Funny how the studio and media played up 'Jennifer', who was a fine looking woman, as the beauty, but all of us guys would take 'Bailey' hands down every time.
Bailey is the quintessential ideal woman to be with. She's smart, beautiful, practical and has a heart of gold. A humanitarian always striving to not only help others but also to inspire or motivate others to do the same. A very good woman. Ms. Jan Smithers did an excellent job in portraying this great character. Jennifer Marlowe (Loni Anderson) may be very beautiful and manipulating with men but the Bailey Quarters was far more dimensional.
I agree with you about Bailey, but I don’t think Jennifer was a bad person. She was just a different personality type from Bailey, but they were both very good at the respective jobs that they performed.

I can't say I "don't understand" why people went Ga-ga over Loni Anderson, but from Minute Number One, I was all about Jan. I do NOT understand why they played her up as a "plain Jane." She was at least half the reason I watched the show.
I knew a family with a “Bailey Quarters” type of daughter. Asked me if she could ride with me to and back from school in college. Took 45 minutes each way. She was blond with a figure of 36-24-35(she told me so). She was cute and wholesome and tried to dress modestly…but hard to cover up her ample assets. 90 minutes each day right next to me…in my 1958MGA sports car. What a beautiful and godly young lady. About half the time she met some guy that would drive her home. Next morning I would hear about how much she loved the guy. “I just love him Chad.” Also , she was NOT a dumb blond! The college we attended …..U.C.Berkeley.! Iwas dating her sister..one year older. She was beautiful also.
