Miss being a Sound Engineer from those day's it was a Memorable Experience Tour Bus Runs and Early Rise for Set-Up and Sound Checks and late to Bed with a Good Joint and the Echo of the Tour Bus Engine purring me to sleep !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can still close my Eye's and Hear It, and Feel It, I can still remember Cruisin Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Strip going up and down the Blvd. when I wasn't on Tour, I had the Top Down Jammin And Cruisin nothing else like it, The Good Ole Day's WHEN MUSIC WAS A WAY OF LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think the best of all was being able to go on Tour Overseas and out of the USA, seeing other cultures of Life and There People so a Blessing to be able to reminisce on all of it is just knowing what I did I made a lot of People Happy !! and got to know them and can still call them My Friend's I still to this Day call some of them and write them God Bless all of Them and to many I can't R.I.P.

About 5 years ago I went with a coworker to Carb Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and ZZ Top was the featured band. It was out on a grass lawn in the warm sunshine and we had a blast! I was supposed to see them years before in Minneapolis but got deployed out of country when I was in the military. So I finally got to see them and wow, those guys are over 60 and sounding awesome! My friend and I were blown away and it was a lot of fun. Got to meet some long time fans like ourselves, share some beers and enjoy this great band!
I've seen ZZ Top twice and I've been working and playing Drums and Guitar for a few decades and that is the thing about ZZ. They, for a Three Musician Band have attained from the start an incredible high intensity Shuffle-Slide with a killer Bassist that is, to me, a one of a kind Sound and Tone that is easy to listen to... for many decades now. Especially when I caught them Live. In Vancouver I saw ZZ live on the "Afterburner" tour. My ears rang for a couple of days.
My first concert experience was in 1976, I was 15 years old. The Marshal Tucker Band opened for Dickie Betts followed by ZZ Top at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. Wish I could remember more of the show, it was quite smoky in there. I rode on the back of a 350 Honda from New Castle DE and back. Still can't believe my parents signed off on this, glad I was the first born he he he.

To share: saw the Little Band from Texas in New Orleans in 1973. Couldn't hardly believe the music they pumped out that night. When l came to the next day went straight out and bought the LP, still have it!
