Happy Sunday, My buddy came over to jam last week and had the best shirt......it said......I may be old, but I got to see all the cool bands. I thought it was GREAT. CHEERS to ALL
I still can't believe Darryl doesn't have 10 million subs and this awesome music is free. What is going on? This is one of the best channel on RUclips.
You can tell Billy Gibbons loves music, and there is so much joy in his face as he is playing, and the way he looks at the others in the room seems to say, "I am having a great conversation here, we all speak the same language, and respected it as much as we enjoy it."
Seeing Billy killing it with that incredible style and sound makes you forget he's in his mid 70s and La Grange is almost 50 years old. Wow! Shout out to Darryl for his genius not only as a singer song writer but as a historian for getting so many legends to come to his house and wine and dine and make incredible music.
@@drumsoutfront --- I stand corrected. Thanks. I honestly couldn't remember when Deguello was released. I know I was young. 1973 I was 8 yrs old. I have older sisters and an older brother and young parents so music was always playing and I was listening to music that people wouldn't let their teenagers listen to when I was in kindergarten. I was listening to Bowie, Pink Floyd, Bad Co, Zeppelin, The Who, the Stones, Beatles, Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Sly and the Family Stone, Santana, The Doors, America, and more. I was that kid who if I didn't have a baseball or football game or practice and if I wasn't at the beach, I was in my sister's bedroom with the headphones on spinning her records for hours at a time. We had a second house when I was growing up, in the mountains and would spend a lot of weekends up there and one rule my dad had was no television. There was a really nice stereo setup with a turntable and reel to reel and we each, including mom and dad, got one hour to play our choice of records and no one was aloud to complain or change the music. So there was big band, Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Johnny Cash, Chet Atkins, Ella Fitzgerald, and all the bands I already named plus more. It was very good to have that exposure to so much music. Deguello is one of my top 10 albums of all time.
Oh f*ck yes!!! I was young boy in Houston when Marvin Zinder -a local TV reporter - blew the lid off the whorehouse in La Grange, about 100 miles West of Houston. Then to hear ZZ Top sing about a few years later was awesome. Mr. Gibbons went to my high school a few years before I did. Friends of mine from Houston remember seeing “pre-ZZ Top” ZZ Top playing high school auditoriums. These dudes invented Texas rock…….Godspeed to Dusty Hill whom we lost recently. Best wishes to Billy G. and Frank Beard-less in their future work!
Thank you for sharing- I was a young mom raising 2 & listening to ZZTop on radio & then videos were on cable. Everyone’s older now, sigh. Still rocking.

Jimi was never quoted as saying that, but according to Billy G, Hendrix was impressed at Billy's take on some of Hendrix's songs at a show they did together where ZZ played 2 of Jimi's songs to fill out their set.
Peace@@ninevoltromeo Jimi said Rory Gallagher was the best rock guitarist on Earth on the The Mike Douglas Show. I've seen Jimi and Rory and have to say he was right . :-) Peace

You know why all the musicians smile around Daryl? Sure he has mutual musician respect and a vast knowledge of music but the key to me is that his band is tight as hell. He always brings the goods. Excellence on stage.
As the gone but not forgotten rock station, KLOL, in Houston, Texas used to say support the home teams; Astros, Texans, Rockets and ZZ Top! Meet the Rev. Willie G at Gary’s Hat n Boots circa 1974ish. He was buying boots, hats and belts. I was buying a new bull rope. The beard was just starting, the rest is history. I won a state championship, bull riding. And ZZ Top became true ambassadors of southeast Texas “swamp blues/rock”.
They way Billy fanned the other guitarist (sorry - I can't remember his name, but he's incredible) says everything. If you're that good, you can show some love to the other guys.
Can you imagine setting down and breaking bread with Billy and just listening to all his stories. Daryl thanks for all you give us to see and listen to!
So, so glad that Darryl's House is back !!! I must have binged every episode three times in the last couple years - just hoping that he would continue once the really bad scare was over. So glad to see/hear this. Love, Mr. Hall . . .
Got goosebumps watching this. I love when legends get together and just JAM! Daryl's got a good thing going here. But I have to say it's a shame what he did to John.
ZZ Top are amazing musicians and Billy Gibbons is an amazing guitarist. I Always have really liked Hall & Oats too. Yes, One on One I wanna play that game tonight.
Billy Gibbons is the GOAT. If Billy Gibbons is gone, ZZ Top ceases to exist. I have seen the band maybe eight times with original members, and I will try to see them with new Bassist if possible. This one band, no matter how many times I see them, same songs or not, I enjoy each show just as much. It don't get much better than ZZ Top for me.
