I picked up a white 2021 at4 after watching your videos and just wanted to add that the 1.5 inch spacers do not work with the 20 inch wheel option. Fronts rubbed bad enough that I had to take them off. Love your videos. Keep them coming.

I had a 14 Silverado and the offset between the seat and steering wheel was all times on my last nerve. I even took it to the dealer to make sure I wasn't the only screwed one.
I'm so happy with my 19 which everything is aligned perfectly. I agree with you. The seats are stiff. My 14 was more comfortable.

I had the same problem with Apple Wireless Carplay cutting out on my 2021 AT4 too. The dealer performed a software update on the radio and I have never had the problem since. This was an update the dealer had to do, it was not an over-the-air update to the radio. My update was done in March and I have not had a problem since.

I believe the color of the top mounted brake light was made to match the Red Quartz Tintcoat. That is the color of my AT4, and I didn't even realize the light was that large until I saw it on your white truck.
Good observation. I have it dark smoke tinted now with the cargo light cut out (not tinted) and love it
Three of my lifters on my 2021 6.2L Denali started clanking about 4900 miles. The dealer said they had a bad batch of lifters that got installed and replaced all of my lifters and rods. You'd think after all these years it would be fixed but GM just keeps on using the same design. Also not to mention its a gas guzzler! This one is going to new home as soon as I can get the 2023 3.0l Duramax

Great videos. Learned some things I didn’t know about my 2022 Denali (love it by the way). Of all the things in this video, I have a question about the console storage insert. Did you get the GMC one that is an insert or one that fits in the rails on the upper portion of the box? Also, your thoughts on the removal of the Ronin bullet antenna when/if it needs to be removed.
I bought a storage tray from Amazon that rests on the rails in the console. There is a link in video description. I didn’t plan on removing the Ronin antenna, but if I did, some heat to soften the loctite would be fine. Might not even need to heat it either

I love these trucks, looking at buying the diesel version as i work in the oilfield, just wanted to give you a heads up that when i was going to tint the tail lights of my sons car, the tinting place in my province told me that if i was in a accident were someone rear ended me that i would not be covered and it would be considered my fault because i had my tail lights tinted, just wanted to let you know what i found out. Again love the truck.

You make great videos! I agree with you on everything. This is my first GMC truck (the last 10 years in a truck for me have been spent in Fords).
Here’s my list of annoying things with this truck:
- all wheel options are not very nice
- fuel tank is way too small
- wireless charger is very slow charging
- power button for charging should be default on
- column shift (much prefer the console shifter from my Ford)
-console compartment is one giant box (should have come with an organizer)
- top passenger side glove box is ugly and useless. Keep it a flat dash with an AT4 logo would be way better.
- interior is functional and clean but not very aesthetically pleasing compared to competitors in its class.
- my radio has been changed out once already and needs to be for a second time (cuts out and sometimes camera doesn’t work)
- Bose stereo ( the Sony one in my 2015 Lariat was much better and it shouldn’t be)
- non adjustable pedals
That’s what I’ve observed over my 4 months of ownership on mine. Without a doubt its a nice truck and is certainly badass but there’s an extensive list of things that bother me. Keep up the content Don. It’s quality content.

I love the stock wheels.
Tank is way too small. I drove across Kansas this past weekend and the computer said I would go 448 miles. I would like to get at least 600 with the 6.2 and want the larger tank.
I like the column shift. I dislike the current trend of rotating wheels the new fords have.
I use the top glovebox for gloves. I keep a few pair there as well as napkins and a flashlight.
I like the interior. In fact, imho it’s leaps and bounds over the Ford which is why I went gmc over Ford.
I love you channel :-) I have a 2021 Yukon XL Denali and after 3000 mileage on my way down to the Keys I failed the engine due to the lifter problem, I had to fight with them for a brand new engine and they took y car for a month. It look like that mechanic that replaced my engine probably was pulling milk from the cow before due to all the mistakes and broken components I found when I open the hood. I give them a 3 month old brand new vehicle and they did not return in the same condition. Where is the GMC quality, where are the ASE trained mechanic ? a big huge thump down to GMC with this 6.2 liter, never again in my life GMC

I have a 2021 6.2 and had to have all lifters a push rod replaced at 6,000 miles. GM said if I had over 8,000 miles they would only replace half !
Really like all of your content. I'm waiting on my AT4 to arrive to the dealership now. I was wanting to know if any of your mods [intake, exhaust, electrical, etc.] void or affect the factory warranty on the truck. Thanks.
Thanks Sean! Vehicle modifications usually won’t void your warranty unless they are proven to be the contributing factor to a failure. Intake and exhaust shouldn’t be an issue since your O2 sensors are retained. Tuning however can be a mod with higher risks.
There was a service bulletin and download that should fox some of your radio and a few other things. Ask your local dealer should be free fix, like recall.

Hey man! I’m looking for these running boards but online says they only fit 22-23 but yours is a 21 like mine. I’m guessing it should fit. Didn’t think they changed anything besides the front end.
My at4 was doing the same thing it would connect to android auto play or car play. It would show that it is connected but no audio. So since it was annoying to deal with it while driving. I deleted the car play app in my phone and just connected to regular Bluetooth connectivity, and it work perfectly. Maeby try that instead of the old fashion way with the auxiliary cable.
I may do that. Come to think about it. I think mine was fine before the app install on my phone 🤔
How’s the exhaust when towing? Does it get annoying, too loud, or drone? Great channel!
I love it. No droning like my magnaflow did with the same size motor on my Denali
The pause/rewind/fast forward on the radio has its place but unless I’ve missed something, it doesn’t work as a true mute button (21 AT4 w/ 3 l diesel). Press the mute and it pauses and then you have to fast forward to get back to the program. Little thing but for me it’s annoying. The mirror features are great. Agree too on the look. It just looks like a truck should. Appreciate your videos.

You can roll the windows back up on the key, hold unlock
theres 2 keys for 2 drivers set your profile with your own key and that should fix the phone issue
I put ready lift leveling kit on my 2021 trail boss 6.2 looks good .But tires they recommend still rub !!!!

At 5 months my At4 started jerking when going from park to drive or reverse to drive, I love my truck but that’s the most annoying thing
What did you use to make the headlights darker? Just darker tint than the first time?
I had an update done at the dealership that seemed to fix my wireless CarPlay cutting out. 👍🏽

Was yours due to interference? When did you get the update? I had a software update back in june, but it didn't solve that problem
@@jameslusetti82 mine cuts out with no error messages. Typically the display still shows the track is playing in apple music or the podcast in spotify and the the audio stops. I can wait and it will usually return where I left off, but sometimes after a minute or so. I can sometimes close carplay and restart on the infotainment unit to remedy, but who wants to do that while driving in traffic.
My fav feature (found out after airing down and driving on the beach). Filling the tires back up the horn will automatically honk when it reaches 35PSI. That may be standard on GM these days but this is my newest vehicle in 14 years

I've got a 2019 denali.. love the 60 Inch light on the back.. I plug mine into the trailer plug, never has worked right. You mentioned a part you added.. can I get that link to get mine working? Thanks . I've also added the mod for the split tailgate if you have tow ball in it stops it from dropping on the tow ball... great mod!! 👍

I have almost the exact same truck and love mine as wheel. My question is: I’ve been “told” that 35 x 11.5 R20 tires will fit with the factory wheels and factory 2” level with no rubbing. What are your thoughts? I’d love to go with that size as opposed to a 295/60 R20. I want to wrap the factory wheels with the Nitto Recon Grapplers. Thanks!
Hi T L, I know many have done it but they claim a slight amount of rub at an incline or full lock. I am leaning towards the same tires! I am adding Bilstein 5100 shocks to the front that will give me an extra 1” lift too. Here is one guy with pics and 20” stock wheels

If you get a 2" inch level kit, make sure you get new ucas. I had a ball joint break on me at 7k miles due to ball joint stress after a level kit install.

Did your phone charger and your mood lights ( sorta). Now to find a way to make the automatic tailgate to close with my toneau cover ?? It senses obstruction and won’t latch(reopens).
It would need a pulley system of some sort with sensors. I wish I had that kind of time 😆
The lifter problem is a concern. Dealership told me problem is more prevalent in the 6.2 but issue still holds me back. I read that the hemi has lifter issues also.
All newer trucks have lots of problems Ford, GM, Ram just get what you like

I did know that when a route is programmed in, it showed some info, I just haven’t experienced it first hand!

My lifter failed at 2000 miles. Was excited to get the truck but now I’m worried that it will happen again and my truck will be in the shop for another 2 weeks.

What percent tint are you going to do on that third brake light? I wanna do mine to.....i have the red cayanne tintcoat color and that third brake light on the hood is terrible.....its like light Marron/dark pink color. Thank you.
I used VVIVID’s Light Smoke Dry Tint. There is a link in the video description for ya. The dark smoke is their other option. They don’t tell you a % with these two films.

My '19 has a condensation sizzle (drips on exhaust) after every drive. Its more annoying than anything. Have you noticed anything like this on yours?
Mine seems to condensate but just hits the ground making a small puddle.
2020 rst i have rubbing noise from underneath the bed when turning left. Checked leaf spring u bolts they were only at 30ftlbs took them to 60ftlbs still making the noise maybe the parking break isn't releasing all the way anyone else have this problem? And I have a churping coming from the motor but only does it every so often.

I have a at4 6.2 ordered and I am curious about the cooling for the seats? Do they work good? It may be petty but I live in florida and it is extremely hot.

Lifter anxiety is a thing for those motors. The lots are full of 6.2. Can't move them.

Have the black rubber elbow pieces on the outside at the base of your windshield A pillars faded? Mine have started to fade very badly at only 5k and the dealership tells me it’s an environmental issue so they won’t replace them. Makes me wonder what else on the truck cant handle the environment.
Just inspected mine. I would say they are stained with water spots right now. I could see them fading too down the road. My truck is just over 6 months old, so time will tell
@@Donslife sounds like you are having the same problem. Mine look like they have 200k on them not 6k. Unfortunately they are in a very visible area so I hope the dealership and chevrolet rethink their decision.

I have a 2018 Sierra 1500 All Terrain that was bought from Canada by the dealership I purchased it from. I bought it with 27k on it and at 35k the lifters failed and they had to replace the entire motor not replace the lifters. Took a week to do and it seems like the new one is starting to make the same noises as last time with only 16k on it right now and the oil pressure is dropping really low, I do not like the AFM system. I have it disabled with the odm module but those lifters with the 5w oil are just crap. Love the truck, the motor but not that option
I'm going to a performance shop let them put new after market cam lifters rods delete the afm and dod and a tune . Be done with gm !!!!!! It will run 100 % better and not a worry,

I have the same truck. Have you noticed any clunking noise that seems to come from under the bed? Usually at slow speeds over uneven surfaces. I had a 2017 GMC also and the same thing happened. Not at first but after about a year.
Not with this truck. My 2013 Sierra Denali did and I narrowed it down to the leaf springs

Make sure everything is tight. I found some heavy duty plastic and made a couple shims and hammered them in where the clamps are to cut down on any knocking. It mostly worked but they can fall out over time. They can be thin, your goal is to get the metal on metal clanking to stop
You get smoked recon taillights and 3rd brake light yet?
I actually had forgotten where to get it. I think at the time they didn’t have one with the camera and bed lights. I tinted mine darker now. Have a look 👀

One additional thing that goes in the ugh column. Let me know if anyone else has this. I'll be driving down the road and randomly, Google Assistant will chime in and start listening to what I'm doing and then provide a recommendation. I didn't touch the button, I didn't use the "hey google" phrase, or anything like that, it just will randomly chime in and start listening. This weekend on an 8 hour drive it happened 3 different times. I have an android phone.
I have never experienced that at all. I use an iphone though. Maybe an Android user has and will comment

Hows your transmission shifting, how many miles u got on it? Mine started giving me problems at 20k miles, fixed it kinda but starting to get a bit ruff shifting again. I wonder if its the same with the ten spd fords. I wonder if I should sell it to the dealer they give me 50 something thousand and i owe 37 thousand, should I?
I am only in the 5000 mile range. I can’t give you any advice on whether you should sell and switch. But used trucks are at a prime, so now is probably the a good time to.

Where did you get the paint protection done? Do they do that at tint shops?
The dealership did it, but yes tint shops and vinyl wrap places usually do it too.

@@Livin_Easy you can add a quicker aftermarket charger into the armrest. It grabs power from the rear facing outlets
I see the Max tow isn't available in the AT4. Can you get the trailer tpms on the AT4?
I am pretty sure you can. Mine is prewired for the auxiliary trailer cameras too for both inside the trailer and outside the back.

The air flow is minimal. I have to close front vents to increase flow to the back, but even then it is light

No you have to flick the switch manually to engage it or just leave it on all the time. It only works when the truck is turned on.
Why did GMC stop having the handles above the doors, they didn’t have them on the 2013s but did have them on the 2014s and up , but not on the 2020s.

Debating on the at4 6.2 or diesel what does the 6.2 get for fuel mileage? I know the 3.0 in line 6 gets 26-30 mpgs but can’t find a good video for the 6.2 mpg wise! Help
I think I get 14-17mpg depending on what I am doing with the truck. Small tank and I get get between 340-400 miles out of it (550-650km). You might be able to squeeze a little more savings out if it, but I like to accelerate to the speed limit. 🤷🏻♂️

I wish you would talk about the crappy wireless charger. It is so SLOW to charge. A fast charger plugged into the cigarette lighter is much faster.

Tough call. The look of an AT4 with minimal plastic chrome and a 10 speed transmission is a nice bonus.
I have a 2021 Sierra AT4 with 25,000 miles on it, and one of my lifters just broke on the highway while I was headed for Nashville. I was stranded for 6 days until the GMC dealership got the parts they need. I’m getting rid of it. I cannot be driving on the highway knowing another lifter could go out.

I do have to say the dealership, Southwest Chevrolet, Buick and GMC in Arkadelphia could not have been better. They explained exactly what was going on and replaced all 4 lifters on the side the one broke on. Kept me posted all the way. And it was under warranty.

at best - somewhere around 16-17mpg. I didn't get the 6.2L for fuel savings.

Mid $50’s into the mid $60k range. Mine was purchased in Canada, no mark up in Feb of 2021 and I had some GM offered cash discounts at the time. Also had some paint protection film included.

A heads up for anyone owning a GMC/Chev with the 5.7 or 6.2 engines from 2019-2023. Research proves GM is trying to protect themselves from the added costs of replacing a defective oil cooler line.The issue is at the engine block where the inlet and out cooler lines attach to a external adaptor to the engine block. When the outside temperature is cold and you start your engine, the engine oil heats up. At some point the high pressure line will have a catastrophic failure dumping your oil on the the pavement. If not shut down quick enough, your engine will lock up. GM not only has a national back order on the oil cooler line but also has a back order on the engines leaving you without a truck and possible payments. Proof is in the pudding! Research “Global Safety Field Investigations DCS5833. GM says the defect only on certain VIN trucks sold in Canada and Alaska. This is false! Research proves trucks in several states who have diverse cold temperatures are having cooler line failures. Look up GM N212326940 This should be a National Recall for every GM/Chev. truck sold! ATTENTION: If You have purchased these trucks, PURCHASE the Extended Warranty package that covers the engine/transmission. GM is getting away not paying on vehicles after 60,000 miles until the owners file enough complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and NHTSA. I was able to purchase the cooler line from the Chev dealer in Canada but after it was installed, they said the 6.2L engine was locked up would need to be replaced on my extended warranty
