    I have this idea where the FPV could have aerial battles with another fpv . Not actually shooting anything from your drone but while chasing another fpv drone and once your close enough to get a good lock, you can with press a button on the goggles or controller that would make a sound once you have hit your target or shot it out of the sky. There would have to be a new program. I could see this as a fun thing and it could add another dimension of fun while not worrying about crashing and seeing your hard earned money go down the drain. There has to be a way for DJI to think of a way to do this. I for one would be interested !! Enjoyed the video with DJI answering all the questions 👍

    Id like to see a true beginner affordable FPV from DJI, a superlight, a self repair/serviceable, super affordable. Similar to the beta FPV offerings, but with the self takeoff and landing, and some of the front facing automations and sensors. This drone is incredible, but the price scares me with how much I'd anticipate on crashing while learning! Love the videos as always!

  • @scbartschi
    @scbartschi 3 года назад +10

    I think it would be cool if the DJI PFV drone, along with all the Mavics, could generally determine, using GPS and map coordinates, altitude above the ground and automatically adjust the 400 foot ceiling accordingly instead of fixing it to the takeoff altitude. I've been out flying in the mountains following trucks where, because the altitude continued to sharply increase as we were driving, I had to land often to reset the takeoff altitude just so I could have the flexibility to climb higher than the mountain terrain. Even if you change the max altitude you still end up doing the same thing from time to time. But the phone app records the exact location of every flight that I do with GPS including showing it on a map. So I wonder if GPS could generally determine your height above the ground anywhere within a hundred feet or so even if it's only based on a contour map with GPS overlay.

    • @ddegn
      @ddegn 3 года назад

      I see people asking for this on the DJI forum. People how live near mountains want to be fly near the mountain without the normal altitude limit.
      You are likely already aware, but the max altitude for this new drone is 1644 ft. Of course it's not necessarily legal to fly this high but it would allow some flexibility when flying near a mountain.

    • @bobfest703
      @bobfest703 3 года назад +1

      @@ddegn I've messed around with that on the Mavic 2 when I'm in the mountains. It's better. But sometimes these mountains just keep going up and when you hit that ultimate limit before you've reached the summit you have to land to reset. Legally you're supposed to be able to fly 400 feet above the ground regardless of takeoff point. It would be nice to have the flexibility to fly at least a few hundred feet higher than the peak without being forced to reset. Real pain to have to halt a caravan of trucks just so I can reset. In my mind it seems like an easy fix, though there may be scenarios I'm not accounting for.

    • @ddegn
      @ddegn 3 года назад

      @@bobfest703 "It would be nice to have the flexibility to fly at least a few hundred feet higher than the peak"
      Agreed.
      "there may be scenarios I'm not accounting for."
      I think one of the issues is the map data is not in the drone or the controller. The drone doesn't have access to this info when it's in flight. It's only after the log has been downloaded that the flight can be superimposed over the map. Having the map data in the drone or controller would require a more powerful processor with more memory. Things that are possible but it would of course increase the cost of production.
      It should be possible for the Fly app to make these calculations then require the smart device to be connected to the goggles in order to use this feature. Even this would require the goggles to process more info than normal and might not be possible without upgrading the processor in the goggles.
      This would be a cool feature to have but I can see why it's not included.

    • @matthewvezey8996
      @matthewvezey8996 3 года назад +1

      @@ddegn I gotta say that that altitude limitation is a serious deal-breaker for me and my buddies. We know the law and we follow it. When we're in the middle of nowhere, in the mountains trying to get epic looking shots the idea of maxing out the altitude before we've even reached the top of a mountain cliff we want to dive seriously drives us nuts. It already drives me crazy with my Mavic 2. I love the security that I feel with the GPS return to home function, something I wish I felt with my FPV drones, but with that max altitude, even at 1644 ft, it's useless. Give me the option to turn that off and I'll buy the DJI FPV drone. Until then...

    • @ddegn
      @ddegn 3 года назад

      @@matthewvezey8996 Have you tried any of the return to home features in iNav? I think BetaFlight might also have this feature. I haven't tried it on my DIY drones yet myself but I intend to try to figure it out. The RTH saved my DJI FPV once. It was scary having the screen go black and having to wait a couple of minutes before I knew the drone was on its way back.
      I completely agree with complaints about the altitude limit on the DJI drone. I don't blame anyone for now wanting to buy the drone. Personally, I'm really glad I purchased it. It's crazy fun to fly. The transmitted video quality is so much better than anything else I've seen that I'm willing to put up with the drones many faults.

    I think a waterproof fpv drone will be a game changer, not only to fly while its raining, but if you are flying and suddenly begins to rain. Sometimes you don't want to go out because you think is going to rain and it does not rain that day and it sucks.
    Also something involving 360 footage will be awesome, and adding features with VR will be sick too, I think.
    Also having a cheaper version of the fpv drone, so it can be more accessible, even if it does not have all the features. This way more people, like myself, could be able to afford one, this also knowing that, as an fpv, there will be a lot of crashes

    I would love DJI to introduce few more features in future in this beast..
    1. 90 degrees look down camera so that pilot can see the landing surface without assistance from the observer, moreover rotating look down shot
    2. Night performance improvement
    3. In dji simulator, more area to practice other than factory and stadium or parking which doesn’t give much freedom to master ur skills in manual mode
    3.max altitude restriction in no flying area like mountainous area should be increased

    @Potato Jet The motion control is fun and easy to use, but I still think they should update the Firmware to allow it to roll with the attitude limiter off. If we can change rates, and it has a brake button, it should be an option to turn the motion controller to a HOTAS/ Joystick and fly the drone like a fighter jet/helicopter.

    Those deductibles are too high considering your already paying $200 for the insurance and $250 for first replacement, its basically $500. When a new replacement drone is $700. Sure its a savings, but saying "its significantly lower". Is that what "significant" means to you? Lets see. Lets pretend is a $30,000 car. Lets say your insurance is lol, $9000sih given similarity of cost that insurance on the DJI FPV is close to 30%. Then your deductible with your initial payment. Given that you're paying 72% of the drone with insurance and deductible would make your car replacement $21,600 for a $30,000 car AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA give or take kind of rip off.

    It would be great if DJI could build an FPV drone with sensors that transmit feedback to haptic vibrators in the controller to indicate the drones orientation in space when nearing obstacles, throughout a roll or flip (indicating each 90degrees of rotation), vibrations on steep dives and possibly when damage occurs.

    I’d like to see a fly together function. Where two to four FPV drones could lock into a formation and break apart fluidly. It could be used to let a person flying with you take a break for a moment solve a problem that may happen with he equipment. You could use your drone to go get a second drone that may have disengaged from connection with a controller like a lost drone in a side car.

    Definitely, i got two ideas for future DJI Drones,
    The First one is "DJI POV" - (RUclipsrs bigs dream) a drone that flies next to you \ in front of you. It's will allow creators to do their thing hands-free.
    the second idea is: DJI FID - FLY IN DOORS
    This drone is meant to work in an in-doors environment.
    It will have few modes:
    Safe mode - great for real estate footage, presentions etc...
    Experience mode - after programming the "spots," the drone will fly over the place and capture the experience that you are looking for - amazing live shows, lectures etc...
    sure, both of the drones will have stunning cameras and finally, no need for ND filters :)
    ( Nege, thank you for years of great content and for begging an amazing teacher, love !)

    I want a computer interface so I can plot a repeatable course based on waypoints on a grid. Whether this is inside or outside you could define the grid as say feet, yards, etc and perhaps take area input from third-party mapping such as Google Maps or input a floorplan. This would be great for both creative and sports applications.

    Cool little drone but I think there are many things to improve like :
    - Image stablization
    - Low light image quality
    - Carbon fiber arms
    - Repairable arms
    - Flatter design to improve aerodynamic performances
    I know that DJI will improve it a lot for the v2 I can’t wait to see that!
    If I had the budget i’ll insta buy it because there are also many good points to have this drone :-)

    Thank you for the opportunity to win this awesome drone. I think a next gen version would benefit from being slightly lighter and and more sturdy in build quality, at least on the arms as those always seen to be damaged 1st. Perhaps making them easier to swap out would save on repair cost, both ways. Perhaps a smaller drone that would handle indoor shots safely

    As you said I would love to see a smaller sub 250 unit. I would also like to see DJI get into a more "Systematic" approach where it is far easier and more affordable to swap parts (ie. arms, motors,.......) in and out not only for repairs but possibly also for altering the performance and overall scenario setup of your drone. I also really hope they dive further into the motion controller realm and would love to see how that can evolve to be a more precise and dynamic system. Thanks for all the great content as usual.

    It would be great if DJI improves upon the camera quality on the fpv drone. Get the smoothness of a top notch gopro directly on the the drone. Also some smart movements features embedded in the sport and normal mode, that would be an awesome option for cinematographers that haven’t master full manual mode.

  • @JeremiahBostwick
    @JeremiahBostwick 2 года назад

    I'm coming in late to comment on this, but most of the stuff I would want is quality of camera stuff.
    It's getting to the point where for some of us it's possible/cost effective to get smaller full blown cinema cameras onto FPV drones. As an example a Komodo, and all Z Cam's, basically all box cams, etc. So to me, DJI's competitors are really cinema systems that have much higher, much nicer output. And that is ideally what I would want out of their FPV. It's the ease of use/setup (not needing to spend hours in building/tuning) but still having a nice image.
    For that means, minimum 10 bit with a high bitrate. Something at least around around 250 mbps h.265. It needs to have at least a 1" sensor. Ideally even bigger, but starting at 1" would be a big deal. And then in a fixed lens situation (which lets say that's what we're stuck with) a much better setup preferably made by their Hasselblad partners, with image processing also from Hasselblad. Having a roughly 20mm full frame equivalent is probably the most obvious choice for focal length. And preferably that width can be accomplished without props in the frame.
    Otherwise to me this thing is more or less a toy. If you're a serious racer, you're using something else. And if you want serious cinematic footage you're using something else. So this is kind of in no-mans land. Just for hobbyests or people that want an intermediate system or who want to dabble in FPV.
    This is in stark contrast to something like the Mavic 2 Pro (and now Mavic 3), which although there are options at the high end (like I said, mounting a cinema camera onto a platform), it at least high enough quality to be intercut with cinema camera footage. It offers 10-bit, a relatively large sensor, etc. Its real trick of course being that it's compact enough to be used by event shooters and documentary film shooters who need to travel with it and can't afford the space for a much larger cinema system and platform.
    So while I wouldn't go as far as to say that DJI FPV should be an "everything" drone, because that's impossible (different tools for different needs). I would say that getting high end images out of this would be a big step in the right direction so that people can get a big dose of the flavor while minimizing the complexity and cost. And that's really the best place a drone from DJI like this can live.

    Everything dji dose is great and more than anybody could ask for, but for the next step i would love to see these things in a drone (the last one is the best #6)
    1_camera on that fpv is great but it can get alot better making it the ultimate flying and recording drone
    2_if im using manual mode i would love to see in the next fpv drone with more safety regardin obstacles, not only in normal and sport mode, being more tolerated with the distances of these obstacles this way we can do some aprroximitt flying not to warry about i mate destroy the drone, couple inches in manual mode is really a challenge but i know if there is a drone maker can make it then it's going to be dji
    3_ some water tolerance would be great, im not talking about water resresistance, no just some tolerance by covering electronics inside so if im filming near the water or in the rain its ok to take some dropes of water
    4_find my drone via maps
    5_someone asked about night footage and it is great and what everybody thinks about that because i wanna be able to fly my drone over the city at night slowly or doing some aprroximitt flying near LED or film the reflection on buildings at night
    6_the drone has one camera, but imagine that i wanna record a shot of something moving in a narrow space, i need to film it flying the drone backward, i will be using the camera to film but i won't be able to fly it though, same thing of im filming a car on a curve, i will need the camera to be on the car, but i can't see what is in front of the drone this way, so adding a second 360 camera or even a regular camera withe ability to control in case such things needed, it dose not have to be the best qualty just for flying, able to swirch to it, with main camera footage apearing on goggles as very small split screen with ability of horizontal movement and ability to focus and track a sobject this way im flying the camera safely and recording some great shots.
    I know its looks difficult, but dji already half way on Most of what i said it is just some small touches (two last ideas, u can add a camera to the next gen of goggles switch to it by button or controller, because i might need to see what is in front of me without having to take the goggles of my head and leaving the controller) (adding a speaker with ability to talk to mic on goggles and transmit the sound to the drone it self).
    Thank you 🌺

    Two feature requests.
    one. Externally mounted antennas. I do a lot of offroad shit and we pound dirt 8-12 hours in a single day, oftentimes during the winter where daylight is short. We don't have time to stop, so we need to be running and gunning, any way to save time on production. Being able to control a drone within a moving vehicle is absolutely necessary.
    two. Rear facing camera, or a separate gimbal vs a flight cam. We want to be able to do follow shots and a lot of the stuff is with cars. Or otherwise DJI Could make a single-prop-wing-based drone with a bottom mounted gimbal and a forward mounted flight cam with long duration loiter capability.

    I’d like a super easy video export option where you could add a PIP map view mode. Like you’d be able to see your drone’s position and direction on a little inset map, in sync with the drone footage.
