Shout-out to my editor, Josiah Swanson! He came up with the idea to include the Luke/Milking scene. That was well played!

I was excited for TFA, but seeing that ruined my expectations for any further Disney Star Wars films. I had no interest in TLJ after that, especially after they named it "the last jedi" and showed Jake Skywalker saying "it's time for the jedi to end".

  • @MerryMayhem
    @MerryMayhem 6 лет назад +169

If it makes you feel any better, I was completely stoked after I saw the trailer too. And I was highly critical of TFA. The trailer really did look amazing. I was very critical of TFA, but at least that left the Disney canon in a salvageable state. They still could bring in Mara Jade and some of the other great stuff from Legends, they could still work the villains into something worth having, they could still showcase Luke as a badass. After TLJ, the Disney canon is screwed. There's no way they can come back from this one.

    • @allewis4008

Interesting that in this trailer neither Rose, nor Canto Bite, nor Holdo, nor Porgs, nor DJ, nor forced political commentary, nor overused comedy are present at fucking all.
And that Luke actually looks like he'll respect his Father's Lightsaber, accompanied by sinister and bombastic music, when I can't remember fucking anything from the Movie in terms of music.
It tried to present itself as a serious and constructive addition to Star Wars and then it ended up being...a festering pile of shit.
With any luck Rian will be blamed for IX bombing and will be forced to become a Crack Whore to make ends meet.

Past Jeremy is like optimistic Luke from the Original Trilogy. Present-day Jeremy is angry, bitter Luke from The Last Jedi. *The difference* is that we the viewers saw the journey that Jeremy went on, that made him turn his back on the Force, and we understand how he became angry and disillusioned. Old Luke Skywalker just showed up that way, and Rian Johnson just expected us to accept it. You see? That's how you do a character arc, Disney!

LMAO! This may be your funniest vid yet, Jeremy. And it is only so funny because of the major tragedy of why we are laughing. Many of us actually laughed at the horrible jokes in TLJ, even if we knew right away they are horrible & don't belong in SW, it still made us giggle, as in a kind of defensive mechanism inside to try to laugh away the horror of what one is seeing & hearing.
Yeah, you poor fool. But that was the same for so many more of us, Jeremy! I was never that much impressed with this trailer, how it looked, but I loved to just listen to it. it was the same with the TFA trailers (& Rogue One, which is a good movie), Lucasfilm makes fantastic trailers despite the horrible material they have to work on. And they are true masters when it comes to drawing us in with the actual sound of these trailers, especially the music. Anyway, you are far from alone on this boat, buddy. We were so excited. I had high hopes for Rian johnson as well, believing that the different direction & risk taking was gonna take SW into good & interested places, needed places. Never in my life did I ever imagine that his take on what "risk taking" is that it equals doing everything that as few as possible want to happen while ignore entirely what the vast majority want. No one imagined that because where TLJ took us is so totally wrong from a mere story telling point of view, not to mention where SW is supposed to be, so the result was totally unimaginable. But the trailers managed to hide the fact pretty good. They made us childishly excited, which is what SW is meant to do with us! Who the hell gets childishly excited over SJW political agendas & total destruction of establish characters & lore?
Anyway, thanks for the wonderful laugh, Jeremy. I laugh because this is so wicked, even evil, that they stole our enthusiasm like this; first making us take the bait & then knocking us dead. And we were so happy when we just had the bait.

I am 43 this Weekend. I can not begin to explain how much I loved Star Wars as a kid. I was numb after seeing TLJ at my local Theatre. I have never been so unimpressed with a Star Wars movie before and I honestly could not care less about the next one. I too have a young son who loves Star Wars. I cannot believe Disney were so dumb to allow this movie to be made. I will now only watch a Star Wars movie at the theatre if it has received positive reviews by channels such as this one. The film critics I used to respect were all bought and paid for by Disney.

I'm not one of those guys who like to say "I told you", but I had been predicting this disaster since I left the cinema just after watching "The Force Awakens". Many of you liked TFA, there is nothing wrong with that, but in that film there were brush strokes of iconoclasm and I do not mean the death of Han Solo but the fact that they destroyed his love story with Princess Leia just as they completely discarded the inner development of the character. The former smuggler who only cared about money, who later became one of the leaders of the rebellion, returned to become a guy who abandoned the love of his life and the mother of his son to continue smuggling. Another thing that saddened me a lot is finding out that the owner of the fastest ship in the galaxy had lost it and not only that, he had not even bothered to look for it!
Now everyone cries after seeing the murder committed by Rian Johnson, but when I predicted it years ago, everyone called me a prophet of doom

      @brucewayne1662 6 лет назад +5

Yeah about ten minutes into TFA I realized they didn't know what they were doing. The acting was way off, the characters sounded like regular people, the camera angels were too ridiculously tight, the camera moved too much, neither the music nor the sound effects were used to tell the story. There was no buildup and no priming up in the pacing. Not to mention the camera tricks used to try to convey emotion, instead of just having faith in the audience to "get it". Like a lot of Star Wars fans J.J. Abrams just didnt really get Star Wars.

Honestly I can not blame you, no one can. We all wanted this new trilogy to be good, we all wanted to believe Disney would have made justice to the legacy of Star Wars and that Trailer look good.
However the important thing is that we all learned a valuable lesson. That Disney is poisoning Star Wars with the toxic ideology of feminism and that they do not care about us, in the end this movie allows to see Lucasfilm/Disney for what they truly are, and they are greedy bastards with a sort sight vision. And thanks to this film many of us have learned to look past our nostalgia and star listening to reason and wight his we can now fight and we can become the beacon that will guide other fans to fight for Star Wars, to fight for real characters, real stories and to blindly follow any trend.
In end we all learn from our mistakes so that we do no do them again. Which is why it is important Jeremy and all my brothers and sisters that we stand against Disney and their short vision of forcing in toxic ideologies into our legendary franchises, and we will only achieve that by boycotting any Star Wars project, toy, film and other merchandises. Although it is heavy and painful burned we must endure friends, in the end we will all be rewarded by our sacrifices by seeing our beloved franchise, the symbol that introduces to hope and to stand for what it is right, free from the tyranny of SJW, Feminist and Kathleen Kennedy and her goons of Rian Johnson and J.J. Abrams.
    So who is with me?!

    Looking at it now...
This trailer was a big, fat lie.
It got all the scenes that gave us the impression of this film being something else than what we got.
We had Luke training Rey, we had Kylo Ren's internal struggle, it even showed standoff between Finn and Phasma.
What it failed to tease were V.A. Holdo, Rose Tico, and the whole casino planet side plot.
The person who put that trailer together did an amazing job, but it was also a job of deception.
    They knew what we wanted.
They gave us that in the trailer, just to pull off "gotcha!" once we paid for the ticket.

  • @mitromney

The trailer for the Last Jedi was literally the only good thing about the Last Jedi. In all honesty, it was probably made by someone who would've made a much better Star Wars film then Johnson did. It has everything - emotion, suspense, serious tone mimicking the Empire era, sens of betrayal, struggle between good and light side, great music, hints on everything you wanted to see - Luke and Rey training, Rey's decision on turning/not turning to the dark side, Snoke's confrontation...
But what do we learn later in the movie?
There was no emotion, suspense or serious tone. Instead we have yo mama jokes, loads of dumb homour, ridiculous dialogue and sensless plot.
There was no betrayal or struggle between good and bad... Kylo stays on the dark side, Rey stays on the light side, and nobody is challenged even for a second.
There was no new great music. Only re-mastered version of old tracks and some forgettable bullcrap.
There was no Luke and Rey training. These couple lightsaber swings Rey did on her own without Luke even instructing her what to do is literally all the training Rey got and Luke himself is turned into a retarded, murderous coward who dies for nothing.
Snoke's confrontation turns out to be a nothingburger. He is killed off without getting anything to do.
Clearly, the person who made the trailer knew what he/she was doing... even knew what absolute crap should be covered up and never showed until it's too late and you're in cinema sit.

Don't feel bad Jeremy. We were *all* pumped for the film. It looked amazing and we had hope that questions would be answered from the first film, and these characters would be developed further - we were all deceived - and it had nothing to do with fan theories (I avoided those like the plague) They are just shifting the blame onto us and not mature enough, to admit that they made a poor film. Even Rian himself admitted to having a dark hour of the soul, which leads me to believe, that deep down he knows he made a colossal mess of a film.

    @Jeremy my friend,
Im on the group of people that click on your videos as soon as they come up, and like the HONESTY you speak with
....I fear you'll give up or maybe later on they'll convince you to stop saying the Truth about the downfall StarWars have fallen to with Rian Johnson's TheLastJedi
....I was watching TFA a couple of days ago on TNT, Its incredible how sad is it to know JJAbrams did a great job with TFA,
Although Episode7 did not have Luke ...it was all about Luke.
JJ geniously organized the characters in Ep7.
Watching it again a couple of days ago I still cannot get over that final scene...
....John Williams conducts "TheJediSteps" theme(listen to it), a theme filled with a magical, mystery, hope, fullfillness feelings, a theme clearly describing the end of an adventure where a Rey finds a once in a lifetime "wizard" a "master" "wisdom" "a treasure" "a hero" "a legend"
    Rey goes up the stairs,
And the magical treasure hunt troughout all Episode7 is finally found at the end.
    There is Luke standing.
    As powerful as he is.
He already knew Rey had landed.
The Set up for the next movie was set.
    JJ did an A job.
Episode 8 was supposed to show us How Return of The Jedi Luke is even more powerful and wise now
Ok, I understand its about the New Characters, Ok
Well we were supposed to see Luke training Rey in an Courageous way
Luke Explaining how profoundly powerful Snoke is, Luke telling Rey he had previously fought against Snoke and thats the why of Snoke's scars
    And in this Ep8
Luke and Rey would train and go up against Kylo Ren who also gathered now the Knights of Ren
They would all battle, maybe having Kylo turn to the Light side at the end of Ep8
Leaving Ep9 for a final battle of
Kylo, Rey and Luke against Snoke and the Knights of Ren
    There was so much potential.
Ruin Johnson's fakefully wanting to portray himself as a "risktaker" or a "genious" filmaker
Destroyed all the Characters and all the Potential left after Episode 7.
    Its so sad.
