With your video i was able to fix my dads 2005 gmc z71 by picking the coil ground with a needle and jump to alternator for ground and the truck started just as you said it would. my 78 year old father said he was impressed with my skills, and i said it was because of Advanced Level Diagnostics video. Thank you so much.

Getting a chance to see professional workflow in real time is humbling. I can eventually get to the same conclusion, but it takes me hours to think things through, test assumptions, and go down the wrong pathways.

I love the one braided cable on the firewall that is already broken and missing. Those cables should never have been used on a vehicle. This is what I don't like about LED test lights. It takes just a miniscule amount of current flow to light one as opposed to an incandescent bulb.

  • @beerwrenchgarage

Exceptional video Man! Thank you for taking the time to show your analysis of the wiring diagrams. I learn something everytime I watch one of your videos.

  • @brakeboss

Its a Chevy so its got to be a bad ground lol. Great Video as always.

  • @joesmo4749

I rebuild alot of these 5.3s 2000-2006 gmc/chevy grounds are all in the same place. Theres 2 up top on back of engine and theres two on driverside lower part of block toward the front of engine.

  • @jamesspash5561

Check your brake clean or what ever you use. In our state the flammable stuff is being phased out.

  • @PhillipBailey

Ground is common to both banks down near the left motor mount bolts. I've had quite a few corroded off. Good diagnostic.
