Hey my fellow truckers I need some advice I just got a great opportunity from knight transportation driving from Phoenix to lb Cali and back but I have a wife with health issues so I need to be home almost every night what do you think
Knight is a pretty good company.

Drive really fast.
My advice is don’t jump on anything just because it seems like a good deal. There is always another deal waiting around the corner and it may or may not be better.
In other words, you may have to wait but what you need will become available. That also doesn’t mean you can’t make a change in the meantime if it’s a real improvement. Only you can decide.

As a shunt driver without a license to drive on public roads, I am baffled by how many drivers pull into my yard, and cannot back up a trailer on to a door. Never mind into a space in a wide open yard. I know driving in a straight line on a highway is easier than backing, but how do you get your license without knowning how to do that ?
As a C.R. England driver, im suprised I don't see more of us on here, we got some people that should never be behind the wheel of these trucks

I has a CR England rip the bumper and part of the hood of my truck while I was in the dock. And to make matters worse CR England's insurance department would never return my call or answer the phone. What would you expect from a company rand by unprofessional buttholes. I hope they treat you better than the folks who's trucks they crash into.

Unless I'm at a customer or it is cold, the sandals stay on. Doesn't affect my ability to drive and if I need steel-toes in the cab or at the fuel island, odds are things are going so bad it won't even matter.

@@snapmalloy5556 exactly, I understand closed toe shoes at a shipper/receiver, tarping flatbed or being in a hazardous environment, but sandals or flip flops while driving or at a Truck stop seems acceptable.
I think the whole steel toe boots 24/7 theory in trucking is just to make lazy truck drivers feel like they are working hard. I mean come on steel toe boots while driving makes about as much sense as wearing a hard hat while driving. Yes you'll be more protected if in an accident but neither is going to make that much of a difference.

That German Shepherd hates Swift Rookie Transportation drivers also. As a retired driver of over 4 decades I also have a German Shepherd and he doesn't care for Swift Transportation either.
I saw a lot off interstate stuck Semis on I-65 north of Indy in past. 2 thing about Icey Roads. In Slow driving the traction control light comes on foot off accelerator switch on. Faster speeds control on ice Interstate worked well for me is trailer brake application to slow & stay strate no jackknifeing involved.
In this corner of the fuel island... Western Express. And in the opposite corner... Swifty Swift.

I feel sorry for my good friend Levi. He bought a 97 Kenworth a few years back while driving for his father he pumped so much cash into the old Girl and I got the pleasure to paint her up for the kid. He just got the thing on the road in March. He took a trip to Phoenix last week just came home he was so proud of the bright shiny truck and it's chrome everything. Well late Sunday evening I went to take my trash out and I see the truck sitting aside of my barn nose in. My house is built like a bunker built in 1759 with 8x8 and 10x10 beams and some solid old stone and logs so I did not hear the truck come in. He told me to call Bone Head truckers after I look at the truck... He said was at the local pilot truck stop all he did he said is first he always orders their Chili he said it's fantastic and home made and while it cools off in the truck he usually showers so he don't wake the kids up at home during those late hours he walked out to his truck to discover a SWIFTY wiped the nose and bumper out.. The Swift driver wore Levi's chili home for his troubles. I just called the kid and told him I need a wheel barrow full of money and I have to deal with his insurance company as well to get him some cash back. If any of you guys have LIBERTY MUTAL COMMECIAL POLICY CANCEL THEY WERE REALLY RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS TO ME. MIGHT HAVE JUST BEEN THE DUDE I WAS DEALING WITH BUT I TOLD HIM DON'T SHOW UP HERE IF YA WANNA KEEP YOUR FRONT TEETH IN YOUR MOUTH.
What a shame, Swift has pretty much all new equipment and their drivers just tear that shit up, I guess Swift must be self insured, cause I can’t believe there’s a insurance company out there that would be willing to cover that risk
