Hello, my cellphone is a basic android and I use the app Kinemaster. It's free. Eventually I would like to invest some money into my channel. Camera and editing software are two things I want badly.
I've been having camera envy, but this encourages me to keep going on my phone for the time being! Thanks for the tip for front/back facing, I hadn't thought of that.
I love your tip about the mirror! Had not thought of that. Using an iPhone 7 and I think the back facing camera is highly superior to the front on it, so I needed that!
Excellent tips from beautiful Gillian, because other RUclipsrs talk to you about it, but they don´t talk about the settings in the cell phone and the importance of the use of something holding on the phone. Also, the tip of how to edit was magic.
Thank you, Gillian, for giving me hope and making me feel capable & empowered with your video. Your always so professional and easy to listen to. Many blessings to you.
I'm wanting to start my channel on RUclips to answer questions people have for their grandma (or mom) but for some reason they can't. In my neck of the woods everyone calls me "everybody's grandma". I want to share the little details of living that people may want a personal touch, ie: ask their grandma. How to do basic cooking, sewing, cleaning, camping, gardening, etc. This video goes a long way in helping me get it all together. Thanks
This is incredibly helpful, thank you for sharing all of the wonderful things we can do with our iPhone. Love your tutorials, you explain everything so well!
I use my iPhone 7. I use the back camera and an app called Reflector 3 that lets me monitor myself on my laptop. I love it! I"m saving up for a telephoto lens for it, but at this point I don't anticipate changing to a DSLR or vlogging camera. Thanks for being so positive about shooting with a phone - I love it! I've also found that for my shooting style, the phone mic works best. I'm a classically trained singer recording myself talking in a live room, and a mic too close to my face just gets blown out. Haha! The mic on the phone is far enough away that it doesn't get too overwhelmed by my vowels.
Wow, I just went from the video where you talk about things to know before you create an online course, to this video. Your voice quality is so different! You sound much more confident in this video. Did something change?? Do you have tips for talking to the camera? Because I can see how much you've improved in a short time!
Yes I had to make a video for 2 months (8- 10 hours a day everyday editing) on my other channel to finally learn how to make RUclips videos that will hook viewers
I appreciate your content but a lot of bloggers RUclips don’t just sit in the office they go out and block live in the streets in the country in the parks not just sat in one place love your content thumbs up
Been trying to learn all I can about RUclips videos. I want to start a channel about crafting and I know there is 1 million of them out there. But I am a blind crafter and I haven’t seen anything out there like this. I’ve already filmed my first video and probably going to launch it Wednesday.
Great show Gillian. I am just starting to think about vlogging and learning what I can do with my phone etc. so all hints and tips are very welcome. Cheers.
TY for all of this. been wanting to start a channel for over a year now, i love crafting and want to share my journey. the first step for me is always demystify and ill be honest...i failed last visit looking into all the dash stuff. but i feel a bit better watching these videos you share. just subbed too :) this is amazing info. prolly gonna watch every one XD
Thank you so much. I've been wanting to do YT for quite some time now but it always looked like a faraway dream as I don't have the money to invest in high tech equipment. Now thanks to your advice it seems more doable :) Ps: had a look at your channel and omg, looks exactly like what the doctor ordered 💃👏
I have a professional tripod. I record videos with my phone when I was a beginner RUclipsr I thought you couldn’t make videos on your Phone and just true from what I learned the camera just in case you want to film your own phone and other stuff like that but I got a laptop to and now edit my videos
I find these tips very useful. I just started my channel a month or so ago mainly showing my travel adventures. Like everyone else's channel its a work in progress.
Hi Gillian, New Subscriber here! Thank you for this video!!!!!!!!! I didn't have a clue about how to edit my videos until you recommended the Adobe Premiere Rush App. Going to download now and start editing. 👏🙂
thank you for the informative video. I have already started my channel but with little views. I had the wrong settings on my phone!! I am about to sign up for your free workshop now and hope it is as informative as this video.
Love your videos. Very educational and inspiring. Thank you for the detailed. information. You definitely give hope to those who who are Technology challenged. Please continue to make such videos. I would like to see a video about the most essential process that is needed,, after shooting a video, and to eliminate unnecessary processes. Thanks again.
Hello I'm new to RUclipsr and I have uploaded my first two videos and I know I have a lot of work to do but watching you is and your channel is very helpful... But question could you make a video on how you edit and cut your videos for RUclips using your phone please thanks
Hey love I love your video I'm a new subscriber and I'm definitely saving this in my favorite quick question if I may when you are recording with your phone sideways do you turn your auto rotate on or off to get the full screen when you're watching the video with the phone upright or sideways I'm starting a new channel and that's a little confusing for me and happy holidays hun thank you for such a great video. ❤️🥰
I have a iPhone 11 and a twitchy Kindle Fire but I am very passionate about having a channel about prepping for everything if the world turns upside down. I already have a FB following on my group and page but I want to work really hard to have one here because I think the information is soooo important. I want it where you can see me in the corner but I can show the videos of other or articles. Thank you for this video. I learned a lot!
Hello Gillian, thanks for the terrific tips on Making RUclips Videos on Your Phone. I especially like the part of the video that shows which phone App Video Editor to use. Great Tips! You're awesome! :-) What RUclips Channel topic do I want to start? Not sure yet. I am stumped on what topic or idea to talk about in my possible RUclips Channel as a (current) video watcher only.
Hi Gillian thanks for another great video but I have a question. I use open camera on my android galaxy A50 phone which works well in general and when focused has a great quality except after lots of effort and testing I can guarantee my focus to be as crisp as I want. I put everything to manual, settings but do I use auto focus,or focus locked or focus infinity or focus manual or focus continuous video? They all work well but if I move a little can tend to go out of focus or my jumper is focused more than my face. Would face recognition sort this out? Any advice
G'day Gillingham. I'm in Australia and we don't have many Australians doing tutorials. So I was thinking of starting one on how to crochet. I'm sort of ambidextrous, so I could show both ways and that would create mores videos. I'm 60 & not very internet savvy, but willing to try. I also am my husbands carer, who sleeps a lot. Starting my own channel will give me an independence when he's 'called home'.
I am currently recording with my Samsung Galaxy Note 9, I think the video is ok but I pull it into handbrake to convert to edit in Vegas pro and from there back to handbrake in order to make it smaller to upload on youtube and somehow it's making my quality on my videos worse. But for now, I'm not too stressed as I only have 14 followers. Sound I struggled with so I use the Samson go mic and that seems to be a bit better. Thanks for the tips and advice, I have done about 18 youtube videos so far.
Use a MIRROR!!! Best tip ever!!! So simple, yet so effective! Thank-you for that tip Gillian! Oh and love the Gorilla stand, next on my to-get list. Learned about them years ago and love how they can be wrapped around things, like tree branches, etc. to get great angles in places where a regular stand just wouldn't do the trick, plus of course smaller to lug around than a regular tripod! Big Hugs!
Great Video Gillian! Please tell us what Make, Model Android you are Using, Do you use for All your Smart Phone Videos??? Thank You!!! Much Peace! Om Shanti Shanti Shanti!!!
Hello Gillian I’m Eileen @KraftyLeeny I just started my RUclips channel doing DIY’s and Decor I just wanna say thank you sooo much for explaining things Great tips 👍🏽😎😃
Only one concern... you can't plug microphone in Samsug Note 10:) Unfortunately 9 out of 10 phones now don't have audio inputs... so it could be challenging to connect external mic.
Hi! Gillian, thanks for the tutorial on how to use the phone and it's anyone can use an iPhone or Android. My question is can you tell me the details about that phone you use I liked it for its camera it's clean I would love to use such type of phone? thanks ❤️

Thank you. I am thinking of starting a channel, but only have my phone, the camera on my laptop, and a cheap video recorder that I needed for a communications class.
