in star wars
I know people here are saying how cannon Grievous is so nerfed which is true BUT. He still is very powerful in cannon - in TCW he still defeats Obi Wan many times, Eeth Koth, Nahdar Vebb, Ashoka and many more. It’s in the later seasons where he gets ruined. But int he unreleased original S7 that never was, in the Arc Crystal Crisis, Grievous defeats boi wan in a 1v1 in seconds. Oh and for those saying he needed help against Eeth Koth, he really didn’t the Magna guards just helped make the win quicker. Also in ROTS we know he is weakened before the film eitehr by windus force crush (which is not confirmed to be legends or cannon after Disney messed it all up because we do know he does battle Windu still) or atleast another thing happened during the battle of coruscant - and even then he very nearly kills obi wan. Let’s face it if grievous threw him a little higher or there was no blaster or his chest plate hadn’t been opened by Kenobis force strength to pull open, he would have killed Obi wan, again while he was weakened!
I didn’t know durge COULD talk!
