    Nice one. Common problem on Chevy's. Very straightforward diagnostic. You know your stuff.

    Wow, a lot of important lessons buried in this video. I love your clear nail polish trick. I wonder how it stands up over the long term. Even though liquid electric tape should be better, I go through cans of that because the containers dry out.

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  Год назад +3

      I've been using it for a while, and it seems to seal very well. When the hole is a little bigger than a prick, like if the copper is showing a little, I still use Liquid tape. Even though I can never get the stuff off my hands😃

      I use both but in rust belt the nail polish will last longer then the frame of the car 😁

    why does he use the Lightbulb and not just the test light? Still learning Id appreciate any insights

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  9 месяцев назад +3

      A regular incandescent test light only pulls about 150 milliamps of current; the light bulb takes 4.5 amps of current. I want to make sure it can handle a load.

    I love the way he did it finding missing ground (((( ''I'm not an expert so I'm still learning as well'' )))but wouldn't you think an easier way would be a quick voltage drop onto the ground battery to groung using voltage drop

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  Год назад +1

      Then I would have to keep it plugged in and back probe it so the circuit would be loaded. This way, it puts 4amps on the circuit even when it's not working.

      I think you have a diffrent issue because on this car it would not crank at all, because there was no communication with the computer.

      I used to use a sim card installed in the computer, but I couldn't figure out how to make it into a hotspot for my scan tools. Now I use an At&t Netgear portable hotspot that I keep in my pocket.

      It's a Launch PRO3S+HDIII, Diesel & Gasoline Bidirectional Diagnostic Scan
      amzn.to/3t6LCx4
      I got it on amazon it is the chinese version which didn't bother me. If you're looking for something with much better support I would recommend TopDon

    Got rid of the Suburban for a truck? That had to be very cramped for all the equipment you need.

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  Год назад

      Yup, I paid junk for this 07 F450. I wasn't thrilled initially, but now that I'm setting it up, it is really nice to have all that room! The suburban was slowly dying as I really was abusing it with all the weight😀

      @@advancedleveldiagnostics Back in the day I tried all kinds of vehicles and finally bought an E150 little did I know I was going to overweight that too but working out of a proper vehicle makes life so much easier. On that E150 I went through rear axles and bearings. The best I could do was take it to a truck spring shop. Never had an axle or bearing problem again. That 450 should hold a bit of weight. Parking garages and low overhangs are the only major drawback but even my van gave me the same issues. I had a PoPo style lightbar on the roof with lights and a P.A. as we do emergency service calls.
      I'm working on something with Techstream. Newer Toyota's have output and input codes for lost keys. The scan tool gives you 3 output codes and through NASTF you have to pay Toyota $70 for a 2 day rental for the input code. I may have a work around a lot cheaper. Will know when we get the next one. If it works I will email you how it's done.

    What Launch scanner is that and how do you like it?

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  Год назад +3

      LAUNCH X431 PRO3S+HDIII amzn.to/3t6LCx4 , I got it to do HD Trucks as my Topdon is incapable. I like launch software. It is almost the same as topdon. I feel the hardware is of lesser quality than the Topdon, But that's most likely because I just got the Chinese one. It can still access the FCA gateway module, which is pretty cool.
