I don't get her fascination with RJ, he makes moderately successful low budget pretend indie movies, how did that man ever get to make a Star Wars movie. Same with JJ, he "can't finish what he starts" , neither of them should have been with a 100 miles of Star Wars , cultural vandals and scam artists
To be fair RJ was kinda the reason the story got fucked, JJ tried to fix the best he could, which really sucks because the force awakens started off good, and honestly felt like this movie should have lead into a stormtrooper rebellion consider all of what happened to them.
RJ made a masterpiece with Looper. All filmmakers start out with small indie movies. James Gunn got his start with Slither, a low budget comedy. He went on to GOTG. No director makes their debut with a big budget movie. At least not since Alien 3 proved that was a bad idea. RJ wasn't a bad choice in general, he was just a bad choice in the context of what JJ was setting up.

There is a single word that can sum up having to read through source material in order to try and make some bloody sense of the plot: *_"Homework"_* I remember back in Highschool, our history teacher gave us Movie Tickets to go see _Amazing Grace_ in theaters, along with a double-sided, 15-20 question/answer sheet that we were supposed to fill in about events that happened in the movie as we went to go watch it. It says a lot about the situation that I barely even remember a single moment in a movie that is based on the historic uphill battle to stop the Slave Trade industry in Great Britain, because I was too busy having to keep a weather eye on both the movies' events and the paper to jot down the answers.
That's the saddest part about it. I talked to relatives about Star Wars and all they talked about is how bad the movie is and they only saw The Force Awaken.
The fact they didn't have a plan was beyond ridiculous. Also how Disney stabbed JJ in the back with creative control is so sad. The KOR were criminally under utilized and apparently Palpatine was brought back because Lucasfilm panicked after TLJ backlash. Just so sad.
Honest Trailer is 100% truth.. The Movie should tell the story...The Han solo not cutting his hair is so funny ...Its Spot on..But as a real Fan ..Its Sad .. Palpatine alone . You're right. The Last Jedi sealed this trilogy's fate. From that point on, JJ had an uphill battle to bring this back for the last movie. And it resulted in a hot mess. It's a shame. There were plenty of little moments, ideas and even characters that could've been expanded and developed. But they threw them away. I don't hate the sequel trilogy like you do. There are elements that I do enjoy. But, on the whole, my feelings are mixed and it did indeed disappoint me.
