My sister is somewhere in the middle. She likes GoT & the LotR films, but not much other genre. She _loves_ Cavil though. My guess is her demo is the biggest of a bunch of minority Witcher demos. I’ve been thinking about it for the last couple days and my conclusion has lead to this same agreement. He always reacts with tossing out insults and personal attacks. A lot of attacks at certain people of color more than others too. But that’s my personal perception
Zack virtue signalled for nothing because the shooter wasn't even white nor affiliated with G&G as he implied here. But yah Uche is a bad hire and it's sad Jeremy and the others can't see that.
Once Uche calmed down it was a decent conversation between them, but he just came out throwing insults from the start, its the same thing he did on the G&G live stream after the charity event, when Rippa challenged him his go to response was an insult.
I don't see how Jeremy can consider Uche part of his team. He clearly didn't feel that Zack Snyder's words were directed at HIM; it was all those others who were being insulted, and you could see it in their faces as the truth of the words sank in. Uche remained detached from all the hurt; he didn't say "Wait a minute, are you talking about ME?" because the team he cared about was the Hollywood hotshot's team, not little old Geeks and Gamers.

Ivan Jaros organized charities are almost as bad. They have fundraisers that often cost as much as the donations they bring and are often tax shelters and other such crap for the rich.

It would be perfect because it would generate more publicity for the fandom's cause. If Zack declines the meeting then Geeks and Gamers could capitalise on the fact. I was going to subscribe to HBO plus to see the Snyder Cut. Because Snyder did this and never clarified or apologized I will never do so.

However as an individual you buy things with your money not to influence executives but because you want or enjoy or need the thing more than money. I was never a fan of the Snyderverse in the first place but liked that the studio was supporting something the fans wanted fixed. I will be happier spending the $15 for a months worth of HBO subscription elsewhere.

Why did he not tell everyone what Snyder was going to say? Why were you helping to promote a Hollyweird movie? Allowing entities like G+G to represent the fandom will continue to open the door to humiliation and deeper, upcoming persecution. Too many unanswered or unsatisfactory answers about this for trust to remain.
There is 2 reason why everyone is coming down on Jeremy. Number 1 is the fact is he repeatedly voiced his concern about his brand when he should have been voicing concern about his fans. Number 2 is what is Jeremys' Brand? Sucking up to Hollywood while they piss all over him and his fans doesn't seems to be part of his brand. @@RoninRaconteur I am more on the side of lessons learned. A "Sorry, took us by surprise" statement and not getting into any arguments with fans, and this would have passed in a day or so. It took several mistake to blow it up the way it did. They just forgot these guys see us (or pretend to see us) as the enemy. I just hope it doesn't take decades before it really begins to sink in.

I get that too, but in seriousness if Hollywood or anyone else did this we'd call them out and ridicule their weakness. NO One gets a pass. We need to call it out no matter the circumstances. Not learn from that mistake is another thing entirely. And not calling it out may have hurt, but defending Snyder came across as attacking the fans which was really unfortunate.

First- props to Henry Cavill. He gets it. He understands fandom, he understands that fans have expectations, and it’s fair for them to have criticisms or praises of franchises with deep roots (like DC, Marvel, Star Wars, etc).
I still think that what Zack Snyder was garbage; I really believe he was towing a studio/Hollywood line (he looked so uncomfortable giving that statement) and then followed it up with the commentary on the recent events involving Asians. I don’t think he was intentionally linking the two statements, but he was so bad at delivering those messages, it linked them (as Jeremy rightly said- Snyder is an awful public speaker. I say that as a guy with a communications degree who is also terrible at public speaking).
That said, he did need to be checked. Not in an aggressive manner, but in the way similar to what Cavill does in the clip here. I think that also there’s a good chance that if that were done correctly it would have quickly cleared things up, and the uncomfortable feeling everyone had, and the fallout, would not have happened. I honestly don’t think Zack Snyder is one of these hardcore lefty Hollywood types. This incident aside, he has always seemed like a decent guy (by entertainment business standards at least). Sadly, a poorly worded and poorly executed boilerplate studio/ Hollywood statement caused chaos, divisiveness, and, saddest of all, it almost derailed a very worthy charity drive.

Zack saw something in these guys he didn't like and spoke about it. He didn't hide behind a tweet. Or some PR press release. He told then to their faces. That's very stand up of him. Now instead of the people on the stream addressing Zack's comments right then and there they just kept their mouths shut (no backbone). They instead kicked the can down the road and chose to reply through RUclips videos because they couldn't say it to Zack's face. And I doubt they have enough conviction in their beliefs to say it to Zack's face. They say he virtue signaled but they didn't say that to his face.

@@mccleandazza4618 they used THEMSELVES to push his film. He didn't ask them to. And it is makes me think highly of them that he addressed them directly about things he was uncomfortable with rather than pussyfooting around the subject. Americans are big on free speech so I'm sure they appreciated him being upfront as well.
WB threw Snyder under the bus, but fans/geeks/nerds have long memories.
When I first saw this, I thought to myself: Everyone is there for the charity - except Snyder, who disassociated himself not only from the Brand Geeks+Gamers, but from people that "identify" as geeks and/or gamers - including probably many of his fans. He distanced himself from what they were doing - raising money for charity. Doing it obviously because of WB, but doing it nonetheless. He made the decision to kick the charity stream in the [self censored] and I wouldn't be surprised at that being used to cancel him at some point in the future.
As a fan, a geek, a nerd and a gamer - I have cancelled WB: The next company (after Disney) that won't see a single penny from me. I won't shout it out on social media (even though I am a left-leaning, occasionally blue-haired, cat owning woman of the non-standard sexual preference persuasion) - I'll just ghost them.

I think he had to say it, because he's talked multiple times about having to compromise in order to get this movie off the ground. It's stupid to think he came up with this himself, because he didn't have any bad words about g+g before this. The question is why at the very last minute?
