For Unovan Darmanitan, yes. It goes from a fairly fast physical attacker to a slow, bulky special attacker. For Galarian Darmanitan, it's not as bad. The 60 point boost to its BST go to its speed and physical attack. It goes from 140 attack to 160 and 95 speed to 135.
That doesn't sound so bad
@bigjalapeno7061 Unovan Darmanitan is bad because it basically does a 180 for what kind of battler it is. Galarian Darmanitan just increases its 2 main stats, which makes it so much better, but the ability is still a bit of a pain because you can't really control it.
@@Ninja_Geek To add on to this, the big issue with Unovan Darmanitan is that you have to either build for half of its HP bar (and therefore have it be a bit rubbish for the other half) or have it have two half movesets, which is... less than optimal.
Zen Mode is good on the Galarian forme, it's just massively outclassed by Gorilla Tactics; weren't for that, Zen Mode would be solid tbh.

Oh that's a fun idea! Here's another fun one you might enjoy, beating HGSS with only Johto Pokemon.
It sounds weird until you try it and realise almost all HGSS teams have several Kanto Pokemon since Johto's roster is weird.
But you get to do cool stuff like brutalise Miltank with Heracross and find out that Lanturn is actually really good in Johto playthroughs.
"Find out" my brother in christ I'm 95% sure he's already used Lanturn in at least a personal playthrough, considering it's one of his favorite pokemon
Has he done HG/SS with only Pokewalker Pokemon before? That would be a fun playthrough, and quite a workout plan too.

Schoolgirl hannah is honestly one of the biggest non-gym leader threats in the entire game. Especially because the majority of the pokemon you find on your way to route 3 are either normal or dark type
You're basically needed to use the starter or a Rookiedee, and of course they aren't options here.

@@bigjalapeno7061 - because they're trying to save every second, and frame they can, and skipping a whole battle usually takes less time than the battle itself in many cases. Some skips can be tougher than others for various reasons, so the dread may come from the difficulty of the skip OR the difficulty of the trainer since the runner teams are often under-leveled, or both. Not to mention (as gleaned from other comments) Hannah seems to be a surprisingly strong battle early on, even in a normal playthrough.

31:08 yup Mikey, there's a reason zen mode G-Darmanitan was set up so differently, and likely why Minior works differently.
It's stupid to turn from a high-speed high-attack monster into a super slow special attacker at low HP - the additional bulk is useless if you're at half HP and the low speed means you'll be pretty much guaranteed to take another hit.
Hence why G-Darmanitan's stats change differently and why Minior is immune to status and slow first (to set up) and then fast and hits hard at lower health.

But in majority of times, it will attack - using one or the other attack, being capable of destroying that Pancham. I have a challenge, playing pokemon with Fannee Doolee rules. Fannee Doolee was a word game from a 90s show called Zoom who loves all things double lettered. So like Fannee Doolee loves Litten doesn't likes Incineroar. (If you wanna try it as a boy character, you can do it as Mannee)
Rule 1: So you can only use pokemon with double letters in their names like Electibuzz or Eevee.
Rule 2: You can't use pokemon that don't have double letters like Electire or Sylveon. So if a fouble letter pokemon evolves and loses the double letters, you can use it.
Rule 3: You have to nickname your pokemon with double letters, like Buzzworthy for example.

Fun fact: When I was first playing through Sword, I had already learned about the 5% Darumaka spawn in Route 8, since I was really excited to use G-Darmanitan. It took me so DAMN long to find that Darumaka that I ended up finding a shiny Sneasel before I found the Darumaka, my first ever shiny. I ended up running out of balls for the Sneasel, killed it, and then spent another HOUR AND A HALF until I found the Darumaka
