I have 2005 Buick Lacrosse CXL(230K miles now). Yesterday Chicagoland morning was pretty cold (-5 F outdoor). I met the problem "Starting disabled“。 After temperature reached 5 F (afternoon), I was able to start it again. I had communication code (U0107) before, and I disconnected negative battery and reset DCT code two weeks ago. I checked this code disappearing one week ago. I will keep eye on OBD II later. Thanks for sharing your diagnosis procedure.
HY, BRIAN GREAT DIAGNOSIS . THIS VIDEO GOT ME TO THINKING , HOW DO I GET A VEHICLE TO SET TROUBLE CODES WITH NO CRANK SYMPTOMS . THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO MAKE THIS OUTSTANDING VIDEO !!!
Seen this before with GM products of this era, you can "fool" the car and start it with a working key and then immediately turn it off and start it with a faulty key. If you wait a minute or lock/unlock the car it definitely will not start with the faulty key. Good job Brian.
Great job on this vehicle, Brian! I hope you and the family had a wonderful and relaxing vacation.
Brian glad to see all is well. Thanks for sharing.👍
Awesome. I love finding broken wires! You're right that car did look pretty rough
Next time you have to organize your truck we would love to come along.😀

It is interesting that they allow the vehicle to start with no key signal. I don't know how many newer vehicles do this as well?
How do I go about getting a correct key for my Buick?
The dealer can probally get you one, or a locksmith. Not sure i understand what you arr asking..
