Since I've gotten multiple comments about it. Yes, i do use the partners on the overworld. That's what i meant by, i use them for "overworld activities". That is the same reason i included the rule to not pick up items that require the use of partners to reach. This way, i can continue through the game, but not benefit from the use of partners. The challenge is more about seeing if Mario can defeat every enemy on the game completely by himself. Sorry for any confusion haha.

'^^ (Also the Grubba line in the Glitz Pit normally happens in the once-per-run opportunity of if you take the poison cake, which leads to your partner eating most of it and ending up unable to fight as a result; as I'm sure plenty otters-- err, plenty *others* have already pointed out in the comments. I technically pretended this 2 years ago, the wrong way, I just played normally and pretended the normal partners were completely DIFFERENT characters I recorded it actually, only up until after getting into the major league at the Glitzpit though, than I stopped, but until that point, you can see how a lot of it played it (the story goes way deeper than that lol, so, I guess this is just what would happen if the new partners weren't in there as replacements, but the true partners still disappeared)

IRC impossible the IRON Cleft Arena battles are required enemies and NOTHING can damage them BESIDES Gulp from Yoshi not even the P Block ATTACK items can damage them AT all in fact NO attack item CAN.
i mean. ima be real. i just used a clip and didnt even realize that the cricket badge was in the clip. You can tell that I didnt have it for the fight though. I fought hooktail with it originally, realized it was too easy, and decided that It wouldve made sense to not use it anyway.

Maybe next challenge should be partner's only though heres some rules 1. No buying badges witch coins 2. No supergarding 3. Must at least get ms mouse And 4. No life shrooms Also mario is only aloud to battle in the tutorial after you get gombella no more fighting for him

The answer is no. Yoshi is required unless you cheat the game to having more badges and bp in order to beat the armored guys.
Badges and BP don't matter. Only the Yoshi can do it. But that's why I worked around it
Yoshi is mandatory no matter how much badges and BP you have.
It's game's way of making sure you don't skip Yoshi on this chapter.
