- "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Hero Mode" is a mod created for TTYD that features new characters, artwork, story components, battle mechanics, overworld puzzles, and more to the base game in order to freshen it up, create a more challenging experience, and make an expansion on what everybody loved about the second Paper Mario. In this video I decided to check out the Pit of 100 Trials since it is available in the demo of the game!

Yo, Bringle, can you check out Paper Mario TTYD64? It’s exactly what it sounds like, TTYD mechanics, all badges, moves, items, and etc, all ported to Paper Mario 64. Yes, it has a Pit of 100 Trials.
EDIT: The modder’s username is eldexterr. He just recently retired from modding, but he’s made other Paper Mario 64 mods; Most notably, The Black Pit. In short terms, it’s a Pit of 100 trials roguelike, with lots of new, original content.
So Black Pit is kinda like ttyd’s infinite pit for 64
Side note: Do NOT play on Very Hard mode fot the first playthrough. One of the players the community considers the best (Phantom A/Aarantula) gave up in chapter 7 (Granted he wasn't abusing danger or superguards and did true BP only, but still) and another (Fatguy703) didn't even try hard mode.
Yeah TTYD64 was such a freaking blast. I loved that mod. Paper Mario 64 was already a great game, but TTYD64 was on another freaking level.

@@jfkhdsjfhjdslhfsd.f1888They basically took an indefinite leave (?) after being accused of domestic violence by an ex of theirs. Pretty sure the timing being around when COVID started is unfortunately why it probably ended up that way.
@@jfkhdsjfhjdslhfsd.f1888from what I could tell, some say there was drama with him and his gf, but what he said in a discord message basically boils down to he had to work on himself health wise (specifically with his relationship with eating. He has anxiety about eating because of an experience with an allergic reaction he had when he was little). Past that he's going back to school and is moving.
I always loved his videos and I couldnt find much on the claim about him and his girlfriend (specifically that he was abusing her. Again I couldn't really find much on it so I think it's false?). Maybe sometime he'll come back. Guess we just gotta wait and see
As someone in the hero mode discord, trust me when i say getting to floor 25 glichless is really good
I think the reason why the "PS: This Goomba works just like a normal Goomba" message is there is probably because the actual exploding part isn't implemented yet, so it was just given a ton of damage to compensate.
For context this pit was transferred over from v2.2 so its hard as the mechanics are different between 2.2 and 3.3

He's way too used to being underleved the whole game and then grinding Chapter 8 for easy XP
I've only tried the Pit that's in v3.3 once and made it to Floor 52, for context LOL The v1.x Hero Mode Pit was tough, but I was able to do it and a Pre-Hooktail Pit variant of it. LOL. I think it'll be better balanced in this upcoming demo release.

I feel like an underrated aspect of your vids is your oustanding musical taste. Alder's Theme is a great deep cut.

Is it possible to grind the first 10 or 20 floors a couple times? Like, maybe you could leave at floor 10 or 20 and do it again a couple times to get your levels up some.
I was thinking this too, only problem would be the decreasing amount of star points due to all the level ups, therefore less full restores.
@@noahrunningrobotman9882 True, but in repeated dips into the pit, he could probably make it further, increasing the payoff. The only downside to this would be it’d be a lot of work.
@@twigglyfiggly3429 Yeah, I was thinking along the lines of '20 HP that refills after every fight will end up being more than 80 HP once' but now I've realised that at some point he's going to have to take damage due to limited superguards and would definitely need more health to survive. (Not to mention multi-hit enemies like Arantulas that can take down 3 superguards in one attack.)

Maybe instead of having 2 frame superguards, they could be 3 frames but you still take 1 damage if you hit the 1st or 3rd frames.

If you are wondering, yes, it is id say about 60% harder now if you go through all the patch notes of each phase from then until now.

It functions like Mega Jump from the first Paper Mario, it didn't end up being super significant.
