As someone who tested this very thing, allow me to clear things up. To receive optional Emails like Jolene's and Mush's, you need to complete roughly 20 battles after you fulfill their requirements. This means that once you finish Jolene's trouble, you need to complete 20 battles before you receive Jolene's email, and then 20 more battles after that to get Mush's. And no, you can't just do 40 battles in a row, you NEED to get Jolene's email first before the counter for Mush's even begins. This distinction only matters because there are some locations in the game that completely block you from receiving emails at all, including dungeons, the sewers, and the Pit of 100 Trials, meaning that once you've finished enough battles, you need to make sure you enter an area where emails are not blocked so that you'll receive them properly. Yes this is complicated, but knowing all of this, I can confirm that Mush can indeed be fought before you've even brought the Gold Star to the Thousand-Year Door. (Though I'd recommend doing so first anyways, not only because you'll get warped up to Frankly's house afterward and can swing by the Trouble Center right away, but it'll also open the shortcut pipe to make completing Jolene's trouble much faster.)
so theoretically, you could do Jolene's task, then grind up the entire Glitz Pit itself to become Champion again, receive Jolene's first mail, and then do 20 MORE battles offscreen (like, say, Pine T Jr's trouble making you go down to floor 18 of the Pit of 100 Trials to find his dad and then to floor 20 to make him escape, and maybe the trouble of the Toad in the Boggly Woods for a few more encounters?), receive Mush's email, and then go fight him before even "completing" chapter 3?
Honestly I'm not sure if you even need to complete any battles to get Mush's email. My sister completed Jolene's trouble post-game after beating Bonetail and Whacka, she killed time by completing other troubles and barely ran into any enemies. It must have taken an hour or two after finishing Jolene's trouble to get Mush's email. It felt very random
The earliest you can fight Mush is technically pre chapter 4, but the email system works so weirdly in this game I had to look up how to make it progress from people saying you had to wait longer to some saying you have to do battles to make it appear faster (so battles in the glitz pit for your comeback could help). What I did was start chapter 4, go up to the door leading to doopliss' room but not fight him so that way I didn't lock myself in chapter 4 and then head back to rougeport where after waiting a little more i finally got prince mush's email. This was in my Pre-Hooktail pit file so i managed to clear him out easily afterwards lol.
I did a Level 0 run and doing battles got the Whacka email to appear but not the Mush email. Not sure if it’s luck or not. My brother did the Prince Mush trouble directly after Chapter 4 and didn’t get the email until after beating Chaoter 6.
I'm glad I managed to find Prince mush on my own. Id assumed he was just content I missed when I was a kid. Super cool they added him in. But my God I was not ready for him.
"Beat him before phase 2" is what I ended up doing as well, but just used a ton of charges on Mario instead because I didn't think to do it on Yoshi. Still worked, still got him to just above half. He's hard if you go in without a plan, but honestly trivial with some thought into it.

Needless to say I was absolutely mortified when he showed me what he was capable of and knocked me out in just a few turns. I can definitely confirm it's at least a third into chapter 4. You'll need a little bit of luck and piercing blow but as long as you get him into the right stance he became pretty consistent.
I still think the most incredible part about Mush's fight that, barring rushing him from his first phase to 0 HP, he's REALLY cheese-proof, because: He's immune to all forms of elemental damage(Fire, Explosion, Thunder, etc). So you can't just spam attack items on him, nor can you cheese his dodging mechanic by doing damage outside of your turns, like using Bobbery's Bomb Squad or fire damage. Hell, during his second phase, while he has his clones up, Mush becomes 1 of 3 enemies that can nullify Specials damage(the other 2 being the Iron Clefts & Shadow Queen near the end of her 1st phase).
FP only, more like partner only HP only would be the most boring. Same vanilla basic attacks and constant badge swapping (like piercing blow on high defense enemies) would make a 30 hour game turn into 50+ hours
That's just incorrect. It only makes harder in the sense of in late game you'll die really fast since not many enemies in the mid game can kill 10-15 mario in like one turn or hit.

Are there any plans to expand your challenge videos into other RPGs outside of Paper Mario? Even if you stay with PM, I’m looking forward to whatever you put out in the future; this channel has become one of my favorites I’ve found in the last few months.
Definitely hardest boss. Shadow queen is super hard if you’re not leveled up or don’t have the right badges and strat, but bonetail and whacka don’t really come close imho
@@AkameGaKillfan777 my first time with whacka I don’t think I got hit, partly luck from a smoke screen and badges but also his attacks are so much easier to super guard cos the visual cue is pretty straightforward. But the risk of getting hit so hard is real lol, so different from bonetail’s gentle touch
The mechanic is apparently 20 battles to get each email to trigger - 40 battles total. I did that and was able to fight Mush before even talking to Darkly, let alone starting Ch 4. As for my strategy, I used Peril Yoshi + Power Lift. Even with the badges available at the end of Ch 3, Yoshi wrecks him. You can actually beat him in 2 turns with the right build if you superguard his first attack.
Well I just power bounced once and he fell over. What’s that you say? I’m covered head to toe in power rush badges? You’re hallucinating it was pure skill
Took me 5-7 tries to beat mush pre chapter 5, since that was when I got the email. My strategy was to use piercing hammer on the proper stance and use supers like art attack or earth tremor on the bouncing stance since special attacks pierce defense. Partners were for support and farming appeals since I am not confident in doing peril strats When I landed a super gaurd my partner would attack, mainly yoshi for more hits as I can't get past the multibonk timing yet, and jump as mario since it would do more damage. I had 1 power plus, 1 defense plus, piercing blow, 2 hp plusses, 2 pretty luckies, lucky start and quick change. My inventory was random stuff i had, a boo sheet, power punch, roasted mushrooms, honey mushroom, 1 life shroom, a couples cake, a fire flower, a couple normal mushrooms, and 3 items that didn't serve much value: a tasty tonic, a voltshroom and an ice storm.
I did the Prince Mush fight after beatin' the whole game Is just a time thing, so inbetween you are just like doin' the missions or finish the 100 Pit and you'll get the email eventually
Video 3 where I request a "Disabled Mario" Challenge. Post Chapter 1, Pre Chapter 2 Pit of 100 trials. You must wear Jumpman, Hammerman and Double Pain
I beat him after chapter 4. Could have probably done it after character 3, but I couldn't be bothered redoing the glitz pit straight away, and I assumed I'd have to do that before Mush
Before even watching the video, I can say it's possible before finishing Chapter 4. (Because that's what I did on my 1st playthrough... 😅) I didn't even leave Twilight Town the 1st time before going back for him.
Not sure if this is documented anywhere, but Mush has a really funny interaction with Return Postage. I wanted to see if I could do something interesting with it on, but it actually completely breaks the fight (in a very boring way, IMO). Mush doesn't take reflect damage, and it doesn't drop his defense, BUT it cancels his combo attack. He'll only attack you once, no matter if he's in his first or second phase. There's no indication that something happened, he just attacks you once and stops. A possible strategy for anyone who wants to beat him in the postgame... but definitely less butt-clenching XD
I would find it quite interesting if you tried beating terraria doing certain things intended for later action to be beat as early as they become available in that game’s progression.
You could theoretically beat Prince Mush since the start of the game if he was available then, but you would need to Superguard every attack to lower his defense to 0 and attack him 48 times.
Fun fact, you don't have to put the star up to the door once you beat chapter four. Found that out when I was doing my video for the recipes you can get once you beat chapter four. It happened in the middle of the recording. That being said, you do need to wait quite a bit since I also did the chapter four troubles before the recipes.
I also beat prince mush pre chapter 5 by just abusing the hell out of Shell Shield i used a high Mario power/high partner def/fp econ badge setup and just used koops to shield mario and tank damage while Mario charged up enough to kill him with one power bounce that's also how i beat bonetail and whacka all at 10hp, shell shield is busted lmao
I beat Prince Mush at like...Ch. 6 right after unlocking the tier 3 Partners. Goombella's Rally Wink saved me more than a few times. Also could not have done it without using Power Lift. Like...I could not.
I think the emails, at least Prince Mush's, are dependent on how many battles you've done since completing the trouble. I haven't started chapter 4 yet, but I got his email immediately after a 50 floor run of the Pit of 100 Trials
Next is a vid on Whacka I guess. Interestingly enough, Whacka is the only boss that you're forced to wait til post game to fight. Devs clearly intended on that being the toughest fight but some beg to differ. Given Whacka can heal (and by almost all his HP) and can potentially deal more damage than anyone else, I'd say he could be the hardest fight.
So i personally did it right after the chapter. I completed it and went back to max out my rank again after putting the star. And then after like 2 side quests it came out. Charge and power lift to max made it do able
12:16 lol I'm not anti-superguarding, I just can't do it. I can't even get regular guards consistently. I dunno what it is, my brain just can't find the timing for it, never has. So I'm glad this is possible without superguards.
By what i know you get the jolene email after doing her trouble and then waiting in rouge port for 30 minutes and than after that the mush email will come after another hour
"So how early are we going to be able to beat him" I mean yeah, plotwise you kinda need to beat three chapters to even unlock him. But what the game failed to consider is that this also means that it is giving someone like Bringle ,,,four? entire chapters of preparation (and then access to the overworld) to rearrange the champion's teeth towards the back of his head by way of excessive footage? and uh ...hammerage. Like yeah you're a force to be reckoned with but brother, you are up against fucking Bringle. This man is in a self-inflicted Groundhog Day loop with the sole purpose of figuring out your moves so that he can eventually destroy you and nothing you have will be good enough because Bringle will know at least 27 counters against every one of them. I cant imagine the amount of war crimes you have to have committed against him specifically for him to enter this vengeful deity state but I reckon that now is a prime time to start shitting your pants. Because when he exits this loop? He's gonna anniilate you point blank.
After i re-did the glitz pit i just practiced with the battle master for a while then went back to rougeport and got mush's email (although that was after chapter 4 buut...)
Just started the video, but using strategies I learned from watching you, I beat the Prince in 3 turns (it was during Chapter 7, but who's counting lol)
I haven’t got to fighting Whacka yet, so I’m not sure if he’s tougher than Bonetail or not. But you should definitely do a how early can you beat whacka if he’s anywhere near as hard
I beat him right after Chapter 4, I am a Superguard god. Watching the video, you actually had the same stats as me! Okay it was close though lol. I needed to hit the very last superguard one or I would lose.
I kind of wish Jolene's mission wouldn't be listed until at least chapter 4. Not to prolong the game or anything just so the text makes a bit of sense.

The charge badge Is amazing,i beat prince mush with 3 badges equipped : + 4 charge for turn,10 turn of charge + Power bounce is easy k.o.
Took me 5-7 tries to beat mush pre chapter 5, since that was when I got the email.
My strategy was to use piercing hammer on the proper stance and use supers like art attack or earth tremor on the bouncing stance since special attacks pierce defense.
Partners were for support and farming appeals since I am not confident in doing peril strats
When I landed a super gaurd my partner would attack, mainly yoshi for more hits as I can't get past the multibonk timing yet, and jump as mario since it would do more damage.
I did the Prince Mush fight after beatin' the whole game
Is just a time thing, so inbetween you are just like doin' the missions or finish the 100 Pit and you'll get the email eventually
Lol I really did just finish 100% in this game except star pieces. Perfect timing
Would be cool to see a level 1 Prince mush challange!
I didn't even leave Twilight Town the 1st time before going back for him.
I beat prince mush after chapter 4 in my regular playtrough, which turns out to be the earliest possible time.
Watching you play fullfile my need of playing the game
Another wonderful video from our Bringle
A thought occurred can we get bosses vs other bosses?
solid watch
11:41
They got him. Nintendo got him. They forced him to say Mushroom.
Me going to bed
*A new Bringle vid pop up*
"Never mind this is important"
You could theoretically beat Prince Mush since the start of the game if he was available then, but you would need to Superguard every attack to lower his defense to 0 and attack him 48 times.
I just beat the game for the first time the other day and I don’t think I ever hit a single super guard lol. Didn’t know they existed
I also beat prince mush pre chapter 5 by just abusing the hell out of Shell Shield
i used a high Mario power/high partner def/fp econ badge setup and just used koops to shield mario and tank damage while Mario charged up enough to kill him with one power bounce
that's also how i beat bonetail and whacka all at 10hp, shell shield is busted lmao
Prince Mush is stronger than the Shadow Queen?
Modders, get on that! I want to see them fight!
I hope you flex your Pianta Parlor skills in every video now.
Idk if you’ve done it before but I’d love to see a tier list of enemy difficulty in the remake. If that’s too much then just one of all bosses
So i personally did it right after the chapter. I completed it and went back to max out my rank again after putting the star. And then after like 2 side quests it came out. Charge and power lift to max made it do able
Hell yeah was looking forward to this challenge
Hi Bring!
I agree. Grubba is a bad guy.
Hey I usually don't comment but just wanted to say I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and I love your content
I got a challenge idea, what's the minimum number of turns you need to lose/kill a full-sized audience? Can you reasonably do it in one encounter?
I’m surprised Raw Hawk even beat Prince Mush. Or maybe he didn’t which is why Mush was in stasis by Grubba. You said my brother in Christ. 😂
Speaking of the Mario wiki, I just updated it because of this video, lmao
Honestly I stacked yoshi with all the attack buffs like the star powet and charge, then parried one attack and mush went down before his second phase
1) As someone with bad timing, this toad terrifies me.
2) algorithm
11:30 WHY ARE YOU BULLYING YOUR OWN BROTHER?!
lol im literally working on a video similar to this myself, its good to know a couple things for sure though
12:16 lol I'm not anti-superguarding, I just can't do it. I can't even get regular guards consistently. I dunno what it is, my brain just can't find the timing for it, never has. So I'm glad this is possible without superguards.
Definitely working my way to fight Mush but as someone who is inconsistent with super guards, this fight finna be rough
You can just use boo sheets and charge till you one shot
I never did the Jolene quest and still got the prince mush email. I think the trigger is ending chapter 4 because that's when I also got it 😊
yesterday i fought mush for the first time and won after using showstopper first turn
I beat him pre chapter 5 and used a charge setup but for mario. The partner just appealed for topping up star power.
Heck yeah. New Bringle banger
By what i know you get the jolene email after doing her trouble and then waiting in rouge port for 30 minutes and than after that the mush email will come after another hour
how tf did I beat prince mush like it was a piece of cake
but the shadow queen had me getting 2 game overs and struggles
He said badge points not badge power ! 😭 He's turning to the dark side
"So how early are we going to be able to beat him"
I mean yeah, plotwise you kinda need to beat three chapters to even unlock him.
The new bosses are reaaaaaaaaaally easy if you are a veteran and played all PM games!
😮 I didn't know that you could fight him in this remake. I don't know if this was in the original game since I did the dirty trunks for Jolene but never fought him 😮😅😊
Yay more Bringle
Dope video! :)
THE BRINGLE HAS RETURNNNED
So bored in life, another day spent binge watching random youtube videos
WOOO new bringle video!!
