You’re welcome! I would highly recommend checking all the ground wires at the battery, both the strut towers, and the passanger side of the engine where 2 ground wires go to the cylinder heads. Clean those off really well and If that doesn’t work then replace your alternator but use an oem ford one! Lol learn from my mistakes
I route it around everything except the alternator and then pull back the tensioner and slide it over the alternator. If you can’t get it your self have someone hold the tensioner back while you put the belt on, if you don’t have a second person you can take and zip tie your ratchet back to hold tension on the tensioner or use a ratchet strap to hold it back
Thank you for sharing. I have watched a few times already. And am watching again now. Tomorrow, I will be changing the alternator on my 2007 Edge . It all started, though with the original plugs going to 150k, they fried coils, coils fried ECM & NOW ECM fried alternator! Been a journey no doubt! Just want to say thank you for this content you make! So how many Edges have you had in your family? And do you, your wife & daughter all drive Ford Edge? That's so cool & pretty smart
@dustinjennings4417 you’re very welcome! I try to put out content to help people and also other content for entertainment purposes. Currently this is the only edge I/we have ever owned, currently it has over 252,000 miles on it and it’s been a great vehicle to own. We got it back in 2013 with 71k miles on it. I have learned over the years to never trust manufacturers recommendations on maintenance intervals. I change my plugs every 50k miles and I do the oil every 3k with full synthetic, PTU every year, and the rest of the fluids I do every other year. I’ve had great luck in doing that. I’m sorry your edge is broken at the moment. I hope you’re able to get it all fixed up! This alternator job really isn’t that bad to do, just take your time and hopefully the bolts aren’t all rusted to heck
Great video! Thank you helped me out a lot when changing alternator! Highly recommend.
Thank you very much! I appreciate that compliment! Have a great day!
Thank you for sharing! My Ford edge has the same problem with intermittent charging issue! I am thinking about changing the alternator.

This took me 2 days to do lol.
Pain in the ass
lol sorry to hear that! I’ve done this 5 times now so I’m pretty quick at it lol
Took me 2 hours it is a pain when its rusted
@yellowsubie28 even so, thats not to terrible for time. How rusted were the alternator bolts?
good video.. lol i am drinking mountain dew also while working on the car,
Lmao nice! I don’t drink beer so this is the next best thing lol
Do you have to so all the with the fan just to change the alternator?
Yea the fans have to come out in order to remove the alternator, there’s not enough room to pull it out otherwise
How much bo you charge
I charge 300 for labor
I was wondering how long that Ford alternate lasted
I replaced it in 2019 with 170k miles on it. And then the autozone jobs last a couple years and that’s it
Thanks
You’re welcome.
