Should I expect these new switches to fail down the road as well, or is there a quality 'upgraded' switch to look for? I picked up this controller because I got stick drift on the normal controller after 3 years of use. This expensive controller only lasted a year before the bumper switches started to fail. I'm just wondering if it's even worth it to bother installing new switches, or if I should just get a different controller. Thanks.

The style of switch that Microsoft has been using since the 360 controller will wear out. 1 year seems premature, but it depends how heavily you use your controller. They wear out.
Same thing happens on Nintendo DS handheld disturbs that use a similar switch on the inside.

@@grimwoodfix Appreciate the reply and explanation. Is there a better controller option that doesn't have issues like this? Or should I spend less and expect these things to be replaced from time to time? Again, thank you!

@@gadsdenflyer7353 opinions will vary, but I haven't personally seen any controllers that are as nice to use as the original Microsoft ones.
They just wear out and need fixing or replacing. Just like tires on a car.
Older controllers wore out all the same.

@@grimwoodfix Well I guess I was hoping for a different reply, but you're the expert and I do very much appreciate the fast reply. I'm not a hater or anything like that, in fact I really like my controller. Perhaps I'm just unlucky, but as you said one year just doesn't sit well for the price paid. I may try to replace the switches, but my eyes aren't what they were twenty years ago. Thanks again, Cheers!

@@gadsdenflyer7353 you can always pay a repair shop. It'll be cheaper than replacement.

Check out the 8bitdo Ultimate. Bluetooth, 2.4, Xinput, ect.. works with the switch, xbox, windows, Steam.. also it comes with Hall Effect sticks, not trash potentiometers like the Xbox and Sony offerings. They are also, .... $60... Lmfao. Ive had one since release, and have 3 teenage boys who use it. Still not a hint of any stick drift, or any button issues.
