I bought the Xtool D7w last week. I bought it because it has 3 years of free updates and $99 a year after. Most tools have 1 or 2 years and some updates are a lot more money.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics Fine, it works on my 2022 Kia K5. Having no issues yet, so I just tried it out and bought for it future use. It is to avoid dealer service for minor things since I like to DIY.
These vehicles are strong cars, not much issues. Xtool makes some solid scan tools, some may disagree. The one thing I dislike with the tool is that you can't change the units so you have math to do.cheers
THANKS FOR THE GREAT DIAGNOSTIC VIDEO ........... I HAVE THE XTOOL D8 ITS A VERY QUICK TOOL . JUST WONDERING DOES THAT D7W HAVE THE FUNCTION TO TEST THE CAN SIGNALS MY D8 HAS A FUNCTION THAT WILL FLAG NON COMMUNICATING MODULES .
The D7W is actually a pretty decent scan tool for the money, but the D8W is a true monster!! Xtool is such an overlooked and underestimated brand. Im telling you, the xtool D8W will put $2,000 scan tools to sleep. My only gripe is that i wish that they could get fca autoauth going with their scan tools, but other than that, its a freaking monster!! The customer service is phenomenal too!!
Since I noticed it here I've been checking it and it seems Everytime on a Toyota that it was 100 percent, it was a fuel issue. Not sure if I can fully trust it yet but It happened around 6 times after this.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics I checked the load PID on a 2017 yaris ia cranking, this car does not have any problems and the load PID went to 100%. By the way something else interesting on this car(my car)with the VCI on the OBD connector and the scan tool turned off the key fob did not work and it set key fob codes, with the scan tool on, no issues, this make for a good case of using the hard cable when in doubt, have you experienced this? @@advancedleveldiagnostics Thank you for the reply. These discussions and exchange of information are crucial to our success as diagnostic techs. Here is another interesting one to test further, graph RPM and MAF cranking on an engine with a mechanically dead cylinder, choppy lines instead of normally smooth, I observed this last week on a 2012 5.0 l. Jaguar, number 7 had a stuck open intake valve as per leak down test verification.
Great job as always! Just curious...so you do the diag and them tell the customer what the problem is and in turn they bring it to the shop for repair? I would think that the shop would run their own diag to confirm thus charging the customer. How does that all work???
If scan tool shows nothing first thing I do if it's cranking strong then I know it's not pressure i take rubber mallet bang on gas tank if it starts i know most likely fuel pump but U have to have someone with u to do that

Thorough job! Verified no fuel pressure, but even went as far as testing the wiring harness to the pump. Leaves no stone unturned.
That’s what a real technician does! Not a parts changer
I really like your diag process and I can’t say enough about your truck setup.thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge
I appreciate that!
Well done.
Funny how banging the tank never works on RUclips.
I know right! If I wasn't recording, it would work, guaranteed!
holy crap 5k ohms! no way any amps can get through to that pump... great diagnosis! keep these videos coming!
Ole trusty can of starting fluid is my quick go to most of the time!
This guy is unbelievable genius! Dressed his best to come work on cars !
Nice work man! I see they left you some snacks by the fuel pump cover 😂
😂
Nice work. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I have an xtool scanner, and i love it. You can charge it through the usb port on the left side. I charge mine that way in the car all the time!
Thanks that's great to know!
Great video. I did that one time and forgot to look at broken fuel gauge. Lol when taking pump out there was no gas 🤦🏼♂️😁
I've been burned by that too lol. That's why I checked continuity through the pump.

2015 toyota corolla remote start it cranks over but won't fire but starts fine with key in the ignition
I have the Xtool D8... it's really good a making keys
usually i spray carb cleaner first to see if it trys to start and then i go for pressure and electrical
Me too, The only reason I did it differently here was because initially it started.

If they end up joining Nastf, they'll probably be able to get auto auth.
That was great 👍🏼 !
Thanks !! 👊🏼 🔥
Glad you liked it!
Nice work. Quick question, why didn’t you use bidirectional control to check the fuel pump???
I could of I just found it easier to crank it.
Great job as usual. Any theory on 100% load PID cranking?

Theres a 100$ coupon on the scanner now on Amazon. That's a lot of scan tool for 439$. I'm tempted.
It also comes with 3 years of updates.

Nice. Btw you would have better chance starting it by hitting the top of the pump assy.
Thanks for the tip
Review the tool see what immobilizer functions it has
no battery? does not show voltage?
There is a battery in it, I was talking about how it doesn't show the battery voltage of the car.
Top don or launch x431 ?
I like the feel and support of TopDon over Launch. Otherwise, they're kind of the same.
Be sweet to see how to diagnose a 3 phase fuel pump
I don't think I've seen a bad one yet.
i think the whole engine bay needs a clean as well ...

💯 agree!
Charging for electronics should be standardized to USB-C across the board, from phones to tablets, PC's etc. It was supposed to happen many years ago.
