Didn't expected that the DJI FPV would be that stable with turned off motors ! Although not intended this seems to be the result of its special aerodynamic design together with its low center of gravity. So basically the altitude you can reach with given battery capacity plus a small reserve for landing defines the maximum altitude you can fly. Awesome !

I'll have to experiment with "prop feathering" myself, but from a much lower altitude. Other people who make flight test limits videos, never have a plan for the low battery situation but you did! I would also point out to people wanting to test horizontal range limits to always egress against the wind and ingress (returning) with the wind. Also remember that wind speed decreases with altitude. Use that to your advantage. If you MUST ingress against the wind, stay LOW! Happy and safe flying to all!

You can just go up even more and override auto land in older software it was that case.
Because the air gets thinner the engines need to do more rpm and the drone calculates a wrong battery drain for the rth and starts to early with landing.

Yeah no this absolutely wasn't kosher. Cool video, but they don't even have a second operator which is a requirement for basic FPV flight at any altitude. Also, the drone could have hit icing conditions going through the cloud layer and been impossible to recover.
Edit: this wasn't flown in the US so the requirements I'm familiar with don't apply. Still, the risk of icing should be kept in mind
