Phenomenally great job. I was mentally calculating as I watched just ow much effort went into this video. 1) You had to have already spent a considerable amount of time figuring out and testing the componentry of the whole setup, 2) You had to have spent a lot of time setting up your own v1, v2, v3 assemblages of the components and testing the overall usability of the very parts that you spec'd while researching the rig -- in essence doing your proof of concept assurances that your original picks in fact performed as you were originally imagining. 3) You obviously went through rounds of tweaks in how all the components were mounted, testing camera shots, lighting configurations, sound quality, and your whole workflow to produce and post-produce sample content. 4) Only after doing all the above, you then needed to write the script for this video. It is all so perfectly presented, so fluid in its wording and presentation that you clearly put a lot of time into writing it, both in outlining the components of the video, and the sequencing of how you might communicate and present all of the pieces you wanted to illustrate. 5) You went through multiple edits of the script, timing out how much run time would be required, figuring out better/best juxtapositions of the content to present 6) You broke down the script into shot lists and spatially configuring in your mind all the angles and how to compose them in relation to the room and your existing furnishings. 7) You obviously did many test shots to practice and execute the various visuals you'd already spec'd, to optimize the look and feel of how you were illustrating the elements, and testing sound quality. 8) You probably did some test edits of combining shots to see how they were resulting in fluid sequences, and tweaking audio where needed. 9) Then came shooting. 10) I cannot hazard a guess at how many hours this required. Theoretically it could have all been shot in one day, but I rather doubt that's all it took. Because again as part of the trial and error and tweaking on the fly, you probably did retakes and probably a few reshoots changing up/tweaking the actual camera/zoom/angles etc. 11) Rough editing - probably a few days 12) EFX/ GFX / changing/swapping in & out different B-roll illustration elements 13) Sound sweetening 14) RUclips upload workflow including thumbnail, video title, description, the actual upload 15) Adding/ pulling in your marketing elements into description ... Watching and evaluating the whole video, perhaps making some final tweaks, possibly using YT's built-in editor, possibly re-uploading a minorly changed version. I actually don't recall if there was any music in bg, i think not, but maybe there was and it was just handled so well that I wasn't even aware of there being any music at all. 16) Publishing the video That's a tremendous amount of work and effort, and throughout any of the above articulated elements, lesser-talented people may have created/produced lesser results. Grateful that there are none of the hallmark cutesy little asides or clever little insertions intended as comic relief. That stuff is always so groan-worthy, and so it's great to see really clean, really pro, really accompished production and presentation without any of those telltale B-level, C and D-level content creator detractions. I've never seen your channel before. I happened upon this in the right hand related video column, and quite honestly the subject matter was so compelling, and the thumbnail promised something of high quality, well-thought-out and not any click-bait to grab my attention but ultimately waste my time where I then feel like a fool for falling for the usual clickbaity failed-promise, failure to deliver the goods. I am happy to say that watching your video was fascinating and effortless -- which I know can only mean there was a tremendous amount of effort invested in by you the creator. .... I was so impressed that I didn't even think about or plan this comment -- i just immediately began typing on the fly my call-outs and appreciation for such a high quality/ high value piece of content where i learned some really unique things. I just also love love any compact elegant solutions to things, creating efficient systematized ways to simplify and improve a process and workflow. I have never ever written such a reply to a tech video before. Never ever before for a Marques video, certainly never before for a Linus video. The overall quality of tech videos has improved by about 500% over the past 5-6 years, the threshold requirements have all risen, and you with this video rose to the occasion to effectively bring these higher-grade A-list production qualities and elements to a potentially huge array of creators. There is no doubt in my mind that there will not be hundreds of people who take this perfect template you've created and go out and buy all the recommended components then reproduce the collective results. VERY VERY FEW people/channels could ever ever achieve this kind of direct impact on people. Cheers and well done. (*This was all written one-pass, no planning, no edits.)

Hey Ali! Thanks for stopping by! Yes, the camera does wobble a bit if I move while sitting at my desk. For your setup, I’d recommend mounting the camera off the table for a more stable shot.
@@NatesFilmTutorialsgreat video! I love this and was going to do this same thing but the wobble was too much for me since I slide products and talk with my hands too much. So I used a varipole above the desk and mounted top down to that and have my key light on a rolling C-Stand with camera and mic. Then for shots I do not need the top down I can roll the c-stand wherever I want……ya i need to do a video on this lol 😂……still this is a fantastic option loved the video and your explanation was so clean! I love everything about this video. My current setup several individual desk stands. This is much cleaner. Already redesigning my setup with your recommendations. Thanks!
I think this is my third time watching this video. This is a great setup! I’m slowly building a similar setup that fits my budget. This is the type of content that newer RUclipsrs need. Thank you.

Hands down, best RUclips setup I've seen so far and trust me, I've watched hundreds of these setups! Yeah, it's costly but, you will spend only once for a great quality setup. Thanks!
Love this setup, just one thing to keep in mind, if you're an artist or are doing anything where the desk could vibrate/move... that will result in shaky camera. If you have a heavy-duty enough desk, you might not have too big of an issue. Just something to keep in mind if you're a creator of that kind.
That’s where it comes in handy having a production plastic bin on hand with various sized sandbags That help dampen the vibration, sound, and hold things in place. I would also always recommend having at least one C stand, and a few other consumables on hand, such as camera tape, gaffers tape, Non-conductive clamps. Excellent video and would love to see everyone’s suggestion on editing software they use.
Best most single set up I’ve seen. Thinkmedia has done lots but sometimes its a bit of tripods and stands. I got bout 42x24in maybe 42x36 to work with so this helps me a bit.
Great information! I have seen so many video's on what equipment to get for starting your youtube channel. So this is perfect for space, cost and just starting out. I really want to do this the right way and save time. Thank you again. I like your setup and want to duplicate it the best I can.
Thank you so much! Downsizing can definitely be a challenge, but it’s great to hear you’re still feeling inspired! Even with limited space, there are always creative ways to set up an efficient workspace.
You may consider switching over to the El Gato Key Light, which comes with a desk mount, to avoid the need for a Softbox Mini. It's smaller, lighter and bright enough for your use case. Additional unnecessary set-up would be to add the Atem Mini Pro recorded directly to SSD. You'd be limited to 1080p, but you could switch to the overhead or front camera as desired and potentially have it recorded in a single take. Especially if you use something like a Parrot teleprompter clipped onto the front of your lens and using your cellphone to scroll your script or bullet points.
The beginning of the video says it all. I have a set of tripod sticks that I refuse to take down because its setup right where I need it. Even though its the only set of sticks I have, I would rather it stay there and I figure out how to prop the camera up for other shots than keep tearing down and resetting for various content shots. Same for my lights which is nothing more than a humble ring light, a work light modified with barn doors and a can light with black aluminum foil wrapped around to shape the light. I'll eventually have a setup up that is more routine and streamlined.
the only thing i could possibly suggest would be to convert the dual knob post holder into a screw spindle style for ease of use with arthritis. think converting a dual handle vice into a single handle. Such an amazing time to be around.
This is a clear, easy-to-follow tutorial-the best one I have seen yet. Quick question: Can the Tarion Camera mount support a Sony ZVE10 with an Elgato Prompter?
I'm absolutely in love with this setup. I have seen others, but this is amazing. Quick question, if you are willing to reply: when you are doing things on the desk, like showcasing products or doing unboxings, doesn't it make the camera shake?
Thanks for the kind words! In the setup I used in this video, there’s minimal shake. However, if you lean against it, it can be a bit shaky. For unboxings, though, it works great, and the rig settles within a couple of seconds.
I've just realized I needed a setup like this. The family moved to a new flat and I had to rebuild my whole studio again. The room is smaller and I needed to tinker with the setup so I get at least one shooting angle with more space behind me. At the same time, I'm on... tripods, C-stand and my setup is for three cameras filming at the same time. In 9 square meters I'm being aware that whatever I want to do, I need to move something. The studio was finished a week ago and I moved the stuff more than I filmed anything. Your video came as recommended in my feed so I guess the YT Gods were with me. Your solution here gave me some great ideas and luckily most of the stuff you mentioned is available in the EU (I'm based in Sweden). The top down shot is new to me as you've solved it so big thanks for that. Also, thank you for sharing those extra tips about filming and using the desk, slider, lighting in those special ways. Neat!!
Hi Nate! nice to meet you! first off congratulations for your amazing content, secondly, let me ask you a quick question. loved the idea of using a boom arm for holding the light! i went after the one you told in the video, but unfortunately here in europe i didnt find it. im building my new studio and i wanted know if you'd recommend another one as good as the one in the video! im worried about the weight of the light (NEEWER CB60B - 3kg) and the angulation! Thanks!
Do you have any shaking going on in your footage from the camera being mounted onto the desk that way? Ive watched a ton of videos on overhead shots and the issue I'm worried about is shaking which I could fix in post of course but I'm curious. Really loved this video, probably the best ive watched thus far.
I'm surprised you didn't mention a streamdeck or something similar to switch between cameras while filming (or did I miss that?). It's an amazing set up, I love it. Totally copying this for my studio!
You totally could! I have another desk for editing and streaming, but since I don’t need those features here, I’d rather keep it tidy for filming b-roll.
Great video, definitely needs additional accent lights as the studio is very dark without enough fill light, and the colors of the shirt matching the background - not good for talking head videos. But, if your channel is just about product reviews, then, I'm sure it doesn't matter as much. Great takeaways! Thanks for linking your gear that cable management system and affordable desk with rising ability is great.
@@NatesFilmTutorials I’m always looking for info. I run a CNC channel so it’s hard to always get the lighting and sound right since I’m shooting in a tiny workshop. I just use a busted up iPhone - I’m going to watch your camera video tomorrow
@SJSSawdust Ah that makes sense! Have you seen the video from Bob “I Like To Make Stuff” where he built a rig without the need to sue a tripod? I would love to have some sort of version of that. You could also see how Adam Savage uses his phone right to film his videos. Truly impressive what you can do!
The Background wall has a significant role in the whole setup and you didn't tell about it, what kind of paint or background or texture, how can some create like that.
You should build on this video. It seems to score the best amongst most videos at the moment. So Make one on "How to Build an Entire RUclips studio on one desk" I know the content would most likely correspont with this video but it would adress a totally different audience.
Appreciate this video as it provided me (newbie) things that I need to consider. With that said…used your link to Tarion and got the 4-1 kit. Which came with free travel tripod ($50)! Now to figure everything else out.
That is such a cool and functional setup. I am developing something for a similar application, architectural process stories to feature the design experience (behind the scenes), explore the tools used in design (markers, pens, iPad, BIM), architectural product features (material samples, hardware, etc.), and hosted interviews, online focus groups, and online conference calls. This RUclips Studio on One Desk is ideal, especially for a small space. Thank you.
@@NatesFilmTutorials, I love that you shared links (sponsored) to the gear in the video. While not a stand-up desk, my plan is to jazz up my existing traditional desk, which already sports a double monitor and laptop arm. Some lifting casters may be added to improve mobility around the room. I will follow your lead on the light stand for use with my Falcon Eyes 18T Studio light with softbox. I'll begin with a couple of iPhone cameras, then move to a Sony and/or Blackmagic camera package. Thanks again.

Came up on my feed and i love it 😂🎉
🙌 Appreciate the kind words! Are you looking to make one yourself?
I'm surprised you didn't mention a streamdeck or something similar to switch between cameras while filming (or did I miss that?). It's an amazing set up, I love it. Totally copying this for my studio!
You totally could! I have another desk for editing and streaming, but since I don’t need those features here, I’d rather keep it tidy for filming b-roll.
i like the way of your arrangement simply super thanks a lot
from india
I love the setup
Great video, definitely needs additional accent lights as the studio is very dark without enough fill light, and the colors of the shirt matching the background - not good for talking head videos. But, if your channel is just about product reviews, then, I'm sure it doesn't matter as much. Great takeaways! Thanks for linking your gear that cable management system and affordable desk with rising ability is great.
Awesome setup!
Great video my man! I really like the look and sound of your setup - keep it up!
Appreciate it! Are you looking to build one?
@@NatesFilmTutorials I’m always looking for info. I run a CNC channel so it’s hard to always get the lighting and sound right since I’m shooting in a tiny workshop. I just use a busted up iPhone - I’m going to watch your camera video tomorrow
@SJSSawdust Ah that makes sense! Have you seen the video from Bob “I Like To Make Stuff” where he built a rig without the need to sue a tripod? I would love to have some sort of version of that.
You could also see how Adam Savage uses his phone right to film his videos. Truly impressive what you can do!
@@NatesFilmTutorials Adam does a great job. Thanks for the videos. I subbed
The Background wall has a significant role in the whole setup and you didn't tell about it, what kind of paint or background or texture, how can some create like that.
enjoyed this video, think I will adopt this setup
amazing setup!
You should build on this video. It seems to score the best amongst most videos at the moment. So Make one on "How to Build an Entire RUclips studio on one desk" I know the content would most likely correspont with this video but it would adress a totally different audience.
I love your set up!
Thank you! Are you looking to build one?
The best studio setup i have ever watchedl❤✨
Thank you! Are you wanting to put one together?
@@NatesFilmTutorials YES offcourse, but I'm from Bangalore India, I don't think I can get the exact products here, guide me please.
Thank you.
Ooh love that!
This is great! I'm definitely going to look into this. Thanks for sharing!
You definitely should! Would love to see it!
Super nice video, very helpful, thanks so much!
thank you Nate, exactly I was looking for
Badass setup
