first of all that are not regular drones, that are consumer drones and fyi a fpv drone can do the same shots as a consumer can do.
Nothing holds a fvp pilot back from flying slow or high , besides the skill of the pilot. ;)

    • @RaniRani-zt2tr
      @RaniRani-zt2tr Год назад

Well I don’t really know the thing is that you cannot do things these normal drones do with fpv AND NO IT IS NOT ABOUT THE PRICE BECAUSE THE (CONSUMER DRONE) CAN COST OVER $5000 AND IT IS AN “INDUSTRY LEADING PHOTOGRAPHY TOOL” that is what DJI calls it AND IN EVENTS LIKE WEDDING AND OTHER ON STAGE ONES, YOU REALLY CANNOT FLY FPV DRONES. OH AND I REALLY LOVE THE GOPRO 11 BUT NOTHING COMPARES TO THE AWESOME GIMBAL CAMERAS THAT DJI MAKES AND JUST THE OVERALL PACKAGE LIKE THE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM IS OCUSYNC 4.0 WHICH CAN REACH A WAPPING 20 KILOMETERS AND MUCH MORE THAT THEY ARE JUST NOT POSSIBLE WITH AN FPV DRONE THAT YOU WOULD BUILD.
There are still some kinds of footage that you really need an fpv drone for it but that would come at the cost of skills and not really the tools

    • @RaniRani-zt2tr
      @RaniRani-zt2tr Год назад

Oh the price that I mentioned is only about the small series so yeah because the inspire 3 costs between $20000 and $40000 so I respect your skill but fpv cannot really take over these photography cinematic tools

@@raistraw8629 Actually no. An FPV drone has no control over the movement of the cam that records the clip to be processed. True, there are control systems, but they are not at all easy. Of course with a fpv you can go very slow, I let my little ones go around the house slowly without problems. But never bring one type of drone, with its movements created on purpose, closer to another drone that has been created on purpose. We must always respect the two worlds, and share them. Then if someone only owns an FPV drone, they make do with what they have.

It's true about FPV drones, you need a lot of money if you want to be at a high level and race. I was doing FPV drones when they just started to appear, there weren’t even simulators on computers yet. For 1.5 years I spent about 1600-4000 bucks on spare parts for the drone. But to be honest, I flew almost every day.

If you fly camera drones and want to get into FPV, buy the avata pro view combo and fpv controller 2. It costs 29 dollars to replace a broken Avata with care refresh. Then, you can buy true FPV drones with the 03 air unit. The avata can act like a camera drone. Has plenty of camera features. doesn't need a gopro if you aren't a professional doing client work. The fpv controller 2 can be used with the 03 air unit to control any fov drone.

I started flying fpv. Never owned a dji drone. I can tell you that the soldering and tinkering was both painful and equally rewarding. Getting something you created in the air is an amazing feeling. Especially when its tuned.
However I definitely can see the appeal for an out of the box plug n play. I flew my friends mavic and it was both easy and rewarding in its own way.
Nothing can beat feeling like an eagle though. Like nothing. 🦅

  • @mannythehunter
    @mannythehunter Год назад +38

    Both!
    FPV
    - Create those crazy dive shots!! You can’t create that with a regular drone
    - Proximity flying. It’s not easier (than regular drone) but you do gain more confidence with FPV
    - Have a really hard leaning curve. I have spent 6 months with one now and I still don’t feel confident on certain dives.
    Regular drones
    - Fire and forget. You can set it to pan or follow you and not worry about it
    - Easy to Learn
Each drone has their plus and minus. I had to developed a cheat sheet for shots so I don’t forget the possible shots I can take at a location. Sometimes you get focused on that particular dive and forget there are many other shots you can take. For example you can pan away with FPV (from really close object) and create an awesome better shot than with a regular drone.

I think the biggest difference is the adrenaline. There is no way a gps drone can produce the kind of emotional rush the fpv can but there is no way an fpv can highlight a subject from different perspectives a gps drone can. I recently bought the Avata after a decade of wanting a drone but refrained from doing so simply because the gps drone felt like more work for me and I wanted to enjoy the immersion of flying. Really enjoyed this video Peter. Really highlights the differences.

From a pure "flying enjoyment" perspective, regular drones can't come close to the enjoyment that I get out of FPV. I can go through 10+ packs and not be bored. That said, I love how easy it is to get up in the air with my Mavic 3 and how worry free it is once I'm flying. It's perfect for getting those cinematic establishing shots, whereas FPV is perfect for the action. The Mavic is like driving around in a luxury sedan, and FPV is like tearing up a track in an open wheeler. They're both great for totally different things, and they both have a spot in my fleet.

As a professional drone user (Drone Service Italia) I prefer both worlds, not just this or that. And you need to know how to choose with visual accuracy which drone is best. The fpv shots are absolutely dynamic, even using a cinewhoop, but there are times when you use an FPV and others a stabilized DJI, for example, and others where you use cinelifters to have extreme quality, given that you load important loads on this cam and heavy. FPV in very open environments doesn't work, if you go down in altitude, and flying over that narrow river, honestly beautiful yes, but I would prefer to use FPV exclusively on the waterfall, while I'm going towards the waterfall itself and I throw myself over it descent, or while climbing the waterfall. Filming of the river from above only and exclusively with a stabilized DJI. I always really appreciate that beautiful slow movement that makes you observe everything. While an FPV even at low altitude if you had to pass it through a rock gorge. But these are just examples that come to mind. The extremely dynamic flight on the plate never pays off. Unless you get to a place where fpv is needed. I know in Thailand on a long beach, and then getting the FPV into a nice big house. Obviously these are just personal comments. And I agree regardless of whether a person thinks differently.

Coming from a cinematic aspect, both styles have merits, depending on how you want to tell a story. The FVP is great for the fast dynamic sweeping movement, while DJI for those horizontal stabilised shots. Though I’m not a fan of always flying so low with the FPV, I think it would be better flying a few meters higher while still keeping the speed

the difference between these two drones is that fpv drones especially when used in this context capture more of the feeling of nature it's almost like you're a gust of wind just blowing along the scenery and normal drones are capturing the scenery as a hole so you're not a part of the scenery but you're seeing all of it you're getting the grandiose nature of in this case Iceland itself it gives you a feeling for the area without having to be there now if you use just one of these methods you will get fantastic results but if you use both and change them together you can string some of the most visually pleasing cinematics that human technology has given us the privilege to make

    Well, I have them all^^
Fpv is more a DIY hobby and the focus is flying.
I compare it with skateboarding, locate a nice spot and try to improve and limit test every time.
RTF drones are more like a minivan with a great camera.
FPV is cheaper for sure! If you buy high end components you pay high end prices!
    5 inch 6s with a dji 03 ($600)
    1500mah 6s battery ($70)
Remote of your choice, I use the TBS Tango2 ($250)
    Dual Charger ISDT mark2 ($120)
    DJI goggles v2 ($800)
In a crash 75% of the time you take of with turtle mode 3 sec later and everything is fine.
If something brakes you fix it on the spot, noone could fix it better than you!
replace a motor or a arm in 20 min for $20
Crash a RTF and you have to send it in and you wont fly for a while.

Hey man i’ve been flying Dji drones for years now, i’ve been thinking to start my journey with FPV, you think Dji fpv avata is a good starter? Or is a custom built one better?😊

In my opinion, like every bit of equipment in film making, both have their place for certain situations.

They are 2 different drones. Primary if you're out to do the Maverick runs you want the FPV. Those being used for typical photography like what the Mavic 3 Pro can do which is insane! Would be kind of useless that that FPV drone. It has to be fast video and short battery life.
I am liking my Avata. You may not get the speed using the Avata for FPV like the FPV Drone, but you can do pretty well with it at slower speeds. 60mph isn't bad at all for a top speed in this area. I can also use my Avata a bit like the Mavic 3 and using the Goggles 2 to help control the Camera it can help you stay targeted on something pretty decently and take some pretty nice shots. Functionality wise I 100% get it doesn't hold a candle to the Mavic 3 in its amazing ability to do aerial photography and all the functionality is absolutely insane.
But, I am happy! I have been drooling a bit over the DJI Mavic Classic! I have the Air 2s and I do love it, but it's hard to look away from the Mavic Classic!
The Avata in the FPV area does have one major advantage. It can fly in FPV mode for about 15 plus minutes! Depending on if you have to do max speed almost nonstop! many spots I can do lesser speeds and still have an amazing time with it.
Wait, sorry I am talking too much!

It's funny how you tested to see which shot was better but it was almost like the Mavic's shots were amazing establishing shots for the FPV drone shots.. Just taught me equipment really does have a time and place.

Cruising the ridges with the FPV is definitely and has it's uses. The mavic gave more detail because it wasn't always racing. It gives more time to look at the details.

Also a thing to consider when buying a fpv drone is to buy a nice camera like a GoPro 9,10,11,12. Which add a lot of money too. And you ll crash a lot more at the beginning !

Also FPV drones are more about appreciating the movements as opposed to appreciating the scenery. Yes you can still show off the scenery with FPV but they’re so fast you don’t really get much time to soak it in.

I love FPV the feeling of flying in cloud or amazing location and travelling to remote place is the best feeling. Hiking the peak of mountain a feeling that you cant explain .
The choice of drone is on your style too and yes may come expensive to get started but after its not too bad until you get more drone 😂

For being in both sides, I can tell that you touched a lot of true things in the comparison.
I think it also lacks contest. FPV is great for standalone content, like Instagram reels. But for commercial, corporate videos, you can't let the whole line in the final edit and you have to think of shots that go well together. Sometimes FPV does not fit at all sadly.
What I realised after almost two years of FPV is that it is the action cam of drones. It is very specific in terms of where it truely fits and where it belongs, because the camera is dependant of the drone. Where FPV is for me the future, it is for dual op, with one hell of a pilot control the drone with the precision of FPV (allowing flight paths Mavic wouldn't dare to try), and one camera operator. The Inspire is the ultimate drone in that instance in my opinion, there is very little things it can't do !

I would say I prefer the FPV, as I think you can get good results with the action-type shots and smooth shots too. The difficulty level is incredible though 😂 Loved both, but the FPV has a slight edge ❤

I love the fpv shots. However i wouldn’t want a whole video filmed with that thing. Rather use it for specific shots and use a dji for most of the footage. Grym video!

Also. I dont find drones racing through toght spaces that interesting. I actully find it boring vs a slow moving drone capturing a nice subject vs a gamer flying through holes. What is imortant for everyone to understand is that it can be super easy to learn and do for everyone and it allows us to get our eyes in the sky to see what we always wanted to see and do.

For years I always thought of FPV drones as super glued, short range, duct taped up pieces of sh*t. And alot of them are, but alot of them are really well oiled machines that have been meticulously put together. Mindfully. Piece by piece
