Hi just watching your video it works just followed your instructions heypresto my controller is working kept up the good work my thaanks I doubled the little plastic tab over
Holy cow, adding the alcohol to the buttons was what I needed! It was like magic! I tried folding that plastic piece and adding a posted note…. It must have been a little bit of dust or something that shut both my bumpers down! Thanks for taking the time to make the vid! It helped a TON
Thanks so much for the tutorial. My LB button on my Elite 2 had trouble responding & the first method worked & it responds better than it did before. If it ever happens again, I'll definitely use your video👍👍
First method worked a charm! I was really annoyed because my controller had this issue after about a week of owning it, something must have just gotten in there. Thank you.
I was ready to take my controller apart from watching another video. Tried your early steps, with the cardboard and then just blowing hard into it and just like that its back to working great. Thank you very much for this video and a great methodology.
Thank you so much,my RB button wasnt registering when I pressed it so i looked up a video on how to fix and your video helped so much,i didnt even have to take apart my controller, this video really helped out a lot.
Youre a legend bro. Wow the first solution worked, for me. My left shoulder button on the Elite 2 was not registering and/or would require a lot of force to get it to activate. I turned the controller shoulder button down and used a guitar pick to try and clear any debris while simultaneously blowing air into it. What an easy fix... I use anti micro to see that my shoulder button is now back to normal! Thank you! I had swapped back to my xbox one controller but I'm happy to be gaming on Elite 2 again!

@@dhronacfn8592 I feel you there, mine still takes a bit of force but it's a lot less then it was before, I put both the plastic things over the button
So i opened my xbox elite 2 controller with an old driving license and a my swiss army knife tool, i started inserting my license starting by the top and going down. I removed the top cover and i had to lift the little lid that covers the usb port from the inside of the controller by lifting two little holes that are slotted on a little plastic pin. Just barely lift it and it will pop up. I removed the little plastic housong on the button that gets pressed by my RB button and folded it. By this i mean, the little plastic has three sides, so i folded on of the sides so the top now has two layers of plastic. I reinsterted the plastic, set the usb port lid back on the two pins, put the cover back on and now it works. The problem is basically the RB or LB buttons are not pushing the internal button enough so the plastic housing has to be made thicker. Thanks for the video, this method i mentiones solved it for me. I also added a little bit of WD-40 so some buttons, and also blowed it with a straw just in case. Might aswell clean while the lid is open.
Thank you so much for video my LB button was not registering on my Elite Series 2 controller and was nervous about taking my controller apart. A combination of the first two options fixed my problem, so I never even had to take my controller apart. Again, thank you so much for the video!
Thanks bro ur comment helped a lot I did both and now the bumper is working way better it still doesn’t register sometimes but I just have to click a lil harder, I was contemplating getting a new controller but u saved me some money thx.
Great video, bit of cardboard and airflow behind both bumpers sorted it, thought my controller was bollocksed and you saved me another £150 for a new one 👍
Thank you so much! found that using the cardboard, turning it upside down then blowing at the gap formed when I press the LT button with a straw dislodged the crumb. This controller was a gift and I was so upset I thought I broke it
Okay I was literally crying because lock on wasn’t working in my favorite game and it was making it basically unplayable… Did the straw and it made it start registering a lot better it’s still kinda iffy but I’m gona watch the rest of the video later and see if anything else can be done… great video thank you!
I can see the little button depressing with the top plate off....its not dirt or the plastic bumper, its the little button switch itself that always go bad. Obviously the little button needs replacing and that of course means soldering a new one in which Microsoft doesn't sell, they just sell all the plastic stuff that is never the real problems with their controllers. These elite controllers just use the same crap parts as a regular one.
All the buttons for RB LB are the same through out all xbox controllers at least 360 and up i know personally from experience. If you are gonna replace them, replace them with the older 360 rb and lb buttons. ifixit has some and other sites. The 360 ones seem to be more robust then the elites funny enough.
