RIP DUSTY. WE LOVE YOU!!! 💜❤️💜💜💜❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ashes to ashes, Dusty to Dusty
For ever.

LEGENDS!
Sinners don't have rest or peace when they die and lift up their eyes in Hellfire being in torment for ever. "Hell yeah" dusty said and remembers it there in agony and regret constantly but it's too late. Repent, don't follow them there.
You can't trust anyone who doesn't like ZZ Top.
I dont have to trust. I don't speak to them.
Ive never heard of anyone who doesn't like ZZ
Yeah, becasue let's all just like exactly the same stuff. That would be the most boring ass world to live in.
And for the people who tapped a Thumb Down for this: Go find your soul; I think you left it somewhere.
Nope. You don't need that type of static in our life.
RIP dusty hill can’t believe it the man that inspired me to pick up bass is gone but you will
Never be forgotten
So he's 69 or 70 during this show.
Cliff Williams Inspired me, Dusty is good to
only regret was he didn't sing as much during their reincarnation
@@WayneCarrigan He was 69 in 2019
That drum beat shuffle Frank does is insanely difficult. He is stupidly underrated and deserves to be rated among the best drummers ever. Same with Phil Rudd
100% so underrated
What is his rating, and what should it be?
The other thing is his drum setup is simple. Other drummers have some overly elaborate setups.
Indeedy!
Great drummer
Father: Turn this off.
Me: why, dad ?
Father: we've got bigger speakers downstairs.
Ha ha!!! Love it! That's something.y dad would've said, too!!!!!
bro that's exactly how it went
I like your ATTITUDE! 🎶🎼
Said no dad ever, turn zz top off we would listen on a single earphone 🤘
😂😂😂😂
My dad used to say, “ZZ Top, three guys that sound like ten”.
LLG 3PE i like two things, your dad was spot on AND you listened.
Same can be said about Rush
yeah
LLG 3PE yes same as rush
LLG 3PE your dad was spot on. One of the best descriptions for them.
I just found out about Dusty Hill has passed away.😔😔🥺R.I.P. legend
RIP
очень грустно
I still have my ZZ keychain from 1983 "Eliminator" era. You remember, like the one video where they handed the boy the key the keys in "Sharp Dressed Man"? I've used it for every car I've had since 1983. My first car was a 2 door 1974 Chevy Impala. And I'm using it now with my 2007 PT Cruiser, Touring Edition. 😎
This is Unfair. Fly high 😭😭😭🕊🕊🕊
light ONE UP 🔝
Dusty had already told the boys to continue the Band without him. He even picked his replacement. At least that's what I heard on local radio this morning. Keep on truckin boys !!!
Rumor has it that Leland Sklar is going to play with them.
Their long time roadie Elwood Francis is taking over on bass. I guess he'd better start working on the beard.
Yep your right. He Told them to put his bass tech for over 20 years Elwood to play bass for em, and they obliged as did Elwood,. I saw the first show with him 2 nights after Dusty passed on... Good choice. R.I.P Dusty, Legend ,and 🐐 !😎🔥⚡⚡😎
It’s actually their guitar tech that’s been with them 20-30 years. He’s stepped in before when needed. I think that’s the only way it still felt ok. 🤘🏼
JMor954 ZZ TOP had the same guitar tech for many years, though he worked with a number of the big super groups. His name is Elwood Francis and is now playing the bass for ZZ TOP
As long as zztopp can play LaGrange we exist as a society.
Dicey, dicey.
And pelosi doesn't get this HA HA HA !!!😂😂😂😂😂
Love it!
What freedom brings ys
Love You :)
Am I the only one who thinks that Billy’s voice has gotten better with age?
Like a well-aged whiskey.
Yeah, more interesting to listen to for sure, but lacks umph. I think he's played it perfectly over time, adapted really well
No your not alone. The band in a whole gets better
Just like Cheddar
Yeah, you are the only in all the world
I hope Howard’s sound person gets paid well. They do a damn good job.
Is it Fred????
I was thinking the same thing
Howard by far has the best sound engineering for all musical acts he had over the years. It doesn't matter if it acoustic set or full band, sound is always incredible.
Way better than Grammys
Yes, but the guitar is too loud here.
They hit the mark every fuckin time!
Howard - “I just shot a load”
Robin - “where is it?”
LMAO
One of the best guitar tones in rock history. Unreal.
There is a reason why when Jimi Hendrix was once asked how it felt to be the best guitar player in the world, he said, " I don't know, go ask Billy Gibbons!" The master the GOAT.
Proves it’s all in hands. Not in gear. Rev could make a squier sound great.
@@themotocrossmodchannelWulfMX And Gibbons (and Clapton as well) said Stevie Ray Vaughan. You never say yourself, unless you're Eddie Van Halen lol... which was a serious dick move.
exactly
Yes,yes, and fuck yea!!!!!!!! Sorry, I'm excited lol.
If fine whiskey had a voice, it would have Billy Gibbons'
Cock A Doodle Doo - like that makes any sense at all.
You better listen to Tom Waits then.
Wonder what a duet with Billy Gibbons and George Jones would have sounded like. Talk about lightning in ( and out of ) a bottle.
Go change your panties kid.
Lemmy
RIP Dusty Hill. Now Eddie has the best to play beside him...
Both featured in Back to the Future you mean?
i saw zz top in new zealand 1987 best ever rip man they were so loud they were banned lol🔥👆🏻zz top for life
he already had john entwistle and the guy from yes..lol
I went to see ZZ Top back in the day @ the la forum, & sitting a few seats over from me were
David Lee Roth , Eddie Van Halen, & Valerie Bertinelli...Eddie & Valerie were wearing matching Jumpsuits...
they were big fans of the ZZ....
Eddie would say “Right on time”.....you ready? A one, two, three, four.
RIP Dusty Hill
Swear to god Billy Gibbons with that “Haw Haw Haw” has got to be one of the most iconic lyrics in blue/rock. You hear “Haw Haw Haw” you know some serious stuff about to go down lmao 😂.
DoubleDJ, I know that shit be right. Haw haw haw haw.
John Lee Hooker agrees
Channelling John Lee Hooker. LOVE it
It's a John Lee Hooker rip off... It's basically a John Lee Hooker song. ruclips.net/video/nUUyFrHERpU/видео.html
I'm pretty sure he got that from John Lee Hooker, but I could be wrong.
No matter how hard you try in life, you will never be as cool as these old farts.
Jimmy Page says hello
R.I.P. "Compadre" Dusty Hill, thanks for the music.
Pure mastery from 3 Texans. God blessed ZZTop. Thank you for some of the best music on the planet. Rest peacefully Dusty...
AGREE 1000%
I have never understood how 3 guys can create such a full sound. 5/6 group bands sometimes sound "thin" compared to ZZ. FANTASTIC
thats how i feel about rush and king's x as well
The more polyphonic instruments you add like extra guitars and keys, the more the frequency range can get crowded and instruments have to compete with each other. A power trio can have more clarity as each instrument has their own space.
It´s the power and the groove of a solid thumping rithmic section.
It depends on the genre...
same puzzle for me
Who else loves a solo backed by just the bass and drums
The magic of a Rock Trio....all that space to play around in.
Kevin Sturges exactly why jimi was so powerful
Dusty, us fans are doing the ZZ wave. Gonna miss you buddy. RIP
I love it when Billy always mentions “We” That’s a true band member
These three guys can do more with two guitars and a drumset than 90% of the bands today.
ffdtower1 O hell yes
👍🇺🇸
You can thank pro tools for that!!
One is a Bass just so you know.
"two guitars" no doesnt even recognize the bass as an instrument and complains about other musicians
3 of the coolest dudes walking this planet
My dad's boss lived next door to one of the guys in ZZ Top
He is rocking in heaven now. R.I.P Dusty
RIP Mr Hill. You’ll be forever missed.
The only band i know that still have their 3 ORIGINAL members since freaking 1969, 51 years guys !
Don't fix what's not broken
Tres Hombres
Aerosmith...
RIP Dusty
Rolling stones….
It's a testament to how tight a band is when your drummer is behind plexiglas, has his eyes closed, but still knows what changes you'll make based on what he hears and feels. Bless the L'il Ol' Band from Texas.
thats how its done!
Yep, when you have been together as long as they have you just "know" when to make those changes and can go with the flow, its when all are bonded into one so to speak.
Yeah it's like he has ears right...
Well...he's using in-ear monitors, and he's been playing "La Grange" since 1979. No voodoo magic behind it. The plexiglass is irrelevant.
Or... you know... that thing called practicing a set or in this case a song.
RIP Dusty Hill!
RIP legend!!
I keep coming back to this. It's incredible that three good o'l boys can create such a monster sound.
These guys are the shit. Such a simple riff, yet, one of the best ever made.
It doesn't need to be that complicated to be authentic. You can make a song with two chords and a pentatonic.
Jesus Christ how do they sound just as good as in 1970?
so are you asking Jesus this question? i would do that in prayer.
They… kept playing
Dusty Hill is the coolest guy ever!
He passed away yesterday 😞
Damn, you commented this a week before his passing. Fly high brother 🕊
Was. Sad loss for sure man
Sad loss! Bass is without his strings right now. Rock in peace Dusty!
@7:49 “You boys are some fucking musicians”
The drumming is unbelievable.
Watch them in live performances. Frank almost always seems to close his eyes, turn his head left and play the hell out of those drums.
Frank Beard and Stan Lynch never got spreads in Modern Drummer, but they're titans in my estimation.
I had access to a drum kit for a couple years, via a roomate, and While I play stringed instruments, this was the only song I could riff to on drums as my roomate also played other instruments. Maybe not the “fills,” but the basic part is... basic :-)
Ever since I was a kid… all I picture is a Harley when the drums start… you know, that sound of the cams
That fill at the start is godlike
If you're here in 2021 you're a legend
The force of 3 is epic.
Who aint got a speeding ticket to this jam -omg love it -
I once heard the line "Billy plays notes as if they're expensive" and it is so true, he is so economical with the fretboard
That's probably the reason why his guitar has only three strings...
The spaces between the notes are as important as the notes.
I honestly think La Grange is the greatest guitar solo ever. It's so easily memorable and identifiable you can hum along to it and know exactly what notes are coming next even if you haven't heard it in a long time. And it's not a simple solo either
@@fr-tigerfangs7039 Nah it just looks that way bc the top three aren't wound like the bottom three
That's the magic of Billy's style, so economical with notes, and not working hard, just IN THE BOX! I love how the band always arranges songs to be different live and catch you at the ending.
Exact same line-up since 1969. Damn!
LOL I was 4 years old! DAMN!
The greatest Power Trio ever on the greatest show ever. Stern and ZZ TOP forever!
I definitely agree!
just behind Rush
This was one of the greatest f%%%ing things I’ve ever seen in my life - RIP King Dusty x
The Metronome manufacturers call Frank Beard when they need a timing adjustment.
Is it just me or does his drum fill in the beginning sound off? Think he pushed the tempo on the fill and threw the other guys off
Spot on. I like how in the new documentary Billy describes him as “diligent.” Got to love the Rev, and yes, not the flashiest drummer, but always on point and in sync with Billy and Dusty.
Amen!
Frank Beard and Phill Rudd are the two drummers who are always on time, no matter what.
Yes but with Dusty it is Perfection. They form A tight Box.
These guys are a national treasure.
They are definitely TEXAS treasures!!!
Rip 🙏 dusty thanks for the beautiful music
Wow. Never see this again. Rip Dusty
My old man gave me eliminator as my first cassette as a kid, still love hearing ZZ Top! RIP Dad
My dad gave me the same album on vinyl. I would play it on my Disney record player. Lol. Had Eliminator and Fandango along with Ted Nugent-Scream Dream and Deep Purple-Vavoom
I got Afterburner on cassette for my birthday with my first Walkman 12 years old fucking Awesome!!!
I used to listen to Eliminator on cassette with my Dad on drives together when I was a kid. Good memories!
I own it on vinyl. Saw the tour at Phoenix Memorial Coliseum on spur of the moment. Great show, but not as good as seeing them at Cobo Hall, Detroit when I was still in high school.
I used to steal the cassette out of my sister's collection until she noticed it missing this went on for sometime lol
"What do you want to do when you grow up?"
"That."
rip sir
Simply the Kings 🤴 of tone
Frank Beard is such an underrated drummer: he really know how to *sit* on that groove
He’s a lot like Phil Rudd AC/DC let there be Rock song. Just keeps pounding the skins the same intensity throughout the song.
He and dusty always land perfectly on the 1 and it just makes everything work
Finlay Balfour suuuuper tight.....was honestly waiting for a blip
Frank certainly does, and Dusty sits right there with him and lets Billy do his thing. Very tight.
Oh ya... he's spot on.
Folks this was 40 years after this song came out. Amazing
I mean, honestly. They got the boogie woogie. It's in 'em and it's GOT TO COME OUT!
RIP Dusty.
This isn't boogie woogie..
@@thornels fr lamoaoaoaoaoaaoao
@@thornels According to the Fandango album it was said to "let those boys boogie woogie".
a masterclass in having a soft touch and a huge tone.
Seriously. It really looks like he barely moves his fingers and is just gently picking. But that SOUND. Destroys.
And so effortless looking!!!
The guy that did the mixing on this is my hero
My dad took me to see them when I was 6 😂😂 hell of a childhood
yea, My dad was all over the place. He took me to see Ole Blue Eyes, these guys and the Allman Bros!
I envy you
Why the dumb hysterical laughing face? Smh. Are you a teen girl sir?
i went by myself 15yrs old. the la grange tour rt up front oh yea
Emojis are for teen girls...are you a teen girl sir? Do you also use words like “hater” etc...? Smfh
R.I.P Dusty a legend 🤘
Absolutely!
R.I.P Dusty :(
Producer: No one can make a song purely off of the name of a town.
ZZ Top: Hold my beer
It was more about the famous Chicken Ranch whorehouse there than the actual town
Well, there was another song made about a town not far away from La Grange by another band.........ever hear of China Grove?
lodi
Great kolaches at the Czech bakery there. Worth a stop.
@@mbrant4973 Partied there too, got stranded and had to walk lol
Frank Beard may not be super flashy but he has to be one of the best time keepers ever.
Their albums from the '70's are a showcase of Beard's drumming talent. He was one of the greatest drummers of all-time.
Absolutely
hmm nice, time keeper is a epic word to describe a drummer
I met Frank in Las Vegas. You would never know he is the drummer for the Top. Quiet, short, and very self-effacing. Such a cool dude. He stopped and spoke to me like we were friends from way back.
like phill rudd(now and then) of AC/DC
So sad to think about these 3 guys never playing this song together again, RIP Dusty. So glad I got to see them before he passed.
Thank you ZZ Top.
They had to set up a second mic just so Dusty could say 'Hell Yeah!"
Dave Cooke and to that my friend deserves it’s own hell yeah
I could be wrong but I think they did several songs and he sings some of them.
I don't know if dusty said hell yeah because i don't know what his voice sounds like
Heck the entire crowd said it!
@@TheSRC88 Yes He does and some of them are hits
Billy is so damm chill that he is cool 😎

Now that's a blues jam, Probably the best audio live I've heard from them.
Honestly, does anyone on the planet have a better job than Howard Stern? He gets to hang out and laugh with his best friend day long, and they have the greatest musicians on the planet come play personal concerts for them at the office. That's not even work, that's the life.
The drummer is behind plexiglass for your safety.
That's funny shit!
Never want to get to close to a drummer in heat. Safety is a must.
😂
Ha, it’s a soundproof anti-acoustic environment. It helps reverberations bouncing off from the room and also allows isolation for the drummer’s purposes
Coincidentally Frank Beard is the only one without a Beard.
Sounds like a 5 man band.
ZZTop have always been an amazing live.
Man all of them just absolutely tore this song up, wish I could have seen them live. RIP Dusty
That groove dug a hole in my floor.
Billy casually said, "Lightning in the bottle is rare!" So deep!!!
The way they stroke those strings so effortlessly yet produce such a remarkable sound is sure something.

That "little ole band from Texas", is one of the GREATEST rock-n-roll bands ever! Keep up the good work, Billy, Dusty, and Frank! ZZ TOP!!
49 years without a lineup change, only U2 (40 years) comes close to a streak like that...
rush?
Simple Chronology, and add Rush to the list of 40+ years.
The four guys in Golden Earring has also played together since 1970. They did have some line-up changes the first years of their career (which started in 1961!) and some additional members along the way. But the four members that play together as Golden Earring today has been with the band since 1970. As a band with all original members still in the band, and never had any aditional members, ZZ Top are in their own league though.
