As someone whos read the bane trilogy, i still think Vader wins, well Bane was one of the most formidable duelists in sw history and was trained by one of the best duelists, Vader surpassed Sidious in saber dueling who was according to Yoda was an evolved sith lord as Yoda didnt expect Sidious to be so powerful when fighting him, however with the Orbalisk armour Bane might stand a high chance but with Vaders metallic arms and thus illuminating the chance of Vader getting tired and Vaders superior force power id say after a tough battle Vader wins

What's your opinion of him loosing to Luke in rotj? Was Luke really that strong at this point in time? Because I just don't see it. Obviously for the story to be as cool as it was that needed to happen but, was it just luck or skill?
you know I think that if anakin had become a fully-fledged jedi and practice his force skill, if he wasn't so arrogant and not so close to pal patine he would become the best jedi ever. anyone agree?
Aedan B I'd say that is pretty obvious considering he was essentially created by the force thus making him the most force sensitive being to date. Had he taken his training seriously, he would have been the most powerful jedi of all time or had he not been crippled and needing a suit to survive, would have become the most powerful sith.

Okay, I am gonna sound like a Fan-Boy here, but I largely disagree with your Opinion on Vader. While he was known as a Power-Duelist, he actually became more of a cunning tactical duelist over time, fusing his several styles together, and mixing them, to be able to suit any situation. To his physical abilities, Vader was able to lift a human male WITH ONE HAND, without using the force. While this was a strengh given to him by his cybernetics, I still think this is more than Bane was able to do. Also, while he wasn`t able to move like a dancer, Vader was able to generate a huge amount of speed if he had to, dashing forward, using fast and precise foot-work and jump high and far to overcome obstacles. Bane was a strong unarmed fighter but Vader was aswell and I guess they balance out in that area. Talking about his force-abilities, while I think Bane was certainly strong in this area, Vader was a genius. He was able to outright attack the minds of his enemies, stunning them with fear and come in for the final blow. He was able to batter them with several objects while simultaniously attacking them with his lightsaber. Okay, Bane was able to fool his apprentice Zannah in the mace when he led her around by the nose but on the plain battlefield, this won`t come into play. Bane`s only edge I see is his ability to generate force-lightning, which IS a weakness of Vader, but if he sees it coming, is easly defended against by just holding his lightsaber in the way. Vaders Suit is also not such a great weakness as you make it out to be. It gave him a constant dose of painkillers, high amounts of oxigene and thus gave him the ability to walk through pain and keep going. He also clad it out with material to defend against lightning, though I don`t know how effective this was. He was also able to function for at least a while without it, so even if it was damaged, it won`t stop Vader. And to taking pain! Vader survived being cut to pieces by Obi-Wan, he survived being buried alive, he survived the vacuum of space, he fought countless Jedi and other enemies and was never really beaten dispite his short-comings. He was insanly experienced and learned from his defeats, he took everything he had and put it together in a package, that made him one of the greatest duelists of all time. In my Opinion, Bane would certainly take Vader to the edge, but in the end, Vader is the better Lightsaber-Duelist and the more versatile force-user. He has done everything to overcome the weaknesses of his Suit, and archived the greatest ability he could in this area. I call Vader a bleeding, smoking, battered victor.

Also, this sounds like a rant, but I just wanted to give my analyses of Vader. Check out the other Versus Series Channels and look at their Videos on Vader and you will see why I hold him in such high regards.

Your english is very good! You made some extremely good points. I think I may be a little hard on Vader because he had all this force potential he never realized as a Sith or a Jedi. I do agree, I think he's one of the greatest Sith duelists of all time. I don't know many Sith who can beat him on pure lightsaber skills.

being the "chosen one" and all, i would say if vader were pushed to the edge he would be capable of anything, his father was the force lol. im talking like supernova repulse attacks, moving planets things like that. but then you play force unleashed and he's easy to beat lol.
I am starting to consider that I might actually make a Video Analysis of Vader. I get the feeling many do not fully grasp what Vader was capable of.

In my own opinion, I'm not sure that Bane could power through Vader's force shield/tutaminis with magnitue alone, considering that Vader is supposed to be one of the most powerful force users in the Star Wars universe. Even if he did, I don't feel like it's the trump card everyone is expecting considering how resilient Vader can be.
In a competition of sheer force-strength and magnitude alone, I think Vader would stomp Bane. Bane is certainly strong and has the knowledge, but Vader has the magnitude. Even though he is weakened by his suit and his guilt, he still has some serious oomph behind his force abilities that cannot be understated. I don't think he would have a hard time defending himself against Bane's lightning.
But if Bane managed to hit Vader with lightning, I believe Vader's longevity and his resistance to punishment would keep him alive and keep him fighting. I think Bane would have a very hard time putting Vader down, as Vader is an indomitable, unstoppable power-house that has been shown to take and survive a serious amount of punishment.
Vader would keep the pressure up on Bane, leaving him no room to breathe, and there would be very little Bane could do to assuage Vader, as no matter how much punishment Vader takes, he would just keep fighting. To an extent, of course. Vader would eventually expire to Bane's force abilities, but if he managed to keep this up and endure for long enough, I believe his familiarity with Bane's Djem-so and Soresu, and his own experience with Makashi and Ataru bladework, would power through Bane's defense and he could land a fatal blow before he expires to his injuries, if he expires at all.
To summarize, if Bane could overpower Vader's force shield and tutaminis, which I think is a debate in and of itself, I believe Vader could endure Bane's lightning long enough to stomp him in a lightsaber duel. He would, however, most likely expire afterwards depending on the severity of the damage done to his suit.

I completely agree, all tho darth vader might overpower bane's lightsaber style but by that time his suit would expire eventually. This would be a far closer fight but either way bane with his powerful force lightning and force shield and physical capabilities and his knowledge of lightsaber combat will give him the victor but I have no doubt he'll be fatigued at the end and darth zannah will eliminate him afterall bane's lightsaber skills are not to be underestimate if he is at his prime state most likely when he was wearing the obskilus armor he was able to take on 3 battle meditated masters with the help of his apprentice these jedi were far more experienced then the modern each master was around high council level possibly above theoretically and even if he was alone fighting the 3 masters due to his armor if he uses all lightsaber attacks only he would overpower them too. This may be close but I declare darth bane as the victor I love darth vader I have been reading novels and comics about star wars for nearly 6 years I have examined bane alot so yeah.

I think you did this video pretty well, especially since this is a pretty close battle. Although I have a couple points to bring up. 1, as Anakin there was 1 ability he studied intensively, force augmentation to literally give himself more strength and vast endurance through the force and to even add a surprising amount of agility to his suit; also as Vader he studied the ability to physically move his limbs through the force. Meaning that he added to his strength in 3 different ways, and to his agility in 2 ways. He was also known to be able to levitate his body (which could buy him time to rest in the battle), and he was proficient in force speed which would allow him to see Bane movements as if he were standing still and react at a speeds that turned him into a black blur. I think Vader had a little more of a chance than you originally thought, but regardless it is a close fight no matter how you look at it.

If Vader did not lose his limbs, and defeated Kenobi he would had been overwhelmingly the most powerful Force user in history. His ability was limitless, he could perform any sorcery, trick or dueling technique greater than any other person who ever lived. He never lived to develop those capabilities those. With the loss of limbs, he lost much of his ability to draw on the force, and could never reach the potential he should have reached. He should have easily surpassed Sidious, but he never did.
No question there.
Sidious knew this so he purposely made Darth Vaders suit half assed to make his skin itch his poster bad and has to forever use that breathing contraption but still he fucked shit up, on the bright side his son Luke achieved just that but on the Jedi side.

Good video. I agree with the outcome. One major problem I see, is that Darth Vader is NOT in his prime. The Sith Lord Darth Vader was born in Palpatine's office, not when he was imprisoned in the suit. His prime was on Mustafar. He had just killed countless Jedi Padawans, Knights, and Masters (the same Masters that had taught him the techniques he was killing them with), killed Cin Dralling, and Count Dooku who were among the top duelits in the entire order. And as stated in 'The Revenge of the Sith' novel, his power continued to grow. After every being he killed, he became stronger, because one aspect of the Dark Side is that it feeds of death and destruction. Right before he was defeated by Obi-Wan on Mustafar, was 100% at his prime. The only reason Obi-Wan defeated him, was because Vader was blinded by hate, and made a huge, and rather stupid decision. After that, acording to the Novel 'Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader', by James Luceno, Vader was (for lack of a better term) torn the F*ck up; He lost 3 limbs, had his lungs burned and couldn't breath on his own, had the skin on his head burned, (which resulted in him having synth-skin), had his eyes and ears permanently damaged (almost melted) by the heat which was a major reason for the mask. He literally had tubes and wires running from the suit into his chest and lungs to keep him alive. The suit was literally an Iron lung, he would NEVER be able to get out. It fed him, and recycled his waste. He was at a major disadvantage. Even Darth Malgus wasn't wasn't messed up that bad! Darth Vader would never ne able to challenge Darth Sidious Mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith, nor any other powerful Sith, and could never reach his full potential, he was in to bad a shape... And that my freind, is not someone's Prime.

sithlord115 Thanks for your comment. Glad you enjoyed video. Jensaarai1 and I are of differing opinions in that regard. I am not of the opinion that Vader's suit was completely impervious to lightning attacks as evidenced by Return of the Jedi. He was killed by Sidious' lightning and he wasn't even exposed to it for that long. There may be different evidence in the EU stating he was resistant but movie canon trumps all else.
He was killed because it was Sidious's lightning, which he utilized at a near instantaneously lethal level.
Right, and Bane's lightning was extremely powerful as well. He would not be able to do in Vader as quickly but he certainly could power through.
F. Tyler Peck Bane's lightning was likely more powerful, or just as. He completely disintegrated someones body with a brief use of Force Lightning. Resistance, isn't immunity.
Palpatine did too, as evidenced by his execution of headmaster Gentis. Others to suffer lethal damage instantly from Palpatine's lightning were Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu, Rayf Ysanna, and Brand.
F. Tyler Peck No... Gentis was burned. Bane turned his victims into a pile of dust. There is a HUGE difference. Mace Windu doesn't count either. It was the fall that killed him, if anything, and chances are, Mace Windu isn't even dead. So guess again.

To expand upon Vader's dueling skills, it was said in another video by The Stupendous Wave, Darth Vader had not only mastered but modified each lightsaber form due to his physical handicaps. He utilized each form in his fighting style, keeping his opponents guessing on what form he was using. And with my own observation, he seemed to be utilizing a technique, like his master Darth Sidious, which was switching to a superior form, or in Vader's case use a piece of that form, than his opponent. He familiarized himself with all forms so he can combat jedi more effectively which I think both of these skills can give Vader a distinct advantage over Darth Bane
Physical edge is debatable though if we include Vader's limited mobility it probably goes to Bane.

Bane has an advantage in his lightning that he can use to encaution Vader though Vader can still counter it.

geromino97 *You can view it that way." I view it as Vader not knowing what he was going to do himself. Also Vader's own mental defenses were such that not even Sidious could pierce it without exerting effort which I doubt he was liable to do when torturing Luke.
I'd have to say that Vader couldn't stand up to Bane. Bane's use of lightning would definitely be to much for Vader to handle and if Vader was killed by picking up Sidious while he wasn't even focusing the lighting on Vader, then a directly aimed blast of lighting at Vader would shut down his suit if not instantly kill him much faster. But hey that's just my opinion.

I feel like you keep forgetting, when talking about Darth Bane, that while he is in his Orbalisk armor his fighting style was entirely offensive as his armor effectively made him immune to lightsabers, except of course to the face, and the wrists. Also, in reference to the video against Darth Sidious, by the time he fought the 3 Jedi masters, many years had went past, and by that time he had worked to increase his effectiveness against dual wielding opponents. When the Battle Meditation wore off, Darth Bane forced the Jedi backwards, even after having to adapt on the fly to attacks aimed at his weak points.

Great Video! Darth Vader and Darth Bane are my two favorite sith (leaving Maul in a close third). Although Bane still managed to get the edge over Vader, I couldn't help but notice that Darth Bane's ability of drawing the Dark Side of the force from different locations was not mentioned. Especially considering how he could engulf the area with darkness, causing his enemies to turn to ash. Personally I feel Disney needs to make force wielders more god like in the Force Unleashed.
Without the Obelisk armor, Bane would most likely lose the fight. I place Vader ahead of Bane in dueling ability.
Bane still trumps Vadar in every other combative capabilities.

you forgot to mention a few things about Darth Bane and his orbolisk armor, his armor not only amplified his force power while nullifying energy weapons it also healed him so much that unless you hack one of his limbs clean off in a matter of second than the orbolisks would have healed that, plus Darth Vader mechanical suit would not last against Darth Banes Lightning when he was wearing the orbolisk armor.
There are a lot of reasons Bane lost the duel to Zannah, for one he truly wanted Zannah to succeed him, second he didnt bother trying to break trough her force barrier with his lightning and burn her to a crisp from a far, rather as a sign of respect he decided to engage with her with a light saber knowing fully well that he trained her in how to evade his aggressive attacks, third he decided to rather than kill Zannah to try and take over her body but Zannah was a sith sorcerer which knew many sith spells.
Basically Bane knew he only had 1 option when fighting Zannah:
He had to take over her body to train a new sith apprentice so he could be challenged as a master when he is at relative full strength but Zannah was a counter to him in that regard but still like Bane 2.0 minus the raw physical strength.
all in all Vader simply did not have a chance against Bane almost in every aspect, Bane was truly a beast so much that he could probably take on Raven and Malak at the same time and even win if he had the orbolisk armor.
Bane is no joke and the fact Vader could even face him one on one is an honor in itself.

For those of you complaining that Vader doesn’t easily stomp, please read the DB trilogy. Not only are they fantastic books, but also give great insight into the Sith, and really detail the absolute genius of Darth Bane.
One personal note though, I always saw Bane’s prime as being Dynasty of Evil personally. He did have his issues regarding his tremor but to me he was at the height of his force knowledge at the time. Bane in RoT is a powerhouse, but I feel like that version of him portrays him wrong. People often assume him to be a hulking berserker simply because of his armour, and because of his stature, ignoring his biggest asset which is his cunning mind. Bane’s orbalisk armour caused him to be in great pain, but fueled his rage, and as such he often is assumed to simply rush opponents. Many bring up how, if not for his armour, he’d be dead, because he cannot defend himself. I see this moreover as being a strategy. He’s completely aware of his armour, and he knows they’re not going to hurt him, therefore defence is almost natural to him, and he can focus on offence. I viewed Bane in DoE as being superior simply because he’s mastered his form. His armour let him take on multiple Jedi, but I have no doubt that he couldn’t then also do the same as his DoE version. Bane in DoE has just furthered his knowledge much more, and has improved greatly as a duelist as without the armour basically being a set of training wheels, he was able to focus on having a better control on his offence and defence, finding a better balance, and maintaining more control.
Although either version of the character works. Both had their ups and downs, and both were equally as interesting. It’s similar to Sidious I suppose in which arguments still exist based on if his prime was RoTS or in RoTJ. Great video as always many, I really enjoy your analysis.

Darth Vader is my favourite SW character, but I think Bane wins mainly due to Vader's physical limitations. Bane would be able to identify Vader's Achilles heel and would pounce on it.
Antoine, love your various matchups. While Vader's weakness is mainly electrical discharge, characters who we think have an edge over him because of Force lightning still lose. My question for you is, how powerful does one need to be with this skill in order to beat Vader?

Great vid, and I agree with everything you said except for the third round. You didn't take into account you placed Bane in his orbilisk armor which would make anything Vader did against him moot. Vader' blade couldn't penetrate the orb armor, and so Bane would have just worn him down. I LOVE Vader, don't get me wrong, but Bane should have swept the battle based on your own conditions and settings.
This was Bane without his armor.

Dont disagree with the analysis that Vader never fully embraced either side due to his opposing nature, could mean he was meant to be a grey Jedi to bring balance, yet only in story Revan is allowed to understand this, since logic isn't permitted in lore which requires the light and dark to be good and evil nothing more. What do you mean his cybernetics place him at a disadvantage, the Mythbusters prooved no matter how fat or muscular you are, no one is bullet proof, same applies to blunt trauma. Vader's hands only mimic sense therefore he has no sense of pain or strain through his hands (lost limbs and still fought), plus Vader has been known to break bones with his metal hands, not saying bane would be strong enough to match Vader, but Bane would be straining himself while Vader would just carry on and break Bane's bones (I know the Orbalisks can resist sabers, but can they be crushed, an energy shield resists sabers yet you can still bludgeon the guy, am I wrong?) This may be before the armor, but Bane needed to channel his rage (as Yoda would need to concentrate) just to move one stone block, when Vader (Not just TFU now Rebels also) was crushed by a walker which he then casually lifted it single handedly, which matches Yoda's difficult feat of maneuvering the pillar which nearly crushed Anakin and Obi Wan. Ive seen Jensaarai1's videos, and I now know you didn't include Vaders feats of survival: close proximity to explosions, torched, exposed to hard Vacuum, armor that shrugged off all but lethal saber blows. You didn't mention the death field force ability on banes part 'on the roof seeking Andedeu's holocron' on the topic of force abilities 'sith magic.' Vader probably can marginalize the effect of lightning; lightning probably attributed to his death because he was spent and determined to end Sidious once and for all at all cost. Bane may have some immunities, but he has admittadly no skill in the healing arts; while not technically healing, Vader has been known to temporarily heal his lungs through his rage, surviving under rubble for days without his helmet "The Dark Side gives me all I need." Also Bane was not incapacitated, but temporarily stunned by a Jedi, Vader has once frozen a target then decapitated him, If Vader can plan a substantial enough stun to work for a moment, then capitalize with force speed, Bane could be ended on his one exposure 'his head.' Djem So isn't offensive Juyo is, Djem So is just dueling centric with with an emphasis on brute force, balancing strong defense with relentless offense. I would like to believe Vader included Juyo, but did he really, Jensaarai1 doesn't include Juyo when covering Vader's hybrid style. Plus Cin Drallig didn't teach Anakin Vaapad for obvious reasons so unless he read up later how did he learn it, please elaborate. Are you so certain Bane would be patient, its said he nearly killed Zanah out of unchecked, uncontrollable rage due to the Dark Side and hormones constantly injected into him by the Orbalisks. Banes skill improved (even though he only practiced and trained/humored his smaller in skill and stature student) and his faculties increased but at the price of his whits, making him more animal than man. So I think Vader would be cool playing the Soresu card and holding out for hours 'The Force Unleashed.' Vader would let bane eventually be drained since his armor, its a give take relationship, once he has no nutrients left, his 'bugs' will just eat him to exhaustion (if the body has no glycogen it will then just be eating itself,) then Vader would take the lessons of both his masters "A fight isn't always a goal in itself sometimes it is just a distraction from the true goal and best countered with a better distraction." Vader being more practiced hand at Don Moch would collapse a ceiling or claim a high ground like he did on Kamino. Lets not forget the elephant in the room, Bane was only engaged in 3 (4 if you count the separatist scholar) serious duels, while Vader hunted Jedi for years and bettered his methods for it. Don't you even think its possible Vader might resort to desperate measures and charge, let Bane go for a limb, then use the remaining hand to physically choke bane out, in the comics Vader killed a reborn Maul by stabbing him through himself and emerged seemingly unscarred. (I don't read comics I've just seen Jensaarai1's reviews.) I don't think Vader is indestructible, I don't disagree that Exar Kun would beat him given his great build, being a top tier duelist, and if thats not enough, true mastery of the Dark Side and Sith Sorcery, (Force Wound, Force Destruction, Force Drain, Dark Rage.) Same reason Vader couldn't and didn't challenge Palpatine was due to his Superior understanding of the Dark Side, the same can't be said for Bane, just a comparable Sith Warrior.

No. That pain was a result of his prior injuries. The suit actually had a mechanism that injected Vader with a painkiller. Basically, that suit was a mobile emergency room.
Jeffrey Doe no his suit didn’t have pain killers, the suit was designed to cause pain with the fact that in legends his burns were never properly cleaned and what not those points would have excruciating pain. As for canon the only thing I’ve ever seen Vader do was spend time in a bacta tank to escape the un ending pain but I have never seen or read confirmation of his suit which was designed to cause pain to have measured to lessen it. From what I know that is merely an assumption people make.

I think Vader would win. Bane's Lightning isn't as powerful as Sidious's lightning, and Sidious had to put in effort in order to shock Vader into incapacitation. There isn't really a physical edge to be awarded here, for the most part they countered each other's strengths physically. And Vader IS a better duelist. So I say Vader.

My money is on Darth Bane. He was the Sith'Ari--basically, the Sith version of the Jedi's Chosen One in Anakin Skywalker. His powers were greater than all the Sith at the time, and afterward his orbalisk armor made him not only stronger in those Force powers but also 99 percent immune to light saber strikes. Vader's life support armor--life support!!--was a hindrance. Sidious purposefully did that to Vader after recovering him from Mustafar because he knew Vader would become more powerful than him. If Bane and Vader fought in their primes, Darth Bane would over powerful Vader. Yet, in the spirit of 'what if', if Vader won his fight on Mustafar and didn't need the life support armor, and he and Bane fought, I think Vader would win.

From your descriptions of him in this video, I will take the liberty to assume that the incarnation of Bane you are referring to in this video is from his appearance in Dynasty of Evil. In that case, I would like to refute your verdict--I do not believe Bane could defeat Darth Vader.
First off, you made several good points about the technicalities of Vader's technique, though not all were inherently correct. After Vader's injuries sustained on Mustifar, Vader had to largely rewrite his combat style to make up for the reduced mobility and awkward hand size and angles caused by his life support system. The style he eventually adopted was his traditional Djem So with incorporated elements from all seven lightsaber forms, but most prominently Makashi and Soresu. As described by Galen Marek, the end result of Vader's modifications to his style was a super-precise, unpredictable, and overwhelmingly strong style of combat, backed by twenty years of experience in the hunting of Jedi that Bane does not have.
Darth Vader has on many occasions proven his abilities--His first notable victory in Dark Lord: Rise of Darth Vader, where he defeats Jedi Master and member of the Old Guard, Roan Shryne. He then goes on to take on an ambush of eight Jedi Masters in the Purge comics, one of their members being another member of the Old Guard, and though this battle can't be constituted as a victory, he still was able to kill off five of them while still accustoming himself to his life support system. He would then continue on to defeat opponents such as the Dark Woman An'ya Kuro, the re-incarnated Darth Maul, and even the older legendary Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi, in lightsaber combat. Even after this, the article in Star Wars Insider, Fightsaber, detailed that Vader had trained intensely between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, having become a far more formidable opponent than he was against Ben Kenobi on the Death Star. Vader consistently proves himself to be highly skilled in technical dueling, and in terms of combat experience is rivaled by few.
Now, you mentioned how Vader's life support system was a significant weakness due to his reduced mobility. You also argued that Bane could gain an advantage against Vader via his tolerance for pain. I would argue that you are incorrect on both fronts. While it's true his mobility was lessened after the events of Revenge of the Sith, Vader was still capable of running imperceptibly fast, swinging his blade faster than thought, producing multiple afterimages behind his person, and more of the like. I'd also like to mention that after the events of Rise of Darth Vader, Vader has intensely modified his own lightsaber style to use his lack of mobility to his own advantage, becoming something of an immovable object in a lightsaber duel. As for pain tolerance, I'd argue Vader's is even greater than that of Bane's. This is not necessarily because Vader has a stronger will than Bane, but because of his cybernetic enhancements. This is best displayed in the Purge comic line, where Vader takes on the Jedi Ambush. We see him chopped in the back, losing arms and legs, his helmet being damaged, and more of the like and he still keeps fighting--Vader is an almost unstoppable fighter with dramatically greater stamina due to the simple fact that machinery cannot tire.
Another nitpick I would make is your consistent mention of Darth Bane's lightning being Vader's undoing, and the delusion that Bane is a more calculating fighter than a peak Vader--This is not be the case. In the most simple scenario, Darth Bane's lightning could be harmlessly absorbed by Vader's lightsaber in most situations. However, even if Bane were to catch Vader off guard, he has installed prevention measures to defend himself against this obvious weakness--From the passages of the Force Unleashed, Galen Marek is able to unleash Force Lightning on Vader more than once in their duel, and neither times does it do any more than stop his advance. While admittedly Bane is the stronger user of this technique, I dislike the notion that a practitioner of Force Lightning could so easily be Vader's undoing. As for strategic ingenuity, while Vader was initially headstrong and inept at strategic organization, he quickly learned his lesson after sustaining severe injures because of his emotions. Vader by the time of Return of the Jedi was a highly calculative fighter, and he even mused that he was more powerful than he had ever been.
Lastly, I would like to point out that you vastly underestimate the difference in raw power between Vader and Bane, and that you overestimate Bane's wealth of knowledge. While Bane has shown a high level of Telekinetic measure, Vader has accomplished far more. From crushing TIE fighters with a gesture, to sending dozens of soldiers airborne, to collapsing cathedrals, Vader's powers are rivaled by few in the entire mythos, many like to think of him as the poster boy for combat applications of telekinesis in Star Wars, and I don't think I'd entirely disagree. As for Bane's wider knowledge of the Dark Side, while this could lead to him having some unexpected tricks up his sleeve, much of this knowledge is either extremely difficult or impossible to apply in combat, most notably Sith Rituals.
I don't argue that this wouldn't be a very close fight, but Vader is solidly the superior of these two.
However, I'd like to note that if my initial assumption was incorrect, and that you are referring to Bane as he appears in Rule of Two, while encrusted with his Orbalisk parasitic, I would more than agree with your verdict--Though not your analysis. If that indeed is the incarnation of Bane you are referring to, you highly under-evaluate the capabilities granted by Bane's Orbalisk Armor, as it does not only provide near indestructibility, but also an immense amplification of his raw power in the Dark Side and physical capability. While in his Orbalisk encrusted state, Bane is capable of smashing dozens of techno-beasts into dust with Telekinetic smashes, reducing drexl beasts into mountains of ash with Force Storms, moving fast enough that he appears to be wielding dozens of blades at once, and even regenerating from several hundred meter falls. He's a head and shoulders above Bane in his later showings.
As an ending note in regards to another video of yours, regardless of which incarnation or appearance Bane is taken from, he is incapable of standing before Palpatine as an equal in any competition whatsoever.

I think all my points on Vader's lightsaber technique were pretty sound. He maintained Djem So as his base form but modded the offense and defense within it. You and I agree he integrated Makashi and Soresu, but he also used Ataru and Juyo as well. I think as a duelist he was the best of anyone else in the entire Star Wars timeline. He not only took from almost all the forms but he took them with a strong base in Djem So, a form geared for someone with his biology and cybernetics.
I will admit by bias to Bane and my disappointment with Vader overall. I was really trying to highlight the importance of practice craft versus raw talent. Though, speaking completely frank, if we are talking cybernetic Vader versus pre-suit Vader, cybernetic Vader did have a more practiced craft. That coupled with his power would outdo Bane. My point would have been highlighted better had I placed Bane against the nearly turned Vader.
I agree Vader's pain tolerance was higher than Bane's, but I think Vader would not be able to deal as much damage to Bane as Bane could do to him. If Bane were to win, Vader would be without his limbs and his suit would have failed him. Speaking to tactical mindsets of both, I think Bane would be strong enough to know he'd have to attack not Vader, but his suit. I could see him really working on dismantling him than trying to go for a single killing blow.
Yeah, stuff like crushing tie fighters and the like to me is very "Force Unleashed" which is more like a legendary thing than something Vader or Starkiller could actually do. That first trailer of Force Unleashed was really cool but I do not really believe it was achievable in the main storyline. Yes, Yoda could raise an X-Wing but with great effort. I do not think Vader nor Starkiller could bring down a whole star destroyer however. I can see Vader taking down a tie fighter though, but easily, not so much. I'm actually doing another video with Vader and I definitely give him his due as I felt I got my disappointment of him off my chest.

Perfect, so I was correct in my assumption that the incarnation of Bane you are referring to is one after he has discarded the Orbalisk Armor.
While Vader's technical mastery was great, I think you and many others who have researched it get the wrong idea about how the system works Simply because he's successfully integrated elements from multiple forms in his technique does not make his style perfect or the best in the saga. His personalized style of combat is not a perfect technique, far from it, but what it does is allows him to fight efficiently despite his shortcomings. The style takes advantage of his increased strength and decreased mobility and flexibility rather than being detrimented by it. However, I would not give him being better than Palpatine or Yoda in a contest of skill much thought.
As for Anakin, despite public assumption, he's more powerful than both Bane and Vader. Many people really overlook what he is capable of, in both terms of skill and power. For instance--Were you aware that at in Dark Lord: Labyrinth of Evil, Anakin let out a roar of power that collapsed a dome that was 90 feet tall (30 meters) and 270 feet (90 meters) in circumference? He's really insanely powerful.
However, I agree with your overall point on Anakin--That he is not the most cunning or crafty of opponents, but rather is the expression of raw talent.

I do find it amusing though that you believe Vader crushing TIE fighters is insane, and yet you make no note of how in Darth Vader: The Lost Command, Vader was able to topple an entire Atoan cathedral.
And no, neither Vader nor Galen Marek could rip Star Destroyers from the sky. A little fun fact: The Star Destroyer that you are refering to was already falling, Galen merely redirected it's path per the Force Unleashed novel.
Another thing I'd like to add is that I'm not too big of a fan on Vader either, there are many other characters I much prefer.

If we were talking pre-suit Vader they I would more inclined to think that Vader would take him. But with Vader's Force powers crippled and his movements impaired, Bane edges him out.
I don't even think pre-suit Vader takes him. Pre-suit Vader lacked humility and experience. His ego-driven mind would have inhibit his coherent actions. Bane would exploit his ego. In fact, I think suited Vader would outdo pre-suit Vader.

Darth Vader Most of the more powerful Jedi at that time were not at the temple, so its not quite fair to judge to power of the Jedi Bane fought against those you slaughtered. Plus you had whole of the 501st at your back.

Since I had read the books and seen the movies, I can say Bane is the best of his order; stronger than all the others who followed the Rule of Two. However, he's overtaken by the others in the various fields in which they stand out, for example : Darth Zannah was better than Bane in Sith's Sorcery; Darth Plagueis was better than Bane in knowledge of the composition of the force ( Plagueis can manipulate Midichlorian, Bane not); Darth Sidious was better than Bane in political issues; etc...

I agree completely. While I would say that other with are better it is usually only in one area as stated above but in terms of rounded average of ability bane is unbeatable. Essentially he's second best but he's second best in everything. Except sorcery. While he does study it he himself has no potential with it.

LoftOfTheUniverse The fight takes place during the combatant's prime, which for Bane is 10 years before he lost to Zannah, at which point, not only was his skill declining due to his ageing body, but he was also suffering the impact of having been calling on the darkside regularly for the past 20 years.
It's like stated in the video, during Bane's training he spent his entire days training tirelessly, he studied the force until his abilities were sharpened to perfection, I think he could manage a force wall strong enough to combat Vader's force choke.

Plus the rage that the orbelisk would have thrown Bane into, Vadar would be no match. Just as Bane held off 3 Jedi, I believe Bane could have won against Vadar and Sidious together.

I'm not so sure since bane still had his armor which was able to withstand strikes from a lightsaber and he honed his skills to the max during his time before, during, and after his time with the orbalisk armor while Anakin only truly worked on his skills after being put in the suit (before the suit he mainly relied on his raw natural talent). Anakin before the suit was also pretty arrogant (which is how he lost to obi-wan and wound up in his suit to begin with). Anakin got cocky and, in his rage, made a big mistake when he tried to attack obi-wan (who had the high ground). Bane would likely use Anakin's arrogance to his advantage since he was a master of manipulation and tactics since he was an experienced soldier himself (before becoming a Sith Lord)

I agree, that Vader was skilled in Tutaminis, but I doubt, that he'll be able to use it succesfully against Darth Bane. The electrick bolt of Bane's lightning would be to close to his mechanical hands. It may damaged them. In my opinion Vader wont be able to stop lightning, as he wasn't able to create that.
With his Orbalisk armor, Bane is almost unstopable, I guess that only force lightning or telekinesis (I'm not sure abot this one) may be enough to stop that version of Bane.
That armor incrase his strenght and stamina, and makes him almost invulnerable, which should be enough, to overcome almost every opponent in lighstaber duel.
Vader has nothing, that could hurt Bane. You shouldn't use Orbalisk Bane in your videos in my opinion. I know, that you like to use characters "in their prime", but since Bane decided, that it would be best for him to remove Orbalisks from his body, I would treat them as some kind of cheat.
Like narcotics. They may make you stronger, but after some time, they will destroy your body, or mind. Or both.
I wonder why everyone thinks I'm using orbalisk armor for Bane. That was not a factor in this. Yes, I said Bane's prime was when he was affiliated with his orbalisk armor but I did not say he was wearing it, just that his prime was around that time. I'll have to make that more clear.
I think you could add Willpower to an advantage, some of the greatest heroes and some villains won off simply will power motivation and willingness to never give up.
Good video. Granted I don't think Vader's been given enough credit, and I do sense the bias towards Bane a little, but I know this has been addressed in past comments so I'll leave that one alone.:P
I'd love to see you do a versus video featuring some of the less-covered Sith, like Emperor Vitiate, Darth Zannah, etc.

Vitiate cannot defeat Sidious, Caedus, Vader, Plagueis. I'm not sure about Dooku but if he gets close like the hero of Tython did he dies badly because he cannot wield a lightsaber.

Good but I disagree with Bane's edge in force abilities being only a slight one. Bane's raw power is far above Vader's. He is also capable of force storm, death field, and many more.

Well how could he win? Darth Bane is stronger in the force on all levels, he's smarte, and he has the Orbalisk armor to protect him from any lightsaber hit. Any attack from Vader would bounce off his armor, Bane's force shield could protect him from force choke, and he can draw on pure rage to fuel his power on command thanks to the Orbalisk armor. It a very one sided fight and Darth Vader is on the losing end.

Bane's way above Vader when it comes to knowing raw, mostly unknown Sith powers. His sensing of the world around him alone is staggering compared to what limitations slowed down Sidious's apprentice. Though I know Vader was one of the greatest Siths there was. Bane was one of the fore fathers that brought the rule of two into play. His teachings, from all the collected knowledge he scoured from the holocrons he got. Bane's trilogy novels were a wonderful read and I really enjoyed how in depth they went with his storyline. Though I wish they'd done a sequel for Darth Zannah. I'm sure it would be a best seller.
Not just with Zannah but a series of books with each of the Sith in the rule of 2 from Zannah up to Plagueis

I disagree with bane wining against vader. sure, bane is extremely powerful just like darth vader. but vader was the chosen one. the battle bane against vader would be a hard one. but I believe vader would win but only by a slight victory. almost loosing to bane. if vader found his true potential in the time of need, vader would destroy bane

Nah man, even if Vader went all out I don't see how Vader could take Bane with the orbalisk armor. Bane with the orbalisk armor has only 1 weakness: Force Lightning, which is a horribly dangerous weakness but not one Vader could exploit. But the armor covers his entire body save for a few cracks and is impervious to lightsaber slashes and almost everything else, plus even if I blow is struck to the racks it also gives him an instant heal ability. Vader literally has nothing that can bypass it.

I have seen a lot of people mention how Vader had to protect his life support system. But that kind of makes little sense. I suppose he has to protect a couple of extra inches more than he used to. But all Bipedal beings would need to defend there chest. Getting cut on the life support feels like it would most likely be a killing blow no matter what since it would hit chest cavity

Something I think you should of noted is that Darth Vader practically made his own fighting style specifically to defend his weak spots in the suit like his respirator and arms. Also with enough electricity his suit would lock up thus I think Bane would just use that to get it over with.
I give credit to Vader's fighting abilities. Djem So was his base with his offense a mix of Ataru bladework, Makashi stabs and Juyo slashes. His defense was a staunch Soresu.

So, to be fair, I feel like you're selling Bane short a little in the area of force powers, though you did mention some good stuff. How about the fact that untrained in the force, he killed his father while he was sleeping, and shot people with a blaster he'd never used before while blinded. He also was able to keep himself and an animal alive in a vacuum. You also forgot to mention how he mastered force lightning within an hour of learning it. And he was trained in light saber combat by one of the greatest Sith blademasters.

Admittedly, I was outraged when you crowned Galen Marek the victor over Anakin Skywalker, but couldn't express it because the comments were disabled in that video, for good reason, I'm sure. I thought it would be a close match up, but that Anakin would prevail at that point. However, I had never really considered the ironic tragedy that was his condition, having the greatest potential to be the most powerful of all Jedi or Sith, but ultimately never realizing that potential due to his conflictive nature while on both sides. Brilliant insight and observation, sir. I applaud you. And yes, this did eventually cool my fury over his loss to Marek.
