My 2004 Chevy Blazer extreme at the same thing running down the road I'll send it turned off could that be the same problem that's happening to mine too since yours is 07 and mine is a 04
Dude… this solved our problem with 2004 5.3 reg fuel. He had no 5v signal coming from the ecu to all the coil packs… cranks, but no spark. changed crank, cam sensors, coils, wires, plugs, rear o2 sensors, 1 fuel injector, had mechnics look at truck…no fix. truck got stranded and towed once… 3 weeks of this crap… and it turned out to be this exact same ground issue… note… we had to run a tap ground to both cylinder banks… no more misfires, truck run fine now. … thanks for adding the passionate explanation and the …we fixed it with an old 6ft extention cord for the tap grounds. Could have fixed this for $0 …I feel your aggravation…. This likely applies to all GM 5.3 and possibly 4.3 and others… bad GM grounds. Thanks for sharing! Hope this helps many! Frank
Your the man, I did everything, new coils new crank sensor , watched tons of videos, knew it was something electrical, finally came across this video and bam 10 minutes later she’s up and running.
I'm having the same problem. I just can't SEE exactly what he did here. I'm a chick that isn't stupid with cars and mechanics but what do I need to get: a ground snap? How do I connect it to what wire? The black ground. I get that, but do I peel back to expose the wire? How do I connect? I need simple steps. Please. Where do I get a ground snap? I'm not calling and paying a mechanic. I am the mechanic.
This ground that over time corrodes and needs the eyelet replaced is under the left exhaust manifold near the front of the engine. Follow the negative ground from the battery down to where it meets the small ground wire that attaches to the main ground on the engine. If you look through the bottom part of the wheel well with a flashlight, you can see the 13 mm ground bolt that holds the grounds to the engine. From the top side with a 13 mm deep socket and five-inch extension on my 3/8 drive ratchet I could loosen the bolt. The bolt is short, so when loosened reach down and take it off by hand. The small, loomed wire which is short coming out of the harness is the one you need to replace the eyelet. I replaced with a shrink wrap type eyelet that makes the connection waterproof. Hope this helps with this repair.
Dude I can't thank you enough for the help! I have an 04 Silverado and it's my work horse and parked it running fine then went to start it and just cranked and cranked. NO SPARK, GOOD FUEL PRESSURE I was stumped for several hours came across this video did exactly what you said and BOOM back in business!!!
I got talked into fixing a truck for a friend. I was about to tell her to take to the dealer when I found this video. Thanks for sharing this info, That was the problem.
Wow. You just got my 2003 Silverado 5.3L started an hour ago! It all started when I went outside one summer morning to start her up; she cranked but would not start...just like your video. Changed the plugs and plug wires, checked engine compression, checked fuel pressure, etc, etc. There was no spark at the plugs. Since the dang truck has no distributor, I was lost and the truck just sat there for months. Was about to give up and take her into the shop and likely get hammered for $1000 likes you said. After 25+ youtube videos I stumbled across yours...spliced in a new ground just like you showed me...started up 5 min later like new! Thanks very much. Hey Can't Kill Me. Thanks for taking the time to film this video. I am an avid DIY youtube publisher and know exactly how much work it takes. Your symptoms and my symptoms were identical. I checked fuel pressure (good), compression (good) and finally spark (bad). I verified there was a poor ground on the black wire before adding a jumper to the firewall ground stud. All good now!
Got the fuel pump changed, then the mechanic changed the crank position censer but in the end your video saved the day. Thanks. My truck was a 2006 silverado extended cab with 5.3 L

Thank you for this Information......My Nephews Truck is a 2004 Chevy Silverado 4.8 Liter....Regular cab (118/119/120 Wheel Base however you measure we measured Center to Center) 78" Bed ( Shortbed ) Ordered a Fuel Filter $12 from Rock Auto could not find it on the Rail.....found out it was in the Tank.....Called the Dealership they said $800 or more for Fuel Pump ( do not know IF it is an all in One or IF the Fuel Filter is seperate in the Tank etc. So we came across your Video.....Told Dad to try it so he watched the Video and skinned back the Back Wire Ran a Jumper Wire and Grounded it AND....... IT FIRED RIGHT UP......$AVED $$$$$$$$

thanks for the video. my 03 silverado done the exact same thing. has been a nitemare for over 2 months now. seen this video and in just a few minutes it started up and i finally got to drive it for the first time.
I won’t to say thank u so much for this video I spent $500.00 and still could not figure it out Intell I seen this video it was the ground so thank u rom the bottom of my heart
Thanks! This video led me in the right direction. My issue was with the ground that goes from the firewall to the back of the block. This was my fix. I bought the same oe ground wire and ran it from the firewall bolt to one of the alternator bolts.
Holy fn sht dude! That was it.. I got this 04 5.3L chevy truck into my shop. ppl thought it was a remote start issue. It started then died & wouldn't start no spark.. Had no communication with the scanner.. so great.. cps was a thought but no scanner pain in ass to confirm. Tested the coils had power and ground.. well a weak ground only hold 10v back to battery. Put the jumper on and it started right up. Saved me time and hassle, I didnt want to have to deal with a nightmare today... Research pays off before throwing parts and guessing. Thanks buddy!!! I'm in the money today, appreciate.
@@CantKillMe cool, I found the air box was loaded with a mouse nest and signs of their activity under the intake, so I'm guessing they got to the the ground. If you ever need to do a 6.9 powerstroke heater pipe without pulling the intake I have a vid on that.
Wow I cant thank you enough for this video!!! This was exactly what was wrong with my dads truck and it had been 2 weeks figuring this out!!! Your the best keep up the good work!!!
I was about too send me trucj to the shop in the morning and just saw this video so I tried it and sure enough after a week it fired right up. Thank you so much. If you got cash app or zelle ill send you 50 bucks right now
Thanks, I was 80 miles from home when there was a total loss of power. Had no clue what was going on cause it happened so fast. Got stuck in a bad place on a road so was forced to use tow truck because I tried to turn into a parkinglot a little early so got stuck on a curb and it was impossible to move my suburban by pushing it. Got screwed on the towing cost to move it 100 feet (almost $400 for 100 feet distance). Anyway, tried this and connected it to ground and it started running like crap with a really loud tick, but after a few minutes of running it sounds normal. I'm assuming that the PCU had to adjust. But at least it started running. I'll update tomorrow to see if the tick is something that happens when it's cold vs warmed up, hopefully not and the computer just needed to correct itself. Also, I found it strange because I tested the wire to see if it was connected by connecting positive to the black wire's pin and it was lighting up fine. No idea why that was working but the car wouldn't run like that.
man had this problem happen to me exactly today....everything is alike but mine is not 4x4....they lag on cranking and everything then just went out while doing 55-60 mph....I know what I gotta do tomorrow...thank you saved me hundreds of the scarce bucks
I'm not a mechanic and not good with electrical issues. I don't have the finances to pay a mechanic to fix his truck if you can tell me where I would find this ground wire on a 4.3 liter I would be much appreciative thanks for any help you can give me

Worked exactly like the video. I always try the cheapest options first when you are throwing parts at it, and a wire and a few connectors under 20 buck who knows how much money and time you saved me. Thanks man God bless you.
Glad it helped
I just got stranded at tha dump truck just turned off was there for an hour figuring out wat was tha problem came across ur video did wat you said nd BAM started thanks bro video really helped

BUDDY YOU FIXED MY PROBLEM! THANK YOU SIR! I rebounded both sides of the coil harness. Started like a charm
Glad it helped
@@CantKillMeSay my man's I know nothing about cars wondering where that piece on a 2000 Silverado I would do that too. I'm literally having a crisis. Like literally
My 2005 Chevy 3500 just shut off and died / replaced the crankshaft sensor no luck, saw your video and spliced the black to ground strap no luck, tried going directly to battery and started right up and is running great / thanks for this tip and Happy New Year
Your idea worked I spent a lot of money trying to figure that problem out I found your channel and I watch and it works
Brother you have saved me over $900 dollars in parts the mechanic said I needed. I had the same exact symptoms and did just like u did with ground wire and BAMMM!!! RUNNING PERFECTO!!! THANK U SO MUCH!!
Glad I could help
Thanks so much for your video. I have neighbors who are mechanics who looked at my vehicle that couldn't figure it out. I was thinking it was electrical. Befoe buying and replacing parts I searched videos a few days to try to toubleshoot and to narrow it down. I came across your vid and tried it. Shazam it worked. God Bless.
You're welcome!
I just want to say thanks countless tries and mechanics I have a 04 silverado crank no start jumped the ground on coil harness and started right up thanks again
Man, Thank You, Thank You. After replacing spark plugs, crank sensensor, camsahaft sensor, wires and half my brain and time,.... etc...etc...., 5 minutes following your fix and boom, the truck started right up. Thank You.
yep
Hey Can't Kill Me. Thanks for taking the time to film this video. I am an avid DIY youtube publisher and know exactly how much work it takes. Your symptoms and my symptoms were identical. I checked fuel pressure (good), compression (good) and finally spark (bad). I verified there was a poor ground on the black wire before adding a jumper to the firewall ground stud. All good now!
glade it help you
Got the fuel pump changed, then the mechanic changed the crank position censer but in the end your video saved the day. Thanks. My truck was a 2006 silverado extended cab with 5.3 L
GOD FUCKING BLESS YOU MAN! I’ve been getting attacked financially and I wasnt going to make it. But you have given me hope again !! I TRUST YOUR WORD OTHER THAN ANYBODY ELSE AT THIS POINT
Thank you so much spend all day trying to get my truck fixed and cam across your video. You saved my day
Glad to hear it
I'm having the same exact issue with my truck. Good job on that find for a fix. Because I was about to get a cam sensor, crank sensor coil packs, and plugs, but your advice did the trick. Good lookin out bro. I appreciate it, and my wallet does too lol

K this lil genius Made my day! I love you man. Same problem on my Silverado, no codes, good fuel, but no spark. Ground points all good, sensors good, rpm reading cool, spark advance cool, so Hooked a ground up to that lil black wire like he shows in the video and shazaaam bam runs like a top. Cheers bud! Thanks for the video
your welcome

You Rock! After 5-6 hours of my time, I watched your video and you nailed it. Couldn't believe that this was my problem all along. Thank you so much!
AirRagnar where am I connecting the wire too
I won’t to say thank u so much for this video I spent $500.00 and still could not figure it out Intell I seen this video it was the ground so thank u rom the bottom of my heart
Thanks! This video led me in the right direction. My issue was with the ground that goes from the firewall to the back of the block. This was my fix. I bought the same oe ground wire and ran it from the firewall bolt to one of the alternator bolts.
Glad it helped!
I'm in the money today, appreciate.
anytime thats why I put it out there for
@@CantKillMe cool, I found the air box was loaded with a mouse nest and signs of their activity under the intake, so I'm guessing they got to the the ground.
If you ever need to do a 6.9 powerstroke heater pipe without pulling the intake I have a vid on that.
Wow I cant thank you enough for this video!!! This was exactly what was wrong with my dads truck and it had been 2 weeks figuring this out!!! Your the best keep up the good work!!!
your welcome
What a great video! Thanks a million man! Saved me a lot of headaches, time, and money. Works just like you said.
This worked for me on my Chevy SSR 6.0 LS2. Thank you!
You nailed it .
I was about too send me trucj to the shop in the morning and just saw this video so I tried it and sure enough after a week it fired right up. Thank you so much. If you got cash app or zelle ill send you 50 bucks right now
anytime
Ur the man my truck died I n me on my way at home 2 days ago saw this and now my truck is back up and running
Thank you for the info. Fixed my no spark issue on my 2006 6.0.
I'm not a mechanic and not good with electrical issues. I don't have the finances to pay a mechanic to fix his truck if you can tell me where I would find this ground wire on a 4.3 liter I would be much appreciative thanks for any help you can give me
Did you figure out where it is on a 4.3 motor?
@@KevinWest-ki8db no
I just finished swapping a 5.3 shortblock out of a wrecked 99 silverado into an 03 sierra & u saved me a bunch of time chasing & second guessing
You are a rock star! Made some loot from your video. Meanwhile the "Professionals" are throwing fuel pumps, crank pos sensors etc at this guys truck and all I do is snip a wire and ground it. Boom! Thanks dude!
thanks
Brother you saved my ass cause I didn't know what else to do watched your video did what you said truck cranked right up thanks
So my 4.3 ltr is a little different and i only have one coil on the passenger side right next to my icm, do you know where it is? My truck has been sitting for 3 months
