I’ve been filming videos for 4 months, after deciding to start a RUclips channel. I have an iPhone 12. I’m not a tech person, I’m 66, and the editing process seemed totally overwhelming! I just keep procrastinating to learn it- until today. I watched this entire video and took detailed notes. I’m gonna do this. I cannot thank you enough for making this video so detailed! Thank you! Thank you!!!
Melinda. How are you doing with the editing? I just started filming without the editing. Now I want to give my subscribers better content, so I am gonna try to learn editing. I will be taking notes as well on this video and some others.
ok Melinda...its been 5 months now...no video..this is a gentle push. I'm opposite of you, I'm more worried about getting content that shows what I'm trying to say. Don't worry so much about editing- if your really new to it just play around with any video first- familiarize yourself with what each feature or button does. That way your not going nuts when you want something on your 'real' upload. You Can Do This.
I recently retired from 50 years in the video business. Your tutorials are impressive and spot on! We used to spend hundreds of thousands in gear to do what you guys do now. Rock on!
Has to be THE BEST VIDEO I have ever watched and gave 40 minutes to - so, so educational and informative - simple, precise and no time was wasted! I truly learned from this video, thank you!
This will probably be one of the comments that's gonna get buried down the thread, but I just wanna tell you guys to keep this up. You've definitely motivated me to stop doubting myself and just get out there and start uploading. I'm sure most people who want to start their channel and have watched this felt motivated and inspired as well. Thumbs up Think Media!

WOW!! Just now seeing this. What a wonderful, helpful video. You make it sound so easy. I'm a disabled veteran, and always thought I could never be on RUclips, but you really got me excited about doing this!! You have no idea how going from being a healthy military man, to being in a wheelchair, the rest of your life, can cause you to be depressed and think that somethings are simply impossible. After watching this 4 part video, I think I'm going to give it a shot. Thank you so much! I'm actually excited to start!!! 🇺🇲🇺🇲

Wanted to express my gratitude to both of you for this video. This video is so clear and your instructions are in such great order. Finally up loaded my first RUclips video today. My thumbnail looks similar to what I saw on part three, I believe, of this video. I watched many many tutorials took down so many notes and was very frustrated trying to follow to start my channel. They are either way too fast for people like me who are not very tech savvy or not enough information. This one was just right. Thanks again. I'm sure I'll be back to get more ideas and watch a lot more of your videos. God bless.
O M G!!!! Y’all have no idea how much I needed this video. I’m starting my channel because I’ve had it for years but never have uploaded anything. I do makeup/beauty tips and mini tutorials on Instagram and everyone always ask me WHY ARE YOU NOT ON RUclips? So here I am now trying to start this however I been a week trying to upload the video to RUclips I used iMovie to edit it on my iPad and than the uploading process has been hell 😫. So glad I found this video after hours of trying and trying now I get a better understanding of what to actually do. I’m starting off filming on my iPhone xs plus.. any tips on how can Improve video quality? PS: I always thought I needed a fancy camera and computer in order to start my channel boy was I wrong!
I've been following Think Media for a few months now and have finally started my RUclips channel through their info. Watching Sean and Heather is absolutely mind-glowingly fabulous. I am so glad they are using an iPhone8 because that is what I have, I cannot afford to upgrade yet, I'm struggling to get my business up and running. The info they are giving out here is absolutely fabulous, the whole Think Media team have super lovely energy about them. Great hint about the front and back cameras, I film the overhead work for my Skillshare classes with the main camera but when I'm doing talking head I need to see myself but I try very hard to look at the lens!!!🤣🤣🤣
A Thank You, to both Sean & Mrs. Torres for the simple and easy steps on how to shoot my First Vid. i'm doing this small project for my Day who's been at home for a while now and not able to meet his students nor teach. He's an English Faculty and each day seeing him at home and not doing his work -really kills me :( i hope i set up our home studio n boom have him take off ..with me as the back support to this endeavour. Thank You for the inspiration on this video of yours and I Thank the Think Media Team too for posting this Free, Most appreciated.

Those downwards facing Thumbs, indicate ENVY!! Also, possibly, from the competition?!! Sad,but True!!😘xx ps,Thank you for pointing them out to me!~I didn't even Notice them! one of the most helpful videos I have ever seen on youtube. I will rewatch it more times as I am about to travel around the world and show the world as I see it. Thank you 1 milion times for this video 😍😍
I've been youtubing for 3 years and still make 99% of my videos with my phone. 80% of people view on the phone anyway so its almost impossible to tell nowadays if a video was shot on a phone or a dedicated camera. Even a professional sometimes has a tough time telling so joe average will never know.
My son and I love watching your videos - and you've helped inspire us to start our own channel (which is why I'm here watching this guy who is also awesome!)
This video was so awesome! I am about to begin my RUclips channel journey and was feeling so overwhelmed until I watched you guys. Now I am going to take the Masterclass and learn as much as I possibly can.
Stood till the end!!! Yayyy lol, i almost fast forward threw but wow such great help I’m totally psyched to do my next video. I had stopped posting for a little because I got discouraged not having a computer. But now I’m excited and so glad I stumbled on this video!!! I think I have about 4 or 5 videos up and it’s been about one month if I’m not mistaken. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching more of theses great insights.
Thank you for explaining many of the questions I had before starting a video or a channel. I am embarrassed to say I did not know what a thumbnail was or how to edit a video.
This is exactly what I need. I can’t imagine I finished this whole video, and it’s definitely worthit! Thank you so much for this. I just started my channel early October. Since then I’ve been finding ways to make my channel grow by making my videos better each time. Thank God I found your channel!🙏🏻❤️
Thoroughly enjoyed the video I'm definitely interested in doing RUclips videos as a beginner I confess the research that I have recently start viewing is a bit overwhelming and intimidating so much information to digest my focus on videos I want to make will center around men's image improvement consulting at this point all I have is my IPhone 6S I appreciate the information highlighted in this video certainly my next step is to go ahead make a my first video and through trial and error come up with a finished production thanks again for your wonderful video
Awesome video guys - most practical one I’ve see so far without people trying to pitch their affiliates stuff so much that you miss out on all the “start off” options. Thanks for this.
Well thought out. As a teacher, this was superior meta-think. As your student, I feel confident enough to act with what I've been shown. Well done, but not too overwhelming. 😊
Thank you so much for this video! I can’t believe how easy you explained it! I made my first RUclips video straight afterwards. Thank you sooo much xxx

Great video. You really helped me understand the HOWs a bit better. I have the WHY, WHEN, and WHERE; but missing how to actually make it happen with what I have. Thank you!
Wow, it is amazing how this video from three years past os still so relevant today. I wish I had stumbled on this video from day one. This is very impressive I must confess 👏
2021 and about to start a electrical youtube ... Davinci is overwhelming, Adobe too expensive in long term, Final cut is too simply. Thank youuuuuuu 👌🏽
I want to invest in a camera for many reasons, and I'm at the point where I think I'm ready to do that. I'm at 9000 subscribers, have made dozens of videos, found my style and have become very good at editing and motion graphics. I've found my identity when it comes to content creation. As of now, I record everything on my Galaxy S8. I edit with premiere pro and after effects. I'm not trying to plug/promote myself, but if you just look at my recent video, you'll see that I am not held back at all by using my phone. A good camera is great, but it's not something you need to begin. I think when people convince themselves that they need _____ first, they are just forming an excuse to delay their actual work, even if they don't realize it.
Today I am going start my English Grammar channel for second language users. I have never attempted anything like this before, and I haven't even picked a proper name yet. However, I feel much more motivated and informed after watching this video. Thank you!
Hi Sean & Heather thank you so much for this tutorial. Just what I am looking for as a brand new RUclipsr! I have a question. I created a thumbnail by following the instruction from Heather. Wow! I was impressed to have this phonto app 🙌🏼 but when I tried to add my thumbnail to one of my video the error message came up "image is bigger than 2MB how do I fix that? Thank you again for this video 🙏🏼
This was exceptional! I am totally new to all this. It was easy to follow, simple terms were used and references to more in-depth videos (Nolan's 3 pt lighting) were useful and appreciated. p.s. this video was part of your starter kit, which I've been using to get ready for the April CHALLENGE. My overall experience, so far, has been smooth and easy so thanks a million.
This!!! Literally seeing this at the perfect time, being that i just started my channel! Tysm! Also Good luck to all of the other youtubers trying to grow their channel!
I'm trying to get into making my own RUclips videos, but I find my voice comes out nasally during the video. I bought myself a new Yeti recently and waiting for it to arrive, I also bought a Rode Shotgun Microphone for my IPhone and I still sound the same when I record videos. My question is: If the Yeti doesn't help, is there a Microphone you can suggest I try? Or is it the App I'm using? Because I'm just recording regularly and the rode doesn't seem to be working for that either.
Thank you for making this video. Quick question: how did you add your Phonto thumbnail shot when you were editing your video from your phone? Do you add the thumbnail during your Inshot edit or do you add the thumbnail shot through the RUclips studio app?
Thanks Sean.. you seriously rock! I know your a Christian and I believe God has given you the heart & the talent to do all this to ultimately help people realize their dreams too. I really appreciate all that you & your team do! 🤓👌

Hai
I had no idea you could crop the picture already to the thumbnail size! This was sooooo helpful thank you so much 😊
I've been following Think Media for a few months now and have finally started my RUclips channel through their info.
Might want to put your phone into Airplane Mode so you won't get interrupted with texts and calls while you're recording your video!!
Point well made. Something i hadn't considered. Could be embarrassing of you didn't 😯
Ric Jefferson thank you I’m trying to become a RUclipsr this will really help
@CargoRay Of course. Either will do fine. It just wasn't mentioned in the video at all. Just trying to help
@CargoRay my do not disturb only turns off notifications when my phone is locked :(
I learned that the hard way. iPhones stop recording if you get a call.
This is fantastic! How anyone could give this a thumbs down is beyond me. Thank you!!!
Envy,quite simply!!
Disgruntled losers, who don't have the "Kahuona'
s" to either start a channel or, they couldn't commit?°
Perhaps their content was nothing of interest~ to anyone but themselves!!
Those downwards facing Thumbs,indicate ENVY!!
Also,possibly,from the competition?!!
Sad,but True!!😘xx
ps,Thank you for pointing them out to me!~I didn't even Notice them!
I'm a bit of a Dodo some days!!(*Most!)
Love,light and Peace!!💝
I didnt like the guys hair style
Ikr this is actually helping me!
one of the most helpful videos I have ever seen on youtube.
Yes very well said buddy !!
My son and I love watching your videos - and you've helped inspire us to start our own channel (which is why I'm here watching this guy who is also awesome!)
@@NeathawkDesigns epic dude, good luck with your channel

I've been learning so much by just posting with what little I know. I can't believe how much i learn in between videos.
its nice to learn the editing side its more of the creativity
@Let’s talk same here.
Me too!
I’m 60 and decided I want to do videos. I had no idea where to start. Now, I got this 🤠
67 Here, Retired 7 years ago looking for for new adventures(& make $$ to boot)
So blessed to find you . I am just getting started with getting gear and content outlines before my first video. This is amazing!
This video was so awesome! I am about to begin my RUclips channel journey and was feeling so overwhelmed until I watched you guys. Now I am going to take the Masterclass and learn as much as I possibly can.
Who is seriously taking notes in November 2020. This is very valuable for sure. Will save for later so I go back to it incase I missed anything.
2021*
Stood till the end!!! Yayyy lol, i almost fast forward threw but wow such great help I’m totally psyched to do my next video. I had stopped posting for a little because I got discouraged not having a computer. But now I’m excited and so glad I stumbled on this video!!! I think I have about 4 or 5 videos up and it’s been about one month if I’m not mistaken. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching more of theses great insights.
thank you thank you thank you, i just can‘t hold myself to thank you guys for helping me and building my future on social media!
Thank you for explaining many of the questions I had before starting a video or a channel. I am embarrassed to say I did not know what a thumbnail was or how to edit a video.
Actually had someone asking me about how to edit on their phone this Christmas. I'll send them this link.
Nice! Thanks for spreading the word!
Awesome
This is exactly what I need. I can’t imagine I finished this whole video, and it’s definitely worthit! Thank you so much for this. I just started my channel early October. Since then I’ve been finding ways to make my channel grow by making my videos better each time. Thank God I found your channel!🙏🏻❤️
I use my phone to shoot my videos. I am new to making videos. I have begun implementing the information here.
Thank you guys, a lot of help, really, I am starting my first cooking video literally tomorrow.
Think media you have been my angels I've learned so much now I'm a podcaster thanks to you....
Your content was the inspiration behind me starting my own channel last week with very little confidence - thank you so much!
Thank you sooo much xxx
it 's so badass

Crash course in video creating and we are galloping through! now by minute twenty seven. Thank you for this speed course on professional live video creation.
RUclips's audience is very specific. They are ready for great content. But you have to engage with the audience in a very direct fashion 😎

Great video. You really helped me understand the HOWs a bit better. I have the WHY, WHEN, and WHERE; but missing how to actually make it happen with what I have. Thank you!
To the person who's reading this, Uou will grow your RUclips Channel one day don't give up ! ❤️
Thanks
I hope
Well said human.
This is the best beginner video I’ve seen so far
Me too I love it
Today I am going start my English Grammar channel for second language users.
HI I'm just starting a youtube channel and I'm excited about learning a whole new skill set. Thanks for making it plain.
🤞
yes
I finally hit record. I feel like I’m limping through my first videos but I’m going to press on!
I know right 😁
The first time I saw Sean I was looking up “how to start a RUclips channel”, and I thank God I subscribed that day! Bless you
This was exceptional!

@@Jrock_hawkf Oh yeah! great stuff, :)
AWESOME video! Just developing a channel and this information will help me hit the ground running.
I haven't post in RUclips but I've been using InShot with my Note 9 for video editing and works great.
Please can you tell me how you edit the video
Please how did you used the in short, for editing. I don't know how to use it
Thank you for making this video.
Thank you. I spent all day trying to learn how to edit. Very exhausting. Finally, at 2 am I found this video. Thank you so much.
