I actually had no idea that Ventress died until now. It's pretty heartbreaking. Kind of wish we saw her in future Star Wars projects.
Same it made me sad
Twas an ending that I feel was impactful. I think Star Wars tends to play coy with major character deaths. I really hope they have the guts to kill off some of those characters in _Rebels_ through a noble sacrifice. I really don't want them keeping them alive and creating some strange retcon.
+Antoine Bandele ya it's strange I do not see how Kanan, Ezra or Ashoka are getting out of this show alive I mean I want Ashoka to live but it would make more sense if she died. Also before I knew Ventress died I was hoping for her to have a cameo appearance in rebels being hired by Ashoka for some suicide mission
Antoine Bandele Something tells me that Ahsoka might be next on the list. I say this because it's highly unlikely for her to show up in a live action movie of some kind, although that's be AWESOME!
Ahsoka should die. And it should be a noble sacrifice. I hate when franchise keep their characters alive too long without any sense of danger.
Luke Skywalker vs Asajj Ventress. The Knight and the Acolyte. Largely self-taught, competing with the best. But if they met in battle, who would win?
I am. I hope sometime this year. But I'm waiting for the new expansion.
+Antoine Bandele Awesome, glad your making more of these bro, can you do Kylo Ren vs Kanan?
Too pre-mature for both those characters.
+Antoine Bandele what new expansion?
+Antoine Bandele Satele shan vs something vs Luke skywalker
Without seeing the video just yet I'd say Pre-Grand Master Luke would be fair game for Asajj but I still think he'd come out victorious if only by a margin.
+Treize Khushrenada Good judgement. I agree and so does Antoine.
I feel like they are equals, I know Antoine was talking a lot about her strength but that is only when she isn't really angry and toying with her opponent. She was able to send grevious crawling back who was physically stronger than Luke so I would mark them as equals
Kepp in mind that its the know cannon luke not the old greatest jedi ever alive
Legends Luke would destroy her considering Legends Luke super Syrian anny and regular young Anny beat her in both clone war series. Now Disney Luke will lose within 5..
ROTJ Luke would take at least an 8/10 majority.
Absolutely love when you display the names of the sources so that us audience members can point out an exact point or know where you're coming from. I also love the new verdict style and you continue to surprise me with your insane editing prowess. Well done and I agree with the verdict for the most part.
Thank you Matt. Yes, I feel like I've always had an objective with my videos. At first, I got into this series because I felt some of the editing, audio-mixing and otherwise could have been improved.
Once I felt I accomplished that I moved onto the analysis itself. So I changed up the verdicts, specifically that saying one person is the victor does not mean they are _always_ the victor. It's about scenarios, it's about the most _likely_ victor. Hence, the addition of the 10/10 scenarios.
At first, I thought I had this pretty down, but then I realized I was only talking about one outcome, rather than all the likely scenarios. That's why today you see the verdict I have now, which I think is very solid. I think I can move on from the improvements there.
I also felt like these videos were getting too long so I got rid of excessive statements, attempting to look at only the achievements and feats that were relevant to combat. Beforehand, I think I was trying to prove that, "hey, I know what I'm talking about. I know these characters. Look at all these things I know!" So I would describe everything about them, even if it did not correlate to the fight itself. Now I've gotten these down to a standard half hour show, which I think is a very healthy length. If I ever want to go more in detail about something, I'll do geek rants!
And most recently I added sources because I was coming to realize that people were taking what I said as truth, when much of what I say is speculation. But whenever I am talking about something that has a definitive statement within the lore, I reference to its source. It's something I feel better services the community, giving us the ability to formulate our own opinions and do our own research rather than sitting back passively and saying, "well Antoine said it, so it must be true." It's a huge gripe I have with Wookiepedia, where folks just reference the page rather than actually looking at the source, reading the source, and informing themselves. Plus, I think it keeps me honest, and its generally a better form of journalism (though these videos are very much editorial).
But! We live in a society of selective affirmation. People just want answers, they don't care for the journey, or what that journey can bring. It's the discovery which brings knowledge or speculation or otherwise.
But now, I think the main thing for me to work on is my narration itself. It's the only thing that I feel is not up to par with everything else I do. I've even considered getting a voice actor. But sometimes when listening to myself I have moments of brilliant narration, so I know I have it in me. I just gotta keep practicing, and improving my speech cadence.
Oh dear, I totally ranted.
+Antoine Bandele Damn........ XD, you totally ranted..... Seriously though, I agree with a lot of what you said and I honestly want to innovate with my own verdict like you did but in my own original style. My VS videos are pretty damn standard and I need some way where I can innovate and push the boundaries in. I also need to work on my sources and the way I present feats and accolades to my audience. Whether you intended to or not, you've actually given me a lot to think about, thank you very much Antoine!
May the Force be with you.
Antoine Bandele .... always!
+Antoine Bandele don't ever hire a voice actor Antoine. Your voice-work is excellent the way it is, and I think i can speak for the majority of us when I say when we come to watch your videos for you yourself in addition to Star Wars
This is one of my favorite and one of your most evenly balanced matches ever. Very good analysis.
Thanks. I quite like this one myself
Antoine, you've really outdone yourself with this one and I must say I love the new way you play out the battles and the new graphics. I completely agree with the result, keep up the good job.
Gracias Arturo
Hey ¿Hablas español? Cool.
+Antoine Bandele this vid was awsome
I agree with the verdict, even though at the beginning of the video i was scared for luke haha, and what about darth maul vs ventress, the forgotten apprentices
Maul is coming this season. But not against Ventress.
Awesome, and are you going to use maul pre phantom menace
Yes. I'm done using TCW Maul.
+Antoine Bandele thank you!!!!!
+DowNToWnweIrDoEs Walk throughs I believe TPM will be facing ROTJ Luke.
Maul > Ventress although I'd be interested to see her fight TPM Maul. She could contend very well with him, but I'd favor Maul due to his better training. He physically outmatches her and takes the dueling edge. Not sure about Force though.
Also, here are a few battle suggestions:
*Quinlan Vos vs. Kylo Ren*
*Ezra vs. Finn*
*Captain Rex vs. Commander Cody*
*Wedge Antillies vs. Poe Dameron (in a starfighter fight)*
Love the last one. Many fail to recognize that Wedge was crucial to both rebel missions to blow up the Death Star, and a survivor of both as well.
kylo ren would lose to anyone with any formal training
ainsley toledo
I agree with you, although I do think both characters are similar, thus thinking it may warrant a matchup.
+Vid0907 I don't think that's the case. The lightsaber forms are definitely canon still. Only reason the fighting is sloppy is because the characters aren't skilled or trained.
+Bahadur II Kylo, Ezra and Finn all don't have enough material yet to go by. If you used them once, the result would be completely different by the next time they showed up.
That said, I think Kylo beats Vos by his force abilities, and Ezra roflstomps Finn. He's shown absolutely no skill with deflecting blaster shots and struggled against Nines (you'll know him as TR-8R). He only put up a decent fight against an angry, conflicted and *severely* injured Kylo Ren.
Ezra has that built-in blaster in his lightsaber and some pretty insane acrobatics - in Stealth Strike he literally runs in a circle up the wall, across the ceiling. His Force abilities are also getting stronger really quickly and a force push seems pretty standard fare for him now. He's force pushed Kallus twice, corridors full of stormtroopers, and Darth Vader. I'm pretty sure Finn's not even force sensitive so he has no counter for that at all.
I loved this! I'm glad to see a fight with RotJ Luke, and not his legends canon "final form". The best part of this video by far was the actual description of the battle. While many of your peers focus on the actual statistics of a character's abilities, and formulate a conclusion almost entirely on that principle of the fight, you really looked into the finite details in this fight. I enjoyed the statistical analysis of each of the "battle phases" especially, and how those those specific points in the fight could determine that outcome. Rather than saying "I think this character wins, because of A, B, C", you say "These are the variety of ways things could turn out, by way of A,B,C". I think that this episode really highlights your experience, and the effort you put into these matches. Please keep up the grade-A quality :)
Thank you very much. Seriously that was very much appreciated. That was exactly my intention and has been something I have been searching for in my series over the past year. And it finally clicked with this one. I almost had it right before, but my issue was that I was only describing one scenario, rather than all the outcomes in each phase of the fight. I don't know what made it click for me, possibly my play of Hearthstone, where early-mid-late game are very important factors to one's style of play.
Thank Nick, I really appreciate that comment.
Obi Wan Kinobi (Padawan) vs Anakin Skywalker (Padawan)
Ki-Adi-Mundi vs Qui-Gon Jinn
Count Dooku vs Mace Windu
he's done Mace vs Dooku
TZ man oops.... lol.
+Dax Corsiar (Weeaboo) I like the idea of Padawan Kenobi going up against Padawan Anakin. I am leaning towards Skywalker as he fought better vs Dooku, who was a far more deadly combatant then Maul, though Obi-wan did disarm Maul.
+Dax Corsiar (Weeaboo) In Episode 2 Anakin says he might be stronger than Obi-wan in one of his rants to Padme
AOTC Anakin > TPM Dooku. He has better feats and was basically Knight level.
Here are my ideas for versus episodes:
* SpongeBob SquarePants vs. Squid Girl
* Luke Skywalker vs. General Grevious
* Asoka Tano vs. Ruby Rose
* Ben Tennyson vs. Kirby
* Patrick Star vs. Rook Bloko
* Gwen Tennyson vs. Yang Zao Long
* Chris and Martin Kratt from Wild Kratts vs Cure Blossom and Marine
I also can't wait for the Darth Vader vs General Grevious episode!
+Grant Scarboro Luke has enough defense to survive Grievous' onslaught and the fight would go similarly to the one with Kenobi.
+Grant Scarboro
Depending on which grevous, eu grievous wins, tcw loses
Some of those you may consider for other shows like superpower beat down or death battle I don't think antiolne isgoing to do those no Offence antiolne that doesn't seem like your cuppa tea
Okay, then. I still think the franchises, Ben 10 and RWBY would work very well in this versus series though, but I respect your opinion. Also, who do you think would win in each of my suggested fights?
Ugh. Please don't use that grievous vs ventress clip.
I still cry about the grievous nerf sometimes.
W Dexter sometimes? try all the time
Get over it.
me too dude
Same lol 🤣
-All the Jedi Council (minus obi-wan, mace, yoda and anakin) vs Darth Sidious from episode 3.
-Qui-gon Jinn and Count Dooku vs Darth Sidious.
-Count Dooku vs Darth Maul.
-Mace Windu vs Darth Maul.
-Kylo Ren vs Padawan Obi-wan Kenobi (from episode I).
-Kylo Ren vs Padawan Anakin (from episode II).
-Darth Sidious vs Yoda (both from return of the Jedi).
Pretty sure ROTJ Sidious would easily kill ROTJ Yoda, seeing as Yoda was sick and dying at the time.
Anny was not apart of the consil
Maul over Dooku, age gap and mauls technique prove too much for dooku
Windu over maul
Obi ober Ren, WAY BETTER DUELIST AND HAND TO HAND FIGHTER.
Anny over Ren, Anny BETTER DUELIST AND MORE FORCE SENSITIVE
Yoda gets to tie the series with Sidious,
A whole t fighter....nuff said...
Sidious would lose 100 percent in the room where Yoda faced Sidious
Yeah Luke Skywalker would win
Well done I think this is your best video so far the editing was top notch and I think the more in-depth verdict with including the chances each person has of winning ,early mid and late on in the fight is a great improvement.
Me too. I really feel like I've finally come into a verdict scenario I like. Of all the things in my analysis, this is the thing that has changed the most, but I feel I finally found something that is solid, clear and concise.
If you have the time, please take a survey for this channel:

Luke Skywalker vs. General Grievous would be an interesting fight.
I like that you in this video put up multiple possible ecenarios on your way towards the end. It gave me a bigger perspective and idea how this match could have gone.
Yes. That's what I wanted to convey when I first introduced 10/10 scenarios. But the issue with my previous approach was that I was only talking about 1 outcome, rather than the others.
I'm not so sure I agree with giving Ventress the edge in her force abilities. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe Luke was the strongest force user since Yoda. Even stronger, at that. Overall, I do agree that Luke would defeat her.
+Mr.AnimeFreak Strength doesn't mean much when you don't use it for attack, Luke uses it to defend himself overall we have never seen him use the Force in an offensive manner, where as Ventress has, secondly Ventress has more skill and finesse in her force abilities.
+Wollf Myth didn't he force choke some pigs
In terms of potential yes, he's more powerful than Asajj. But that's only one aspect of the Force and a practitioners use of it. Asajj is far more skilled. Luke does have combative showings but none of them are as nuanced as Ventress'. Also, Anakin was the holder of the most potential of any Force user, Luke played second fiddle. But from what we can tell from ROTJ and post-ROTJ EU he used that potential better. Still remains to be seen what use he makes of his potential in Episode XIII within the canon.
+Mr.AnimeFreak He has more potential but not more power by that point.
+Antoine Bandele episode 13? whoa, must have missed a few ;)
I like this breakdown format at the end a LOT better than the previous method as it explains the entire probable fight and the final fictitious outcome is decided by who has the overall odds for the entire fight.
Yes. I hope it was clear that any of the ranges could have happened, but choose what I feel is the most likely outcome.
please consider this
arc trooper vs shock trooper
general grievous bodyguard vs royal guards (emperors bodyguards)
Han solo vs cad bane
pre Visla vs gamemaster
please respond
pretty sure bane would win i would rather see jango fett vs cad bane
+Angel Hernandez fett by far. cad bane only became the best after jango died.
+austin trant (aggiefan15) well he was jangos biggest competition so id definately say bane has a chance given bane beat to very powerful jedi while jango beat 7 low jedi
+Angel Hernandez it would be a good fight, but i still think that jango would just out match cad bane. jango only died to mace windu after being trampled and having his jet pack malfunction. had he not gotten trampled, i think jango would have killed windu and gotten off of geonosis.
+austin trant (aggiefan15) when bane lost his jet boots he still took out obi wan and quinlas vos jango literally did nothing to windu without his jet pack
You already had a more elaborate presentation than your versus series peers, but you just tripled it! Nice format.
Thanks Imperius.
Darth Traya vs the Dark Woman or Mother Talzin, would be a wonderful fight to see analyzed.
Agreed ! 🙌🏼
Dark Lord of Insanity i
I watched this in the bathroom during physics class today right when It came out. Couldn't wait!
Hah! Oh damn.
In Canon Luke wins. I think Luke wins because when he fought Vader he was already Ventress’s level of skill. In Legends Luke destroys by so many miles.
“Destroys by so many miles”
Yet he has trouble with opponents like “Lomi Plo” and “Desann”…. Yeah I bet. Ventress would wreck both of them. Luke is NOT some undefeatable God, stop bein a fanboy. Yes, he’d beat ventress. But she WOULD put up a fight. She’s probably his superior as a duelist. Luke is well-rounded, fast as lightning, and has his skill tree maxed, but he’s an overrated swordsman.
@@dazdavis7896 I'd ignore those who use ABC logic in these debates as opposed to logic, context and the character's skill configuration.
@@baki484 nice try there kid. In what way is that “abc logic” Lmfao. Everything I said is fact. Stop bein a fanboy. Yeah. Luke would whomp ventress, but she would put up a fight.
@@dazdavis7896 You do know I'm agreeing with you on ventress putting up a good fight and Luke not being an unbeatable God. 🤦🏾♂️ Don't know what I would be "trying". Calling me a "kid" and "Fanboy" (to who? I don't have a horse in this race) guess that insult fell flat on its face it's funny given your response to my comment makes me think you're the "kid" and "Fanboy" here given you inability to respond in a civil manner. If I didn't articulate my comment properly you could've asked me to do so, so I could clarify any misunderstanding.
I apologize for assuming we'd have an interesting conversation since you can't tell when someone agrees with you... I doubt you're capable of that.
Love your vs series Antoine, i especially like how far you go into depth and detail with these characters. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks JayZ.
An Angry Luke can defeat Ventress. Otherwise, he can't.
I'd say the fight could go either way depending on external circumstances and chance. I do believe that Ventress is better at exploiting weakness and Luke being an intuitive fighter means that any opportunity to best the other that rises would simply mean who will exploit it first.
Asajj will lose to Luke in lightsaber combat. But, she wouldn't lose too Luke in a overall fight! She has more finesse with the force than Luke. If Luke was going for a killing blow, she will deflect the lightsaber( same tactic she used against Dooku) from its vector using force and use that opportunity to disarm Luke. Even so, size up her hand to hand combat. Which in that case, over shatters Luke as well.
Ventress is a way better Duelist than Luke (ROTJ)
@@black-meliodas7773 I doubt Ventress could even contend with Vader, let alone beat him
She got her ass handed to her by Dooku, and Vader>Dooku
Antoine, that was a really good video.
I love the new graphics !!!
Thanks dude or dudette.
I love how you've actually moved on and accepted the new cannon by using it in versus videos. Unlike most people.
+jedi koon Canon is really what you want it to be in the case of Star Wars.
+TheNuisanceBird Yh haha that's true. I swear Disney came out and said that a lot of legends is cannon just as long as it dosent conflict with everything else?
jedi koon I think something like that. Everything post ROTJ in the EU is probably non canon for the most part. I don't care what anybody says, Republic Commando is canon to me. At least until Sev goes missing.
+jedi koon You are correct: The Story Group has indicated that they would integrate Legends material where it was appropriate to their story. They have no been perfect (_Dark Disciple_ for instance, grumble, grumble) but for the most part they done okay.
+Antoine Bandele Dark Disciple would have probably been a lot different if the show wasn't canceled. We wouldn't get any one sentence exposition like "Dooku escaped again".
I love the improvements and new additions that you have implemented in all of your videos. They surprise and entertain me. Keep at it!
Thank you Tyler.
you should do Luke Skywalker vs. Starkiller(galen marek)
+Andrew Beaudin Would be interesting, but I think that Galen would beat Luke tbh. Luke, for all his progress, still lacked a lot of experience in equal lightsaber combat, whereas Starkiller in his prime had that in spades. Also, one of Luke's greatest advantages is his ability to adapt to his opponent as the duel progresses, but he would have trouble adapting to a duelist who could switch the principles of his style mid-fight, something which Galen has been known to do between Soresu and Juyo.
+MisterCross Grandmaster Luke stomps
Yeah, that's true but GM Luke would kick anyone's butt. A more fair comparison in that case would be against someone like Revan or Bane, who are proclaimed masters of their arts. Galen, for all terms and purposes, isn't a master of his art when compared to similar characters from other eras. He was one of the best at what he did, but not much more than that.
+MisterCross I guess i've never thought of it that way. but then again, my thought process was luke+ starkiller+lightsaber battle= awesomeness!!!!!!!!!! lol
Oh, I won't deny that. They're two of my favourite jedi/Sith and Galen is capable of going toe to toe with opponents that should be way out of his skill level, like Shaak Ti and Darth Vader, but Grand Master Luke was simply in a tier above the regular master. But it would be an awesome battle, no doubt! :)
this is why Luke Skywalker is such a powerfull jedi, hes basicly Anakin but a more calm, cool, colcted and controled version
It's been a little while since your last Harry Potter duel. What would you say to Remus Lupin versus Barty Crouch Jr.?
Harry Potter related videos will be featured next season.
The production value on this is outstanding. You've absolutely achieved that particular goal you had going in. Well done, friend
Thank you. Yes, I feel I've definitely gotten that one day.
Omg if you ever do team battles I would highly suggest the Resistance vs the Rebels
+Dan Flyger No they aren't the rebels were against the empire and resistance are against the The First Order
+Dan Flyger *Rebels
This was a really good episode. I like how the new format works especially with how the end comes together. Can't wait for the next episode.
Thanks Sam.
If you guys wanna convince Antione to do Iron Man VS General Grievous then like this comment!!!
Iron Man > General Grievous. There is no way Grievous would close the distance.
Iron Man has shown MFTL feats that'd put PALPATINE to shame. Even if Palpatine and Grevious got fused together (Palpatine's force powers with Grevious' body) he'd be too slow to ever tag Tony.
I love hand-to-hand combat which is why Asajj is one of favorite characters in Star Wars
Yeah. I would love to see a hand-to-hand fight with Ashoka vs Asajj😃
i got a new idea luke skywalker vs general grievous
is this a good idea
Luke would be crushed fairly quickly. Remember, the ONLY person to outright beat him was Obi-Wan, and this was because he was the BEST defensive fighter the Jedi had and had complete trust in the Force. To understand what I mean, Grievous was hitting Obi-Wan's guard with 20 blows a second, overloading any standard fighter. However, Ben gave into the Force and thus was able to withstand his assault.
Luke has skill, but not enough experience to even hope of surviving a few minutes with the monster.
Jacob Sailer legends Luke would crush him in seconds 😂
Chris Awesome True, but I'm not talking about Grand Master Luke. I'm talking about RotJ Luke.
Jacob Sailer ik I was just saying
I like how you put an explanation for the duration(early, mid, etc) of each fight. It was pretty dope
Thanks. I too like that as well.
Another great video keep it up
+Alex Dunn You haven't even seen the video yet.
+Balta Skywalker oh go back to watching Disney infinity tutorials
Alex Dunn Hah, so I know you.
Agreed
Wow ! Never thought they had this much in common. Luke is my favorite Star Wars character. I am happy that he won, but no matter what the outcome is, great video.
I disagree. Ventress is just to fast. Luke wouldn't be able to keep up.
If luke was at the peak of his force ability, he could force push her into another dimension (figuratively of course)
I agree
Its amazing how you describe the fight and make it sound thrilling
Thanks JAD.
Luke skywalker return of the Jedi vs Galen marek
Really like the breakdown of the verdict. Gives more insights into the characters and how you reach you conclusion.
I like it too ;-)
Versus Video suggestion: X2 vs Galen Marek or Maris Brood
galen stomps both
I am liking the new format. Very good my young padawan, very good.
Thanks Soul.
Padme vs Leia or Darth Tyranas vs Darth Maul. And also how about Obi Wan vs Darth Reven or Revan (don't know how to spell XD)
In Legends, Leia is an incredibly powerful Jedi. Not a very fair fight.
+ech0six Outside of legends tho... this fight would be hilarious.
+chrisglob shank I agree with your first two suggestions but imo Revan is waaaaay to much for obi to deal with
Excellent video Antoine. While I disagree with a verdict it was solid and well-made presentation. And your editing is superb.
Few potential duels:
Anakin Skywalker vs Darth Maul (the fact that we haven't seen this in TCW is just crime)
Anakin Skywalker vs Darth Bane (The Chosen One vs The Sith'ari)
Darth Malak vs Darth Malgus (Duel of Userpers/Pretenders)
Luke Skywalker vs Obi-Wan Kenobi
Mace Windu vs Darth Maul (Vapaad vs Juyo)
Shaak Ti vs Depa Billaba
Revan vs Darth Bane (Master vs Apprentice, sort of, Legacy of the Dark Side)
Can you believe some folks think Luke has a significant advantage over Ventress?
+Antoine Bandele
Yes, I can believe ;) I'm just not convinced myself.
She has massive skill and experience advantage. Having two lightsabers is always better than having one, more options in combat. And there's the fact that she can connect her sabers and use them as saberstaff. Curved hilts also gives her small ergonomic benefits.
While Luke may possess the same strenght as Anakin, he doesn't have the same ferocity and enjoyment of good fight. To be honest, Luke doesn't bring anything new to the table. He's very adaptable, sure, but since he have no experience fighting dual wielding/saberstaff/curved hilt he would be hard-pressed.
Personally, I would give Ventress advantage in sabers but Force would go to Luke, thanks to sheer magnitude.
But as I said, it's still great video. What do you think about duels I proposed?
Also sorry for my English, it's been a while since last time I used it in this kind of discussion.
I like this early-mid-and late battle analysis. While the analysis seems very accurate in it's breakdown of the two combatants, I can't help but feel sometimes that physical strength is given an unfair advantage when gauging fighters. Because lightsabers are essentially weightless. They do have a gyroscopic effect similar to the inertia of massive objects, or so I read online, but this would only really play in when the blade needs to change direction mid-cut, not when blades collide.
Even with a two-handed grip you can't overwhelm a one-handed grip when neither weapon has any weight. Try this out with really thin bamboo sticks. It's impossible, unless you use a two-handed grip so wide that you'd need to be wielding a sabrestaff (where you can also utilise core strength to push through). That's the kind of leverage you need.
Now, I'm aware that this isn't how lightsaber battles play out in canon. But sometimes, like in this fight, I can't help but think about it. I believe Ventress would absolutely destroy Luke if these battles worked a little more according to how regular swordfights play out.
Source: Am a fencer, doing both Japanese (closer to lightsabers) and classic European fencing.
Logically you're correct. Form V would be useless when using a lightsaber. Form II would reign supreme. There is no need for muscle mass when your blade has instant cutting power. Speed would be the greatest sly. But in canon, these weapons are treated like swords, so the aspect of strength does come into play in universe.
+Mattias Irving I wouldnt say its entirely fair to compare them to bamboo sticks, given how much the hilt of a lightsaber would weigh, its far heavier than a sword handle would be. and wouldnt be the easiest thing to move around
And by swords I mean they are treated specifically like broad swords instead a of rapiers.
I think a better comparison, at least from a real life perspective would be like holding a 5kg dumbbell. which is much heavier than your typical sword, though the centre of mass is closer to your hand
+Avatar Mufasa Not sure what the canon weight of a lightsaber would be. judging by how people relatively effortlessly handle their hilts, have them hanging in their belts and whatnot (even sneaking them into your sleeves like Sid does), I don't expect them to weigh more than max 2-3 pounds. Which is a very comfortable weight for anybody to swing around.
That was pretty interesting. Although I personally find it kind of low-talk to say Luke is a self-proclaimed Jedi. I mean, yes he proclaimed it to the Emperor, but he was officially a Jedi by the views of Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Anakin, true Jedi themselves.
But anyway, nice job, Antoine.
I don't see it as low at all. There are more merits to being self-taught than having your hand held.
Antoine Bandele No no, what I mean is, "self-proclaimed" is able to sound like "unofficial".
Make Grievous (Disregarding the movies and 2008 cg series) vs Plo Koon
Plo Koon would likely do as well as Shaak Ti and Ki-Adi did.
Well then... Shaak Ti, Ki-Adi and Plo Koon against Grievous at once!
+Antoine Bandele shaak tie and ki-adi were tired in there fights with grievous
+Antoine Bandele shaak tie and ki-adi were tired in there fights with grievous
+Daniel von Paška Grievous would win that quite handily...
I do think asajj ventress would win because although yoda taught Luke many lessons about the empire she would experience The dark first hand . What's more, she'd trained with the light and naturally like a human had simular will power . Also , in the middle of the intense duel I the asajj could get close enough to utilize hand to hand combat , and in the minority probability , force pushes and pulls aswell as any other force abilities
In canon Ventress would destroy Luke. He's only had a couple years of training while Ventress was trained by Count Dooku and even took on Anakin and Obi Wan together many times which obviously Luke wouldn't stand chance against the two jedi legends.
And what about Grandmaster Luke?
I think he would wipe the floor with her
@@black-meliodas7773 I mean GM Luke could possibly wipe the floor with anyone
@@peterthesneakybastar I don't think she would destroy him but I'm sure she would win against ROTJ Luke
@@peterthesneakybastar I take it back.
Ventress would destroy ROTJ Luke
+Nicholas Peterson
He tended to use his lightsaber more than the force in combat, he was built as darth malgus but was weaker in pain resistance.
We are not sure what you are referring to.
I'm referring to Darth Marr's practices and Force Abilitys like I was asked by Nicholas Peterson Antoine Bandele
All I wanna see is Darth Marr vs Darth Vader man cause that's just pure awsomeness
When is the Jar Jar vs. Wicket video coming?
NEVAH!
+Antoine Bandele could you please do a verus with T'ra Saa
I love the new numbers format for this video. When i first saw this vid posted i had to think about it for a minute before i realized how much ventress has going for her. i new she was gonna lose, but it was a very good match-up and not to mention someone used luke for a change lol.
Yes, Ventress has quite a lot going for her.
Dude did any1 watch the end of the vid freaking darthvader vs general grieveous
Best believe it.
Fantastic! This may very well be your best one yet! In my opinion I think you have surpassed the other Council members as far as set up and production of these verses vids.
Thank you. Quality production value has always been a primary pursuit of mine. It's what got me into this series at first, actually.
I haven't even watched the video and I know who's going to win
That hardly matters to me in a VS.
it was much closer than i thought, made me rethink
+Fry Liver What he said. I'm working on Galen vs Ventress and hopefully I'll get it out before someone else does it. It's a lot closer than many think.
Me too 😜
I think Ventress is more technically skilled but not by much and Luke's own comparative skill along with his form advantage more then make up for it. Completely agree with the other categories. This was a great video Antoine and you have no idea how pumped I am for Vader vs Grievous. Better be on your game for that video Antoine, I'm a Grievous expert. ;)
Thanks Will. This will be Legends Greivous so you best get ready for _that_ version of Grievous ;-)
Antoine Bandele I know ALL in regards to the CYBORG General. :P
CAPTAIN PHASMA VS CAPTAIN REX
Captain Phasma is without any combative information. It'd likely just came me down to who shot first anyways.
Well not that we know how powerful these two are my money is on Phasma.
The only way Rex could get a victory in this fight would be if he used a thermal detonator which is not a reliable way to kill a single solider.
@@anthonyrodriguez8788 sorry but no. Rex shitstomps phasma. What were her feats? Oh right. Absolutely nothing besides killing a bunch of civilians. Rex has fought through the entire clone wars to back up his name
@@lapplandkun9273 in just the movies Phasma has infinitely better armor that renders Rex's Blasters useless and based on her feats in the Phasma Novel where she spends half the book fighting without any armor she has much better hand to hand skill, she is much smarter she is much faster and has better training over a much wider array of weapons.
Rex is skilled by trooper standards, but Phasma is closer to characters like Boba Fett and Din Djarin.
+Nicholas Peterman
Darth Marr uses Ataru and juyo and his force skills is that he uses strong force lightning and force push. he can pull apart individuals with the force. His best times was during the old republic being a general and a high class in the dark empire
Wow SPOILERS for Dark Disciple dude.
Why did you watch the end of her backstory then?
+EZ64 i don't consider dark disciple canon. it's prob best that way
All my VS have spoilers. That's the nature of the videos themselves. But yes, as +Poop Poop said, you should have skipped when you started hearing about Ventress' bio.
I think luke skywalker would win too. Instead of discussing the battle, I want to offer you a battle you can do.
I think you should do a battle between two classes from the game of Star Wars The Old Republic:
The Jedi Knight vs The Sith Warrior
I think it will be cool to see who is better then the other, in terms of their stories.
even of their abillities in the game are quite similler, there is still a difference that everyone can see, and i think this difference can also be something to mention.
What I really want to see is RotJ Luke vs. Vader, either as a regular vs video or Geek Rant, to put to rest once and for all, maybe, who would have won that fight if they were really trying.
Perhaps I can give that a Geek Rant treatment.
I love what you have done with the verdict it looks good! Love the series keep the good work roling
Thanks Sander.
I agree. Assuming this was with Luke around the time of RotJ Luke would have never contended with a duel saber wielding duelist. This could surprise him and throw him off his game. It would be crucial for Ventress to beat him here and now while he is surprised and thrown off by her style. If she fails to do this... it becomes more likely that Lyke wins the longer this fight continues as her learns from her style and adapts. The weakness in defense against strong kinetic attacks being a problem to both Makashi AND Duel wielding would mean big trouble for Ventress against Luke's Djem So techniques. At this point Ventress's best bet would be to connect her blade to create a saberstaff and throw Luke off again, while switching to Ataru rathar than Makashi. This would help her overcome her weakness in defense against the stronger Djem So attacks. This will be Ventress's best chance for success at this point but again... If she doesn't shut Luke down quick he will learn and adapt again. Ultimately I feel like the dueling prodigy that is Luke Skywalker with his already diverse and well rounded style would overcome Ventree... and by the end of the battle... he'd likely have learned a few new things just from having fought her. I would say Luke wins 6 MAAAAYBE 7 times out of 10.
I really like the new style of the Verdict you got going here! :) That aside, this is a match-up I've been wanting to see since your Luke VS Anakin video, where you pointed out the similarities between Luke and Ventress, in terms of their skill level. Great video as always!
Thank you MisterCross! I've been toying with my verdict the most out of anything else in my series. I think I've finally got it to a point I really am comfortable with now.
+Antoine Bandele Yeah, it shows that you've been working on it. And I look forward to the next matchup, tho I would be kind of surprised if Vader wouldn't beat the crap out of General Grievous. I can see Grievous maybe outfencing Vader since he uses a very unorthordox and agile style, which if anything is Vader's glaring weakness, but Vader's concetrated and masterful use of the Force is something that Grievous would be unable to contend with in the long run. My guess is that it would play out somewhat similar to this fight between Luke and Asajj, where Grievous only chance of victory would be to land a fatal blow early on, but even then we know that Vader was highly resistant towards any kind of damage that didn't include completely incapacitating him or cutting off a limb, so my money would still be on Vader. :)
this new early/mid/late fight points system is p cool, great concept
Thanks, I quite like it too.
I loved this match up. I'm new to your channel and I've already watched most of your VS videos. Keep up the good work, and may the force be with you.
Thank you Grillex, welcome to our dysfunctional little community of misfits.
Nice new graphics and music, man. Plus, the verdict turned out to be pretty good. Like father, like son, I guess.
Of course, there are some factors you didn't consider to bring up in this video:
1. Armament and tools.
*After losing his dad's lightsaber on Bespin, Luke turned to Obi-Wan's journal to construct a new weapon, powered by a green synthetic crystal. (More specifics can be read in the _Shadows of the Empire_ novel.)
*The twin curved hilt-blades that Tyranus gave to Asajj originally belonged to his fallen Padawan, Komari Vosa. They can be either used separately or fused into an S-shaped saberstaff, which is very difficult to defend against. Curved-hilt lightsabers were often held by Form II practitioners, though others like Darth Bane could wield them flawlessly.
After comparing the two weapons, it's no contest. Luke would be totally unfamiliar with Asajj's lightsabers as well as her technique. I would give Asajj the dominating edge in weaponry.
2. Asajj and Luke's usage of Dun Moch. Because she knew Anakin well during their fights, she would attempt to get into Luke's head with taunts and cutting remarks about his father. Luke used an inverse usage of Dun Moch on Vader during their last duel, seeking to bring him back to the light.
3. In "Cloak of Darkness," we see Asajj display her strength when simultaneously holding up bladelocks with Ahsoka on her right and Luminara on her left. That could mean she gained muscle. Plus, she doesn't appear to be over-reliant on two blades anymore, as showcased in her later fights with Savage Opress, Darth Maul, Grievous, Quinlan Vos, and Tyranus.
4. Luke may have defeated his dad because Vader went too far in saying this: "If you will not turn to the dark side, then perhaps _she_ [Leia] will." Same thing happened when Tyranus taunted Anakin during their final fight.
Meanwhile, I can't wait to see Vader vs. Grievous! This would be like the fight with Commander Karbin, only a lot more tense!
(1) I felt this was largely irrelevant. My goal is to keep these videos lean rather than bloated. For instance, the aspect of Luke creating his lightsaber crystal synthetically is not a major factor. Same goes for the original ownership of Ventress' hilts.
Further, I have always felt that comparing weaponry and armament to be somewhat superfluous. Much of that can be integrated into their dueling abilities, as it often informed their dueling styles directly. But also, sometimes people put too much emphasis on one's weapon, rather than how they used that weapon, and how effective that weapon was against their foe.
(Sometimes I feel you, in particular, are more interest in pure fact-listing, which is something I'm trying to step away from.)
(2) Again, something that isn't relevant to this type of setup and not something both typically used. Luke was not actively using Dun Möch and no source has indicated Asajj has done so either.
(3) Blade locks against two fighters who were never noted for strength. Plus, I personally take a lot of stuff from _The Clone Wars_ with a grain of a salt. A lot of the choreography with regards to blade work and the use of the Force doesn't make a lot of sense. Also, I never make mention of Ventress being reliant on utilizing two blades.
Thank you. Yes, it would be very similar to Karbin but far more tense.
Antoine Bandele
(1) Fair point.
(2) Asajj used Dun Moch on Rhad Tarn in _Jedi: Mace Windu_, turning him to the dark side. Remember that?
(3) Another fair point, though Luminara and Ahsoka practiced in Form V. Sorry, just thought you knew on the blade reliance.
And Vader would be facing the _real_ deal, not a cheap imitation. Ever wondered why he didn't program a Grievous module into PROXY?
Heh mostly because PROXY was incapable of transforming into Grievous. He could only do humanoids. No Yodas, not Grievouses, not even Paratus.
Antoine Bandele
Okay, then why not Tyranus?
Loved the video Antoine, I really liked the new break down at the end I hope you continue to use it. :D
I most certainly will. I finally landed on something I feel works well.
Antoine Bandele You always had great videos, and I really liked the way you broke up the fight as it gave a clear idea of where the two stand in regards to each other. As I agree in the initial moments is Asajj's best chance of slaying Luke. But after that she is losing her chance to best him. I would also love to hear your thoughts on a duel between Lucien Draay vs Kit Fisto. The Shii Cho masters going at it.
That's actually not a bad idea at all.
Antoine Bandele I won't lie, I did see others bring up the idea in other people's channels. between these two very different applications of the same form. Which I find really fascinating, one used the form to forge himself into a guardian of the republic, the other forged himself into a Sith hunter.
So, this fight would be pretty much like Anakin vs Ventress on Yavin 4?
Yeah but probably less fair
Yeah but less fair
The fact that I woke up to find this! Man you da best!!!
Glad this could be a nice wake-up call for you :-D
great video nice surprise did not expect this one
Thanks T.
Antoine, Antoine, Antoine I am glad to see such superb editing. You are becoming one of the Premiere VS channels. Have you ever considered Directing bro?
Thank you. That's very much appreciated. Directing was actually my primary goal coming out of high school.
One of my paths was going to be music video directing:
ruclips.net/video/3Ew7hQbIOBo/видео.html
Antoine Bandele that's great man. I wanted to be a director myself. When I was in school I'd write out a lot of stories, scripts, etc. Descriptive writing was my major strength. But things changed and I decided to pursue massage therapy. It helps me with my nervous condition and I am using my hands to heal people. It's definitely not for everyone but it's working out for me so far. Anyways I'll keep watching and leaving input. Keep it real man.
Awesome video :) I actually originally thought Ventress would win, but this video convinced me otherwise. Great job!
Thanks. Hey Zaluk! How's it hangin?
+Antoine Bandele Pretty great. Excited for Vader vs Grievous. I'm assuming it's going to be lightsabers only? As you mentioned in your streams I think?
Obi wan kenobi vs darth bane and asajj ventress vs kkruck and darth malgus vs shaak ti
Antoine! Your videos keep getting better and better. I would say this is probably the most polished versus video I’ve seen from anyone (especially during the scenario section). Well done my friend! If I could give only give more than one like, easily worth 10k likes :P on a different note, I hope you haven’t forgotten about Obi, would love to see some proper versus series with him!! - Cheers!
Thank you man. Unfortunately, I do not have any current plans with Obi-Wan, but I'll see if I can re-integrate him somewhere. I do have one consideration for him though.
My young nephew was watching it with me so my attention was going back and forth between the video and him lol
oooo
Antoine, a very good one. Thank-you, Dante.
Thank you Dante.
Wow Antoine, you are FANTASTIC
Thank you Nahom, much appreciated.
This was a really good matchup. I would say this was one of your closest matchups since Mace vs. Anakin, and I am definitely looking forward to your next video, man. :)
Thank you. If only I did a breakdown like this for Mace and Anakin.
Antoine Bandele Well, I would say that was still one of your best videos. :)
+Antoine Bandele Or Maul Vs Malgus. At least you can do one for Mace Vs Dooku if you decide to do the redux you mentioned.
Yup I still plan to do a Vol II for that one.
+Antoine Bandele you cant use malgus against PM maul, SOD maul is the only one that has a at winning
First off, hats off to the presentation within this video. This is top notch quality. A lot of RUclipsrs could learn a great deal from this. Heck, part of me wishes I could do this. But I digress. I love Luke Skywalker. He is my favorite movie character(favorite character is Plo-koon). He was the individual I could relate to the most. Everyone talks about Han Solo, and no offense to him, aside from the one-liners (and Harrison Ford), I felt really nothing for him. Luke was the character I could always sympathize with.
As for the result, I wholeheartedly agree. Looking at this objectively, I will cite EvanNova95's words(namely, his Luke vs. Mace Windu fight). Luke very much has the mental foresight/awareness of Obi-wan, but the potential in the Force like Yoda. While it is debatable to what extent these traits were prevalent(I'd argue less during Empire Strikes Back for Obi-wan and more during Return of the Jedi), one thing is very clear: Luke excels at the long run of a fight.
As you stated, his intuitive nature during battle can make him exceptionally dangerous. Especially, if he can take note of the various habits and skills used by the opponent. And given how fierce Ventress is, this is easier said than done. But I agree that Luke can do it.
Finally, I do hope the new canon can actually serve to do Luke Skywalker justice. For instance, please do not have him be Master Yoda, where he refuses to train Rey. I want him to train some Jedi, dang it! Because, if there was one thing I loved about Luke Skywalker, it was his willingness to never give up. This has been shown in the movies, especially Return of the Jedi when redeeming Vader.
And while, Kylo Ren destroying the Academy is heart-wrenching, he's the type who will reevaluate and try again. Rant aside, excellent video.
Dude I'm just like you! Luke was my favorite character! Waaaay above Han Solo.
From what I can tell from _The Force Awakens_ Luke does attempt to train a batch of New Jedi, but Kylo mucked it all up. Luke may be reluctant to train Rey because he failed.
Antoine Bandele That was one of the things I liked about TFA. Luke tired to start a New Jedi Order. At least, that is confirmed. As for him being reluctant to train Rey, it will depend how the director executes it. I will say this; despite TFA being not as good, I am pumped for Episode Eight for Rian Johnson is directing it. The guy is amazing. His film Looper showcases he knows how to do darker stories. As such, he's a much better director than JJ is. So I am a bit more optimistic.
Me too. TFA wasn't the homerun I wanted it to be, but I'm still invested in the rest of the trilogy.
Antoine, I love the new end explanations man, very well done. While I think you're giving Luke a bit to much credit in his sword play, I still very much enjoyed the video. I think her speed and skill would take Luke for a ride, most likely costing him an arm early on in the fight, because Luke has never faced anything like Ventress, but as you mentioned, the longer the fight goes, the more Luke can figure her out. Awesome video as usual man, I like the changes you made, but I miss the old intro song.
Thank you. The song is still there.
Hi Antoine, another excellent masterpiece. I know it might appear that I've only subscribed but I've been watching your videos for a long time. Your pretty much my inspiration when it comes to presentation and editing in my videos. Keep up the good work dude.
Thanks AI, that is much appreciated.
+Antoine Bandele
That was a great match up, fantastic break down of their abilities. Asajj going up against Luke is not like going up against Anakin, but the best of Anakin and Obi-Wan (in terms of duelling abilities at least).
That clip at the end? My first thought was: "why has no one done that matchup before? It's seems like one of the most obvious versus matches to do".
Once again, very well done :)
Thank you. I too am surprised that no one has done it, but it's because no one has really touched Grievous. For some reason folks were adverse to touching non-Force sensitives, but I don't see the issue in using them. Granted, the next match up is going to be examining very specific circumstances.
+Antoine Bandele well if anybody can get those two into the ring you can
+ANTOINE BANDELE I just want to say i enjoy your videos the most. Every fact presented is given a source, which i love. Most of your facts are backed by visual source material not just your own words. It allows us the viewer to feel the objectivity in which you come to your conclusions. Any assumptions you make are stated as assumptions. You do not hesitate to respond to your fans and you constantly work to improve your presentation. Sigh if i could i'd sub 10 times over. But still job well done!.....now back to the video lol
Thank you dude. That seriously is very much appreciated.
Another great vid. Keep up the good work. I and completely agree with the outcome.
Thank you Daniel.
I would give Luke more like 9/10. I mean, Ventress survived encounters with high level Jedi, but who did she actually defeat?
Her most noteworthy victory was against Grievous.
I like that new style, very polished
Thanks Luke.
Your new format is neat. I'd like to see these matchups
Plo Koon vs Ki-Adi-Mundi
Qui-Gon Jinn vs Mace Windu
I could see Windu beating Jinn, but I'd like to see what your opinion on how the duel would go.
Thank you.
I love these versus joints.
:-D
mmm may be i wonder if he can hold vs ventress speed/skill since he don't got alot of enemie whit those atribute (dark vader is super slow) but if he hold the fight yah he will probably slow ventress to the point he can win...
Perso i would have said 5/5 or may be 6/4 for ventress but it would be a close match any way.
This is an amazing video, keep it up Antoine!!
Thank you very much.
Well, dammit. I haven't read Dark Disciple yet.
It doesn't matter. Great vid, Antoine.
Always, always expect spoilers in my Versus Videos.
