So many questions were set up only to be tossed aside by the next movie and so much character potential squandered by having almost no character progression throughout most of the entire trilogy. If you mean that it also breaks logic almost every turn, leaves a lot of thing unexplained, forgets about some plotlines etc, then yes, they are very similar. But that's basically expected from Michael Bay at that point and I managed to find it somewhat hilarious and at least better than the second one. However Star Wars was once great, even if the dialogue of Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones was somewhat cringy, which made seeing this trilogy so painful.

Ironically using the dark to not be tempted by the dark side. Vader discovers Leia is Luke's sister and Luke absolutely loses it. He rages out on Vader and nearly kills him, until the sight of Vader's severed artificial arm shocks him. He rejects the dark side totally. Palpatine is not too happy and unleashes force lightning on him and Luke is pleading for help from his father. The moment when Vader turned on the Emperor the entire theater erupted in applause and cheers. It was a literal standing ovation. Never before and never since have an audience reacted so passionately to a moment in a movie I've seen...and I've seen a lot of movies.
I feel you Jeremy. I still can't get over this depression that was growing since The Force Awakens. It's hard to enjoy anything new that comes from the Lucasfilm. My wife, who's a fan as big as I am can't even watch the originals now. We changed all the Star Wars posters in our home to some other movies because of the bad taste we got thanks to The Last Jedi. If not this Disney trilogy, we would be spending our quarantine on all sorts of Star Wars marathons, including the movies, series, comic book reading and games. Problem here is some defenders say "its just a movie" not knowing movies are a part of culture. Are davinci drawings are just paintings? Its complete disrespect to culture to say movies are just movies...so 50 shades of grey is same quality as Shakespeare? Because books are also just books.

They're all widely respected and liked, and guess what, they're JJ's/Rian's creations! Besides, the term "popcorn'd" is disrespectful to the MCU and other superhero movies. They are considered "popcorn entertainment" while they're so much more than that. You just have to see them.

Honestly my first thought after seeing the rise of Skywalker was it felt like a Michael Bay movie.
If you mean that it also breaks logic almost every turn, leaves a lot of thing unexplained, forgets about some plotlines etc, then yes, they are very similar.
But that's basically expected from Michael Bay at that point and I managed to find it somewhat hilarious and at least better than the second one.
However Star Wars was once great, even if the dialogue of Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones was somewhat cringy, which made seeing this trilogy so painful.
This is so brutally honest it hurt laughing so hard. So glad someone else is picking apart Klaud "The Mechanic".

@@thesnipingseal8011 I saw ROTJ in the theater when it was originally released. (Yes, I'm that old). The light saber fight between Vader and Luke. Luke was hiding in the dark to avoid fighting Vader. Ironically using the dark to not be tempted by the dark side. Vader discovers Leia is Luke's sister and Luke absolutely loses it. He rages out on Vader and nearly kills him, until the sight of Vader's severed artificial arm shocks him. He rejects the dark side totally. Palpatine is not too happy and unleashes force lightning on him and Luke is pleading for help from his father. The moment when Vader turned on the Emperor the entire theater erupted in applause and cheers. It was a literal standing ovation. Never before and never since have an audience reacted so passionately to a moment in a movie I've seen...and I've seen a lot of movies.

I feel you Jeremy. I still can't get over this depression that was growing since The Force Awakens. It's hard to enjoy anything new that comes from the Lucasfilm. My wife, who's a fan as big as I am can't even watch the originals now. We changed all the Star Wars posters in our home to some other movies because of the bad taste we got thanks to The Last Jedi. If not this Disney trilogy, we would be spending our quarantine on all sorts of Star Wars marathons, including the movies, series, comic book reading and games. We both love Star Wars since we can remember and none of us ever thought that it would ever come to this. It is sad.
