What is to say these are fully honest impressions? The full review seemed to lack any cons too. Not saying the video isn't truthful, only that it makes me skeptical.
Well,I wanted to say I disagree with you, at first, because a lot of my favorite, RUclips personalities and podcasters all these sponsored videos but then I was thinking those people always let you know before they try to sell you something that it’s an ad or that they are sponsored by ahead of time whenever I see a video like this, however, and it’s not mention that it’s a sponsored video to start with that feels very suspect, and really bothers me so I totally hear what you’re saying. I definitely agree but I would say somebody that you’re used to watching a lot and you kind of trusted over the years leads with the fact that it’s sponsored than I definitely have a lot more trust
but let's be real, when it comes to creating cinematic videos with the quality we've come to expect out of FPV videos, it's quite not there yet. Agree or disagree?

You should really not call this a review if you were paid by the brand to make it. I hate the low standards of the camera youtubers when it comes to ads and reviews, you need to learn from the smartphone youtubers and start being a bit more truthful to your viewers
@@elvinccw No...it's more like, hundreds of hours of fpv related building, flying, researching...it's a very worthwhile hobby, but it's also incredibly complex. DJI have a bit of a lemon here, but hopefully it gets more people into real fpv :)

@@bandobandit353 joshua Bardwell has a video where he reviews the DJI FPV drone as well, and yes. the slightest crash and the arm is broken. there are none spare parts, you have to send it in. the repai will ALWAYS cost a couple 100 bucks plus the time you don't have the drone because you just send it in. This is a big issue. Also @Willy Foxx i never would recommend this to a beginner. it's way to expensive for a beginner especially with the repair costs.
@@jumpermacc6786 If you don't have the service plan and refresh you could pay out of pocket close to $500. So if you crash and you will, say you bust a motor, you have to send it in. This is not for beginners in the slightest. I've never built a drone, but I believe learning to maintain your products are very valuable.
This is a flying brick that’s literally made from glass. DJI has NO idea what they are doing. The FPV system they released a year ago is not race-friendly at all and isn’t versatile at all. This drone is not compatible with any consumer electronics and is very complicated to fix. A $200 fpv drone can fly way better than this and be 10x more durable.
@CJ Jacobs The hobby as in making good Movies and pictures with drones? YES! absolutely. The FPV system they released was superb in my opinion, thats why i was hyped for the new drone. but it is crap for what it should be. it will not set foot in the FPV hobby as is.
Keep it. It is much more suited for the job it does than this drone, and this drone does not at all accomplish what it was supposed to. For fast shots like chasing drifting cars or diving waterfalls, a real 5" FPV drone is still miles better in performance and a HERO9 will yield better quality video. To top it off, proper FPV drones can crash hard over and over and over and still fly without need for repair. This... not so much.

I can repair everything on my custom quad. Can dji drone do it ? No ? Then it's not taking over fpv. Not now and never. People seriously forget that you MUST learn to solder and dji comes up with a product that customers can't repair. That's not how you do fpv.

You should definitely go watch some real reviews that talks about both pros and cons before making a decision. This may be great if you have only flown mavic style drones and don't like to learn new stuff. The knowledge how to fix an ordinary FPV-drone directly translates into freedom in how you dare to fly them. They are more agile too.
Is that because it says what you want to hear? Suggest you go and find a more independent review, there are loads around and most of them are not nearly as brown nosing as this one.

Kabob is the only reviewer that i have seen with the balls to say the truth. even bardwell will opt for silence over a bad review. but Kabob will tell you if it sucks. Ask yourself if you would call this product out? then watch the misleading infomercial you made. bardwell breaks an arm flying slowly through scraggle?? bring your fragile little gps toy to the field, it breaks, you can watch or spectate i guess until dji sends it back. this is not the right product to be an early adopter. unless you can read a script and get it for free.

I would say there would be more people like to fly FPV but don’t want to bother to make it by themselves. Not everyone is a maker, and even someone can build FPV drone like me, I just don’t want to get the hand dirty.

Terrible ad, so many lies about getting started with normal fpv. Its not hard to build your own fpv drone watch tutorial video and your done you dont need "Months" of practice. You also mentioned its hard to link up your controller and goggles to the drone, it isnt you just press 2 buttons on your drone and controller or goggles then you are connected. Stop telling lies to impress your sponsor. Really disappointed
As someone who tried normal fpv - it's right, you need months of learning. Soldering, voltage, parts, which parts can work with each other. Then you have goggles and their antennas, antennas on drone, controller and its signal out of which you need to know which can be paired with what and how will that work..will it work? Dji is just streamlining the process allowing non tech savvy people to get into the fpv fun

It's not taking over FPV, it's a stepping stone into FPV , a gateway drug of sorts. It's not replacing FPV because we encourage people to be educated about every aspect of FPV, which includes the technical side. All the extra skills combined makes you a better pilot and fpv drone builder.
I feel like the years of monopolistic garbage like Fatshark googles of price gouging massively underwhelming technology. The insane cost of Fatsharks with their 1980's like displays. Especially when some of their googles are $500-$700 for some HDO dominator, whoopie for a 4:3 "800x600" display at 1mb bit rate. Fatsharks were never worth more than $200 tops for their products. At last for a while there were some skyzones or others. But all the googles are overpriced garbage. Good on DJI headset to create something worth it.

For example my father doesn't have the time or experience to invest into a traditional fpv drone, and even less so to learn the software, research the hardware, etc. Something like this is perfect for him because it offers the same "training wheels" that other dji hover drones offer with more safety features for beginners to learn acro mode.
Always wanted DJI to allow you to store the footage separately from their drones. This is game changer! Plus the hovering of an FPV drone is amazing haha! This is the perfect drone as of now haha! Great stuff Sam!
Everyone who doesn't like this drone needs to realize something. The FPV market, especially professional quads, is not as big as you think it is. And when beginners come to this comment section and see the pros bashing a great drone that can help more people get into the hobby, they are less encouraged to actually pick up a remote, and start flying. You people who dislike this drone, are too cocky and think the FPV market is as big as DJI's market, well, you're not, so let people do what they want without the criticism from the people who have been doing it longer. We need to encourage people, not make them feel like shiet. I understand the drone isn't perfect, it's much more expensive than traditional quads, but nothing is perfect, now get over yourselves.
Pretty awesome still waiting for *Mavic 3* tho. This is cool shots and all but a lot of the times my main cam footage is the main portion of the video, that might need a supplement of aerials. If its sport/commercial related content, this is simply killer for them adrenaline vids.
DJI hasn’t changed FPV. Noobs who try and fly this in acro are going to be using their 3 Refreshes from DJI care within the first month. 2000mah 6S Li-On battery vs a 1000mah 6S LiPo
Update after a year. These drone didn't took over, they just became a pile of plastic waste after crashing once and actually custom cine fpv drones with big red cameras on there back took over.
1. This isn't a review, it is an advertisement. 2. I do think this drone is awesome. The motion controller is something I really like. 3. My first foray into the FPV world was the BetaFPV "Tiny whoopkit". Yeah, it doesn't have all the features etc, but it only cost me 10% of this kit... 4. My first Paramotor cost the same as this drone. Much more immersive. You are actually IN THE AIR.

I have had this drone for months. I absolutely love it. If you fly in Normal and Sport mode , you wont crash it. I havent crashed or even come close. If you lose signal it auto elevates to what alt you set it to beforehand and auto returns, goggles reconnect and you have control and video again. Its amazing. I told DJI they need a firmware update to unlock 87mph in sport. Just bump the speed and it will be insane. Im hoping they listen and do that. I have no interest n flips and rolls, that where things can happen. I will never fly that way. I like keeping mine in pristine condition.
And that is a mistake. Watch Joshua Bardwell's review or Ken Heron's for some important thoughts about it. This is just a comercial. A good one so, be carefull.
Sam you literally work for DJI please be transparent. This drone isn’t taking over FPV. It’s a great tool to have and a great way for beginners to bridge the gap but it’s durability is a joke. You can’t rely on this on a paid job unless you have several of these. You crash too hard and your day is done. Not only that you’re now waiting for weeks for DJI to repair this. They’re also several times more expensive than quads you can build and maintain on your own. I’m glad FPV is gaining exposure but you saying it’s taking over FPV is straight up false. People are going to learn quickly that being down for weeks after a crash isn’t enjoyable or sustainable. I love your work but this seems like a paid for ad, which it is.
recently saw one of these dismantle itself in a crash any real fpv quad would have easily survived....owner says good bye to his quad for weeks now waiting for repairs of non use serviceable parts and looking at a huge bill...He's also lamenting the high cost of parts he can get..$150 battery packs ?...c'mon.. good luck
resist DJI does it float? building a drone is not complicated, don't be stupid, just practice soldering on test pieces before you commit to your ESC, use your brain, learn how to do something other than friend and unfriend people on your phone.

Great video ! But you can also set normal FPV drones to switch to acro or stabilize mode using the auxiliary sticks, so the feature is not entirely new. Overall great stuff by DJI.
This is clearly a very biased review, or you didn’t mention that what you say could be affected by a sponsorship. As someone who also flies fpv, although there are many compelling aspects of the dji fpv drone, there are some very obvious disadvantages, such as less performance (than something like a 6s 5” fpv quad), more prone to breaking due to weaker materials, plus repairs will be expensive because dji parts are always very expensive, and the radio has very small gimbals for an expensive fpv drone. You also said it takes months to learn how to build an fpv drone, which is untrue, it can be learnt much more quickly than that. You also did not mention that prebuilt fpv drones exist and offer good and cheap entry to the hobby. Also, a lot of the things you would consider disadvantages of building your own fpv drone I would consider a pro. Many of the extra things you have to do give an extra layer of user control, such as charging the lipos and setting everything up in betaflight. These thints don’t make the dji fpv a bad drone, but I think it would be much more responsible to mention some of the clear disadvantages (since you claim youre into fpv), especially considering you labelled the video a “review”.
10 to 12mins in sport mode if your lucky for what ive seen....manual mode your lucky to get even 10mins....hold that just watched a guy get a 25% low battery warning at 5 mins 30 seconds using sports mode.....20mins flight time my ass

I bought the very first DJI and got some amazing footage at the time, then I broke it and it's been years. This one got me back in, massive thumbs up on the DJI and great review man, thanks
That thing is not durable at all. It breaks easily and flies mediocre. The only thing it's taking over is the repair market. If all you care about is going fast in a straight line then here you go. Don't hit anything or it will crumble. I've seen it first hand. I have hit all manner of things with my quads and besides the very rare actual repair of a component, which I can do myself, I just replace props which are way cheaper than the props for this thing. MEH at best.
I’d just like to say, it really doesn’t take months to learn how to build an FPV drone. When I was getting started 2 years ago, the most difficult part was actually finding what components I needed and which would work together well. All in all it look way less then a month (when not counting shipping times) from planning to maiden flight.

You should definitely go watch some real reviews that talks about both pros and cons before making a decision. This may be great if you have only flown mavic style drones and don't like to learn new stuff.
The knowledge how to fix an ordinary FPV-drone directly translates into freedom in how you dare to fly them. They are more agile too.

Kabob is the only reviewer that i have seen with the balls to say the truth. even bardwell will opt for silence over a bad review. but Kabob will tell you if it sucks. Ask yourself if you would call this product out? then watch the misleading infomercial you made. bardwell breaks an arm flying slowly through scraggle?? bring your fragile little gps toy to the field, it breaks, you can watch or spectate i guess until dji sends it back. this is not the right product to be an early adopter. unless you can read a script and get it for free.

I like everything Kold does, but you are right- this IS a DJI commercial. Just remember- you WILL crash this a LOT, and the name of the game for DJI is... REPLACEMENTS pARTS. $$$$ THAT is the name of the game. Sorry, Kolds, but it's the truth.

I would say there would be more people like to fly FPV but don’t want to bother to make it by themselves. Not everyone is a maker, and even someone can build FPV drone like me, I just don’t want to get the hand dirty.

Terrible ad, so many lies about getting started with normal fpv. Its not hard to build your own fpv drone watch tutorial video and your done you dont need "Months" of practice. You also mentioned its hard to link up your controller and goggles to the drone, it isnt you just press 2 buttons on your drone and controller or goggles then you are connected. Stop telling lies to impress your sponsor. Really disappointed
As someone who tried normal fpv - it's right, you need months of learning. Soldering, voltage, parts, which parts can work with each other. Then you have goggles and their antennas, antennas on drone, controller and its signal out of which you need to know which can be paired with what and how will that work..will it work? Dji is just streamlining the process allowing non tech savvy people to get into the fpv fun

It's not taking over FPV, it's a stepping stone into FPV , a gateway drug of sorts. It's not replacing FPV because we encourage people to be educated about every aspect of FPV, which includes the technical side. All the extra skills combined makes you a better pilot and fpv drone builder.
I feel like the years of monopolistic garbage like Fatshark googles of price gouging massively underwhelming technology. The insane cost of Fatsharks with their 1980's like displays. Especially when some of their googles are $500-$700 for some HDO dominator, whoopie for a 4:3 "800x600" display at 1mb bit rate. Fatsharks were never worth more than $200 tops for their products. At last for a while there were some skyzones or others. But all the googles are overpriced garbage. Good on DJI headset to create something worth it.

@@vitorxavier8257 incorrect, this drone is perfect for beginners who are trying to learn fpv. For example my father doesn't have the time or experience to invest into a traditional fpv drone, and even less so to learn the software, research the hardware, etc. Something like this is perfect for him because it offers the same "training wheels" that other dji hover drones offer with more safety features for beginners to learn acro mode.
Always wanted DJI to allow you to store the footage separately from their drones. This is game changer!

Everyone who doesn't like this drone needs to realize something. The FPV market, especially professional quads, is not as big as you think it is. And when beginners come to this comment section and see the pros bashing a great drone that can help more people get into the hobby, they are less encouraged to actually pick up a remote, and start flying. You people who dislike this drone, are too cocky and think the FPV market is as big as DJI's market, well, you're not, so let people do what they want without the criticism from the people who have been doing it longer. We need to encourage people, not make them feel like shiet. I understand the drone isn't perfect, it's much more expensive than traditional quads, but nothing is perfect, now get over yourselves.

Pretty awesome still waiting for *Mavic 3* tho. This is cool shots and all but a lot of the times my main cam footage is the main portion of the video, that might need a supplement of aerials. If its sport/commercial related content, this is simply killer for them adrenaline vids.

Update after a year. These drone didn't took over, they just became a pile of plastic waste after crashing once and actually custom cine fpv drones with big red cameras on there back took over.

3. My first foray into the FPV world was the BetaFPV "Tiny whoopkit". Yeah, it doesn't have all the features etc, but it only cost me 10% of this kit...
4. My first Paramotor cost the same as this drone. Much more immersive. You are actually IN THE AIR.

DJI FPV - Why this drone is taking over FPV?????????? If you want to get into real FPV DO NOT BUY THIS DRONE. This guy in the video has not got a clue going by the title of the video.
I have had this drone for months. I absolutely love it. If you fly in Normal and Sport mode , you wont crash it. I havent crashed or even come close. If you lose signal it auto elevates to what alt you set it to beforehand and auto returns, goggles reconnect and you have control and video again. Its amazing. I told DJI they need a firmware update to unlock 87mph in sport. Just bump the speed and it will be insane. Im hoping they listen and do that. I have no interest n flips and rolls, that where things can happen. I will never fly that way. I like keeping mine in pristine condition.
Should have just bought mavic mini or mavic 2 if not gonna fly acro

Sam you literally work for DJI please be transparent. This drone isn’t taking over FPV. It’s a great tool to have and a great way for beginners to bridge the gap but it’s durability is a joke. You can’t rely on this on a paid job unless you have several of these. You crash too hard and your day is done. Not only that you’re now waiting for weeks for DJI to repair this. They’re also several times more expensive than quads you can build and maintain on your own. I’m glad FPV is gaining exposure but you saying it’s taking over FPV is straight up false. People are going to learn quickly that being down for weeks after a crash isn’t enjoyable or sustainable. I love your work but this seems like a paid for ad, which it is.

recently saw one of these dismantle itself in a crash any real fpv quad would have easily survived....owner says good bye to his quad for weeks now waiting for repairs of non use serviceable parts and looking at a huge bill...He's also lamenting the high cost of parts he can get..$150 battery packs ?...c'mon..

This video is obviously sponsored (heavily) by DJI cause it's a pile of bullshit. DJI, unlike the digital image system for FPV which was released last year, this time created a flying tech potato. Half capable, super expensive compared to full fledged freestyle or racing or cinematic FPV drones. Super fragile compared to , again, full fledged freestyle or racing or cinematic FPV drones. But of course if you watch sponsored videos bythe company which makes something in a non FPV flying specific channel, you end up with an expensive flying potato. But you can also set normal FPV drones to switch to acro or stabilize mode using the auxiliary sticks, so the feature is not entirely new. Overall great stuff by DJI.
This is clearly a very biased review, or you didn’t mention that what you say could be affected by a sponsorship. As someone who also flies fpv, although there are many compelling aspects of the dji fpv drone, there are some very obvious disadvantages, such as less performance (than something like a 6s 5” fpv quad), more prone to breaking due to weaker materials, plus repairs will be expensive because dji parts are always very expensive, and the radio has very small gimbals for an expensive fpv drone. You also said it takes months to learn how to build an fpv drone, which is untrue, it can be learnt much more quickly than that. You also did not mention that prebuilt fpv drones exist and offer good and cheap entry to the hobby. Also, a lot of the things you would consider disadvantages of building your own fpv drone I would consider a pro. Many of the extra things you have to do give an extra layer of user control, such as charging the lipos and setting everything up in betaflight. These thints don’t make the dji fpv a bad drone, but I think it would be much more responsible to mention some of the clear disadvantages (since you claim youre into fpv), especially considering you labelled the video a “review”.
10 to 12mins in sport mode if your lucky for what ive seen....manual mode your lucky to get even 10mins....hold that just watched a guy get a 25% low battery warning at 5 mins 30 seconds using sports mode.....20mins flight time my ass

That thing is not durable at all. It breaks easily and flies mediocre. The only thing it's taking over is the repair market. If all you care about is going fast in a straight line then here you go. Don't hit anything or it will crumble. I've seen it first hand. I have hit all manner of things with my quads and besides the very rare actual repair of a component, which I can do myself, I just replace props which are way cheaper than the props for this thing. MEH at best.
I’d just like to say, it really doesn’t take months to learn how to build an FPV drone.
When I was getting started 2 years ago, the most difficult part was actually finding what components I needed and which would work together well. All in all it look way less then a month (when not counting shipping times) from planning to maiden flight.
Configuring betaflight can longer then building the quad itself.
