@@T-MillProductions that is same year as my Edge. My driver side actually separated at the joint & left me stranded. I have 220K miles on mine. Have you replaced the rear passenger upper control arm I just did mine. Thanks for the video.

Dang man same problem as me lol. I’ve had to do these ball joints several times now because of the roads and terrain we drive it on. I would almost think either a CV axle or a Wheel bearing unless the rear differential is actually bad

Howdy, what speed does it slip in? And if you turn overdrive off does it go away? I know these transmissions have overdrive servos that go bad and overdrive won’t work. Also how does the fluid look? Is it pink or really dark and does it smell burned?

​@@T-MillProductionsdrive and overdrive. I haven't tried turning overdrive off tho. The fkuid is pink. I was thinking maybe an additive for the seals ?

It sounds it may be the same or similar problem to want I had. I would check for any transmission codes with a scanner and then see what it says. Mine was pink and drove okay for a very short time. Then by the time I got it home about 10 miles from the guys house it would only drive in first year

@T-MillProductions I have no codes. And it was checked with a really good scanner. Not one of those from Advance auto. I don't have a light on this dashboard at all. 190K on it. I'm going to try the additive and hope for the best. Thanks for your reply bud.

Thanks lol, I actually bought most of them, usually I try to buy everything used if I can to save money, the tool boxes I got used and new, and the hand tools sometimes I find in cars I buy and other times I trade people labor on their cars for tools. That’s how I got my air compressor and my big red snap on box. And what is a hand wood rasp used for lol? I have never heard of that or used one lmao

Is your edge AWD or FWD? It sounds like either a carrier bearing in the driveshaft, wheel bearing, PTU (if awd), or a cv axle.

Oh you mean the carrier bearing, yea that can make a noise too but when mine went bad it just made a horrible vibration in the floor

Typically that is true, this car isn’t super slow but definitely doesn’t have the power it should, but regardless a cat shouldn’t glow orange

I don’t remember but I do remember I bought it off rockauto. They’re were 2 different drive shafts that ford made, a 2 piece and a 3 piece, the original one for mine was a 3 piece but then ford came out with the 2 piece and I went with that one

The non-PI intake is smaller on the ports so no you cannot. You have to use a PI intake on PI heads.

Well that’s really more an option than anything, me personally I would do both of them every other fluid change. I have a Nissan rogue and I just did the 2 filters on that and the fluid and a new pan and the cartridge filter you could tell was original and had a fair amount of build up in it. I would recommend doing your filters but that’s just me

Is there a tune on your car? And how long have you had it for?

@T-MillProductions 4 years, and there is a tune on the car. It started after i let the battery die, and it sat for months. I changed everything it would fine then start stuttering around 2k rpms and if you get on the throttle it cuts out and is under powered.

It almost sounds like you have a bad converter, do you have the factory mid pipe on there still? Or you may have an intake restriction

Then I almost would say you have a fuel restriction or an intake restriction, have you looked at your throttle linkage? And is your throttle body really dirty?

Yea the fans have to come out in order to remove the alternator, there’s not enough room to pull it out otherwise

My only idea would be a junk yard somewhere or go on marketplace and try to find someone parting one out. If no one sells them new the. Thats gonna be your only options. What state do you live in?

So I meant to put that in the video and I forgot too, but I blocked it off with some jb weld and opened the throttle blade up a little bit to idle better, it’s not perfect but it works

Mine are going bad in about the same amount of time too. I’ve tried the ones from autozone, advance, rockauto, and Timkin and have the same results. Last a couple years and go bad. Those Detroit axle bearings for the rear are the worst. 6 months to a year and they go bad

It’s funny because I talked to my ford parts guy that comes to my work and all the aftermarket ford parts are just rebrands now. So if you buy a motorcraft wheel bearing there just a rebranded Timkin or Dorman

I may have gotten the length wrong then, all I know is the bolts I used worked perfectly

@@T-MillProductions I just replaced with 1/4"-20 x 1" bolts and I did not need to do anything to the end of the bolt - it slid right into the slot in the shifter.
