Hessman really should of won an Emmy for every seasons that the show ran, can’t imagine anyone else playing Dr. Johnny Fever. He just had that it factor for playing the character. God rest your soul Howard Hessman, let an eagle fly you away to heaven… 🦅
Best show ever being that I was in the radio station business back in the day. His character was as real as it gets and then some. There's no one better that could have played that part better. He will be missed big time.
Those were the days. Mr. Hessman was a treasure that is missed. I was only 3 when WKRP began. I quite quickly became a fan and have bought the whole series so I can slip on back to the late 70's and early 80's for some great WKRP memories. RIP Dr. Johnny
This show was amazing and I loved all the characters but I got to admit that Johnny fever and Venus flytrap were the two that made this show go from good to amazing.
I liked the episode where tour groups that came into the city of Cincinnati somehow got mixed up and a bunch of Japanese business men came to WKRP by mistake. Big guy (Mr. Carlson) realized the mistake but took them anyway on a tour of the radio station. He came into the DJ booth and introduced the Japanese contingent to Dr. Johnny Fever. The group spoke no English and when Mr. Carlson said the word fever they all whipped face mask’s on. Dr. Fever asked Mr. Carlson how they were going to get them out of the booth and Mr. Carlson said he was stationed in the Pacific in WWII and knew a little Japanese and shouted a phrase at them and they all put their hands up like surrendering.
Remembering Howard Hesseman born on February 27, 1940. He was an American actor known for his television roles as burned-out disc jockey Dr. Johnny Fever on WKRP in Cincinnati. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Hessman
So miss the days when there were actually DJs you could call in and talk to (70s) Now it's all computerized. I know. I worked at a radio station. No one live there except in the AM talk shows.
Is this the Sex Pistols! Guys trying upstage Dr. Johnny Fever? Howard Hessman was fabulous as Dr.Johnny Fever. Tim Reid was also loved as Venus Flytrap! He also did a show called Frank's Place in 1985. I remember watching his debut episode. All these years have gone by. But we always had a TV. I grew up watching TV and loving these characters and the actors were pretty good guys too!✝️
I always thought that the hotel trashing was kind of a tribute to the Eagles. And I remember how they covered the stampede in the auditorium for the who concert. It was a great show it was well written it was well acted and they did from time to time deal with a very important social issues of the day.

RIP Howard "Johnny Fever" Hesseman ( 1940-2022 ). He would have turned 82 on 27 February.
As an only child born in '70, pokin' around for what cool is, this show helped me a lot. It holds up like hell!
So many Great highlights! Fever played the part so well! RIP Howard Hesseman
I love that PSA where the drunker Johnny gets the faster his reaction times.

Hello fellow babies!
My hero. Go johnny fever
0:45 Since this aired I have been using this line, spoken just like that, for all manner of situations.
When they came in wearing suits and said "Were the Scum of the Earth", I thought WKRP was getting a visit from the FCC.
Great show great people with real problems but I was always in love with Bailey but funny as hell and great humor and lots of laughs
It's really to bad that we can't have good shows like this in today's world, cause nothing now even comes close...\m/...
9:30 - You can tell it's one of those music replacements when it's in stereo.
Van Morrison, "Caravan". It's got soul...RADIO!
4:52 That's the song from the beginning of _The Shawshank Redemption._ 😅

the Hoyt Axton Episode was great
Man I wish WKRP was available with the original music. Does anyone know what Johnny said when they dropped the audio out?
He was singing Caravan by Van Morrison
I think it was "jive-ass"!
A VM song I recognized was Into The Mystic from Moondance. A masterpiece album, 1970 was a fine year for music.
My favourite show on telly from back in the day…………❤😊
Is Bailey wearing a Freddie Mercury shirt at 12:09 ?

Booger!
Get actor
I just noticed that Carlson's son was I believe Malachi from children of the corn
According to IMDB, Sparky Marcus played Arthur Carlson's son on WKRP and Courtney Gains played Malachai on Children of the Corn.
