    It brought tears hearing Keith hit that first note on that acoustic guitar. Even considering his age, he hit each note like they just finished recording them that morning.
    Also Jimmy was at his best imitating Mick. Excellent interview.

    • @JohnnyFriendly
      @JohnnyFriendly 4 месяца назад +2

      That is totally untrue. In the beginning it was Brian Jones who was the leader. He formed the band, hustled hard for gigs, drove the band's musical direction with his blues obsessions (he had far deeper knowledge than any of the others). Once success came, a feud rapidly developed between him and Mick for leadership which he eventually lost. The catalyst was the Redlands drug bust in 1967 which cemented Mick & Keith's supremacy and it has been this way ever since. But its incorrect to say that Keith was always the leader - joint eventually but never the sole leader

      Hi..!!
      IMHO, it's not only about just some very good songs, riffs and lyrics...
      Don't forget that big and essential link missing between the Chicago Blues of the 40s and 50s... and modern charts: the original British blues explosion of the early 60s. Rolling Stones, Kinks, Alexis Corner's Blues Inc, John Mayal Blues Breakers, Yardbirds, Pretty Things, Who, Animals, Them, Zombies, Small Faces, Spencer Davis Group, Downliners Section, Artwoods, Long John Baldry, Graham Bond Org, Cyril Davies, Georgie Fame & The Blue Flames, Chris Farlowe Thunderbirds, Zoot Money Big Band, Manfred Man, etc...
      It wasn't untill the British bands went to America to show them what their own roots were about, that the global craze begun. And that movement was precisely led by no other than the Rolling Stones.

      It’s interesting to see his right hand technique in this video. I think I’d have to unlearn a lot of what I think of as “correct” movement to play these riffs. He’s very loose and uneconomical with his hand motion. It’s so relaxed and yet when he strikes the note it’s at the perfect point in the beat. It’s interesting to hear how questlove is struggling a bit to lock in to the beat but Richards just grooves on without missing anything. It’s honestly more impressive than any guitar shredder I’ve seen.

    Keith sounds amazing, and honestly if Jimmy ever loses the Tonight Show gig, the man could make a living in a cover band because he remains an incredibly impressionist. He does Mick better than Mick does Mick.

      pretty sure he used to do that AND play guitar. i could be wrong. but i think it was in his demo tape for snl. and yeah, it's great fun, i'd totally watch him doing that.

      I'll give him great honors for being the true first rock guitarist!!
      Whole band was way ahead of the industry!!
      It's rather amazing, but after 15years they just replayed, but hey- that's ok

    If I hadn't seen this, I wouldn't believe it. Keith is the body and soul of the Stones. Mick is the mouth piece and dancer. Within seconds of playing, i knew the song. Rock on, Keith❤

    He is the living riff and still one of the coolest guys on the planet. And , it has to be said, Jimmy's Jagger impersonation is pretty damn good.☺
