Have Luke in TLJ stop the Walkers Blasters just like in HISHE except instead of the Comedy insert of Yoda shooting down Kylo actually have the Ship drop down and face them.. but with.. THE KNIGHTS OF REN.
OH SHIT. One less disjointed Story Arch from TFA to TLJ and it would have been epic, Luke facing off with Kylo and his former Students aka the Knights of Ren and Rey there to back Luke up. Then kill Luke off in Episode 9 or maybe if the fight Scene was good enough have Kylo kill Luke in front of Rey to actually give Kylo some weight as a fearsome weighty menace, and give Rey some god damn Character Development and Conflict. Fuck.
HISHE is the best. I wonder why Disney doesn't hire them to make all the Star War movies.
rcmunro22 hell, if Luke just took control of kylos ship and brought it down to ground level personally, would have been a nice payoff for him watching Yoda do that long ago when Luke didn't think he had it in himself to. And Rey would learn the same lesson that he once did.

When I saw Rian Johnson's 150 minute trailer, l got a real bad feeling about Episode 8. But now that HISHE has finally released the actual film, I have to say I was wrong. Star Wars Episode 8 is FREAKING AWESOME!!! Disney, hiring HISHE to do "The Last Jedi" was pure genius!

@Adonan the Stoic - George Lucas is on Record Stating that Luke is the single most powerful Jedi of all time in the Star Wars, lore. So if Kylo can stop a blaster round from a gun and stop to have a conversation without focusing on it like TFA, Luke could have certainly held the Walker Blasts back.

Actually if you read the Legends version of luke you'll realize that this is just child's play to him, in legends he force pushed an entire army, used the force to drag down a star destroyer and during the yuuzhan vong war they described his combat as if he was seemingly using 50 lightsabers at once.

J.J Abrams was hired for IX back in September, picking up after Colin Trevorrow. It will be interesting to see what he salvaged from the nearly 2 years of pre-production that went into it before him, but he already pitched his story to the studio the day VIII hit US cinemas, and is scheduled to begin shooting in the summer.
Keep JJ away from both Star Trek and Star Wars, he's as bad as Michael Bay is to TMNT and Transformers.

Just goes to show it wasn't a hard challenge to make TLJ awesome, RJ chose to purposely make it the opposite for the sake of shock value and being an instigator.

This video gave me the typical Star Wars vibe, at least before the rise of Darth Kennedy. Moreover the humour here wasn't forced like in TLJ, I had a genuine laugh when Ackbar said "it's a trap!"

Firstly, our economy even 2 years ago when your wrote this comment was and still is doing quite well. Secondly, for movie studios to be able to spend millions of dollars to make movies means they have money to spend. The way they make that money is from us, the consumer, who spends money on their product which are movies. If the economy was really in shit, then Hollywood / movie studios in general wouldn’t be doing that great. Your comment is pretty spot on until your economy comment since it makes no sense and ruins your comment.

Just watched the HISHE with my wife. We echoed your exact words: got more of a SW vibe from this than TLJ. That last moment where Luke stops the cannon blasts was incredible and we can just imagine that THAT is the kind of mastery of the Force that he kept hidden away. It would have been the best throwback to Kylo in TFA stopping his one little blaster bolt. I remember we all thought that meant he was AWESOME . How amazing would that have been had Luke upstaged him by catching all of those and tossing them back?!
EXACTLY and seeing both Rey *AND* Luke smacking them back would have cemented such a great Teacher mentor moment. Hell, I think I would have liked Rey more if Luke and her were equally as important as Obi wan and Anakin were in the prequels. Seriously why in the unholy *FUCK* did we not get this story. I mean seriously in this one parody, they kept the same story, but with minor changes it made it *WAY* better.

Technically-speaking, he only caught those Turbolaser Bolts to properly train Rey in Lightsaber Combat in both Forms III: _Soresu_ to deflect blaster bolts, and Form V: _Shien_ in redirecting the blaster bolt attack back at the opponent. A bit of interesting Star Wars Lore, Anakin Skywalker created a more offensive version of Form V that incorporated the Force-empowered acrobatics of Form IV: _Ataru_ to create _Djem So_ which was his go-to strategy during the Clone Wars and was studied extensively by the Jedi Order.
I dont think Ruin Johnson was ever a Star Wars fan. I think the dude lied about his history with Star Wars.
I fully believe he intended to stick it to fans. That opening scene where the top of the ship is the silhouette of a middle finger right at the beginning, I found to be more than coincidence. He knew 100% that his portrayal of Luke was going to cause backlash, Hamill told him. Hamill even said that he told Johnson that he had to think about the fans and Johnson's reply was, "no."
There's a problem with letting directors tell "their story" at the tale end of someone else's story.
Johnson's a coward. He knew he couldn't meet or exceed fans' expectations so, he absolved himself of the responsibility telling himself he was doing something clever by "subverting expectation(which I think is early Disney spin since they aren't brainless, they knew this was going to cause some damage and the spin was ready! lol).
It feels like Johnson didn't get to play with the other kids and their star wars games so, he got his revenge with TLJ, finally, after all of these years. XD
I actually agree with most of that. Disney knew a year ago TLJ was a dud. Thats why there wasnt a theatrical trailer until 6 weeks before it opened.
He recently admitted that the Final Luke vs Darth Vader fight "baffled" him. This man didn't understand the meaning behind the best scene in Star Wars, yet they gave him the 8th movie in a series to write and direct, what the actual fuck.

That scene with luke and rey batting the blaster bolts was exciting even though it was a parody. Before watching the last jedi movie i was hoping luke was training for years and he would have incredible abilities. That scene would have been perfect to showcase it. George lucas said he’s the most powerful jedi of all time and is what his father was supposed to become. Also i don’t believe kylo ren, that rey’s parents are nobodies. he told hux that rey killed snoke so kylo’s a liar.
A powerful Jedi is not someone who kills all the bad guys... As Obi-Wan said in ANH "the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice", and Yoda in TESB: "A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defence, never for attack."
Luke uses the Force in a big way to save people, by not fighting, which is basically the most Luke-y Jedi thing he could do at that point.
Kylo isn't the one who says Rey's parents are nobodies... Rey is.
But it's not even a revelation to her at this point. Maz already tried to accept what she already knew: that the people she was waiting for were never coming back.
ArynCrinn Luke’s sister and the rebels needed help so I think to be defensive is fine but it would be great to see him show his abilities. Yoda used to be able to do tutiminis and maybe something similar to that would be amazing to see. On another note I think yoda may have been planning to kill darth sidious. Maybe some instances the jedi would probably kill.
Quit trying to make "fetch" a thing, it'll never stick. Seriously, TLJ sucked. On many levels. HISHE actually did a better job. Disney/Johnson/Kennedy have made it a point to tell old fans of Star Wars (the ones who spent the money and kept the franchise alive throughout the 80's and 90's) that we don't matter. Trying to justify bad story telling is like an abused spouse trying to say that the abuser doesn't mean it, I just do stupid things and deserve what I get.
Fans of the new canon seriously have an abused victim mentality. They try to justify that which a reasonable person knows is wrong, because they are afraid of losing what they know...

Speaking of Ackbar, and TLJ in general, notice how all of the alien characters were just killed off to make room for humans, like how Ackbar, a major supporting character, an ICONIC character, gets immediately and badly replaced with Holdo? Even Maz got basically a cameo, and I didn't see any other aliens amongst the rebellion. Chewie basically got sidelined on the planet Luke and Rey were on, and even in the beginning, it looked like all the bombers were human. In the original trilogy, at least some of the pilots were aliens. This is STAR WARS, people! Even of the main story follows humans, you could have had more alien supporting characters, on both sides even if you wanted to make a statement. But no, I could count the number of named alien characters appearing in TLJ on one hand, and the total amount of aliens on two.
This may also be why they got rid of the original canon. It was not political enough for the makers of this trilogy. Tell me one time in Legends when the makers of the stories stopped it dead in its tracks just to push an agenda. I was on board when they reset the canon just to give them the benefit of the doubt. Now I see what they really wanted to do. Just sad.

Star Wars was always inclusive and diverse, and having aliens fight along side humans was a subtle way to show that. TLJ shows incredibly well how SJW's are divisive and don't actually care about any of the virtues they signal.
Admiral Ackbar saying "It's a trap!" before destroying the enemy fleet (maybe in a snarky way) should have been the only cheesy moment in the movie!

Smiling with a sour face at a funny and accurate video as if the movie was like this but there is no turning back now and there is so little chance to "make things right" again.
Until the industry started releasing "director's cuts", it was unheard of for anyone to go back and change a released movie. If Lucas can go back and tweak the original trilogy, why can't a better director than Rian Johnson go back and fix The Last Jedi? I wonder if they would even need new footage, there might be enough stuff left on the editing room floor + redubs & voiceovers to correct TLJ, and maybe some reshoots could be done on the sets of IX. Might be easier than JJ retconing a whole lot of stuff just to make a decent plot possible for IX.
At some points you are right, however those cuts have added or changed nuances, maybe I'm ignorant about the subject but I never saw a director's cut that retconned a plot of a movie. If there are any, I'd be happy if you could share.
Maybe.... Lucas planned on selling starwars to Disney in the nineties and did the special editions to show film's aren't locked in one state, to encourage fans and professionals to basically go back and re edit and re dub as much as they desire so everyone's happy and starwars and other series don't become locked into being one thing

Actually, in a sane canon, his memorial should have carvings of the Executor and the Supremacy (Snoke's flying wing) with crosses through them. Just a reminder that this guy takes down super star destroyers the way Wedge Antilles did TIE Fighters.
How about this for a dramatic reveal: Rey is captured by Snoke. Luke goes to rescue Rey. When Luke and Snoke meet. (Dramatic music) Snoke reveals his past (Darth Plagueis) and tells Luke about how he killed Luke's wife. (Music getting intense) Snoke is describing how the death of his wife destroyed Luke. Luke knows that he made the same mistake as his father Anakin defying the Jedi code. Snoke announces to Luke if the Death of your wife did not turn you to the Darkside than how about the death of your DAUGHTER!!! ( Snoke turne to reveal Rey brought in by Imperial guards chained to a torture device.)
Why this reveal works: Luke knows that he made a mistake by marrying a woman and creating an attachment. This made other Jedis' jealous such as Ben Solo who wanted what Luke had but was denied. Luke feeling guilty about being a failed role model to the Jedi padawans gives up all attachments. This is why Rey was placed in hiding from Luke.
A hell lot better at least than the crap we got! Especially since Luke & Rey never had a proper relationship in TLJ to begin with! SW is told through strong characters with strong relationships. TLJ had none or little of it. Luke & Rey had none. A father-daughter situation is what I always wanted from the start but even just a master-student relationship had been just fine. But they didn't even manage to give us that. Why can we fans come up with so many other ideas & plot-points in a heartbeat & the majority of those ideas are so much better? Giving what the audience what it wants may be predictable but it doesn't at all have to mean it's bad in any way. Predictable can at times be better.
I was convinced that Rey was going to be Luke's Daughter because Kathleen Kennedy AKA Darth Feminist said the new trilogy continues the Skywalker story. I was very excited for this reveal in the new movie. However, The Last Jedi ruined my interest in star wars like Luke taking down an AT-AT walker with his light-saber. And with Jar Jar Abrams remarks about men not liking the film is because they are afraid of woman was like a snow speeder flying by and firing at the knocked down AT-AT walker and destroying it to pieces.

People don't realise that many of the issues they have with TLJ were driven by TFA.
Ideally, TLJ would have had a time jump after TFA, but the way TFA ended meant that you could only do that with exposition or a ton of flashbacks to explain things that happened between... which would have been awful.

When I first watched that it made me look more harshly on TLJ because that HISHE episode was so on point. That bit at the end where Luke uses the same ability Kylo did to stop the lasers I was like how the fuck did Rian not think of that, that is some serious oversight.

In episode 1 Anakin referred to a Jedi's weapon as a laser sword.

I came out of TLA feeling disappointed but still liking the film. After this I'm left with this hole inside of me and I just can't help but think to myself ''Why?''. This was actually 10x better then the film. Rian Johnson had some nerve making that post about ''Your Snoke theory sucks.'' or about Rey's parents. His theory? Nope, Snoke is no-one. Nope, Rey's parents? A NOBODY.
That's the way he went with it. He said our theories sucked and he literally has nothing. So fucking stupid.

If this was how the real movie went I would watch it then watch it over and over again.

The only thing that will stop Disney from making these political correct horrible movies is to boycott buying the movie on DVD or blue ray and all the TLJ merchandise.

Hi Jeremy, love your videos. All I can say is, I got the EXACT same reaction when I first watched this HISHE. They understood Star Wars so much I actually enjoyed THIS better than the movie.

That was hilarious and really hits home...I'd really like to know why they couldn't have done at least some of that...But no...Rian Johnson had to be " brilliantly subversive".. ..If they would've done just those things...All the other stuff would've been cool... Porgs, the cow tits, And Finn/Rose didn't matter anyway...Poe getting blasted..would've been fine too..even if he survived somehow Use the inertia of space or say something like" magnetic field activated" or something when people come in from space. Like Leia. But that was a cool video, and very funny...I laughed my ass off! Fan fiction is what it is...don't mess with the fans.

They want these movies to be a different direction, but if they wanted tot do that why did they build off the original movies? I personally love a story that ties itself all together in the end. This was their chance to do that and they failed, miserably.

This is better than the movie.
The Force Awakens was bad also man. The villains were weak. They didn't fill in the history of what has happened. There was no reunion of the main cast. A supposedly weakened empire made an even more massive Weapon. It was flawed this whole trilogy was flawed from the start with weak plot and writing and character development. The Last Jedi was going to have a hard time being good but they didn't even try they were even worse than TFA. The problem was always going to be making a new villain with the same gravitas as the Emperor and Vader. Instead of coming up with something new and interesting the were lazy and went with an easy route of remaking the original trilogy. They did not put the effort in to make a good villain. It would have been hard to come up with a threat that was new and interesting and not from the expanded Universe and not a rehash of what had already been done. They just changed names and locations. Kylo = New Vader Snoke = Palpatine and the stories were A New Hope then Empire only done very very poorly. It's like a retarded Weird Al made a parody of the original movies and was distracted by 5 different things while doing it with a naggy wife continuously poking him and asking where is the female hero? What lines have you written for her? Is she powerful? Make her powerful.
Anyway The Solo movie will be good that is my prediction. It will be liked as well as Rogue One at least. Here is why: It is set in the time where The Emperor and Vader are still in charge of the Empire. Just knowing that will give it a leg up for most people. The villains make these movies. When they have been defeated/killed and replaced with a joke of a villain like Kylo you are doomed from the start. Also Donald Glover was in Community and was awesome in it so I have high hopes. Unfortunately it will keep Kathleen Kennedy from drowning when it does well so damned either way.
Exactly, I honestly cant understand how ppl can praise TFA, especially when it set ground to this whole weak storyline we are now seeing in this new trilogy....
But apparently this guy and so many others would love the movies as long as they use recycled elements and "throwbacks" from the original trilogy, apparently they would be just happy if these new StarWars movies would be just recycled the exact same story elements as in the originals.....
If you ask me, these kind of Star Wars fans are the absolute worst fans.
Basically, when TFA was being made and JJ pitched Starkiller Base, Disney should have said: "No way, no how, son. It's pushing the Episode IV call-back too far." Then, if he insisted, they should have shipped him back to Paramount with a note that read "Trek can keep him."
How do I know I'm right? Disney were so embarrassed by Starkiller Base that they kept it out of all the publicity. It was THAT bad an idea.
to be honest They shoulda have rewrote star killer base as like an ancient sith Temple on a planet that some ancient race has prefected the technology to absorbed stars... they just converted that with their old plan of the death star and fired it and hope for the best destruction possible. And in the TLJ snoke reveal that he Is sad and angry over the lost of his temple "star killer base" which was the home to his master teaching.
Yeah the entire outline wa absurd, More realistically the Galaxy in question should have splintered into factions, so we should have been able to enjoy Republic vs Empire remnants vs other factions so we could have had pitched battles + special ops to undermine eachother. I personally would have loved to have seen Luke vs Windu vs Darth Maul and have this mirrored through the others. Instead we get the "Resistance" as a re-hash of Rebels and as soon as it was made it was obvious that E9 could only ever see us back to E6, which makes the entirety of the story from E1-E9 uncoherent. The new characters are muddled but I gave them benefit of the doubt. Now I dislike all of them except Po Dameron. Even TFA was riddled with identity politics, people were just happy to see the perfect mix between CGI and Practical Effects to notice
