This was a customer's vehicle. She claimed the car would get a soft brake pedal after tripping abs on snow or ice, and the pedal would return to normal after restarting the car. Her husband attempted to fix the soft pedal by beating on the abs hcu pump controller ( round part on the hcu), causing an internal failure and causing abs, advance trac lights to come on.
I believe you can download it using forscan as well. If you do this job I highly recommend forscan and their recommend obd2 link. It's well worth the money, cheapest pro level scan software for the money using your laptop.
@@jonathanyang9693 this definitely isn't easy. I ended up putting over a gallon of brake fluid through it doing abs service bleeding. This is a hard job for sure.
At the end I would recommend placing some paper towel around the hcu lines to check for seepage as well. Mine had a hard time sealing at first had to keep loosening and readjusting them.
Thanks
can you tell me what symptoms you were experiencing, to replace the abs?

Can this be the problem if the breaks are locking up at high temperature an if you turn the car off for a bet it goes back to normal?
Sounds like it could be if turning it off and on fixes it. These cars have the worst abs hcu problems I've ever seen.
