Baby, If You’ve Ever Wondered, No Laugh-Track
They did a similar thing on a radio station in San Francisco where the DJ, who happened to be the late Jim Lange, who I happened to befriend in the early 1980’s, under the supervision of the California Highway Patrol, would be given a drink every 15-30 minutes to check his response time over a 3 hour period. I helped him into his car that his wife was driving, he was that drunk. I never before or since experienced anyone that drunk in my life. It was a lesson to be learned: if you drink, don’t drive, which was why CHP was involved.
I loved his show, "Frank's Place" set in New Orleans and was sad to see it only get one season. He was also great at "Downtown Brown" in Simon and Simon.
I think this is where I learned what the word reprobate meant. Lol.
Very well put together compilation.👏
Good actor, great lines, well produced show. Everybody loves Bailey, Jan Smithers was perfect.
Someone had a crush on Gary Sandy
I think the song is about Andy Travis working different radio stations until he ends up at WKRP. In one episode Venus asks Andy if he had any real friends at the previous stations he managed.
Anyone here in 2025?
Classic in every way!😊
A nearly 50-year-old sitcom, which I watched religiously when it first came on, and watching this episode now STILL had me almost falling off my chair laughing. That's great TV, my children. And fellow babies.
And the highway patrolman went on to become Fox Mulders first inside contact/handler on the X Files. Kinda neat watching these older productions and seeing actors before they hit bigger later in their careers. Richard Kiel had at least 2 roles on Kolchak The Night Stalker before Pale Rider and Jaws in the Bond films. Back when TV was watch able. WKRP is in a class of it's own. 👍
I like that actor, I think he was the Commissioner on Barney Miller too.
Venus = good work ethic: Johnny: "when we heard the sirens, we split". Venus: "He split, I stayed on the job"
This and the F-5 are some of the sexiest aircraft ever to fly. I was hiking along a bluff over looking Hetch Hetchy reservoir in Yosemite park one fall day with my girlfriend. The water was way low because they were getting ready for the snow melt in the spring. I started to hear a loud jet engine and was looking all over in the sky to see what it was. I caught a flash of sunlight reflected off the craft and realized it was way down low, only a couple of hundred feet above the water. The pilot was flying east to west through the valley that the reservoir had filled. When this plane went by us, it was about eye level and LOUD. It continued down the reservoir and over the dam and then almost straight up to regain altitude. My girl and I were stunned at what we just saw. I will never forget that moment. I of course had to research the origins of this spectacular craft and now have a beautiful die cast model of this exact ship sitting on one of the speakers in my rec room. There are many newer, faster, more advanced jets out there, but this one will always be my favorite. Great sound track by the way. REAL music. Thanks for the video.
Those are trainers, so the guy in front shot the video while the guy in back flew the plane. You could see the old ‘steam gauges’ still used by these jets built in the 60’s. The video was an afternoon training flight over the north end of the Sacramento Valley with a handheld Sony digital-8 camera. I can’t remember his name but he didn’t disappoint. The music was from the Allman Brothers - Eat A Peach album that I had on my desk that day. Glad you liked it.
@@DaveNarn First off, I'm very familiar with Eat a Peach. It was one of the first vinyls I purchased when I was a freshman in high school in 71. My research turned up that the T-38's from Beale are used primarily as a way for U-2 pilots to keep up their flying "chops" because they don't fly the U-2's very often. Of course NASA used to use them as chase planes back in the day. Don't know if that is still true. Thanks for the reply and again for the video. I will go back from time to time to view it.
this nine minute clip from so long ago is better than anything be produced today
Bailey is the total package.
I loved the episide where herb keeps hitting on jennifer and she complains to Fever. He tells herb that Jennifer was the worlds most successful sex change lol.
Gordon Jump was the first Maytag repairman.
An excellent compilation including the Morrisons jingle.
He's just like a lot of past players he's so full of him self
0:13 Sweet Jesus...Bailey, oh Bailey.....
More evidence that Retconning is fucking dog shit. He was ALWAYS Venus Flytrap! And there was zero reason for a boring white guy to come up with his name FOR him! Not to mention in a first season episode They make it clear Randy does NOT know Venus's real name until he tells him.
Awwwww. I wanted the Ferryman Funeral Home commercial.
I had forgotten that this was MTM. Mary Tyler Moore did a lot for television in the 70s and 80s, beyond her scting
What is this show called? Is it available to watch anywhere? I've always watched American sitcoms, but I don't think we ever got this one in the UK.
That’s a good question, thanks for asking. Wikipedia says ‘WKRP in Cincinnati is an American sitcom television series about the misadventures of the staff of a struggling fictional AM radio station in Cincinnati, Ohio.’ IMDB says,’When a Cincinnati radio station switches from sedate music to top-40 rock 'n' roll, its staff of oddball characters has to switch gears quickly.’ Streaming on Apple TV and Roku.
@@DaveNarn Thanks. I've got to watch this now.
@johnnyshinnichi1785 This show was popular especially with radio DJs who would send in the rock posters and signs that you see in each episode.
Venus and Fever. They built the ratings
Rotfl😂
I remeber this when it aired....lol
Hey Johnny, turn pro forget the Olympics😂
O e of my high school teachers told me id end up like dr johnny fever. I took it as a compliment then. And now.
This reminds me of an episode of Malcolm In The Middle where Lois tells someone who's been drinking to recite the alphabet backwards...and she does do really quickly and then explains that she's been pulled over for DUI in the past. I'm also guessing that both of these are the reason for the invention of both the alco-sensor and the breathalyzer.
I remember this. Such a funny well written show.
It was a great show
I have to start watching this again.
The scene wearing Johnny's shirt is the best she did.
Makes me long for NINTEEN 70🕺..... WKRP you were a CLASSIC 🤟
Ah, Loni Anderson. I know lots of people like Bailey, and I totally understand. But Loni was my first celebrity crush.
Mama is Sylvia Sidney, who was in the original "A Star is Born", and was the counselor in "Beetlejuice". Great actress.
The booze 🥃 test on J. Fever is still a classic🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing this with us. Love WKRP!
RIP Big Guy RIP Fever RIP Herb
Another Purely Natural beautiful Woman, God made, that's it
Ahhh! 🤣
The PHONE COPS !!
This has the original music. Can't believe it even exists.
Shout Factory DVD. They managed to get most of the music back.
As entertaining as this video is I thought it would focus primarily on the relationship between Andy and Mr. Carlson.
Venus teaching the thug he could learn atomic science was very good too.
5:50, the insipid introduction of woke
momma was also juno, the case worker in 'beetlejuice.' she was a cutie back in the day.
He’s a loathsome and offensive brute. Yet, I can’t look away.
How I miss those days.
0:21 - Jennifer is reading the WSJ upside down.
Hessman was a real crack up! I should rent, maybe buy, WKRP in Cincinati.
